Frozen drinks

Truly an intimate experience. Very south philly, bar on one side and tables on the other. Recommend the frozen cocktails and black ink pasta. Service was great

All the food!

This place is a great happy hour. Honestly, the breaded chicken wing on the menu was something a local supermarket sells at the hot deli section so I would not get. I really wanted to try to pork wings but they were out. We also got the crab spaghetti which was very good. I really want to try their ribs the next time though. The waitress was super funny and kind so I gotta give it another star.

Ok, I found this place on Yelp. This was my third choice. Because I was craving ribs. The first rib place wasn't open. Then, second place sold out ribs and everything. At this point, I was upset because I wanted some ribs on a nice day. I just want a ribs sandwich. I drove from Germantown Ave to the first place, was on Erie Ave, and second place was around Snyder Ave. And then I found this place Boom Boom. It was a bar/ restaurant located on the corner of a block. My gps got me their with no problem. I parked my car and walked down the street. When it and there was no one at the front, welcome you in the place had to rooms. The bar area and the back where the restaurant part was plus the kitchen and bathrooms. It was dark and dreary. Don't get me wrong, just a little from the two or four windows. and the front door was open with a little light coming in. So when I walked in, as I stated earlier, no one was at the front. I walked at this open, and it was people eating lunch. They looked at me, and I looked back. I they were wondering why this black lady looking at us. So I went back to the front and had a set at the bar. Waited for about 10 to 15 minutes, so I looked at the appt on Yelp and called the restaurant, and a lady answered and asked, "Can she help me I answered yes I'm in the font and would like to order. She told me that she would be right up here to take my oder she was helping out. Ok, she came out and asked me what I wanted. I told her to place an order this was fust time here. Then she handed me a menu and like she was in a rush so I called my husband to she if he want any thing. So, as I was on the phone and looking over the menu, she said out of nowhere, so what are you ordering. Then she looked up and saw that I was on the phone. I told her to give me a minute. So she said ok told my husband what they had and all that he wanted was the salmon blt. So the lady came back over to take my order, so I said I would like a rib platter for me, and it came with fries and coleslaw. I ordered my husband the salmon blt but with no tomatoes, sauce, and no bacon. Then she said I'll be back. I'm going to put your order in fine. Came just talking, and at one point, I zoned out because she was talking too much. Then she asked me if I wanted a drink ok I would like a Pina colada she looked in the refrigerator, and their was no mix to make my drink. Then she started their she had to go get in the back. At the time, I told her it was okay. I could order a coconut rum and pineapple juice, and that would be fine. She made it and and it was. So, while I was waiting, a guy came in he must have been a regular. They started talking about something, and then she asked if he wanted his usual. And all you heard in the was the yard door open and close and the staff must have been smoking. So then another worker came into the restaurant she started talking to her she put her stuff down and made her fresh cup of coffee but she wanted tea but put creamer in her cup. So she had to drink the coffee and it was smelling good. Oh, I forgot they been cooking the ribs outside because of the door. But my food wasn't that hot. The coffee had a smell but you couldn't smell the food. Then three people came in to eat, and the lady asked, "Do you have reservation. and the lady behind the bar said you can seat yourself. I'm still drinking my drink and looking around and waiting on our food. Then, a couple came in and sat at the bar. What really to the cake was when the lady behind told them it was Happy Hour and told them a list of items that what was for happy hour. Know that was something and rude. So our food finally came and she gave me the bill and it was $40.00 or more so I opened the food to check it my rib platter looked ok and my husband sandwich had a tomato on it I told her I said no tomatoes and told no I didn't . So guesset what I won't be going back to the Boom Boom Restaurant. Believe this was the spot, and I was tried and hungry. When you come into the restaurant, everyone should be treated the same. I didn't have a happy hour drink. I pay eight dollars. So let me finish telling you all my long story finally got ed my hands. Putting up my item that was purchased from the reading terminal. Proceeded to open the food, and it was cold, so I had to warm it up. First, for my husband, then mine. So the ribs were not good at all. I was so made that if you look at the Yelp page, the ribs look good. But taste was not their for me. You know whe you what so bad and then it doesn't turn out right well that was these ribs and the coleslaw tasted like it had a lot of vinegar in it no thank you and fries was ok. So let me tell you about the salmon BLT. First of all, their item should be on the menu also, and my husband said the salmon was not farm raised so he could eat it at all.

As soon as you walk inside this palace looks like a gem. They're playing 80's pop. Little dive bar feels. I instantly felt in my heart this was a win. We sat down and the bar tender Lisa was very sweet. Not to mention she made some great drinks. Little did we know this would be the only great think about this place. We ordered fried calamari, Sliders and wings. Everything came out almost INSTANTLY. I've worked in a retirar before so I was like hold up. That means they either had the food sitting out or I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt, they have enough people working that they have the ability to move THAT QUICK. The foodie in me went in. The calamari was okay. It's not served with marinara. It's served with some tangy spicy sauce. Not bad. I myself wouldn't ever go there again and order calamari. Then came out the wings. Fat girl in me is ecstatic. One bite, and they are FROZEN STILLLLLL. Our food came out real fast because it wasn't done cooking. I was so upset because then my bar tender is giving other ppl great customer service and she's no where to be found. Then she came back with the sliders and we explained to her our dilemma, she was very apologetic, took them back. We told her to take them off. She kept insisting they would make more but I was soooooo good off that. The sliders, pickles seemed old. Buns were fresh but we were already turned off. Only thing in my eyes that was good about this place was the martinis Lisa was making and her great attitude. Also I used the bathroom and it was super clean. Other then that, no way I'm returning. I rather not eat frozen food. In my eyes the only thing that didn't make me angry was that our bar tender had such great customer service and she was very apologetic. Also, the menu says Red Bull and vodka as a drink special BUT the bar tender told us that they only buy Red Bull when it's on sale. Also it says martini on the menu for happy hour but it has to be either straight or twisted or else it doesn't apply. Once we ordered apple martini she wasn't giving us happy hour prices anymore.

Want to feel like you are eating Sunday dinner at Grandma's house , well this is it. From the moment you walk in the door you feel like family. The restaurant is small and cozy and the sauce was home made. My sausage rigatoni was some of the best Italian food I ever had. The drinks were strong and superb. For dessert we had the homemade rice pudding which was creamy and delicious and melted in your mouth. Dessert was enough to share.

We've trusted Mike to cater not just one but two of our office events, each with over 100 guests, and every time the food has been a crowd-pleaser. Mike's generous portions really stand out, and the menu always surprises and delights. The collard greens with black-eyed peas were a hit--something I never expected to enjoy so much! And don't even get me started on the rest: the mac & cheese, potato salad, ribs, and chicken had everyone raving and coming back for seconds (and thirds). I really liked the location and ambiance of Fette Sau. The chicken was outstanding--moist, flavorful, and one of the highlights of the meal. We also enjoyed the ribs. They were huge, tender, and very tasty. Unfortunately, there were several disappointments, which is why Fette Sau only earns 3 stars from us. When it comes to brisket, I'm not accustomed to BBQ restaurants serving almost exclusively the point cut or fat cap. We ordered a pound of brisket and could only eat about a quarter of it because it was simply too fatty for our taste. We strongly prefer the flat cut, which can still be incredibly moist and flavorful when prepared well. A combination of both cuts would have been fine, but receiving mostly fat was a major letdown. The large mac and cheese side easily fed the three of us, but it was very dry and lacked flavor. The cornbread muffin was similarly disappointing--dry and bland. I'm glad we took the time to visit because the atmosphere, chicken, and ribs were enjoyable, but given the brisket and sides, I don't see us returning.

Because we were a large party we shared a bunch of the family style trays which ended up being perfect. The vibes are fun and lively and they have an extensive list of beer, wine and cocktail. The negroni was so smooth that I had to order a second. I can't go often, since it's not that close to me, but when I go, I typically order the rib platter. I typically get the same sides (beans and mac n cheese) along with cornbread. It is certainly more deserving than my initial 3 star review on my successive visits, but I never updated my review. Not everyone will love the sauce, which tastes more tomato-based, but that's okay. As I've gotten older, I appreciate it more. It's almost like... they put... ketchup... in the sauce... and if that's what it is, I'm fine with it. It tastes good. The ribs on that initial visit were tough; that's not a lie. On three visits afterwards, it was not as tough as the first time. On my most recent visit today, the ribs were really, really tender. Like... this is how tender ribs should be. The only difference between my experiences before versus now is I placed a takeout order this time whereas I always ate at the restaurant before. If takeout will always yield the freshest, most tender ribs, I'm good with ordering takeout from now on. The ribs were tender to the point of being delicate. They were SO GOOD. Even the rib that looked like it could've been tough was tender. That's how you know ribs are good. I would give 5 stars for just the ribs alone, but aha... there were more items... baked beans... SO GOOD... they have sausage bits in them. Cornbread... baked fresh and cut in front of my eyes... WARM, SOFT, FLUFFY.... SOoo GOOOOD... the mac n cheese... well, ehhh... can't win them all... it was just mac n cheese. I have to remember to order something other than mac n cheese next time, but I always forget because I don't go here often enough. Still, this is a 5 star meal all the way and I look forward to more meals like this. I thought I had to drive over to Camden all this time to get tender ribs. Let's say that all again... the ribs are damn good... tender and juicy. Yums. Go get some. Parking lot on the premises. Hope you get the same experience I just did.

The meats are of high quality, the side dishes always tasty, and staff super helpful. We're never great at eating our money's worth, so the pay-as-you-go setup felt like a better fit. We got the favorite set for two, which ended up being plenty. The biggest highlight right away: they grill everything for you. KBBQ is just better when you can sit back and eat instead of managing the grill yourself. They also use a back grill to keep things moving, so there's barely any pause between rounds of meat. It felt really efficient. Also, the place is surprisingly clean and doesn't have that heavy "you're going to smell like smoke for the next 5 hours" vibe, which I really appreciated. Somehow they keep it all under control even with constant grilling. Service-wise, the staff were attentive and clearly working hard, especially since it seemed a bit understaffed. That said, my friend did feel a little uncomfortable at times. There were a few moments where it felt like we were being watched closely, almost like they were worried about a dine-and-dash situation, and we were asked multiple times if we had paid. I personally read it more as things being slightly disorganized with a small team juggling cooking, serving, and payments, but I can see how it might come across differently depending on how you interpret it. Food-wise, the meat was very good, but the banchan really stood out to me. The cabbage salad with a gingery soy dressing was super refreshing and cut through the richness of the meat perfectly. Free refills on banchan are always a win too. I also liked that the grill came with corn cheese, egg, and sprouts, nice extras you don't always get. The corn cheese wasn't as sweet as I expected, and the egg was a bit on the salty side, but still enjoyable. The tilted grill setup was another plus since it lets the grease drain away, so the meal didn't feel overly heavy like some AYCE spots. Overall, it was a really fun experience. A bit pricey, but worth it for the quality and how easy the whole meal felt. Just something to be aware of with the service dynamic depending on how sensitive you are to that kind of thing.

I'm not sure if the server was new but she didn't seem very familiar with their menu, though she did say she'd ask if we had questions. I ordered a $19 cocktail and asked them to make it less sweet but it was still very sweet and syrupy, so I didn't even really drink it. We ordered the hanging bacon for $19 which I was excited about. For the price and hype, I kind of thought it would be fancy or thick-cut bacon, but it was just regular thin bacon like you get at the grocery store. I will say it was cooked well, the sweet habanero sauce was excellent, and the cornbread underneath the bacon was good too. Just seemed kind of overpriced and hyped. I tried to order the bacon and lobster Alfredo. The server came back and said they were out of lobster so I asked for another menu. My friend tried to order the burnt ends entree, but they were out of that, too. They were out of asparagus so the server said they would substitute broccoli instead. We ordered the blackened salmon that was supposed to have a mango salsa topping. It came with mashed potatoes and asparagus (sub broc). However, it was plain when it got dropped off and I later asked the server about the salsa and was told they were out of salsa as well. I ended up using the habanero sauce that came with the hanging bacon to add a little flavor to the dish. It would have been a nice mention when they dropped the food off instead of me having to ask for it. The other entree we got was like a braised pork on mashed potatoes with cornbread. The server said "that comes with asparagus so would you like the broccoli instead?" I told her, "the menu doesn't say it comes with that but if so, I guess sub the broccoli." When she brought that dish to us, she said "I asked the chef to put broccoli on because you asked for it." I was annoyed because I already had told her the menu didn't say anything about a vegetable with that dish. They did charge me $3 extra for the "added" broccoli. It wasn't the price, but that the server was not knowledgeable about the menu, offered me something I questioned her specifically about, and then charged me extra for it as if I asked for it. I would like to reiterate, though, that she was very sweet throughout. The lack of menu items on a menu that isn't that big, and has some repeats between the appetizers and entrees, was laughable by the end. The food that we did get was cooked well and tasted fine, but was pretty basic and in my opinion, overpriced for what it was. I think it would avoid confusion and disappointment if the server told you what they were out of when you sat down, so you could make an informed menu choice, as I've had this happen at other restaurants where it was not a big deal that they were out of a dish or item. But this place was out of so many things on a Thursday night. I was really hoping this would be a regular neighborhood place for me, but I will not be back.
