I understand the "hole in the wall" description, doesn't look like much from outside, it is actually a repurposed bank. Inside it is very upscale and on weekends you better have reservations, we actually popped in early on a Thursday evening and were squeezed in. For the atmosphere and the quality of food you receive, it's honestly very budget friendly. My boyfriend and I got drinks, an app, two entries and a side of fried rice under $100. This was one of the best dining experiences I have had in a long time. Long story short, the atmosphere was nice and upscale but not intimidating or too fancy, the service was absolutely phenomenal and incredibly professional, and the food was out of this world good. For appetizers we got the ribs (**Must try**) which were so tender and had a very flavorful whisky honey glaze, and the toong tong which was a nice little bite of stuffed wonton. For our entrees we got the duck that had nice crispy skin and an amazing sauce to accompany it. Also got the Salmon (**Must try**) that came with super tender almost butter like roasted eggplant slices and served in an amazing curry sauce. We also had the chicken pad Thai (**must try**) that was some of the best pad Thai I have had and served super uniquely in a rolled omelet style presentation. And can't forget about dessert, which included a taro custard with vanilla tangerine gelato (**must try**) that was like a warm bread pudding custard type dessert with sweet wafers on top. Perhaps they were having an off night, but we did not have the experience I would expect from a restaurant like this. First, full disclosure, we were a few minutes late for our reservation. However, the restaurant was not full, but definitely a faux pas on our part. The service was great. We got the Toong Tong appetizer, which was delicious (would have loved at least 1 or 2 more wontons for the appetizer). Cocktails were good as well (the wine pour is extra generous here!). For our entree's we ordered the Pad Thai and the scallops. It took an inordinately long time for our food to come out. The saving grace there was the host noticed this and went to the back to find out what was going on. People that arrived after us got their food before us (some had ordered the same dish). For context, it was just 2 of us and we were there almost 2 hours. We aren't slow eaters and we don't "linger" either, so this was a pretty long meal for us. The scallops were wonderful. Presentation was fantastic, and they were cooked perfectly. The Pad Thai however, was really a bust. We love Pad Thai, and we had high hopes, but it was not flavorful. The shrimp was overcooked, and the dish was just missing something, much to our disappointment. Had it not taken so long for our food, and the Pad Thai been better, this could have easily been a 4 or 5 star review, but for an upscale Thai restaurant to have a lackluster Pad Thai, I couldn't bring myself to give them another star. The food was beautiful and tasty. Price was what you would expect for a place with suck good food. The chef puts a fancy flair on Thai food which was appreciated. Hubby and I were excited to see such a nice dining option on Main Street in Lexington, SC. Bodhi Thai was a treat! I'll start with the good and then head to the bad? Overall the meal was good. Before dessert it was a solid 3. The dessert was incredible. It was a taro custard with coffee ice cream, honey tuile, crispy merangue, salted Carmel drops under a glass filled with smoke. It was crave worthy! I'd go back just for that. I had the Penang pork chop which had great flavor. The pork chop wasn't detected hot enough but the plating was on point. There was a little too much sweet chili sauce on the plate for me but the flavors overall were good. The heat was a PERFECT 4. My husband had the steak salad - I wish they offered a larger entree version. We both would have ordered it for dinner. It was perfectly seasoned. We ordered the "special" flower dumpling. 3 on the plate for $13 and they weren't warmed enough and were very dry inside. I've had them before at another Thai location in midtown Atlanta. I would have paid $6 for the 3 we had at Bodhi. No more. Skip them. The qty and the price are both very high in my opinion and I live in South Florida where costs of the avg dinner out are more in line with bodhi. I ordered the lemon and lavender martini and the glass was on the small side for a $13 martini and there was little alcohol in the drink. I honestly think they have the bar close to the kitchen and maybe the mixers and liquor are on the warmer side because it was watered down by the ice they shook it in. The flavor was great but it tasted like a children's flavored drink. They should probably consider upping their drink game since that's going to pull in a bigger profit if people like what they serve. I'd be curious how many tables actually order more than one martini after they see the size of the glass vs the price and then taste the drink. Anyway - now I'm acting like I know how to run a restaurant. I'll stop now and let the pros do it. read more

Hands down delicious and worth every penny of the price. Dinner service is upscale and chic, and the food matches the ambiance. There's a great wine selection, which is housed in the vault section of this old bank building. The wait staff was friendly and warm. The dishes came out beautifully plated, and tasted spectacular, authentic Thai. During our visit, the chef sent out complementary potato bisque, and accommodated a special order for us as well.
