We have eaten here several times since they opened. They were especially known for their breakfast items, and the folks we took here enjoyed it. It's a little dark inside the restaurant and looks a little "old" but things went well. I have eaten here only twice for lunch now, and again although there was nothing fabulous on the menu, it was pretty solid. Admittedly though, things weren't as nice as normal. Seems like they don't have many people working at one time, and no one was very high energy. It was not a bad experience, just not as nice as the past. I found this place on Yelp and I decided to try some place new for our group to meet at. It's open for breakfast and lunch and they had WiFi, so it was a no brainer. There were plenty of tables for us to choose from. They had quite a few other diners there, but we were able to get a table for our group of 8 easily. The service was slow. I think there might have been 3 people working in the entire place. So while we had to wait for our coffees and food, we were pleasantly surprised by the food. It was okay, however the hash browns were cold on several of our plates. They may just need to work on their timing and when things are played. read more

I've been here 2 times and it's definitely A-OK. The first time I went I ordered a hot sandwich. I didn't care too much for the sauce. It was a little too sweet. Everything else was good. My husband ordered penne pasta with chicken. That was really good. Today we went and I ordered the almond crusted chicken with a side of mashed potatoes and green beans. Very good! ...but a little heavy for lunch. Unfortunately I just want to sleep now. I could only eat 1/2 of the meal. A HUGE portion! My husband ordered a side salad, tomato soup, and a sandwich. He ate everything. My only "ehs" are: The line to order. But I don't blame the place. People don't seem to be courteous enough to move to this side until they've decided what they want. The other issue is the parking lot. There aren't enough spaces so you might find yourself parking at the Wendy's next door. Both are out of the restaurant's hands. We visited on a Saturday afternoon around 2:30. It closes at 3pm. It's located at the end of a rather seedy looking business strip. If not for Yelp, I would not have visited. The place was completely empty. We quickly paced an order, got our drinks from the self serve station (hate those), and chose a table. Food arrived quickly and was really good! I had the almond crusted chicken with veggie rice and broccoli. My son had the turkey bacon sandwich with chips. It was all delish! Rice was perfectly seasoned only needing a few shakes of salt and pepper to taste. Sauce on the chicken really hit the spot. Will be back when in the area again. read more

First time here. The ambiance was pretty good and the place was well lighted which probably helped -- it's not the place for a cozy romantic meal. They call themselves a cafe but they're a little more upscale than that. You order at the counter and they bring the food. My only complaint, they have those tiny, virtually useless napkins (NOTE: they've fixed this). We did the Bon Appetit breakfast and got both sausage and bacon. When the menu said smoked sausage I read link sausage. I wouldn't have ordered it had I known it was pan sausage, but that wasn't their fault. We realized too late that the items on the breakfast menu can be seen in the showcase at the front. It was a typical breakfast and it was good. It's nice to have another breakfast place in the area. We'll be back. ================ I've now been here for lunch a couple of times. Everything I've gotten here has been excellent. Their Cesar salad is good. The breakfast sandwich on a croissant is good (I had it for lunch) and the French Dip is good. When they get their act together I'll up my rating to five stars. They're slow busing the tables. The service is helter skelter -- they're trying, they just haven't got it down yet. I don't see them doing anything about the parking, so if you get there at a peak time park at the CVS (I've been told CVS had someone towed for parking there. Well, they've had time to get an act together and they haven't. They are VERY disorganized. The exit from the drink area is right beside the exit for servers delivering food. The servers pay no attention to customers trying to get out of the drink area. The service was fine. I can tell like most places its understaffed. But the food was not good. I ordered the breakfast trio with a waffle. The eggs did not to appear to be farm fresh as the menu said. The yolks were a pale anemic yellow, not bright yellow almost orange like farm eggs. Ugh so sad. I used to come here a lot and I never had a bad experience and the food was always great. I recently brought 4 people with me to eat breakfast because I kept raving on about how good it was. Long story short I felt so bad I ended up buying everyone's meals. We had a group of five and it took over an hour for our food to come out. When it eventually did come out it was all cold. I guess it would of been understandable if they were busy but there were only TWO other people in the entire restaurant eating. It doesn't take over an hour to make some waffles and eggs. I order the original breakfast with a crossaint, eggs, sausage and their special hashbrowns. The hashbrowns has scallions and grated cheddar cheese which was to die for! My family and I have been coming to this Nassau Bay community staple for years and absolutely adore it. The food is super fresh and even though orders are placed at the counter, the staff will still come out to the floor to take care of tables. The team here really is phenomenal and personable. If they see your face enough they'll probably know your order before you place. Croissant was excellent as well as the hash browns. Eggs were a tad dry and latte was way too sweet over-powering the coffee flavor. This morning we tried the Bon Appetit Cafe for the first and last time. I ordered a coffee and my fiancé ordered a Dr Pepper to which the coffee tasted burnt like it had been sitting in the burner for a while. When our waitress came back to take our order we asked her what she recommended seeing as it was our first time I explained I'm not picky and love trying new dishes. She could not tell me one thing one the menu that she recommended that right there should have keyed me in to what was to be expected from the food. I waited table for over 8 years at different restaurants and till this day I can tell you the best dishes from each restaurant. We ended up going with the Bon Appetit Breakfast plate I had bacon and waffle and my eggs we're supposed to be over easy and he asked for a biscuit instead of the croissant and sausage patties and his eggs were asked to be over easy as well. My eggs were over hard my bacon was rubbery and their hashbrowns looked like they tasted the only thing worth anything on that plate was the waffle. When the waitress brought out our drinks I asked for a glass of water which I never got until my fiancé had to get up and go to the counter and get himself because she forgot to bring out the butter after I asked her for it. The menu states that sodas have free refills our waitress charged for the second Dr Pepper because they bring them out in bottles. When we went to the counter to check out the gentleman behind the counter was completely understandable and removed the second drink and apologized for the inconvenience. Then there's no table service even though their prices aren't cheap. I had heard so many great things about this place so I was excited to try it out, needless to say it fell short of my expectations. It's basically a small "La Madeleine"shop that fell flat. The decor is bland & unremarkable, nothing stood out as memorable but it was clean, I'll give them that. The staff were friendly,they were young & were having fun,maybe a little too much. After waiting in line for 10 minutes to place my order, which by then I had already started getting annoyed. There was a large group of people (25) that had placed their orders & showed up before I did so I understood the delay on taking my order so I let it slide. They offer complimentary bread & butter which was fresh. The food came out fairly quickly, I ordered the chicken pesto pasta . The chicken was ok, probably was from a freezer package with it being preseasoned, the pasta was completely bland. For the price I paid I could have had much better food somewhere else in the neighbourhood. The other thing that really put me off was seeing one of the young staff members lifting a filthy broom head off the floor to swing it around 1-2 feet away from the fresh salad bar that they use to make customers food. Another employee then started pulling the other employees ears like she was chastising him in front of everyone in the restaurant. Another issue arose with another customer as we were sitting there. Well this stop was a lovely surprise! The restaurant was quaint and nothing special on the outside. As this was our first time, it definitely wasn't clear whether we were to wait to be seated or seat ourselves. We eventually sorted out the system and realized we just needed to decide what we want and order it from the counter. Despite the smaller menu there was enough of a variety for everyone to get what they wanted. I settled on the special, eggs benedict, some pancakes, and mocha. My friends got the croissant sandwich and the chicken baked chicken. All three of us were pleasantly surprised with the good flavor, quality, and amount of food served!
