Great to have KFC for the first time in years. My friends and I split a large order of half & half sweet/spicy and it was just as tasty as I remembered - super crispy skin, loads of flavor and not particularly greasy. Coming to this location, it's easy to spot and it's always easy to get seating! I come to this restaurant every so often to eat the friend chicken that they have! I adore the great service that they have and the excellent customer service that comes with the individuals who work there! The inside of the restaurant was super clean as well as the bathroom. My boyfriend and I ordered the chicken which comes with pickled radish. I like getting the soy garlic as the flavor really pops into your mouth. It melts inside your mouth while you're eating the chicken. I like the pickled radish because it's super refreshing to eat after eating a bunch of chicken. We also ordered the bibimbap which was super good too. When looking for parking, it can vary and depend on the day that you're going. Sometimes during dinner on a Friday night parking can be hard to find as well. There's a Leatherby's across the street which can take up the parking spots. If anything as well, you can park a little farther and take a walk to the restaurant. My experience here has been nothing but positive and I will certainly be coming back to enjoy more of the food they have to offer! If you're looking for some great service, Heng and Minh are two of the best people that you can count on to get the job done! Finally! A Bonchon in Sac/Elk Grove. I've waited and waited for them to open and I'm so glad they're finally up and running. We happen to come on a weekday, it was pretty late 730/8pm and there was still a wait time to be seated. The hostess took down our reservation and a phone number so we could be reached when our table was ready. I thought that was really convenient. Once a spot opened up they sent a text message letting us know. Not everything is available on their menu just yet. That didn't bother me bc the items I did wana try were! We ordered the salmon avocado ball, chicken fried rice, japchae, and the soy garlic wings. It was definitely too much food for 3 people to finish so we were able to take it home. Salmon avocado ball- just imagine a giant sushi ball minus the rice. I liked it even though the texture was all just soft and mushy. Chicken fried rice was just meh, but who can ever really say they've had amazing fried rice somewhere. We only ordered it bc I like to eat every/anything with a side of rice. I feel like it just completes the meal Japchae- it's always one of my favorite Korean side dishes. Tastes like japchae from any other Korean restaurant, so there's no complaints here. Oh Bonchon, sometimes I forget how good it is until we have it and wonder why haven't been back in a while. During COVID, we got take out and usually I am reluctant to order fried foods because they get soggy and not as crispy. This isn't really an issue with bonchon because takeout korean chicken is a thing in Korea, so somehow the chicken is still crispy and wonderful even after picking up the food and driving home. We love the fact that they give a small side of pickled radish, it really does cut the greasiness and fat while you eat. If you haven't tried it before, definitely give it a go! Korean fried chicken! Yummy! I have been wanting to try this place ever since it opened a few months back. Finally had the chance to give it a try. Came here on a Wednesday night (6:30 pm) and there was no wait. Ordered: Small combo (half & half): Spicy and Soy Garlic were both yummy but spicy was way too spicy for me. If you can only eat a little bit of spicy, I would suggest to skip the spicy and just go with the soy garlic. I really like their batter. Very different from the American fried chicken batter and the regular tempura batter. The drums were a bit overcooked. The wings are better in my opinion. Potstickers (half & half): Same as the chicken, the spicy was way too spicy. The potsticker was pretty good. Korean Tacos (Bulgogi): This was actually pretty good. $1 extra for bulgogi. Pork Buns: This was only alright. The buns were pretty thick. One bun will fill you up. This is an item that I would not order again. Service was great here. Pretty attentive. Ok this place has been on my bookmark list to try for a long time, but Korean food isn't at the top of my food list to try outside of south Korea, but my kpop fan daughter has been begging for Korean food for months now so decided to hit this place up. First want to say the parking in the center is not good at all, however the restaurant is in a great spot. Went in was not business at all got seated right away looked at the menu was wondering if I should just stick to the fried chicken lol but my daughter want to experience the whole deal so order some food that I will not even try name here check the pictures. Got the food was hot but very good I mean I was like damn this Is good my daughter order a fish soup that was spicy as hell she was warned by the staff it was very hot she loved it. I enjoy many things from their menu. I particularly enjoy the soy garlic potstickers and half and half strips. I am VERY glad they brought back their original strips recipe. I still which the strips were in that classic medallion shape, but they are essentially the same. I didn't eat there for over a year when they changed their strips. Okay so this place is still in the soft opening phase I believe. Came once already when they soft opened and came back on Labor Day and boy have they improved! The service was slow the first time I came, but improved significantly when I returned on Labor Day. Big parking lot so that's always nice for a restaurant with a long wait. Ofcourse the wait was long, they are very popular and it was a holiday; and, quite frankly I think there will always be a wait for dinner even after the initial "I want to try that new restaurant" phase. We had 3 people and waited about 90 minutes. The host was very polite at least. Loved the interior decor, very nice and modern. They have many TVs for your entertainment and 2 rows of bar seating for you sports watchers/alcohol drinkers. My server was polite but I feel that they can all use a little more happy smiles on their face. Not sure if they are just shy or overworked lol. My food came out surprisingly fast. Got all the appetizers, sides, and fried chicken wings first. Then the entrees came. Spicy lovers this is the place for you. We had to wait around thirty minutes for a table, but the host always apologized and acknowledged us for the wait. It wasn't as busy, but because we were a large group we had to wait awhile. The place is very clean and relatively smaller than most restaurants. They have a couple TV monitors to watch sports and shows. My family each ordered our own dishes. I got their bibimbap with bulgogi and we all shared their soy garlic-flavored chicken wings. It was definitely not a disappointment! Their chicken wings were super crispy and very tasty too. Even though it had sauce on it, the crispy skin didn't get soggy at all. Their bibimbap was really good too: I let my rice fry a little bit before mixing the whole bowl (I like the rice a little crispy!) with the raw egg. We were looking forward to the opening of this franchise as we had it in the Bay Area, and our visit did not disappoint. We ordered the 10 piece bone in Soy Ginger and the 10 piece boneless along with a side of fried rice and plain rice. In our opinion, the bone in held more flavor maybe because of the skin on the bone in. We felt that the boneless was slightly lacking in our opinion. Both were large portions for about $10 each and we had to take some home because of the portion size. Service was outstanding with our server suggesting items and making sure we were taken care of. They also serve beer and soju if you are so inclined as well. All in all a good visit with prompt efficient service and above quality food. We will be back to try the rest of the menu. read more

We were in the area because we were meeting up with one of our friends for a get together and I decided to take advantage of their online ordering. I had heard that Bonchon was a good place to eat so I looked to my trusty yelp app and there Bonchon popped up. It was close to the location where we were supposed to be meet up with our friends so it was a no brainer to order from Bonchon, pick up and then head over to our friend's house. So, that's what I did. Upon ordering, I guess I was hungry because I went above and beyond on ordering. I think I ordered one of each of basically everything. First of all, in general, korean fried chicken is super flavorful. Bonchon is the same. I ordered the signature fried chicken, soy garlic, sweet crunch...all in boneless wings. I also ordered chicken katsu, house fried rice, bulgolgi (my absolute favorite) and chicken sliders, and salmon avocado ball. Katsu was crispy and delicious. It was even more yummy with the katsu sauce and spicy mayo. The spicy mayo was a nice touch. The salmon avocado ball was different. I absolutely love avocado and salmon so it was the best of both worlds for me. The avocado has crab, cucumber, fish roe and it's all wrapped in salmon, topped with spicy may, unagi sauce and crunchy tempura. Trust me, try it, it's delicious and could be a great appetizer. It's huge. It could be a meal if you aren't that hungry. The sliders were just ok but the bulgogi was super flavorful. I could eat the bulgogi with just some rice and kim chi on the side and I'd be a happy camper. As far as the wings go, it was all super delicious. I love wings so I could eat it all day. I would choose all the flavors all over ago. Your tongue will do a happy dance with all the flavors that it will encounter with each bite. Since I ordered online the pick up was seamless. There wasn't much customer service that I encountered. I asked the lady at the front where I needed to go to pick up my online order and she directed me accordingly. The person who had my order checked the order with me to make sure everything was there since I ordered so much and then I was out of there. I paid online so it was even more seamless. I hate to leave a 2 star review because I genuinely enjoy the food here but this particular issue has happened one too many times to not mention it. I ordered some chicken here and it was super dry. Not the first time either. But really, that's not even the my main point here. It's their lack of sauce. The last 3 times I've ordered Bonchon (here, Arden, and Natomas) there's been almost no sauce. What makes all this even worse is I've asked for extra sauce (and paid more for extra sauce) and barely got any more than the usual amount. Being stingy with the sauce on a regular order is one thing, but to still be stingy with the sauce when the customer pays for extra is next level. They don't do sauce on the side so that's not even a route one can take. So I'm not sure what else to do here. They usually make great chicken (not this time but that's besides the point this time), but why be so stingy on the sauce, especially when charged extra for it. I hope they change this, but until then I'm going to hold off on ordering bonchon for a while. read more

It was so-so, but for the price, I could go to a more authentic Korean restaurant. The service from the get go was bad. I felt bad for the hostess who was unable to do her job seating people because the place was seriously understaffed. She was running around cleaning tables, getting drinks that the server should be doing, and seating people. Our server took the order all at once, which was fine until she never brought the water. Food came at all different times. We ordered chicken fried rice, pork buns, and the medium combo of chicken wings. I'm normally not a fan of any fried rice, but I'll admit that it was tasty. The pork buns were just buns since the meat was practically non-existent. A bao with veggies and sauce. The garlic soy wings were tasty. If you're a drumstick person, you'll be a happy camper. We ordered the strips which were good, but after having a drumstick I only suggest getting that! It was much crunchier and even more flavorful. We tried both the savory soy and the spicy. I found the spicy to be way too vingeary in taste and a very intense spice. I loved the savory sauce. We also tried a salmon roll. This was good, but I wouldn't order it again. Yum! My stomach is always happy when I get some Bonchon. I've been here a few times now. For my birthday, get together with friends, and random nights out, and it's never a disappointment! Most recently, I was served by Chris and he was great. He was attentive and filled up my water without me hunting him down, made a few friendly jokes, and made helpful suggestions. For example, I don't like spicy too much, and I'm more of a mild person. Chris informed me it's all about how much sauce they put onto the fried chicken that determine the spice level. And if we wanted more of a mild taste, he can ask the staff in the back to put a little sauce to the chicken. As for the actual food, I couldn't stop eating! The fried chicken has the right amount of crispiness and and flavor. There's two flavors - soy garlic and spicy and you can't go wrong with either. It also includes cubes of radish to cleanse your palette in between all that chicken - which I recommend. The seasoned fries are a favorite of mine too. I'd recommend asking for a side of ranch for both the fries and chicken. Best part is that the ranch is complimentary. The restaurant itself is clean and trendy. Including the restrooms. I loved that they included the whole wing. I love eating bone-in chicken.
