Some friends had me try some dumplings at their house. They were bigger than I'm used to and quite meaty. They told me where to go so here I went! I stopped by this place in between getting groceries in the nearby markets so it was a perfect stopping point! I ordered several items knowing I wasn't going to be able to finish all of it but take it home to my family to try as well. The cashier that helped me was really nice and the place is clean. Pork chop with Braised Pork Belly rice: it's only $10 and quite filling and delicious. For $3.50 more you can add potstickers. Can't complain 4 stars Chicken & corn potstickers: same fillings as their dumplings. The difference is that they are grilled so a bit of crispy edges. Super yummy 4 stars Fried wontons: these were just ok. Maybe it's because I'm like deep fried foods less and less as I get older. Who knows. 3 stars Old fashioned noodles: it's just noodles but seasoned really tasty. It's. It not spicy so you'll need to add your hot sauce if you like to live on the edge. 4 stars Frozen dumplings: I got the cabbage and pork dumplings in a bag. It's $25 for 50. Was craving some soup today for lunch and found this place online and decided to give it a try. I was skeptical at how it would be since they are known for their dumplings (but I wanted the beef noodle soup) decided to go in person instead of ordering online and i'm glad I did after reading some of the reviews that they won't give you sauces on to go orders :/ The place is spacious and has lots of seating. I will agree with some other reviews that stated there's not much of a friendly demeanor from staff (but no one was rude either), honestly as someone that's introverted this was fine sometimes I want to be left alone (and today was one of those days). The beef noodle soup was delicious and the bowl was massive I would 5/5 recommend. The broth was so flavorful, the meat was incredibly tender, and they gave me 3 massive pieces of meat. I thought $19 was steep until I saw the portion and realized this could easily feed 2 people. I ordered three dishes none of which were bad but not impressive either. The dumplings were dry (staff didn't include any sauce packets nor did they offer any) and the wrapper was too thick for the amount of meat and cabbage inside. The hot and sour soup was neither hot nor sour. The beef noodle soup was probably the better dish. However there was very little beef and what was there was tough and chewy and not digestible. There's free water at the sauce station where you can also DIY your own dipping sauce with soy sauce, vinegar, garlic sauce, and chili sauce. The signature noodles I didn't like the taste of until I added extra vinegar, garlic sauce and chili sauce. The flavor profile just wasn't for me, but that's why it's nice that they have the sauce bar. The noodles were well cooked and texture was nice. It doesn't come with any meat or anything, just green onion. The signature gyoza was pretty good! It has cabbage and pork filling. Kind of oily but eh most gyozas are. The cold side dish was just ok. Don't get the ones with the tofu strings since there was little to no flavor. Very bland. The peanuts were surprisingly good (good texture, salted) but... I mainly got it for the tofu strings. Overall it's not gonna be the best meal ever but it's solid for a quick bite at a reasonable price. It had a generous portion of noodles and tender beef and a couple pieces of turnip. I ordered their pork chop combo which came with a serving of their old fashioned noodles. Pork chop came out first, and we finished it before the noodles were ready. The old fashioned noodles are better than the signature noodles in my opinion. It has a soy sauce flavor as opposed to a sesame flavor. Everything is self service where you order at counter and wait for your buzzer to go off. You pick up your own tray of food and buss your own table when done. There were a few newer dishes on the menu. Prices have gone up since last time we were there. They're professional and take their time explaining the different options. They also have a kiosk if you don't want to wait. The typical wait time for your food is about 10-15 min here. Ambiance is more on the quiet/mild noise side. Never had an issue holding a conversation. The food was good. Enough to make you full or even question about saving the rest for later. The noodles are yummy but I can't seem to put my finger on the sauce. The pork chop is delicious too. It always reminds me of Taiwan. It's on the thinner side but this is probably intentional. Husband recently went here for lunch, and brought me back some of his leftovers, so keep that in mind for this review. Would definitely like to go back to try their food hot and fresh in person. That being said, the wonton soup was tasty! A little bit oily, but light and flavorful. The wontons were soft and juicy, and also had a good flavor to them. The potstickers had a great silky wrapping, and again juicy meat on the inside. Definitely tasty and solid food. I definitely agree with the most recent review on 2/10 before mine about staff. I would've given four stars as well, but somehow in my most recent visit it just spiraled down to two. I know you don't need to be overly welcoming or friendly to customers, but being polite and accommodating is definitely something that is very important with customer satisfaction. My husband and I have been going to this place regularly, mostly after my 12 hour shifts, or when we're really craving Bafang noodles. We like this location more than the Village Del Amo location because the noodles are more tasty here. I have always ordered mine a certain way too because I really genuinely like their sesame sauce, so I would usually order the Beef Dry noodle with a SIDE of sesame sauce. Almost always until my visit last Monday when my husband asked if I could get a TOGO order before he got home from work. When I came up to order to go for my usual order, the cashier (an older asian man) suddenly told me that I could not have it that way--that I could not order a side of sesame sauce with my Beef Dry Noodle because they do not make it like that, and that it is not meant to be eaten with sesame sauce. That those two sauces don't go together. Okay, well, I like some protein on my noodles and I genuinely enjoy the sesame sauce, so I asked politely if I could just get the sesame noodles by ITSELF with an ADDITIONAL SIDE order of the beef instead. Lo and behold, apparently that was a NO go too! He said that he could not do that too. So, I was pretty much dumbfounded and flustered because I've been ordering Beef Dry Noodle with a side of sesame sauce ever since they came out with the Beef Dry Noodle on the menu--which has been a very long time. Abruptly having it not allowed was very confusing to me. It's what I look forward to when I eat there! As a person I am also very introverted so I shut down; I was silent because I didn't know how else to order it--the cashier had a look of contempt which was not helping at all, and the cogwheels in my head were turning so hard to figure out a way I could just enjoy it the way I wanted to (there was no line behind me and I was the only one ordering this entire time since they just opened 20 mins prior). Then, the cashier guy said that for this one time that he'd do it. A "special order" just for me, but in the future that I could not ask for that EVER again. I was honestly getting irritated because it's not like I am asking for the side to be free, and that statement hurt--all for what? I was just asking for sesame sauce on the side! I am willing to pay for the extra side that is why I AM ASKING FOR IT ON THE SIDEEEEEEEee. Okay sorry, I was genuinely upset--I unfortunately still am when I think back to it. Tbh it's kind of funny since this is just about me trying to enjoy a side sesame sauce THAT I COULDN'T GETttt. Talk about hangry issues. Long story short, my husband told me to not go there by myself to order and to wait for him (he's the same ethnicity) hoping he could clear some air since I was crying on the drive home out of wet genuine anger/frustration because I couldn't enjoy my usual comfort noodles the way I wanted to, but I'm aware I wasted my tears and that to them it's just another day of a dumb customer coming up. The double edged sword of being such a big empath and an introvert--way to bottle up the feels. This world is brutalllll. If you order everything by the menu with no modifications you should be fine. There are self-serve stations for water and some sauces (unfortunately no sesame sauce). You wait with a buzzer and pick up the food when it buzzes! I'm not sure why this visit was so trippy though. The Gardena location is where we frequent and anytime we've gone, the place is clean with ample seating. We have also found parking easy even though it's a busy plaza. Our top orders include the Signature Noodles, the pork chop, the Spicy wontons, and the dumplings. Their food tastes pretty good and the flavors have remained the same unlike other places where the flavor tends to differ depending on the cook. I also like that they sell frozen dumplings which are a good to have at home. The only reason this isn't a five star is because their staff can be more welcoming. Even when I've tried to engage them by asking how their day is going, you can tell they really don't want to talk. They are not rude. They just need to be lively and personable. A smile and maybe small talk with customers can go a long way with customer satisfaction. Overall, I would still recommend this for a quick dim sum/noodle fix. read more

The restaurant was empty (which is a common scene) and the person in front didn't utter a work when I came in. Not personable at all. This rating is specifically for the wonton soup at Bafang Dumpling. Although I've tried out the dumplings, meat and noodle dishes, the wonton soup is what brings me back every time. It's hot (temperature wise), flavorful, packed full of dumplings and filling. I can have the soup as a meal and be fully satisfied. Sometimes it's a bit of a wait if you don't order in advance and I rarely eat at the restaurant. They do have seating inside and it's always clean. My local location! I've been here at least 2 times prior to writing, with my last visit being my first time dining in. Food (4.5/5): - Fresh and consistent whether it's for dine-in or take-out. Service (4/5): - Staff is friendly and wait time is at least 10 minutes to receive order. - You can order through tablet. Though, if they could move it at little further from the wall (so there's more shoulder space), it would be more comfortable. Ambience (4.5/5): - Self-serve condiments area is consistently clean. - Sausage-like store layout but has an option for bar/counter seating, which is perfect when dining solo. - Generally feel the location is clean. - Parking is limited. It might be difficult to find parking right in front of the store during peak hours, but there is larger parking (shared with the supermarket) and the walk is less than 5 minutes. Honestly, don't get the dumplings here, there's no flavor [even when you get the 'Bafang Signature'] Get the 'Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup' - it's better than pho in my opinion and the beef is soft and melts in your mouth. Dip the meat in either the hot sauce or my favorite, garlic sauce. The flavor of the soup outweighs the lack of taste of dumplings so that's why I still give it 5 stars. Bafang Dumpling is from Taiwan and you know it's legit when my mom's friends are excited about the food. We've been a couple of times and have ordered the beef noodle soup both times and it's delicious. My daughter loves the signature dumplings. I love spicy wontons in general and ten to order it whenever I see it on the menu and these did not disappoint. Am I ready to try the other items on the menu? Yes. Potstickers and dumplings from Taiwan?! Yes please! Bafang Dumpling is such a great addition to Gardena! There's really not other place that sells potstickers and dumplings like this in the area (you'd probably have to go all the way to the 626 area to get anything like this), so it definitely creates some diversity in the South Bay's food scene! They are most known for their potstickers and dumplings. You can order in 6 or 12 pieces. Both potstickers and dumplings come in three different types: Signature, Kimchi and Pork, and Corn and Chicken. The potstickers have that nice crispy side, while their dumplings are steamed. They also have some dry noodle dishes and beef noodle soup. I really like their Signature Noodles! Good flavor and better than their Old Fashioned Noodles (a bit bland), in my opinion. They also have fried pork chop and chili pepper fried chicken. I really like that they have a variety of combos, so you can get two different food items for your meal. It makes ordering easier too! They have lots of seating, but it can get pretty crowded during peak meal times. You order at the counter, and you can grab some of their cold appetizers from the open refrigerator to add onto your meal. They will give you a pager, and when it goes off, you pick up your food at the counter. If you're curious how the potstickers and dumplings are made, they have a window area that you can peek inside and check it out! Bafang Dumpling is located in Gardena Marketplace. The side Bafang is on has a smaller parking lot, but there is ample parking in the larger shopping plaza parking lot if the small one fills up. read more
