I came here on a Thursday night around 8 pm. Typically we don't go to boiling point because there's usually a long wait. We put ourselves on the waitlist and it only took about 15 minutes before we got seated. You scan a QR code for the menu. There was a milk tea deal for 50% off from 3 pm-closing. I got the seafood and hot tofu soup, mild. It was fine, but I recall when I've had this at other boiling points previously, it came with a small baby octopus and fish balls filled with roe or something, which they didn't have either of these this time. I got the Cha jelly milk tea as part of the 50% off milk tea deal. I liked this drink as it didn't have a strong tea flavor and the jelly added some texture to the drink. Relatively smaller location compared to Garden Grove and Irvine.
It's Friday and it's lunchtime me and a good friend decided let's find a good place to eat. That's a little different than our Friday and usual Korean barbecue so we found this place the one and only boiling point in Gardena getting there was not too bad coming from the 91 freeway just right off of Western Avenue getting into the parking area and where the food is really off the street so you gotta go through the side driveway to get to the parking lot in the back. After you find parking, you'll find the entrance to boiling point double doors and you'll be greeted with the waiter or waitress and you can see the number of tables in front of you. It's just a long narrow hallway with both seating on on both side of the wall and the cash register and food area is to your left. I count roughly about 1415 tables that can seat up two pairs of two with front to back enough room to put two hot pot stove with a little bit of room in between for a bowl of rice or noodle. The establishment is not fancy, but it is lively and average noise. It is perfect for a couple or a pair but anything bigger than that you might as well find a different boiling point or a restaurant altogether definitely recommending for smaller groups of twos separated by tables and I highly recommend getting there if you want for lunchtime right after 11 AM we got there roughly around 11:38 AM and there was only two tables of seating up to two left. I have not been to this particular one, but I am going to recommend it because it is just fantastic. Boiling point does not disappoint. I guess another way of saying that is highly recommending boiling point. It is the best if not the best. Well, I tried the Taiwanese spicy soup that has combination of all the inner my buddy got the typical beef soup with medium spice. All I can really say is the food and soup is phenomenal. I'm talking about it can literally make you be full and a good feeling of being full with good food combination of noodles, vegetables, proteins, and a little kick of spice or you can add a little bit more since they have side sauces for you to use. I am highly recommending this place. Lastly the staff hair is always helping you making sure you are satisfy and meet all your needs. The lovely Sammi was always a tentative to our table ensuring we have what we need. Making sure if we needed more fire or more soup it was just awesome.
Boiling Point prices have definitely gone up in recent years. It's still delicious and satisfies your hot point cravings. It's relatively clean, when you come in you can waitlist on the iPad or they'll have a QR code for you to scan This BP location is in a very busy plaza with lots of dining options. I'd recommend coming before 6pm if you don't want to wait long. We always come before 6 since it's easy to park and we never have to wait more than 15 mins to get a table. Come later, parking can be a pain to find in the plaza and the waits become much longer. It's also one of the smaller BP locations I've been too. One downside to this location is probably the slow-ish service. Mainly in that, you really have to get their attention for anything (ordering, water, napkins, check, etc.). They're not proactive with the service, but when you do ask for something, they do it right away. Sometimes I'll see a table left alone without be cleaned for a while. Reminder - you can ask them to turn off your flame if it's too hot for you, ask for more flame if it's dying out or ask for more broth if you're running low. Honestly, you can't really go wrong with any of their options, it's really a matter of what you're craving and levels of spice. Each order comes with rice or vermicelli. You'll get a good mix of carbs, veggies, proteins. Safe options would be the beef since the house has stinky tofu that can take over the dish If you're not a fan of stinky tofu. I like stinky tofu, but not in their broth Other favorites of mine are the milk cream curry and lamb. Sometimes, they'll have a pomelo one as well and that's pretty good. I don't usually get a large options, but miso is good and if you like spicy, try the Taiwanese spicy. It's a blast. Overall a good BP location and the closest one for me to visit.
Boiling point is always satisfying when you are craving soup. Not too many places in the Southbay you can get Taiwanese/hot pot style soups so this is def a gem. If there are items in the soup you don't want you can just ask them to take them out. It does get busy so I always try to go during off times. Never has been an issue for me. Seats are super hard so I brought in my donut pillow lol. I haven't been here in years but most recently I got their Taiwanese Spicy. Comes in a large size and I def had leftovers. Spicy wise it is pretty spicy but if you like spicy food you'll be fine. If you're a medium spicy person it will prob be too spicy for you. I added more of their chili sauces for flavor. Usually I don't order drinks but I got a winter melon tea and the iced sweet drink paired well with the spicy soup.
As always, a visit here is a must when we're in town! Yes. The line and wait is long. Ah, as long as you have time, it's worth the wait! Had the beef (no spice) with extra cilantro. Used all the sauces except the chili, so there was a slight kick but not too much;)! Managed to almost finish my whole pot! Cheryl did the best at cleaning up her hot pot, I was second, and Jeni had to leave some in her pot unfinished. We were so stuffed we could barely breathe, ha ha! We chose noodles over rice, which comes pre packed ! They chose green tea and I chose the winter melon tea. Yum!!! Great service, great staff teamwork on moving guests through their dining experience so others may also enjoy, and their restroom is clean, spacious and bright. (Careful, the door is heavy...) Thanks again and we'll be back! Oh, they have a summer bowl special with Lu Wei appetizer. Do check that out!
Yes, in summertime we still eat hot soup. Lol My husband and I arrived about 10-15 minutes early and were second in line. Fernando, who was working that day, was so nice and offered to add our name to the list right away--I really appreciated that because not all places do this. Some restaurants make you feel like you're a bother if you show up early, but here we felt welcomed. The food was excellent! I ordered the Miso and my husband had the Curry. We also tried the Garlic Pork appetizer, which was delicious. The portions were very generous--we both ended up asking for to-go bowls. We also signed up for the rewards program, and we're definitely looking forward to coming back. Overall, an awesome place with great food and friendly service!
No garlic soy sauce no chopsticks no spoons we ordered 2 orders with 2 rice and given 1 small one. If you guys are us, will you eat these 2 orders sharing 1 small rice, wrong sauce, and eat by hands right? Let me see you guys eating soup with your hands. Your logic is cal tech ivy league class! Pretty small location, so it gets busy fast. Expect to wait during the dinner rush. Lunch is probably the best time to go due to less crowds plus their lunch special is a good deal. Food is decent. When it gets busy you have to hunt down the staff and ask if you want your flame turned off or your water refilled. Otherwise they're super friendly.
We love this BP location and that discovered that it's not too busy for weekday dinners as I had feared. I usually came for lunch and it's been crowded, but just before 6, it was ok, which was a relief since I had the kids in tow. They excel at satisfying the spicy craving, and everyone knows that already. But this time, I needed the not spicy to feed 2 yr old, and the beef at no spicy level was perfectly good for her, and still very delicious for me as well. We also got the miso which had just a hint of spicy oil and my 7 yr old liked it along with the beef. They have a whole set of condiments at every table so adults can always add or dip as desired if you are sharing with kids. They also had tiny udon bowls for free for kids, which was a good side for toddler, though she mostly liked my hot pot better. But just very nice when a restaurant is willing to accommodate the parents in any way. Had no idea how hard it is to eat out with little ones until I had them LOL. I also tried the mango aloe vera drink and it was delectable! It had big chunks of aloe and wasn't too sweet so it didn't interfere with dinner. The staff was quick and friendly, we got everything we needed, without delay. Thanks BP, we had a good birthday dinner.
Absolutely delicious! I'm fairly picky with soup, so I decided to get beef hot soup as a safe option. I did not regret it at all! It was so flavorful. The service was very attentive and helpful! For a party of 8 on new year's day it was a 40 minute wait. We went through a few shops that were in the plaza to kill time, and I highly recommend doing that too!
BP has always been a staple hot pot restaurant and it never fails. I usually opt for Taiwanese spicy but dang I forgot how spicy it was. Each hotpot has a good balance of vegetables, noodles, and meat. The most recent time I came here, we were literally the last ones on the waitlist!! thank god cuz I might've been pissed cuz I was hungry. Service is usually pretty fast considering how busy they are. But coming at night too close to closing time isn't good bc they run out of the little konjac jelly thing they give out at the end lol :p The only thing I really don't like about this place is how the tables are SUPER close together. Might as well eat on one big table all together hahahahaha Other than that, FIYA!
Came here during the weekday a little after the lunch rush and it wasn't super busy like it usually is. We didn't have to wait or join the waitlist at all but I noticed you join the waitlist bc is a QR code now, rather than signing in through their tablet. The lunch special is until 3 PM and comes with a drink, either green tea or winter melon juice. I got the beef hotpot in medium spice level with vermicelli noodles and it was pretty good. Not a painful kind of spicy. I like that the hotpots here are personal sized and usually if I'm really hungry I'm able to finish it but this time I couldn't and brought it home for a second meal. We also ordered a side of pork slices and it was plain, but tasted good when dipped in the broth. The waiter was friendly and checked to see if we needed additional broth/water added to our hotpot. It's a good spot for casual lunch or dinner with small groups or larger groups (recommend joining the waitlist earlier during busy hours).

Even in the heat, a comforting hot pot always hits the spot! We got the beef hot soup in medium spice level and extra pork on the side. As someone who can't handle that much spice, it definitely had a kick to it. I would get mild spice next time! I loved the veggies, vermicelli and seafood that came with it. Mixing the sauces all together makes the perfect dip. The portion is big, so sharing one was enough for the both of us. The service is good and efficient too, I would highly recommend if you're looking for a delicious casual meal. read more
Boiling Point is a comfort spot for me! It definitely hits the spot on a cold day like today. I came here around 4:00 p.m. and was seated right away! Definitely a plus because this place tends to get crowded. Food: 5/5 I got the beef soup, no spice. Even the mild tends to be spicy so just be aware of that. It comes with a side of rice or noodles. I love making my own dipping sauce using the garlic soy sauce, garlic paste, and chili oil. Also, they end the meal with this passion fruit jelly packet. YUM! Service: 4/5 No complaints. I appreciated that they checked up on you. Ambiance: 3/5 It can be a little darker in the restaurant. Plenty of seating for smaller parties. The bathroom is pretty gross...not gonna lie... Even though it happens to be the last place I've eaten with my last two serious relationships over the past four years, Boiling Point is still one of my favourite places to eat! It's that good....despite the associated heartache and memories! No matter what you order, you get a great mix of ingredients that heats up very quickly in front of you. Be ready for deliciousness that will fill you up! I've tried a number of spice options, and I think the medium spice is good enough. The higher spice levels are also tasty, but sometimes, I prefer to sweat a little less and not have such a crazy runny nose. The dipping sauces are great, and I think my favourite mix includes chili garlic and garlic soy. I have also learned to choose rice over noodles because the soup already contains noodles. There are only a few tables inside, so I have always experienced a line out in front of the restaurant. However, once you get in, the service is very fast, so expect to eat soon after you are seated and place your orders. They run an efficient kitchen! I know it's a chain, but it has such a small, local feel to it. Parking nearby can be rough because the lot is small, and there are a number of popular places to find good food and dessert in this plaza. However, there is an extension to this lot, and the walk is only an extra two minutes or so. Lastly, I found the food to be perfectly priced for how satiating everything is. My favorite place to get Taiwanese hot pot! This place serves a variety of different hotpots, all with its own unique broth flavor and items in the bowl. Currently, my personal favorite is the Tawainese Spicy bowl. It is one of their large offerings and it offers a lot of different meats, veggies, and ramen noodles. Every bowl also includes either a rice or vermicelli noodles and if you go during lunch you get a choice of green or black tea included. Do not underestimate the spice, Tawaianese people don't play when it comes to spice!!!! If it's your first time I always reccomend for people to try their beef bowl. It's a great starter! They also have delicious appetizers and an entire boba tea menu. The service at the location is great. Never once have I had a bad experience. The only complaint I would have is that this location can get super packed and the wait time can be forever. This is due to the fact that the restaurant is small compared to their other locations. So be prepared if you plan on going during rush hour! read more

Don't get thrown off by the picture. I didn't do anything to deserve that white stuff on the food... it's just cream, I swear! What I got was the milk cream curry, and it was delicious. I come here a lot and have tried the beef, miso, and house special. All are good, but the the milk curry Thai is my new favorite. Don't get thrown off by the curry part. It's still a light soup, but still has all the flavor as the rich curry that we all know and love. Plenty of meat and veggies that I don't even know what they are, but they taste good! Nice casual setting, and normal service. Went at 4PM and it wasn't too busy. But I know that the wait can be long at times. Good tip: the soup comes kind of hot so what I like to do is to ask the servers to not turn on the fire. That way, you won't burn your tongue. read more
This is my second visit. I was looking for something low calorie within driveable distance, so I decided to stop here. There is a tablet within the store where you can sign in to enter the waitlist. Unfortunately there's no way to do it remotely (afaik), but it would be nice as it'd be easier to time our visit to when we'd get called in. For reference, I came in around 2pm on a Wednesday, and the wait was around 20 minutes. The food itself is alright, but definitely not worth the price unless it's your first time or a special occasion. For this visit, I ordered the beef soup, which comes with extra meat (January promotion). Veggies get soft very easily, so I recommend eating it as soon as possible. As for the beef, it was definitely not the best of quality. The quality reminds me of the beef they use at a certain beef bowl chain. I think that for what it is, the entire soup should be $15. I also ordered the spicy fermented tofu. It was good, but again, definitely not worth the price (it should be half). Ambiance is alright. It has a "sausage" layout where everyone would just sit lined up. As for service, it was so-so. It seems like big parties get more attention than the smaller ones (which make sense, but I wish it was consistent no matter the size). The staff didn't smile and some seemed a little confused, but it didn't bother me since the product itself was good. read more
Awesome! Is the one word that describes it all. If you go during the busy Sunday lunch rush...Although there is a huge parking lot.... Parking is challenging. Do not be discouraged... it may take a couple of laps around, but you will find. The restaurant is clean and odor free Each of us got our boiling pot. The choice is hot or mild. If you are not someone that eats spicy food... mild will be spicy enough. If you want to order the veggie pot but would like a bit more of flavor (assuming you are not vegetarian) you can order it with beef broth. Through our meal server comes around to offer a re-fill on the broth!!!! AND the rice. We also got complimentary tea (choice or green or black). Overall... Boiling point is perfect for a rainy day! I love boiling point, but it is always so busy! We went for Wednesday lunch, and waited around 45 minutes. The lunch special is so worth it. You get the choice of green tea or black tea, and rice or vermicelli. You also pick a spice level: no spice, mild, medium, hot, or flaming. I usually am pretty good with spice but I stick to a medium here. A tip: even if there's open tables inside it might take you 20 min or so to get seated. Yum! It never disappoints. My go-to is the beef hot pot. One of my favorite parts of the meal is probably the dipping sauces. For those who can't handle as much spice like me, (even the mild is too spicy for me), I ask for no spice. But then I add the chili oil topping to my soup and it's perfect :) the only thing is they don't take reservations and there's almost always a wait during peak lunch/dinner times lol read more

We got boiling point to-go for lunch this past Sunday. We ordered our meals at the front counter, and our soups were ready within 15 minutes! The lunch deal is worth it - it comes with a soup, black or green iced tea, and rice or extra noodles. I got the mild beef soup, rice & the iced green tea. Green tea is a bit sweet, but has good taste. The soup was so warm. Such a good comfort food. The portion size was big too! I honestly can't tell a difference between the dinner vs lunch portion size. Only con about taking to-go is that they charge extra for extra sauces. read more

absolutely will forever and always love boiling point. if i don't have boiling point catering at my wedding, then an alien flew down and took over my body. my friends and i came on saturday around 8pm and we were the first on the waiting list which i was surprised about! usually the boiling points in 626 are packed but maybe we just caught the line at a good time. the waiters at this location were attentive and walk down the aisles to make sure each table are doing okay and if you do need assistance, just flag them down and let them know what you need. food was amazing as always. see u again soon boiling point ;) read more
Wanted some soup so we went to boiling point. This is my first time so I was trying to look at their menu. They have so many flavor and they already have everything in the pot was less of a headache for you to pick and choose what to put in your pot. The flavor of the broth was good. E X P E R I E N C E we rushed here after our flight. arrived around 1030pm. unfortunately there were already a few others waiting to be sat so dine in was closed. it was packed! we didn't get to enjoy the dine in experience. we did however do take out. we received our food in 15 mins! F O O D house, med, vermicelli lamb, med, vermicelli we were starving but the amount of food was incredible. we couldn't even finish. there was a good amount of variety of additions and a balance of umami flavor. My son was craving hot pot and knowing that he has a basic palate, I capitalized on the opportunity to have him eat something other than chicken and rice. I had planned on us going elsewhere for hot pot, but my son being my son, I had to cancel our reservation. So, I jump on yelp, to help me find another hot pot spot and remember this place in Gardena. We walk in, put our info on the waitlist and wait. We finally get called and we go in and get seated. First off, we weren't told that there was a QR code for the menu. And when we were finally given the QR code, seeing the menu options, they made no sense to me. When our waiter asked if we were ready to order, I told him I had no idea how to order and asked him where the soup options were. He explained to me that they were pre-made options and went through the list of available options. Im not sure if the look of confusion on my face changed his response to me, but I quickly adjusted my face and said I needed a minute to look at the menu, in order to figure out what I wanted to order. I'm not going to lie, I wanted to get up and leave, but my son wanted hot pot, so we placed our order and waited. And sure enough, our pre-made hot pot arrived. All that was going through my head was, "what the hell is this?" Flavor wise, the broth was delicious and the heat level we chose was perfect, but it was the concept that threw me. I will NEVER come back here. This is not hot pot, atleast not in the traditional sense, in my opinion. There were people there that liked it, loved it even, but it just wasn't for me. read more

I love boiling point, but lately I think their quality of meat is lacking. For the last few times the meat has a pretty strong gamey taste. Use to be really good. Oh well, nothing stays the same I suppose. Will not return anytime soon. read more
Been a while and my thoughts have changed! I actually really enjoy boiling point! I really love their garlic bean paste sauce too! They did have a note on their door end of last year saying they will increase prices again. When I came it was almost $17 for a pot at lunch. They do still give out free green or black tea during lunch. read more
This place was my go to back in college and it is still the same goodness as I remembered! What a trip down memory lane. Lamb pot is my go to always. Long lines, just put your info down on the iPad by the entry way (inside). Wait is usually about 30-45min. Service is quick! Food came out in about 15min of ordering. read more

We ordered the beef salad, curry base hot pot and the beef hot pot. We've been to Boiling Point several times and their hot pot menu items are pretty consistent regarding flavor and amount of food. The beef salad was good. I can't make out the flavor of the dressing or how the beef was cooked. It made my tongue tingle. I almost thought there's a spice to it but can't tell what it is. Overall, you can't go wrong with the hot pot menu items. read more

This is my favorite hot pot restaurants in LA! I've been eating the Beef menu many times and it's always on point! Hahaha You do have to wait for quite of a time on peak times but it's totally worth it:) I wish they expand the restaurant. read more

Always a great place to go to when it's cold. The broth warms you right up since it's piping hot. You can also always get more broth if you run out, just need to ask someone! The wait times can be a bit long since the space is so small. The sizes are good for the price point, I always get leftovers to take home. I usually get the milk cream curry and it's always so good. Getting it for lunch is the best since it comes with your choice of an iced green tea or iced black tea. There's a parking lot but sometimes can be busy and packed with small spaces. read more

I love boiling point! Their service is quick and amazing. The waiters are always attentive with refilling the garlic sauce and our broth. The restaurant itself is very clean and smells amazing throughout. Their Thai tomato dish wasn't the best. There was a vegetable root in there that made it very spurt. I had to remove it. But their beef and seafood dishes are the best! read more
