Parking is difficult, so prepare to park on the street and most of the street is metered. Also, this place is very small. After living in LA for about a year now. I've decided Bollywood is definitely my favorite Indian restaurant. Not only has all of the food that I've tried there been fabulous. But the staff are always super friendly, attentive and accommodating. This last time I went, I asked if they could make a specific dish, Paneer Tikka Masala. The staff said it was no problem and just like I knew it would be, it was super delicious. The lunch specials are a good deal, as well as their "dinner for two". I'd come here a few times a week at least if they weren't so far away. Sad face. I really can't get enough of Bollywood Cafes tasty food. read more

I'm always on a biryani quest which brought me to this spot in Studio City. I came on a quiet Friday night and parked on the street where meters are free after 8pm. I got seated quickly but when I was leaving there was a bit of a wait for small and large parties. I got the chicken biryani, raita and naan. They brought papad with chutneys after I ordered which was a nice touch. The biryani had boneless chicken which was cooked well. The flavors were not out of this world but it was reasonably priced Indian food with generous proportions. I'll probably be back with a bigger group next time so I can try out more of the dishes. The service was quick and efficient and they were friendly even when it got crowded. Solid place for a good intimate dinner. read more

The restaurant opens at 5pm for dinner. I got there at 5pm to order. I am LUCKY the chef was in the dining area to knock some common sense into the guy. The "waiter" was VERY rude. I felt like I had to BEG him to take my order. The chef finally stepped in and was professional. The food is GREAT, but the service is TERRIBLE. I am never spending another dollar in that establishment again. You can't keep mistreating your customers NO matter what culture it is. Green is green. read more

I have to admit that I have not tried very many Indian Restaurants. That being said, I do recall Indian food having a lot more flavor than this place. The service was great, the waiter or waiters were very attentive and there were other clients eating during the lunch hour I was there. I tried the Chicken Curry, comes with plenty of rice and naan. I ordered medium spicy, thinking I would get some spice since there is mild, medium, hot and hotter. The portion was decent, but I would hate to think what the mild would taste like since the medium had very little flavor and spice. In any event, I have had better tasting Indian food, sadly I do not recall where exactly, but thinking west of this place somewhere in Encino. I do not want to completely trash this place since again not too family with Indian Cuisine, but I might have to just try this place again and order spicier to see if that changes by palate. read more

My 10 year old son and I went in for a bite around 8 pm on Friday (Fathers Day 2019). This place was walking distance from our motel. Every one the servers was energized and alert to our seating and making us feel welcome and comfortable. Super quick to get us water and complementary pappadum with three spectacular (all very different) sauce condiments. Pappadum was crispy and salty just the way it should be. We were just hungry enough only for a snack and it was my boy's first Indian food experience so we ordered very little. We enjoyed the appetizer- Onion Pakora. Delicious! All what we did have was splendid! So flavorful and unique from what we are used to day to day. I hadn't had Indian food in years! We had the Garlic Naan with a side of Onion Chutney. Soooooo good. Have been coming to this place for the last 7 years and love this place. From my first visit to the last, both food and service have been extremely exceptional. I've visited many Indian restaurants and none of them has matched Bollywood cafe. The shrimp or chicken tikka masala are always my go to. The variety apperizer platter is always a good choice with chicken, beef, lamb, and kabob. From there it's easy to pick your main course. Overall great place and you will never run out of water in your cup. read more
