Tried this for the first time over the weekend. The online to-go order was supposed to be ready at 7pm...waited inside the place until 7:53pm. Staff and manager overwhelmed, customers waiting for pickup getting hangry, etc. Granted they just opened and this chicken is EXTREMELY popular, but somebody needs to be throttling the amount of orders which can reach this store during peak times if they can't keep up with demand, because a lot of us won't be back for a long while, if at all. The chicken, once we got it and got home, the chicken was indeed very tasty though it seemed to be a mix of large and small drumsticks when we'd ordered drums+wings. For the price the portion was on the small side. The potstickers had obviously been sitting a long while and were cold but tasty. They didn't include the dipping sauce we'd ordered. For $1 it's not worth the effort to get a credit, refund. Last note - this place is situated ON the King St portion of Bradlee shopping center. Between delivery and pick-up drivers for this and &Pizza, that portion of roadway before the turn into the parking lot is now even more of a mess. Real tasty chicken though :) read more

I've never had an experience like this before. Ordered my meal on mobile web for pickup at 5:30. I knew this was going to be trouble when I walked in and the place was full of people waiting and hardly any food coming out. After 30-40 minutes we finally asked for some sort of timeline where we learned that they didn't have our order because none of the mobile orders had come through. I don't understand why they wouldn't have said that to people as they were coming in. Then I'm told that they could only offer wings and the other items are not available. The person tells me that he'll have it in 10 minutes. That was the last time I saw him. About 30 minutes later we simply left to get food elsewhere. I was impressed that so many people were keeping their cool but also worried that sooner or later somebody was going to get confrontational. This place simply is not ready to be open and has no idea what they're doing. On top of that, they are not refunding my order so I've had to go through the credit card company to dispute. Who does that? I'm very much considering opening up a spite Korean chicken wing place next to them. Just not sure what to name it yet. read more

We love Bonchon, and typically really enjoy the food. Unfortunately this location seems to have had some hiccups. Today we ordered wings both boneless and traditional. We have had the boneless before but this time it was inedible, it appeared to be generally sauce-less fried breading with a little dark meat. We looked back at the menu and there doesn't seem to be dark meat boneless wings that we could have ordered by mistake. It was very odd. We will order again, but posting mostly because I wanted to ask what happened. read more

I placed an online order at 5:05pm and arrived at 5:30 to pick up my order to the store. When I got there , the cashier seemed confused as to where my order was and asked all of her coworkers and they ignored her question and kept helping other customers that arrived after me. I had to wait until 5:45pm to be acknowledged by the manager who then told me they were having issues with online orders but my order would be right out. After waiting for 35 minutes in the store being fed lie after lie, I asked the cashier yet again on status of my order and she seemed confused as they only had a ticket under my name for a side of spicy Mayo!! The manager then came back out and saw I was still there and had to go to his line cooks to ask where the food was and it turns out it was sitting in the window. From the moment I entered everyone mishandled the situation and the senior staff member did nothing to assure I was being taken care of until the very end. I will no longer be going back to any of the Bon Chon locations with my family after this poor experience at a NEW location. Avoid this location for your own good. read more

Horrific service. Ordered in person and they weren't busy. Close to a dozen workers there. As we sat there just waiting for 30 minutes, wondering what was going on, we noticed the kitchen staff frantically alert the cashier that an order had been sitting at the window ready for some time. Turns out it was ours! She calls out our order which was 1 box of wings and then continues to take close to 3-5 minutes to put it in a bag and hand it to us.... (no I'm not exaggerating, I thought my eyes were moving in slow motion or something) Silently losing my patience underneath my mask I grab the order and head home (2 min away) hoping it was still hot and hadn't been sitting there TOO long.... the wings are cold... get your S together. read more

I love Bon Chon and have eaten at the other full service locations multiple times. This fast casual format was a huge disappointment. The prices seemed high for what I got. $19.37 for their combo which included 8 boneless wings, side of Mac and Kim cheese and a soda. The Mac and Kim cheese was pretty average and didn't have a lot of flavor or spice but the chicken was the real disappointment. Instead of the beautiful extra crispy lightly breaded tenders I've had at other locations they just looked like someone had opened a bag of frozen chicken tenders from the grocery store and thrown some sauce on top. As much as i love the franchise and their chicken, I only ordered 1 KOREAN DOUGHNUT, it took them 40+ MINUTES to serve it, while there was a korean doughnut out ready for pick up (not mobile order/door dash/food delivery) and they wouldn't give it to me while i was the only one who ordered doughnut. We have bought chickens at this location a few times and they are great. Hot and crispy and tasty. However we do not like the way they prepare radish. The free radish comes with the meal was chopped too small that it's hard to pick up to eat. The $2.5 radish side dish was cut properly and that's how it was supposed to be from other Bonchon places. However when we ordered on Sunday 3/7, the $2.5 radish side dish was chopped as small as the free one. On top of this issue, this place does not know how to make pickled radish. It is so plain that you only taste water with radish. It is supposed to be pickled to eat with the fried chicken. We hope they do fix the radish as part of their franchise. read more

Was glad to see there was a Bonchon closer to my house than the one in Annandale, which is sort of a hike. Stopped in this new one for the first time after going to the gym. My wings came pretty fast for a Bonchon. No surprise there, as it was 9pm and I was the only one in there, save for a few takeout customers coming and going. The taste and crispiness were exactly what I expected from a Bonchon, and the wings themselves were fat and meaty. It was a great after-workout meal. In addition, everything was clean, including the drink machine and bathrooms. The lady at the counter was polite and friendly. No complaints here. I would normally give a place like this 4 stars just for being competent, but I'm giving this place 5 stars to outweigh the overly dramatic 1 star reviews. Like really? 1 star? These have got to be paid reviews from the Choong Man Chicken joint down the street. read more

I was truly thrilled that Bonchon opened so close to us having ordered from other locations for years. I ordered pick up for the first time from this location las night and the only positive thing I can say is that the order was ready early. The food they delivered last night was nothing like what I had at other locations, there was more breading than chicken, the breading was different and less flavorful, and the amount of sauce on the chicken was a quarter of what we had seen before. Frankly, it was absolute garbarge. I realize this store is new but right now, this is not what I equate to the Bonchon brand. For $30 I could have easily gone elsewhere and had 10x better. read more

If you are used to the taste of the BonChon in Annandale, VA DO NOT GO HERE! they have a completely different texture and taste. Its not good at all. I was so happy there was a new store near our house and I bought a very large order for a dinner and I ended up throwing more than half away - prior to this purchase I was going to buy some for lunch and I noticed they don't have lunch specials either. This BonChon wont make it. If they are new customers maybe they'll enjoy it but if they are like any of us that have ate from the Annandale, VA store they will hate it - I rather drive the extra 20 minutes but I will never come back to this place. The service and the food were outstanding. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

I placed an order recently on their website for delivery service and received a notification of delivery showing it to be approximately 1 hour from time of order confirmation. Sometime later, I received a call from the DoorDash driver asking me to cancel the delivery service because the order was not ready for pickup for the time that was provided to the driver. Apparently, the driver was told the order would not be ready for pick up for an additional 20 minutes. Ultimately, after explaining this to me, the driver stated he could not wait any longer and had to leave. Driver also stated this was not the first time this has happened to him at this location. I had to offer yet another tip on top of what I had already provided through your website to convince him to wait and to please deliver. After waiting for sometime for my order in the first place, I had no choice but to do so and the food was delivered. During the wait for the delivery, I called the location to explain what was happening. The Bonchon representative's immediate response was curt and as follows: "it's not our fault. It's the weekend and it's busy. The driver now picked up the order. And what do you want." This is absolutely unacceptable when I called to explain. I did not raise my voice as I was accused of. And after stating such to the representative, it was then, I was asked if there was anything she could do to make it better. I was not looking for anything in the first place. Only to provide feedback. Too little too late. I hope with this feedback you can perhaps use to update your system with DoorDash so they have a realistic pick up time for the orders; in addition to helping to improve with customer service. read more

Have been waiting for this Bonchon to open in Bradlee so we don't have to drive out to Arlington for the tasty spicy chicken. Very disappointed. Called in the order since on line ordering was unavailable. When we picked up the order, the ticket taped to the bags correctly reflected the order we placed. However, when we opened the bags after getting home, all the chicken was the wrong flavor (soy garlic instead of the spicy we ordered) and the fried rice was missing. In addition to the chicken being the wrong flavor, it was not even a good soy garlic batch--- not as flavorful and crispy as you'd expect from Bonchon. Maybe it's just new-opening glitches, but after wasting $60+ on this order, not sure we'll give it another chance. read more

I love Bon Chon and I am so glad there's one near where I live now. There are a lot of complaints about long waiting time even ordered online. I am glad I got my order with a short wait on this past Saturday night. The chicken was so crispy right then and a day later heating it up in microwave or oven. Hopefully the restaurant will work out their logistic and hire more people to help out. I feel bad for the overwhelmed employees. Will def. Come back!! read more

The one on Pershing is on point. Portions are better there, food is hot, and the customer service blows this one away. Waited forever the first time I ordered. Ordered strips and was given wings. Cashier didn't give me a receipt so I didn't realize this until I got home. Today the cashier didn't even know what strips were when I ordered them. Once I got home and opened the strips, they really aren't Korean fried chicken at all. They are just chicken tenders. The team isn't trained and calling them "apathetic at best" is complimentary based on the service I've received both times I've been. It never feels like anyone is managing this location. Very disappointed. I will keep driving further to the one on Pershing by Ft. Meyer for Bonchon. read more

I have ordered from other locations and always been happy. This one not so much. I ordered curbside and when I got home realized items were missing. Our French fries were cold but our other food was at least lukewarm. It was as if they left our curbside order out on the counter. We had to call when we arrived because nobody came out after we checked in online. All in all not a great experience. read more
