I lucked out and managed to snag a spot today, and immediately started having a great experience. The person I chatted to was pleasant and informative and willing to work with me despite the short notice. When I got there, my therapist Natali was like a ray of sunshine. She was very helpful and had knowledge about the condition I have so it made it easy to explain what I needed. I went in with neck and shoulder pain that had caused a three day migraine, and sore (and apparently swollen) feet & ankles after starting a new job yesterday. I came in last Saturday and booked a same-day appointment online to see Marina for an hour pre-natal massage. I was having some really bad back aches and had a giftcard I've been waiting to use. Booking online was very easy. They have a small parking lot behind the building so that you don't have to park on the street or look for parking, which is definitely a plus for me being 28 weeks! Upon arrival, I was greeted by the receptionist who had be fill out a form. The ambiance was instantly relaxing with the music and setting of the lobby. When Marina took me back, I was actually surprised at the amount of rooms there were down the hallway. The table was set up with a body pillow for me to prop myself up against and lay on my side. I told her where most of my pain was and she went to work! I started on my left side, then she had me turn to my right and finished with me on my back for a few short minutes. She used the perfect amount of oil and really worked on my knots and tension areas. I fell asleep a few times too. When it was finally over, I felt 100% better! I read a few of the bad reviews before booking my appointment because I wanted to know what I was getting myself into as this would be my first time receiving a microdermabrasion facial and back scrub. I noticed that a lot of the negative reviews were due to missing an appointment and fussing over being charged fully, as stated per their policy. It's a scary rigid policy but as someone who has friends in the beauty services industry, a missed appointment is lost money and every negative reviewer complaining about this policy wishes they were the exception to the rule. Anyway, I book my appointment for 10:30 and show up fifteen minutes early because I figured I would I have to fill out some paperwork like several other places do before you get waxed, massaged, etc. The place is small but cute and the parking entrance was on the right side of the building, leading to a small lot behind the spa (which is technically the entrance). Sure enough, I was given two brief forms to fill and sign (diet, current ailments/conditions, supplements etc) and as I sat there waiting, sure enough the front desk gets a call regarding needing to cancel an appointment within a few hours from the appointment. The woman at the front desk politely reminded the caller of the policy and gave them the option of having someone else show up to fill in that spot as to not be charged in vain. A rigid policy for sure, but understandable. The woman at the front desk confirmed I was there for a back scrub and microdermabrasion and asked if I had meant to get a massage as well, to which I responded no. I'm assuming that people usually don't book back scrubs on its own, but as an addition to a back facial or massage. Still, she didn't try to upsell me, which I really appreciated. My esthetician was Mariam and she led me to a private room that was small, clean, low-lit, and relaxing. After undressing and lying down, Mariam scrubbed my back and took her time doing it. It surprisingly felt a little like a massage. When we moved onto the facial, it felt like she was being very deliberate in what she was doing. It all felt so relaxing and none of it felt rushed or sloppy. It was then I appreciated their rigid policy, it didn't feel like Mariam wanted to get me out of the room for her next client and I really took note of that. When it was all said and done, Mariam didn't pressure me into buying products or booking the next appointment right then and there. Let me tell you, EVERY other place I've gone to always encourages me to book right then and there and it's an awkward conversation when I have to be adamant I don't know what my schedule a month in advance looks like. There was none of that there. She let her work speak for itself. My skin feels smooth and plump and I'm not sure if my skin will react negatively within the next few days (I'll edit this if it does), but I'm satisfied with the services I booked. I didn't know that they also offer back facials with microdermabrasion so depending on how my skin reacts to it, I might book that next. I'm not one to review services but I felt like Mariam deserved it. read more

I've gone to this place three times now and I'm 1 for 3. The very first time I had a pretty good experience with Kim. She's honestly why I kept trying to return, plus pricing is nice. Pressure was great, she was professional, everything worked during my session (I.e. music no commercials) and she made it very relaxing. There was no talking except for what was needed to be asked. You know, how a RELAXING massage is supposed to go. I like to keep my paid chats for my therapist. Just kidding I'm being silly with that comment but you catch my drift. Second time I got Jenn bc Kim wasn't avail for the day or time I wanted. She'll talk your ear off and there were many texts or music interruptions during my session. Decided it was a no on that one. She had good hands and pressure tho. Third time was recently for a prenatal massage and facial with Mariam; ugh by far the worst experience I had. She literally just lathered my body with oil and honestly the facial felt the same way. How would you like to pay someone $180 to just have them rub oil on you? I was super upset. I'm now 39 weeks pregnant, my body needs these types of appointments. You know the site keeps listing how many years of experience these people have but I'm just not seeing it. Scared to return or try anyone other than Kim. Each woman had me at each trimester. All of them felt equally important. I dunno Fullerton. My experience and my friend's experience here was not great. Both masseurs did not do a good job. Mariam finished my session 5 min early and Jamie thought my friend fell asleep so she started massaging them more lightly enough to the point where it was became just touching. I just had a fantastic massage with Evelyn this afternoon. She did some deep work on my back, and I walked out feeling like a brand new person! She applied the right amount of pressure in all the right places, and knew exactly when to check in with me about whether it was too hard, if towels were too hot, etc. She made a little bit of small talk, but not so chatty that it brought me out of my deeply relaxed state. It was warm under the covers and the lighting was not too bright. I really did feel like my needs were a top priority with her, and it put me in a great mood for the rest of the day. The experience was just ok. When I booked the massage, I received an email stating that it would be a customized massage. In the intake forms, they also ask what you want to focus on. When my husband and I entered the room, Mariam and Sue told us to undress and get in the bed. We figured we could discuss our needs and wants before starting. We got in the beds, and they returned to the room and quickly started without any conversation about what we were looking for or would like. Sue asked my husband if he wanted CBD, and he said yes. Mariam had to remind her to inform customers that CBD was an extra cost. I'm not sure if Sue didn't understand or just ignored her. So Mariam asked me if I was ok with the extra fee for my husband. Had Mariam not spoken up, we wouldn't have known it was an additional cost. During my massage, Mariam chewed gum loudly in my ear and mostly used her elbows instead of her hands. I was so oily at the end of the massage that I almost slipped getting off the bed and had to use a towel in my car to wipe most of it off. Overall it was just an ok experience. I did see her twice this week and I have results already I have a lot less swelling and pain my body has better movement and overall comfort. I've been to BodyCentre Fullerton several times before, and always had a pleasant experience. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was very bad. My massage therapist was literally using her phone during the massage. She had covered my eyes with some sort of cloth so that I couldn't see. I began to feel like something was off because she was spending a very long time on my feet, and I could feel that she was doing the massage with only one hand. The massage felt limp, so I pulled the cloth off my eyes to see what was going on, and low and behold, Jaime not only has her mask pulled down, but I see her cell phone light reflecting onto her face. It is really inconsiderate for a massage therapist to have their mask pulled down during the massage, especially when they specifically request that the customer keep theirs on. It's also really unacceptable to be on your phone while giving a massage. It was very apparent to me that she was not just checking the time or changing a song- I had been given a limp, distracted foot massage for at least fifteen minutes before I pulled down the eye cover to see what she was doing. It's really inappropriate, and made me feel unsafe. I'm literally half-naked on the table, and I don't know what she's doing on her phone! read more

Her technique was a bit different than what I am used to, but I loved that she was able to dig into the trouble areas on my back and hip. I'm an ex college athlete, and sitting at an office chair all day doesn't do much good for me. She suggested coming back for a customizable massage, and I'm totally going to take her up on the offer. Mariam explained thoroughly to me the process of it and when she would begin it in the midst of the hour session. I had a separate room which was great - it's not one of those places where multiple people are in one room.
