#hurricanematthew. RAIN RAIN go away !! A steady downpour all day long. The power went out for about 5 hours. No shower.....can't open the fridge. So where do we go .......BOJANGLES !!!! I had the four piece Cajun filet snack pack. Hubby had a 3 piece meal with fries. You always know what to expect from BOJANGLES and we have never been disappointed. The chicken was juicy and delicious. The tea was perfectly sweet. You don't have to dress up. We brought it home and were pleasantly surprised that our power was restored.

Seriously BoJangles? $ 17.18 for an 8-piece chicken box w/ biscuits and a so-called "large" order of fries ? Someone thinks waaaaaay too highly of their mediocre chicken. And I call it mediocre because unless it is Hot and Fresh... it becomes mediocre! Ours was room temperature after a short, 4-minute drive home. And the large order of Fries; well, look at the photo. (THESE WERE $3.19 !!!) Now, I realize that the cost of things have gone up.. always have - always will. But I can still get a nice Rotisserie Chicken at most grocery stores for $4.99 - $7.99. Is the Bojangles worth $6-9 more? Methinks not.. especially for stale food and unfilled boxes! Hope you enjoy my money.. it's the last you'll see from me!

I ORDERED BACON PAID FOR IT AND NEVER GOT IT. WHAT THE HELL BOJANGLES!!!

We also had the spicy peach margarita and I highly recommend trying this spin on a classic. It was a very refreshing margarita that was freshly made and not overly sweet. The shoestring okra is an appetizer that you have to try. I honestly could have eaten two plates, it is perfectly crispy and a bit spicy with a great aioli dipping sauce. We also had the heirloom tomatoes with goat cheese and the pork rinds and pimento cheese. They were all devoured and enjoyed by all. I ordered the cornmeal crusted catfish with grits and blistered okra. I honestly can't remember the last time I enjoyed a meal so much. The catfish and the grits paired together perfectly. We also had jambalaya and pork schnitzel. I can't wait to return. The waitress was very knowledgeable and the ambiance was great for a girl's night. They even brought a cake out for the birthday we were celebrating.

It has been a Raleigh institution for nearly 30 years, serving breakfast and lunch with a focus on traditional Southern home cooking. It's a classic North Carolina country restaurant filled with regulars, simple furnishings, brick columns, ceiling fans, and happy diners enjoying long lunches. Restaurants like this are becoming increasingly rare. This restaurant is well known across North Carolina and much of the Southeast. I am always surprised by how many people throughout North Carolina, east and west, know of it and have eaten here. It has been featured on WRAL's Tar Heel Traveler series featuring Scott Mason. The inside reminds me of restaurants that were built in the 1970s and 1980s and simply never felt the need to modernize. The terrazzo-style floor, brick columns, vinyl chairs, and ceiling fans all contribute to an authentic, lived-in atmosphere. It feels like a place designed for regular customers who want to remain in a time of family-owned local restaurants with loyal employees who know many of their patrons by first name. Their menu is unique and includes all-day breakfast featuring hand-patted sausage, country ham, homemade biscuits, red-eye gravy, grits, pancakes, and omelets; daily lunch specials that, depending on the day, include fried chicken, barbecue chicken, meatloaf, fried catfish, country-style steak, hamburger steak, pork chops, fried seafood, and turkey with dressing and gravy. Fresh vegetables also change daily and often include collards, butter beans, cabbage, squash and onions, yams, cucumbers, black-eyed peas, and other Southern staples such as fried okra. Meals are served with biscuits and hush puppies, reinforcing the old-fashioned Southern diner experience. Today, I had roasted turkey with plenty of gravy over dressing. It came with cranberry sauce. You get two sides, and I had black-eyed peas and fried okra. The turkey was moist, and the gravy seemed homemade, covering the turkey as it rested on a bed of dressing. The fried okra had an even golden coating, and the black-eyed peas seemed slow-cooked and homemade. This is exactly what I've come to expect here. They always live up to their well-earned reputation as a place specializing in Southern comfort food. I drank a half-and-half mix of sweet and unsweetened iced tea. No need to ask for a refill; the pitchers of both are left on the table. But that doesn't mean you'll miss your waitress for very long; she'll check on you regularly. In other words, the service is every bit as good as the food, with plenty of old-fashioned Southern hospitality. Important things to consider when planning a trip: They only serve breakfast and lunch. They are open 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to noon on Saturday, and are closed Sunday and Monday. They accept cash and checks only--no credit cards, debit cards, Apple Pay, Venmo, or other electronic payment methods. The prices are reasonable enough that they won't break your wallet or checking account. There is an ATM on the premises for your convenience. I can't wait to go back. Great food, great service, great hospitality, and always a great experience.

I understand as if you aren't seated when they open, you can expect a 90-minute to two-hour wait. I was hoping to get the Chicken Pot Pie this time and thought my prior visit was just off. I was thrilled that most of the menu was available. They were just out of the banana pudding. So I got to try the pecan wings I read about with the white sauce. It was so good. Then I got the chicken pot pie and biscuits. The pot pie had old biscuits for the topping, but the creamy mixture with large chunks of chicken was delicious. My biscuits came with honey and were served warm. I left with a slice of the chocolate-caramel-coconut cake, a side salad without onions, and a fried boneless thigh. The salad was made correctly, and the dressing was included. The salad was full of veggies, and the cake was rich and moist. Service was friendly and as soon as I finished my iced tea, another appeared. My wings were brought out first and it was a while for the rest of the meal as the restaurant was full. But they didn't rush me at all. I actually liked the space between the dishes, as I might not have been able to eat it all otherwise. I couldn't finish both biscuits and was even provided a container for the honey. I am going to miss Beasley's, but I'm glad I got a positive experience to remember the restaurant.

I almost didn't go, because I thought this was the downtown Durham restaurant, which is nice, but parking nightmare. Glad I went, though. The food was solid. I had the fired chicken sandwhich and fries the first day, a buffalo chicken wrap the second day, and the smoked chicken wings the third day, yes, 3 in a row. That has to say something, especially for me. All lunch items were pretty spot on, although I like a little more vinegar in my slaw than most. That was remedied by the texas pete on the bar. The service staff were all hands on. If the bartender was not there, the manager or a back of the house person was always checking on me. Very nice staff. As far as the ambiance itself, nice setup. Good sized bar, nice big patio, clean indoor and restrooms... all in all, I could not ding them for anything. I need to go to check out the weekend brunch or dinner menu. I am sure that I will not be disappointed, however, I have been told to get to brunch before noon, as it gets very busy, also a good thing. Cheers. :)

By the time we were leaving, a line had started to build, so if you're planning a weekend brunch here, I'd recommend getting there on the earlier side.
