My family and I stopped by this place right after arriving in Orlando and were pleasantly surprised by the wonderful food!! We ordered the bulgogi tacos, bbul dak, bulgogi sliders, and soy garlic wings. They were all so yummy! The bbul dak was the perfect spice for our Korean taste buds! After trying the bulgogi tacos, we ordered more because we loved them so much! The bulgogi sliders were also good but lacked some flavor to it. The soy garlic wings were crispy and a yummy flavor! So close to being a five star establishment but the prices were a bit high for small servings. And it did take a little while for our food to come out. The chicken was AMAZING! The soy was a perfect blended between salty and sweet and the spicy was delicious, however if you're not good with spice definitely avoid the spicy flavor because it is very hot. The meal comes with small pickled vegetable () that is very good and overall Bonchon did a lovely job on making sure the to go order was correct and that nothing spilled. One of the best Korean chicken I've had in south Florida and I would say the only negative if I had to pick was the waiting time, but it was understandable because of how many people were there. 100% recommend eating here. read more

So let me tell you I have been waiting for Bonchon forever! When I heard they were finally coming down to Orlando I was prepping my taste buds for the beauty and crisp of their famous Korean Fried Chicken. A fast growing franchise originally from the Northeast, Bonchon are the tried and true of that beautiful Korean crisp that I have come to love. So when it comes to the chicken you can pick 3 different cuts: wings, drums, and strips. A 10-ct of wings or strips will run you around $13 before tax (5-ct for drums). Now if you want to try variety, I'd definitely say give one of their wing-drumstick combos a try, which in my opinion is best bang for buck. The chicken comes in two flavors: garlic and spicy. Trust me when I say you should try both. While Korean fried chicken is typically known for being spicy, it is definitely not that spicy here. You should be fine if you can take sriracha on the regular. Now while they are known for Korean Fried Chicken, they have a lot of traditional favorites such as ddeokbokki (fish cakes) and japchae. In my opinion most of these were aight but not jaw dropping good. The ddeokbokki were far spicy then the wings, and the salmon avocado ball was good but not worth $11. They don't have a full bar here so if drink is what you're looking for you'll have to settle for wine or beer. They have few craft options and local brews on tap, but honestly it wasn't very interesting to me. Happy hour is more of an afterthought from 4pm-7pm M-F and you only save about $1 per drink. Since I went during their soft opening there were quite a few hiccups during service. Most people found themselves waiting and I saw a few orders messed up myself. The service staff is definitely nice, but they'll need to get it together if they are going to deal with all the people who are excited to stop by Bonchon. There is a lot of buzz in the community so I'm looking forward to how they develop in the coming weeks. I've been to a few Bonchons before so upon my arrival I was not expecting anything different from this chain than the usual fare. The atmosphere and setting is dark with black metal chairs and grey wood table tops and red accents. The service was prompt and our waiter was friendly, however she cleared our plates before we finished our food. In regards to our food, we ordered the wings, japchae, and salmon avocado ball. The japchae was our favorite of the 3 dishes, the veggies were crisp, noodles were cooked well, and there was a hint of fragrant sesame oil. The salmon avocado ball was like eating volcano sushi topping. It had cucumber and scant pieces of avocado on the inside of the ball and was wrapped with a thin layer of crisp baked and torched salmon. There was also spicy mayo and eel sauce glazed over the top of it. Now the most important part, the wings. I was not impressed with the wings, as they were dry like they had been fried for too long and didn't have much seasoning/sauce on it. We had to ask them for more sauce because it wasn't sauced well. When we got the wings back they had a good amount of sauce and were more palatable. With the wings we also got a side of daikon that really balanced out the spicy wings. Overall, if you are craving korean wings, this spot might be your place. If they can find a way to not overly fry their wings, I would be glad to come back and give them another chance. Since it is near the airport we stopped on our way home from s flight. Decent fried chicken with a distinct Korean flavor of spicy gojuchang and a crisp exterior. The pickled radish that comes with it helps soften the heat The takoyaki were excellent, soft little pan fried balls with a creamy interior and two tender pieces of octopus. The kimchi was pleasant. The place has a modern street interior and though known for their Korean fried chicken they serve other classic Korean dishes. I am not sure I would drive all the way down to their first location just to eat but I heard there are seversl other locations that will be opening closer to downtown and UCF. read more

Which at that point gave food order cause trends. 38+ minutes to get salmon appetizer. Then less than 10 min later the chicken arrived. In all it's soy garlic-ie goodness. I've been looking forward to eating here since they annouced the store opening. Finally went today, and was not disappointed! Once seated during a somewhat busy lunch hour on friday, our server came right over. Drinks and edamame were ordered and delivered promptly. For our main course, I ordered the strips with the half and half (half spicy, half soy & ginger), my mother ordered the strips with spicy, and we split the bulgogi bimimap. It took roughly ten minutes, and bam, delicious food at the table. I absolutely LOVED the half and half, and my mother had the same reaction for the spicy strips. The bimimap was very flavorful, but not quite as good as some others I've had. At the end of our meal, I wanted to take some of the bimimap home, and server bussed our table, grabbed the togo boxes and bill. Overall, very impressed with service. My friends in DC and NYC have been telling me about this place but after my experience, it was honestly "meh." I came in for lunch and ordered the combo wings which includes 9 wings mixed with two kinds of sauces. The wings are SUPER crispy! Like I think they double fry these bad boys cause I've never had wings that were this crispy in my life. As for the sauces, there's soy garlic and spicy. The spicy sauce isn't spicy at all. My first Bonchon experience was in the DC/Maryland area more than 10 years ago so I was so excited to try out Bonchon again, esp with high expectations! The famous large chicken drums. Bonchon Orlando is locates in a plaza across from the Orlando airport so you may have to take a toll to get here, we have Sunpass so it was easy. We walked in at 3pm and it was empty but great for us! Since my last visit (Arlington area) the menu has evolved beyond the signature chicken with soy garlic flavor. Hey now have chicken strips, salads, etc. I was set to order the Bonchon salad which I was anticipating to get during the 2 hour dry from North Florida, ordered the salad, just to have the waitress come back and say that Corporate is cancelling the salad because it wasn't selling well, even through its printed on the menu. Meh...so I got the Bonchon wrap instead, which was good but not what I really wanted. Kimchi coleslaw was our second item we wanted to order just to have the waitress tell us again that it was on the menu and Corporate is getting rid of the item. What?! Why?! Another disappointment. My husband got the wings and drums combo...it came out and it was not what I expected not remembered from years prior. The drums were tiny but the flavor was good. We spent $70.00 for 3 meals, one soda, edamame, and shrimp shumai. By the way there's no kids meal so we had to order a regular size Japchae for the toddler. I had Bonchon once when I was in Cali and had to drive an hour to get it, so imagine my excitement when I heard there was one opening up in town. I had heard lukewarm reviews from a few friends during the soft opening, but took a chance and went three weeks later. To my amazement, there were not many people on a Saturday night and we were seated immediately upon arrival. The restaurant was new, clean, and modern with dimmed lights - a little too dark in my opinion because I like to see how the food looks as I'm eating. We ordered the bull dak (fire chicken) entree and the medium combo wings. Food came out in a reasonable amount of time. The fire chicken was spicy like the name implied! It was still delicious, although portion was kind of small. The wings were good and crispy and had good flavor, though the amount of sauce seemed less than I had recalled. The pickled daikon was a nice compliment to the spice, but chopped slightly too small to get that nice crunch. The food was good but not much to rave about. The wings were still wings and didn't feel that much different than ordering buffalo wings from a sports bar that has a lower price tag and more lively atmosphere. Well, My wife and I decided to check this place out this afternoon since there has been a bunch of buzz about the place. Leaving the house, I checked Yelp to see any of my friends have eaten there yet to see what "can't miss" items I need to check out. I was surprised that none of my friends had received it yet even though the place is about a week old and it's been the talk of the town. I immediately saw the negative reviews and chalked them up to opening week troubles. We arrived and the first thing I noticed was the "This door must remain unlocked during business hours" lettering on the door, facing backwards to us as we walked in. Thought it was odd that they didn't use letters that wouldn't be visible from the outside which made the front door look odd. Whatever. Minor thought. We entered and saw about 1/3 of the restaurant seated. There was a sign to wait to be seated, which we did. The hostess came to us rather quickly. She said there was only two servers on so we needed to wait. She told us it would be ten minutes. We were the only ones waiting and there was the entire bar and a rather large chunk of the dining room open. We agreed but were confused. It's opening week of a new, much talked about restaurant... why weren't they prepared? It just felt like the normal chain restaurant mentality in saving costs through labor. After but a few moments, we were asked by the hostess if we would like to sit at a high top. Being given no other option, we said sure. The hostess lead us to a 4-top table (with 6 chairs) and placed menus and place settings down before we sat. After we chose where to sit where we would be most comfortable and converse with each other, the hostess rather awkwardly moved the place settings and menus to where we were. She left us after informing us a server would be right with us. Less then a minute later, the bartender came over and asked if we wanted anything to drink. Having only glanced at the menu, we didn't know what there was and he didn't make any suggestions so we just went with a couple glasses of water. After studying the menu for a little bit we decided we would share a small order of their famous wings. The bartender said their traditional spicy is "very spicy" and the other Soy Garlic, is not. He also said we could do a half & half, which we did. I will say this about their menu. I was surprised by the price. $12.95 for a small order (10 pieces) of wings and $23.95 for a medium (20 pieces). If you wanted only drums, it the $12.95 small only came with 5 pieces. I was a little taken back. We also ordered Japchae with was a stir-fry dis of glass noodles, red peppers, carrots, spinach mushrooms and beef. After straining our neck to see what tap handles they had, we added a couple pints of beer. A few moments later the bartender returned to us with one of the two pints and said the keg blew and asked what I would like. I asked if there was another keg and if it was going to be changed or did I need to order something else. He paused for a moment and said, let me see if we have another. I would hope that on their first week, they have a back-up keg of beer. A few moments later he returned and said there was another keg and they will hook it up soon. I said "cool. I can wait." My wife took a sip of her beer and said it was good that I didn't get one because it was flat. I took a sip and agreed. There is no way a new place like this could have a flat keg. In my opinion, their gas mix was off and needed to be adjusted. After a coming back a couple times and telling me the beer was coming, it did arrive and it tasted like my wife's beer. A little over 20 minutes after ordering, the food arrived. 20 minutes seemed a bit long especially with only 1/3 of the restaurant seated and a good chunk of the people were already eating. I wouldn't normally comment on the length of time it takes for food to come out unless it is truly excessive since I worked for over 20 years in the full service restaurant industry and I know that there can be problems. What didn't sit right was seeing two different people come out of the kitchen to fill their styrofoam cup with a drink at the bar and go back to the kitchen. One person came out more than once which resulted in a woman in a cap, who I assumed was a manager, to clap her hands and the guy and get him to hurry up and get back in the kitchen. I first went for the Spicy wing. The flavor was great. Nice, thick crunch to the wing. Delicious. Not as spicy as we were warned. The Soy Garlic was also very good. The wings were hot, juicy and fantastic. The side of pickled daikon radish was a great touch. The tart, cool, snap of the radish complimented the wings. The Japchae was also very good. Excellent balance of flavors. We were finished up and I noticed more and more people coming in the door and waiting to be sat even though there were a bunch of tables left. So naturally when I had the time to go because this place is quite a drive for me I wanted to eat it fresh from the restaurant itself. I went with a group of 10 people and when we entered there were maybe about 3-4 parties already there either eating or waiting for their food. I decided to order their 10 piece friend chicken wings with half soy garlic and half spicy along with an order of tteoboki. The wings, just as it tasted when I had it to-go, did not disappoint and if you can handle spicy than I highly recommend their spicy wings. The wings itself are fried to a perfect crisp and it's sauced just enough to where it's not drenching all over the wings. Each order of wings also comes with a side of pickled white radish. As for the tteoboki it honestly wasn't anything special than any other Korean restaurant. Not horrible but nothing to set it apart. It comes with the rice cakes of course, fish cakes, onions, green onions and topped with cheese. Now the main reason why I'm giving this place 3 stars instead of 4 is because of the service. Perhaps it was because we had a table of 10 or maybe because this place is fairly new but the rate that the food was coming out to our table was quite sporadic and slow. I understand that wings take time to fry so i get why that would take some time but there were people at our table that ordered dishes like fried rice that took forever to come out along with my tteoboki. I had to ask the server multiple times where our last two dishes were and by the time they brought out my tteoboki I was already done with my wings. I'm willing to go back to have their fried chicken again because they're honestly really good. This is not your traditional buffalo wings, but really tasty. I had both the Spicy (no really spicy) and sweet. Both was really good but what makes it worth wild is how crunchy it is. They use a Korean batter and double fried. Another thing is the dill radish. It's a really good and made it a unique combination that I would have never thought. The service is really good too. I was sat down right away and provided my drink in a few minutes. My wings also come out about 10 minutes. Right now, I would give it a 4 stars. It is too bad. I love Korean fried chicken and this chain was a place that felt like home to me. I've had it in Los Angeles, and New York, so I was pretty sure I'd come out of this place satisfied. Boy was I wrong. They messed up my order terribly, and then they blamed it on me saying I didn't request it that way. I know for a fact I did because spicy is something my boyfriend was allergic to, and whenever, no matter which bon chon in the US I go to I say half/half: plain and garlic soy sauce. Then they finally offered to refund the chicken but not the pork buns... and they NEVER did!!! Don't come here to get your needs met. The portion was far smaller than one would expect, and pretty much the size of a side dish of rice at any other restaurant of this type. After hearing about the soft opening and the poor start, decided to wait a little before I visited since they deserved to get their ducks in a row. The fried chicken was absolutely amazing. As good as I remembered. The Bibimbap and the Bulgogi were not that good. You are better off going to a Korean BBQ restaurant if you want traditional Korean meals. Also, there are still some hiccups with the service as we had to wait an extra twenty minutes for the bulgogi because the food runner delivered it to the wrong table. It was an honest mistake I am sure but annoying nonetheless. Also, why why why do they serve the white rice for the bulgogi on the PIPING HOT SKILLET?!?! The rice was burned on the bottom. The rice should be served in a separate bowl or plate. A little common sense in this regard would have gone a long way. In conclusion, this place is good and they have worked out most of the issues that seemed to be prevalent during the first week of opening. The service at this location was horrible. Ordered 2 plates (30 wings each), of soy garlic and the spiciest wings they had. One plate was wrong. Waitress took the plate back AFTER it had been touched and eaten. Came back to tell us the chefs taste tested it and said it was spicy. Since when do restaurants take food back to taste test it and return to tell the customer they were wrong? Got food remade for it to be wrong again. Waited 2 hours for nothing. I used the bathroom when we arrived, I slipped And fell on my back when entering, there was water everywhere. It was Terrible service. It was very slow and there was 3 servers. We ordered at the beginning food to take home to my children. She did not put in the order. After waiting for the food and asking her to check our table orders, very slow and it made my experience not good. read more

These new strips are a joke. Expensive and half my order are no bigger than Chick-fil-A nuggets. No crunch. And in addition to the size, I'm missing a strip. Wouldn't mind so much if the price dropped with the quality and quantity but at nearly $20 plus $6 for a half filled container of fries, I won't be back.
