First, let me say what I'm experiencing with bomb biscuit is nothing new, it seems to be the way restaurants operate in Atlanta. There is no consistency. People often ask me what is my favorite restaurant in Atlanta, I honestly don't have one. Because one day you'll go to a restaurant the food will be amazing. Two days later you go back to the same restaurant order the same food and it's completely different. There is no consistency. This is the second or third time that I've had biscuits from bond biscuit. The first time maybe I was too excited, but I ordered the fried chicken biscuit that bacon egg and cheese biscuit and both were quite good. Yesterday I ordered the fried chicken biscuit and a sausage, egg and cheese biscuit and they were both disgusting. Someone clearly forgot the salt. We all know things are so expensive nowadays and I think I spent $30 at least on two biscuits and like I said I was sorely disappointed. Bomb biscuits are no longer da bomb. When I approached the restaurant, I noticed a line. But luckily the cashier got everyone's orders in quickly. I waited for about 20 minutes for my food to come out as I waited in the corner with the last stool available in the small quaint restaurant. If you want to eat in the dining area, which is reminiscent of a southern grandmother's kitchen on a Sunday after church, reservations are strongly advised. Since online ordering was temporarily disabled, I decided to pick up on a Saturday late in the morning, which entailed standing and waiting in the carry-out section. The 50-minute transaction was well worth it. My husband and I ordered a Glori-Fried Chicken Biscuit with egg and a Hot Honey Chicken Biscuit. The golden brown-fried, buttermilk-brined chicken thigh with a honey butter drizzle is delicious by itself. And then you add the towering, flaky, tender, buttery biscuit and bread-and-butter pickles. I very rarely leave reviews but as I am in the throes of a gastrointestinal illness, this felt like a purpose that I must meet. The wait to be seen was not terrible at all. It was about eight minutes but after we sat down we waited hour for our food. Unfortunately we were still missing items. I tried this cozy spot near the PATH trail in Virginia Highland on a Saturday afternoon. Figures that I came during a time period that you expect a place like this to be packed - and it was. However, I didn't wait for more than an hour, probably around 20-30 minutes since they only have one staff & counter for the takeout shop side. There is a much longer line to dine in, when you enter from the left of the establishment. Parking is also tricky because of the small residential streets. I parked on N Highland within the white lined spots where I could see other cars. I wasn't booted so that's a win! I got the Pimento Chick as I wanted to try something different than a BEC. I probably should have ate it ASAP instead of driving it home. But it was still good, just nothing exceptional. The pimento was not too cheesy. From what I can tell, they open reservation seven days in advance, but even when I went to get one at 6am for seven days from then, there appeared to be no reservations available. Because I was now looking at reservations for four people, there were a ton of reservations available. So they apparently don't open any or many reservations for two people? We were there a few minutes early for 9:30 AM reservation, and it wasn't really busy at all. By the time we left, it was busier, but not totally full. They have seating in the front room that you walk into, and then they have more seating in the back, which is where we sat. The space was bigger than I thought it was gonna be. I ordered the classic, which had bacon, egg and cheese on it, because that is my go to breakfast order anywhere. There wasn't much bacon on it. The biscuit was cold and was pretty dry. We also wanted to order the cinnamon rolls, but our server told us they weren't ready, and when we asked when they would be ready, she said she didn't know and wouldn't know until they are ready. Bomb Biscuit Atlanta was featured on this season of Netflix's "High on The Hog". After seeing the feature, I had to try the delicious biscuits featured on the show. My visit was on a Friday morning and it was mildly busy. Luckily, a seat at the bar was available and I was say right away. Malik, the bartender, served with a fun personality and great customer service. I could definitely see myself being a regular at this bar just to experience great service from Malik. I'm giving the restaurant for stars just due to the food being served cold; specifically the biscuit dish I ordered. The dish I ordered was an open face chicken biscuit with sausage gravy on top and eggs + breakfast potatoes on the side. Though this tasted fantastic, I wish I could have experienced it hot. All kind of books, including cookbooks, Food and Wine Magazine, HBCU banner flags, and much much more celebrating the owner and Black culture. The food was pretty good. My biscuit didn't hold together very long, but everything on it was delicious, even the bread and butter pickle (which I'm not normally a fan of). The chicken was fried perfectly. My husband enjoyed his fully loaded (add cheese and egg) but I didn't get to try it because I don't like the taste of eggs. The cheese grits were just okay to me but that's because they boil them in chicken broth and that's not a taste I'm very fond of. 2nd time here, 1st time eating in. I brought some friends from out of town because last time I got the bacon, egg, and cheese on a gluten free biscuit and it was really good. This time the waitress told me that country ham was an option, even though it wasn't on the menu, so I went with that. Bad idea. I want to separate the service from the food. After waiting over an hour to be seated (no issue here since we didn't make a reservation). However after being seated our breakfast experience went downhill. Our server made a mistake with my wife's order and not ONCE did she return to the table we dealt with someone completely different to correct the order and apologize for the confusion (an hour and half in). The food was delivered to our table and it wasn't until my wife was almost done eating her meal did our original server ask my wife "what happened to your order?" Love this place! I started going here a couple of years ago when they were a well kept secret located right on the beltline next to the Glide pizza and the beignet place. Anyway, are usually get the hot honey biscuit. It is delicious and although I'm not a fan of chicken thighs it's the more tender meat so I understand why they use it. I can do without pickles on my breakfast sandwich as well. I tried the vegan sausage and cheese biscuit today and it is made with impossible meat. The texture of the biscuit meat and cheese was tasty! I ate it too fast because it was gone in 60 seconds. But I will say that the biscuit had a little bit of a baking soda taste. I think it needed a little more of a balance with sweetness. Otherwise it was soft and flaky and paired well with the impossible meat and, just egg and vegan cheese. As far as the service, it has always been great! More recently they expanded to a take out area independent of the dining area . Price was a bit steep at ~$15 for just a glass of water and the one biscuit sandwich with just egg and bacon.
