The worst breakfast I have had from a restaurant. I had to throw out most of it. The hashbrowns were hard on top. Bacon fried way too much, waffle was very greasy, fruit wasn't fresh or good, lastly the eggs were cold and had no seasoning at all. I am very disappointed. Don't know how this place has 4 stars. I'm still hungry and I paid 23 dollars for small thing of eggs,bacon, hashbrown, two waffles, and non fresh fruit. read more

Everything I've tried here is amazingly good. The chocolate croissants are my favorite thing here. The Pesto pasta without chicken is yummy. The mocha with an extra shot of chocolate or an iced tea with half sweet, a 4th unsweet and a 4th peach is really good too. My friend absolutely loves the chicken salad sandwich on a croissant. The staff is very friendly as well! The wonderful lady who seems to always be at the counter seems to remember everyone who comes in more then once and loves to talk and joke with us. A friend and I were meeting for lunch and I had been to this location a couple of times in the past with my husband and had no issues. Visit started out fine - waitress was prompt with our drinks and taking our orders. However, what was not prompt or fine was getting our food. Bear in mind all that we ordered were salads a a cup of soup. We waited and waited and waited. Inquired our waitress a few times, who kept telling us it was coming as we continued to watch people who were seated after us get their food. After 45 minutes, enough was enough and we canceled our order (the waitress told us the kitchen was just then fulfilling our order), left and went next door to Wendy's. I'm a HUGE fan of breakfast food... so much so that I have considered becoming a full time breakfastarian. Mom and I were having a hard time deciding where to fuel up prior to our planned shopping spree so we settled on Bon Appetit. We were greeted warmly and moved along to place our order at the counter. I went with the Bon Appetit omelet and mom decided on the Bon Appetit breakfast with pancakes. The omelet was actually pretty good. I really enjoyed the ample fixings that made up the stuffing. the highlight for me was the croissant it came with. So buttery and flaky -- I was in dough heaven! As for mom's breakfast, it looked pretty good but the pancakes were reminiscent of Bisquick (I tried part of one myself). They were on the flat side and tasted like the pre-mixed type. They weren't bad, just nothing to write home about. I will say this, their coffee is amazing. I had 2 cups of the bold blend and boy, did it give me an extra pep in my step. Overall, it's a nice little café that is inviting and has great service. I wouldn't mind coming back at the very least for a croissant and coffee. read more

This is a walk up order-and-sit down type of cafe. A very well mannered and friendly young man took my order. I came for breakfast: I had their dark roast coffee, which was amazing. I love a coffee bar that has fresh half and half. They also had milk. And I love love love that there were brown packets of cane sugar!!! I ordered the breakfast croissant. Sat down and sipped my coffee, and before I knew it I had my food. It was quite possibly the. Best. Croissant. I've ever had. It was buttery, they didn't skimp on the eggs, cheese, or bacon. It was flavorful, fresh and everything was amazing about it. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I will be back!! I'm very interested in trying their other dishes. I love that there was a seating area in front of the fire place, situated right in front of the Christmas tree. Just a great ambience all around. We beat the crowd by coming in around 8am. Seems like a lot of locals/regulars hang out in here. We each had the Bon Apetit breakfast (croissant, pancakes or waffle, eggs, sausage or bacon, and hash browns) with coffees. The total was around $20. We never got the croissant and I'm pretty sure it was supposed to come out of a box near the drinks (which looked a little gross because it was sweating inside). The food was mediocre. My husband loved it (he says I'm a snob lol) but I thought it was just okay. The owner seems to take quite pride as he was walking around saying hello and asking how things were. The atmosphere was ok but nothing special. Overall, I would try again for lunch and maybe breakfast if my husband really wanted but it wouldn't be a place I choose over others. read more

Stopped in here for some Sunday morning breakfast! First impressions were warm and inviting. I will say these guys could spruce the place up a bit with some artwork from local artists. I got the Bon Appetit breakfast and food was really good, aside from my waffle being a little overdone. I've looked over some of the lower rated reviews, all I have to say to those is.. clearly never worked in a restaurant..get over yourselves people. The place is next door to my office. I absolutely love their breakfast. From their croissants, eggs, bacon, omelets, hash browns to name a few. The service is fast and friendly. I'm here at least once a week for their breakfast. The eggs are light and fluffy, just the way I like them. The bacon is cooked just right, not too crispy but not that rubbery feel either. The croissants are flakey and buttery delicious. My absolute favorite are the omelets. You can build it to your liking. Spinach, tomatoes, choice of meat for the non vegetarians. I usually take my order out to the office, however, I have dined in a few times. The dining are is small but quaint. There is an area off to the side for a bit more privacy. I've utilized this area to meet with clients. My only reasoning for not giving this place 5 stars is my experience with the lunch. I find the chicken to be dry and overcooked. Others desire it. Yum- I love Bon Appetit Cafe! This is definitely one of my favorite breakfast spots in the area. For only $10 I get a coffee, waffle, two scrambled eggs, bacon, and hashed browns! This breakfast dish is called the Bon Appetit Breakfast and it does not disappoint in flavor! No matter what you order- if you like hash browns you have to try the hash browns here! Yum! When you walk into the restaurant you will grab a menu and make your selection with the cashier. After ordering and paying the cashier will give you a wooden number to display on your table. You will need to pickup your silverware, grab your drink from fountain bar, and sit down. If your ordered a specialty drink it will be delivered to your table with your food. I highly recommend trying the cappuccinos if you are in need of an energy boost. Bon Appetit Cafe is kid friendly and they have several highchairs available if you have a baby. My toddler has done very well at Bon Appetit Cafe as the noise level isn't too loud but not quiet either. There are two small tables outside and plenty of tables and booths inside. If you arrive early and need to wait on a friend there is also a very cute sitting area in front of a fireplace. read more

The wife and I came here a month ago and everything was fantastic, so good we decided to come back today...we should have stayed home and kept the happy memories from last month. I ordered the same thing I did last time. The Bon Appetite Special with pancakes, and substituted sausage for the eggs (because eggs are gross) and a Bon Appetite omelette (with out potatoes) for my wife. I was told they had just run out of hash browns and it would be a "long time" before the next batch was ready. I was bummed, but life goes on. We waited 20+ minutes for our order so I went and asked if it had been "long enough" for the fresh batch and it had been! I was stoked!! I purchased the hash browns and returned to the table. Our order arrived a few minutes later. This is where things go wrong. The wife's omelette has potatoes in it, instead of a double order of sausage I have one order of sausage and one order of bacon. The very worst part? The part I looked most forward to...the hash browns...so undercooked, no sign of that golden brown that I fell in love with last time AND most of one of my pancakes was completely raw. This place was right next to our hotel and looked cute so we stopped by... they seemed kinda busy but we waited almost an HOUR for our to go order that we placed at 11 and didn't get until 11:55. Other customers went up and asked when their food was going to come out as well. My iced mocha was also not iced , they poured hot coffee in a cup with ice. The hash browns were mediocre at best (dry). Will not be returning to this establishment. read more

Yep, another fan here. This was my 1st time in and it's so cute, does feel like a European cafe. Loved the ceiling tiles. I was greeted right away and my order was taken right away. I had the Bon Appetit breakfast with bacon & a Belgian waffle. Everything was wonderful and I ate every bit. I'm a big breakfast lover so the fact they serve the breakfast choices at lunchtime is awesome. By the time I returned from the restroom, my meal was ready. Nice, quick service. Yes, the service is a little slow, and yes they seem a little disorganized, but the food is so good, that for now, I'm going to let that go and not knock them for it! David W. and Romero L. hosted a UYE here and it was so much fun!! It was awesome seeing fellow Yelpers that I hadn't seen in awhile, and awesome to meet new Yelpers! We had a great group and had a lot of fun! Thanks again Dave and Romero!! So, you go in, grab a menu from the wall, stand in line and then order at the counter. The cashier was super sweet and fairly quick. When we got in line there seemed to be a mini rush of about 10 people in line, so it wasn't moving too quickly, but I think they do get overwhelmed easily. I ordered the Original breakfast with scrambled eggs, bacon and pancakes (I kinda LOVE pancakes). Everything was fantastic and tasted delicious! The pancakes were huge, and I almost ate them all, they were so good! They have a little baguette and condiment station by the drinks, but there wasn't any bread when I was up there. Which was okay as my breakfast was more than enough. The food did take awhile to get to the table though, and although thy give you a number, they don't seem to have any process to match the number and the food, so they just ask who had what. They might need to work on that, because if they do get super busy, that's just not going to work. I hope they do well, as the food is delicious and the service friendly, albeit a little slow and disorganized. The restaurant wasn't even busy, it was us and two other tables. If you have time to kill then this is the place but if you only have so much time on a lunch break avoid it like the plague. I ordered a side of hash browns but didn't like them very much. The waffles had a weird taste to them that we didn't care for and the hot chocolate was just chocolate syrup mixed with milk. Both drinks were overly sweet and I don't believe we will be coming back. But if we had to base our review off of the service we were provided we would've definitely given 5/5 stars!! read more

Since I love to peruse Yelp for restaurants I haven't been, when I stumbled upon this one, I had to try it. Since I had an appointment cancellation, I asked Sir Hubs-a-Lot if he wanted to grab lunch here. Bon Appetit Cafe is located in the shopping center on Point Lookout, just behind the Wendy's, so it's easy to find. Once inside, you grab a menu and walk up and place your order. I wanted to try one of the hot sandwiches, but I wasn't sure how thick the hoagie bun would be, so I opted for breakfast, which is served all day err day. LOL I got the omelette, smart choice style (with egg whites) and with spinach, mushrooms and tomatoes. It also comes with a croissant. Honestly, the omelette was pretty good, way better than La Madeleine can make, but it definitely did not look like egg whites ... egg beaters, maybe, but not egg whites. No biggie, like I said, it was good. Hubs got the Bon Appetit sandwich, which has chicken and cheddar. The hoagie bun didn't look too terribly big. I asked how his sandwich was and he said "it's ok" ... typical guy ... couldn't have been too bad because he at the whole thing. I got unsweetened ginger tea and it was yumm-o!
