We were highly disappointed with Bollywood Grill's customer service, food and the quantity served. It was not even worth with the living social deal. Ordered two dishes "Malai Kofta for $12.99" and "Chicken Wajid Ali for $13.95" along with appetizers, veg biryani, nan, desert etc and they used same gravy in both the dishes. Taste was not at all authentic and they had served one piece of chicken for $13.99 which was not even enough for one and a very small bowl of biryani for $12.xx. We bought the living social deal online and after using the coupon, they were so upset that none of them bothered to greet us when we left even when they were all standing by the door. Extremely pathetic customer services and poor food quality. Not at all worth visiting this place ever. It's owner was rude and impatient as I did not take the print out of the coupon and opened the coupon using app in front of him which took a couple of minutes. Please do notice that almost all the other positive reviews are given by non Indian members who might be getting a better service (if not food) which is usually a case in any Indian stores/restaurants/shops. This is certainly not a place for authentic Indian food and excellent customer service is out of question for such Indian businessman. read more

It was Sunday before St. Pattie's Day and as I navigated a Juneau Avenue full of party people, we arrived at Bollywood. Thank goodness for off street parking, what a luxury! The front entrance is kind of depressing. It looks like an unused room with dirty storefront windows. The dining room looked nice at first glance, as did the lunch buffet. We were in a party room in the back. I'm usually not swayed by looks, but the white tablecloths beneath the clear plexiglass on the tables were filthy. The plexiglass table tops had a film on them like they were not thoroughly cleaned. The carpet also looked matted and dirty. Isn't this place fairly new? I wouldn't expect it to be in the state that it was. I'm sure this place has a lot of traffic, especially during the week, and I'm sure it has everything to do with the food! I love the authenticity of this place. The signs above the dishes on the buffet are in Hindi and the spread is beautiful. I started with a plate of fluffy basmati rice. I dotted the rice with a little bit of each dish. I'm thankful that the goat curry sign was in English. I swerved around that one (yes, I'm a wuss when it comes to goat "anything")! Most of the dishes were a creamy, under seasoned sauce. I'm usually not one to salt my food but it was needed here. Occasionally I would eat something that burned my face off, but everything was mostly mild and okay. The buttered bhutura was epic, as was the tandoori chicken. There was also an orange mash of something with cashews and bit of corn that was decadent. Vegetable pakora is my favorite dish at an Indian restaurant, and here it was mostly batter with very little vegetable. I'm not sure I would return for the reasons stated, but I'm on the fence. read more

Nice atmosphere with good service but the food in the buffet was WAY TOO SPICY!!! I enjoy a little spice but it was probably a 9 out of 10 on the spice scale. It wasn't just one dish either, it was all of them (besides dessert). I probably won't be back because of this. I'd like to start off by saying the two stars is not necessarily for the food but my overall experience. The food here is about a 3/5, good but not anything you can't find at another Indian restaurant in Milwaukee. The service is subpar to say the least. I walked in 30 minutes before close and was told I'm my friends and I would not be able to sit and eat. The "manager" told us take out is only available even though there were families still eating in the dining room. The manager had an extremely aloof presence, we were literally treated like trash. We took a Lyft to the restaurant so my friend and I were waiting for my significant other to pick us up. Even after 10 there were still families eating in the dining room though we were denied a seat. In reality, if he would've let us sit we would've been done eating at about the time everyone left. We didn't receive a smile, an apology, not anything. I wouldn't recommend going here, the food is not worth the terrible attitudes and service. read more

We decided to try out the new version of Mayura. The new space is larger and more inviting. Thankfully they got rid of the pictures of food... though they managed to sneak some on the menu. Food was terrific. We split samosas, garlic naan and chicken tiki masala. So flavorful and perfectly spicy. House wine pour was decent in flavor and generous in size. We will definitely be back for dinner and hope to not become addicted to the lunch carry out window. read more

I was sold the moment I walked in and saw one of the cooks impaling marinated chicken pieces on a skewer and putting it into the Tandoor. None of the MKE restaurants have a tandoor so that makes this place the best Indian eatery north of Schaumburg. We ordered Mango martini, Chicken tikka (appetizer), Lamb masala and chicken karahi. Keep reading if you want to know more. Mango martini- For an indian restaurant it was pretty good. Chicken tikka- REALLY GOOD. Reminded me of the dhaba's in India Lamb masala- The sauce was great but the lamb meat wasn't the best, considering good lamb or goat is har to find in MKE, I don't blame the owners, who would drive everyday to chicago to get the fresh lamb meat. Chicken karahi- loved the sauce and the presentation. We had to call the police on the delivery man; it should go without saying that if I could give 0 stars, I would. I ordered using GrubHub. Not only was the food delivered over 30 minutes late, but our driver was clearly intoxicated and aggressive. For the sake of word count, here's the abbreviated version: the driver was so intoxicated that he couldn't find my house and was walking around the block, shouting vulgarities. During the transaction, he was disoriented and full of excuses; he even reached out and touched me, which made me incredibly uncomfortable. After the delivery, he didn't leave and, for some unknown reason, banged on the door while shouting more vulgarities. He then went to the back door of my house and banged on that door. He did this for at least 10 minutes. During this all, I called the police. After calling GrubHub and the Bollywood Grill several times over the course of several days, I still don't have a full refund. To top it all off, the food (chicken tikka masala, garlic naan) was sub-par at best. This was a traumatic incident, and I will never order from Bollywood Grill again. The drunk delivery man said something about how he was delivering this food for someone else, so it is clear that GrubHub and Bollywood Grill make little effort to ensure that a trustworthy person is delivering their food for them. This place is a compete nightmare. They charge you so much and serve you half cooked cap. We were two for a dinner. The were no one else in the restaurant on a Friday night. That made us skeptical. We ordered a biriyani and chat for appetizers. Both weren't good for the price we paid. We are from Chicago and you could get so much better food for half the price at Chicago downtown. Please do not spoil your mood by trying this restaurant. Better go to any other brewery or pic nearby. read more

it's hard to give a completely fair review here, as the quality seems to vary greatly. went here for a lunch buffet once and the chicken tikka masala was just... flat. my other go-to dish is biriyani but from what i can recall when i last went there for buffet they did not have biriyani. aside from that, i have ordered both dishes to go and while the masala dish was better, the biriyani wasn't that great. perhaps this rating can improve with more tries, as it's only a half block away from my place... but for now, will try other locales. read more

The food was okay. But I am giving this restaurant a one star because the delivery driver was extremely rude. I ordered off grubhub and prepaid a tip. The hotel I stay at allows deliveries to rooms and have never had an issue with this from any other delivery place. The driver called me before he got to my hotel and said he was here and I asked nicely if he could come up to my room and bring it there. He said no the hotel would not let him. So I called the front desk and I was told there was no delivery for me. So I went downstairs and as I walked out of the elevator I could see the driver chastising the front desk staff because he didn't want to come up to my room. His words were "would you like to escort me to the room? I ain't doing that and I ain't got time for that". As soon as he saw me, he opened his bag and told me to grab my food. I told him the hotel allows deliveries to the room and he said no and walked off. After he left the hotel staff told me how he was ruder before I got down there. They advised me not to use grubhub anymore and use another site for deliveries. I will not be ordering food from here again and I advise anyone else not to either. There's no need to be rude especially when I prepaid a tip to the driver. read more

Although I'm of German roots, I've been eating Indian food for 30 some years. Have eaten on Devon Ave in Chicago many times and have eaten in most all of the Indian Restaurants in the Milwaukee area. Bollywood is my favorite in the Milwaukee area (Mr. Singh's other Indian restaurant in Brookfield is also top notch) by far. There is only one in the Chicago area (I believe it is in Schaumberg, IL) that is comparable....in my opinion. I primarily eat at Bollywood at lunch time and enjoy the large and varied selection of dishes and the price is very reasonable. I recommend this Indian Restaurant and encourage anyone to at least give it a try. If you like spicy food this is great...but not everything on the buffet is spicy. Just ask if you need help in selecting what to try. read more

Loved it! Went with a small group of friends to check out this new joint. It looked like is was going to be full due to a party, but it is a deceptively accommodating location. This is my go to spot every Friday night! Great atmosphere, tandoori chicken (full rack) and chicken marsala (spicy) are my favorites and their garlic naan is unreal so you have to be careful not to pack on the carbs with those. I went for the buffet, food is good as usual, their service is going down . i was never offered the naan to day .I had to ask for the bread even then it took some time . requested a 2nd order of bread ,it NEVER came, I left my food half eaten as their was no naan ,Talked to the owners about it.
