After having a craving for some good fried chicken my wife and I decided to head up to Bonchon for a quick lunch. The location is a little tricky to get to, but after we arrived we were seated quickly. We decided to get some of the potstickers, wings, and fried rice. For most of their options, you can decide between a Spicy or Soy-Garlic sauce. They also let you get half and half which is what we did for both the wings and potstickers. The wings did take a bit, but they mention on the menu they're made to order and allow around 30 minutes, this held pretty true. Everything came out with a great flavor and both sauces were really good. Although the spicy sauce was a bit much for my wife, I enjoyed it. I have been to other locations of this chain before in the Philippines, and was excited when I heard they were opening one in Orlando. The ambiance of the restaurant was very relaxed and open. I had high expectations of this place. We had ordered the half & half to get a chance to try the spicy and the soy garlic. The chicken tasted pretty good, with enough crunch to it; however, the spicy felt like it only had a small kick to it. People who are not that into spicy should be able to handle it. We also ordered the bibimbap and the japchae, and it was just satisfactory, compared to other korean restaurants that I have been too. If I were to come here again, I would probably only order the chicken wings. In regards to the price, I would say that it is a little more pricey compared to other korean restaurants, and the portions weren't very big on the bibimbap and japchae. First time visiting this Bonchon location. While they warned us early on that they were short staffed and the food would take longer, service was very attentive and staff was very nice. We ordered the soy garlic fried chicken and chicken fried rice. Everything came out hot and tasted as well as in other Bonchon locations. I did notice several people picking up takeout so that may be a good choice if short on time, otherwise I would recommend this Bonchon location. read more

You know how you can have a decent meal that gets ruined by service? Yeah that absolutely happened here. I've been to bonchon before in VA and was excited to take a friend for lunch for the spicy chicken. Our waiter who was nice enough, takes our order for the wing lunch special and strips lunch special and doesn't bother writing it down. A pet peeve of mine is when a waiter doesn't write your order down--in my experience it's about 50/50 whether they get the order entirely correct. It's frustrating because as your waiting you have this dread taking over your stomach. As you guessed it, our waiter flubbed our orders and brought both of us wings. Moreover one of my wings was a chicken leg and not even a wing. We were in somewhat of a hurry, so I said screw it and just dealt with the messed up order. This was our first time at this location....First-it took close to 15mins for a waiter to come to our table but again we are practicing patience due to the shortage. I have been to Bon Chon in different places, Virginia, and NY, and this Bonchon was not the same. The chicken here seemed much smaller and not as crispy. I was super excited to come here when it was grand opening, so I came here on the friday of their opening and was overall pretty dissappointed. For fried chicken, that is pretty pricey, it definitely deserves to be larger than the size it was. The drumsticks were tiny and even ordering a plate for yourself it would not make you full. I also ordered the octopus ball, and it was SUPER inconsistent. I had one that DID NOT HAVE ANY Octopus in it at all. Come on now.... THAT SUCKS. Also ordered the chicken tenders, save your money. Excited to finally have a Korean restaurant on semoran. If you're looking for authentic Korean you'll be disappointed, this is an American franchise with many chicken options. If you're a fan of spicy food however then stop by! Please be aware that Mexican spice is different from Korean spice, their spicy wings might be too much even for jalapeño lovers. I've seen a grown man sweat and women tear up. I myself couldn't make it past two wings. If you don't want spiced wings, go for the soy garlic wings, you can do a half combo of both sauces. Newbs will like the japchae because of its subtle flavor, I added soy sauce to bring out more flavor. The bar serves beer only, not a full bar. We went during the grand opening weekend, so it was understandably not the best experience. We waited an hour to get seated and maybe between an hour to two hours to get the food. Unfortunately, everything was just okay. Portions were pretty small for the price. The katsu was not very well done. The only redeeming quality of the meal was the wings. The spicy was spot on, Korean style spicy. The other soy flavor was delicious. Nice and crispy. The atmosphere was just okay. We were seated at a high top and the seats were extremely uncomfortable! The red hue within all the lighting was also a big turn off. I couldn't really take any good photos and it made all the food look just a tad less appealing. Wanted to try something different so I stopped over from my hotel. Ordered the fried shumai for an app. Everywhere else I've had this steamed. Bonchon has it fried or steamed and it comes with honey mustard. Mmmmmmm Then I got the small order of fried chicken strips in soy garlic sauce with pickled radish . Wow that was a lot of chicken. Their strip is more of a medallion sliced off the breast. Now I just have to get to the one on my hometown. read more

I have mixed feelings about this place. As a Korean American, this place is serving some of the classic comfort dishes of Korea. It was a bit odd for me to go to a Korean place and not see a single Korean person working there. With that said, I got the Bulldak. It was spicy. The waiter tried to warn me about it & he was right. It was good, there were pieces of Duk (rice cake) & the dish tasted right. My problem with it are two fold: 1. It's a korean place with no kimchi. You get some pickled daikon radish but that's not the same. Although kimchi is not typical for Korean FC place. 2. They don't have the full fried chicken. Korean Fried Chicken is amazing & takes at least 20 min to prepare. They only offered the wings. Overall I think it's a good place but wish they had the full chicken & kimchi. read more

Korean Fried Chicken and beer is one of my favorite things to consume. Visited Bonchon during our last day in Orlando. It is conveniently located near the airport in an area heavily concentrated by hotels and about 20-25 minutes away from all the major theme parks. I ordered take out. Heres my honest opinion. It was okay. The location is nestled in a strip mall next to a Japanese hibachi restaurant. The interior is clean and modern with a small bar area. Ordered small half and half wings. Be warned as the wings are really small and comparable to wing stop sized wings. The wings at BWW are actually bigger. Garlic soy was a little on the sweet side and the spicy was pretty spicy. Wings were nice and crisp. Also had the pork buns which I did not care for. The pork belly was dry and lacked in flavor and the slaw made the buns soggy. Prices were also high. Not sure if this was due to the location being smack in the middle of the Orlando tourist sector? 10 small wings and 3 buns totaled $25. Was pretty disappointed and probably would not return. Kyochon blows this place away but you have to go to LA or NYC for that. read more
