As a Korean, who has enjoyed much kbbq, Shilla remains my favorite in LA. The nicest ladies who are so quick and attentive! Better meat quality than most others in the area (even some colored cow ‍) Love the homey vibe and ample (private!) parking. They even gave us wasabi to try with our steak. Will always come back

This spot has a great combo where you can get beef and pork. The combo meat quality is very good! Once I ordered more and ordered à la carte the meat quality seemed to drop. I got the beef tongue which was sliced very thin like you would get at ayce spots. I would recommend getting the combos the meats were great! Pork belly is tasty with no gamey taste. Service was good with Korean aunties helping out and refilling the side dishes. They also cook for you here but sometimes can get overcooked so I prefer cooking at my own past.

If you're looking for one of the best Korean BBQ spots you have to come to Shilla KBBQ in Gardena. I've tried tons of AYCE and premium BBQ places around LA and OC, but this one definitely stands out for how fresh the meat is and how much variety they offer. We ordered the combo that came with thick-cut brisket, pork belly, and short rib, and every single cut was so juicy and flavorful. You can really taste the quality -- it's not the kind of place that overloads on marinade to hide cheap meat. Even their banchan (side dishes) were fresh and well-seasoned -- I loved the kimchi and fish cake, and their salad had this tangy dressing that was actually addicting. They also have a shabu-shabu bar where you can grab vegetables, tofu, seafood, and noodles to cook at your table, which I thought was such a fun touch! The seafood pancake was crispy on the outside and soft inside, and the naengmyeon (cold noodles) were the perfect way to finish the meal. Service was quick and friendly even though the place was packed. Our server came by often to change the grill and refill banchan without us asking, which made the whole experience even better. The restaurant itself is clean, spacious, and modern, so it feels nice and comfortable even during busy hours. Honestly, this spot is a 10/10 for me -- whether you're craving high-quality KBBQ, a fun night out with friends, or a date night spot that isn't too stuffy but still impressive. Highly recommend trying their combo with short rib and finishing off with kimchi fried rice at the end -- you won't regret it!

I can't believe I just found out about this place. This is such a legit spot for Korean food. I'm talking authentic, hard to find dishes that I haven't had in years. Everything I had is excellent. The beef tartare is some of the best I've had, and my friend from Korea said it's better than the ones he's had in Korea. The kbbq is great too, but if you are willing to go out on a limb, try some of the dishes that aren't kbbq. Everything I tried was AMAZING. I loved the spicy octopus stir fry in the stone bowl. Nostalgic dish for me and incredibly well done here, just like my mom's cooking but less spicy. It's not too spicy so it's very approachable. It's a full service restaurant so they cook all the kbbq for you. Our server was just the cutest and nicest lady ever. What a lovely small business to support!

Was craving kbbq and found Shilla! Super chill vibe, they cook for you and were nice. Got the combo and it was delicious! Ordered beef tongue and rib eye after which were kind of mid, the banchan was ok too. Soju was nice and refreshing, They were fast at cooking and it was great service.

Good meat at this kbbq spot! Came here for the first time and was pleasantly surprised by the quality. It is not an ACYE location but they have great combos. Most of the servers are very kind but one lady was a bit cold. I love the variety of side dishes at this spot. Inside is a classic kbbq restaurant without the oily floors.

04.23.2025 Went here for a lunch function with Coworkers. Sat us down for a party of 5. Ordered Korean Short Ribs and Beef brisket. Received all within 5 minutes. The meats were placed on top of a weird burner. I have not seen a burner like this before. It's unique. All the cooking was performed by our server. We did not have to touch a thing! All work was done hands free. Kudos to that process. Meats were fresh and delicious. No complaints. Good place !! Jenny did a good job! Her service was exceptional. Food was delicous. Place is Clean. Ambiance was modern but not to modern to a point where they play loud rap or techno music. The place wasn't busy when we got there for opening lunch which was a big plus. Overall, this place treated you nice and the taste was excellent. I would definitely come back again. This place is worthy.

Everything was delicious!! My husband and I ordered Shilla B combo. There was a lot of meat (pork belly, and 2 beef). Their banchan was amazing. My husband and I really enjoyed their kimchi. It was fresh and with a crunch with enough spice and sourness. They cooked the meats for us and it even came with cheese corn, steamed egg, and a starter soup. Service was amazing! They were really welcoming and cooked the meats perfectly. Nice ambiance. I really liked their kimchi thing it was cooked in. Not your typical grill.

The new shabu shabu menu they brought thinking it will be easy is ridiculous. First off, they will ONLY permit two meat at a time regardless of how many people were visiting. We had three people by the way and the thinly sliced meat went right in the broth and they had to bring out another two trays anyway so what was the big deal to focus on two plates? NOBODY knows. The buffet area was also pretty empty and they were not bothered to refill it either. I liked it so much better when it was just a BBQ and the Shabu Shabu needs to go

I arrived at this place through a quick google search. I was in the mood for Korean BBQ and in…read moreGardena so the visit was produced by convenience and chance. And, although, I found this place to be good, in the sea of Korean BBQ places this place remains just good, maybe standard, and does not stand head and shoulders above the rest. But I do not mean that as an insult, and if one has perspective this can be praise. For instance, take a ninja. He might not be the ninja that is destined to wheel the throwing stars of destiny, but he still had a stedy career within a vast ninja army. Moreover, being able to steadily continue amongst many might not earn you gold stars on your forehead, but at least it keeps one going on their path till they are ready put their sword and nunchucks down. In other words, there is nothing wrong with being good on average because not all people can climb a mountain in a mythic way, some people climb the mountain through their own speed and step, and never give up, they just stay on their path of good. My partner in bite and I stuck to only three meats--- the chicken, the brisket and the pork belly. And all of these bites were solid but the pork belly was a standout bite. To say that the pork belly was yummy! would be an understatement, for the pork belly was yummy!!!I. I took the brsket, their cabbage salad, a brown sauce that was sweet, and chicken and rice and mixed it in the cabbage salad bowl. All the flavors working together was what made the food spectacular, it had become an ensemble that carried the meal. Truly, the sum of the parts made the whole a flavor blast. In contrast, my dining buddy took a spoon put rice on top, then the brisket on top, then dunk the spoon into a small dish with the brown sweet sauce then deposited the full spoon into his mouth. He assembled each spoonful. I note this to remind all of us that there is no wrong way to eat because I mixed, he assembled, someone else might construct while another might create using the spoon as a brush and the sauce to stroke across a plate. This place did have some practices that were all of its own. My favorite was the water kettle that was brought and poured into the fire to quell its flames. It felt ceremonial, like the kings of the past saw these kettles used when their fire flames needed to be extinguished when they were done with the meal. I also never had a korean noodle soup as part of a korean bbq experience. It kind of tasted like chicken noodle soup more than a korean soup. Some of the small side dishes include radish, and rice paper. Imagine small tortillas. One can use them to make small "tacos" with meat, and vegetables. I just used a lazy explanation to describe the Korean papers and their purpose. It kind of broke the spell of the Korean dining experience. But I went with the words that the server used to explain the papers as well. And there is no clearer way to explain the use of the small circular rice paper wraps than to say one will assemble small Korean tacos with them. There was also potato salad, Kimchee, and other flavor builders. For me it is always fun to construct and enhance my plates with the use of all available to me. And when eating Korean bbq the possibilities are maybe endless. The service was engaging and attentive. Our grill got changed maybe like four times, and there was the kettle that was used to lessen the fire. I did clip a video of the fire ablaze. The fire was high- for a korean bbq grill- and it was tall probably taller than I have ever seen at a Korean place. So this place this offer me that. My partner in grill, noted that the place does not offer us to take meats home. And that they might charge for uneaten food. He worried that we were going be charged at the end for not eating all our meat but we did not leave a lot behind. We just left enough for it to be known as the standard amount that one leaves behind when one engages on AYCE Korean BBQ experience.

Now for the good things which there is a lot: The meat is great. I've noticed that the more popular Korean bbq spots like Gen or 92 in Torrance don't have good meat. This place 100% does. It tastes fresh. As for sides, you get kimchi, white rice, and a couple other things but there's also cilantro & onion mixed together which I thought was different. You get a salad and the assortment of sauce they provide was delicious. Their beer selection is mid but they offer soju too. I'm not very picky with beer. I enjoyed cass with my dinner. The brisket was great and if you like beef bulgogi, you would select their sirloin which is the same. The workers are incredibly friendly. They will change your grill, help put your food on the grill for you, clear out your table, etc etc. They all are very attentive. The tables are circular which is odd and then there's one big table in the back which is kind of in its own little room. I came on a Wednesday night and it was slightly busy so I can only imagine what a weekend night is like here. The music is fun & the food truly is 5 stars. I love Moon bbq. I will be back!

I had seen some social media posts raving about this place & with this being located in the South Bay area, I knew it was going to be worth the drive. There are 3 different courses to choose from, Tenma Omakase $50 - appetizers of pickled vegetables, beef soup, 5 varieties of wagyu meat, curry rice, today's dessert. Butcher Omakase $75 - appetizers of pickled vegetables, beef soup, US Wagyu sashimi, 7 varieties of meat, curry rice, today's dessert. Wagyu Omakase $90 - appetizers of pickled vegetables, beef soup, US Wagyu sashimi, 7 varieties of meat, curry rice, Chef's special dessert. You have a choice of beef curry or upgrading for A5 Wagyu sushi $10 & adding uni for another $10. I got the Butcher Omakase with the A5 Wagyu sushi topped with uni. They bring the big slab of wagyu sushi & literally torch it to give it an added flavor. It was definitely good but I would actually skip the uni as the creamy flavor of uni & the fatty wagyu flavor cancel each other out. It diminishes the greatness of 2 amazing ingredients. The beef soup is a consommé made from the wagyu bones/trimmings & it has such a richness, the bold umami flavor really leaves you speechless. The pickled vegetables and kimchi were okay. I would have preferred spinach goma-ae or something like a small cucumber & wakame salad. Each course of meat was slightly different. There were 3 different cuts of tongue, all good but the cut from the underside of the tongue was a bit chewy. As each course came, the meat quality & flavor kept getting better! All of us agreed that the best & the star of the Omakase is/was the Wagyu Sukiyaki!! The sweet smell of the sukiyaki sauce drizzled over the wagyu as it sizzled on the grill was drool-worthy. Once it was quickly cooked, the wagyu is dipped into the whipped sukiyaki cream! It looked so weird but it was absolutely heavenly!! You can order small bowl of ramen or extra cuts of different wagyu but the Sukiyaki Wagyu is not available a la carte or as an extra serving. Darn it! The dessert was a Hoji-cha purin (pudding or more like flan). I've never had Hoji-cha purin & it was actually as good if not better than matcha to end the scrumptious meal. The service there was top notch, each dish was explained well and they cooked the meat quickly with attention to detail, good presentation. Our waitress even came out from behind the counter to take pictures of our extended family by the wall sign next to the front door! Wagyu Butcher has a wrap around rectangular counter seating only so it is a bit tricky to seat in a big group. We had 6 of us and it was hard to have a conversation with everyone. The only problem I saw with this seating arrangement was how they accommodate guests in wheelchairs or special mobility devices. Maybe they have a table in the back corner that I didn't see from where I sat. We all want to go back again for the next special occasion dinner! It was worth every minute of the drove down & more!!

We gave this place a try because we were excited to see they have Rice Wine here (since most of the mainstream KBBQ places didn't have this), and we were satisfied beyond our expectations. Parking: A very small dim lot next to the restaurant. Right below the small sign that sits above it. Ambience: We came on a Saturday night (7:00pm) expecting busy wait times but we called in and there was no wait! We were immediately seated. It's a very small restaurant, the booths are big enough to fit a family but bigger parties may need to call in to see if space is available. The vibes are especially different from most bigger and popular places but this qualifies as a hidden gem for sure. Service: Quick and nice! Second time coming to a place where they cook it for you at some points and serve you. They check on you often enough and were quick to see you get all that you ordered. Food: Absolutely nothing I've never had before, we knew we wanted brisket and pork belly, we skipped out on the combos + intestine sections bc of this. Luckily our two meat combo qualified us to also receive a soybean paste soup, steamed egg, and corn cheese for free! We additionally added rice paper to our order for a small charge. The menu is vast and I would like to come back here to try their different meats. I have never had a more flavorful brisket in my KBBQ experience before and the pork belly was thick enough and had that chewiness texture that made it so enjoyable. Employee was nice enough to inform us that the soup + steamed egg are carefully cooked with real flavorful ingredients, so expect high-quality. We didn't go into this place expecting AYCE since we believe places that offer à la carte specializes in quality, so please come with the same idea if you choose to go here! Regardless, our small bodies were filled by how much food we received! Overall, I gave this place a chance despite its smaller reviews, smaller atmosphere, and a generally smaller presence this had in comparison to its competitors. I would suggest you do the same too!
