The order consisted of half and half soy garlic and spicy chicken, kimchi fried rice and bottled sodas. The order wasn't ready and I went in to inquire about the delay. There was a young guy who seemed to care less whether we got the food or not. I inquired about the order and was told that it wasn't ready. He delivered our order to the car around 5:47. It took about 20 minutes to get to my destination but the wait was definitely worth it! The chicken was so crispy and extremely flavorful. The kimchi fried rice was ok but seemed to be missing something...perhaps garlic powder. I looooove me some good korean fried chicken and Bonchon is my go-to spot! I always get an order of wings with half soy garlic and half spicy. Just be warned, spicy is pretty spicy! I also had the takoyaki which was better than I expected it to be. It wasn't super chewy due to the octopus so it tasted really great and the texture was perfect. I've only ordered takeout from this location and it's a really easy process. You can order online and they notify you when it's ready to pick up. We ordered chicken katsu and specified that we don't want any sauce on top, the way we've always ordered this dish elsewhere. When we got it, the chicken was topped with vinegar! We spoke with the cashier and were repeatedly told that's how it was made. After she finally texted the manager, he came in and agreed to make us another piece of chicken. I also ordered the pork belly buns as an appetizer but they were okay. They have a lot of other stuff on their menu but again, I feel like their wings are the only thing work getting! The menu featured first the fried chicken then some Korean, Japanese and fusion dishes. I opted for the small combo fried chicken with half mild and half spicy saucing. I also got the seasoned fries. The chicken was crispy with a batter-like consistency and they were sauced well. The spicy sauce had a good level of heat without being too much. The fries had a good amount of parmesan cheese and tasted like dashi. Overall the food was a bit salty but was balanced nicely by the sweet pickles. Many items on the menu had a high price point, which is enough for me not to come back again. It's good to try if you haven't had Korean fried chicken. The taste was absolutely spot on Bonchon. I was disappointed that they didn't have any ice tea (only that available in a bottle) or water (in a bottle) for purchase. My last visits to this chain require more liquid than one refill of a cup to quench the possible Bonchon spicy fire. They actually had drinks and water available (not in a bottle). This isn't a complaint about the food, I just wish this had been available. If I had known that before driving in an area I'm unfamiliar with I may have picked something else.. but none the less they had no problem with we bringing my own drink ( an ice tea) from my own car. The service was great! The employees all seemed so friendly and were pleasant to deal with. You walk in and sit wherever you would like and order at the registers. There are no waiters or waitresses that come to take your order. This is the type of restaurant where you basically do self service. The food was really good. We got the large combo that cam with wings and drumstick, half spicy and half soy. We also got the buldak on the side which was spicy ddeuk(rice cake) with onions, chicken, and rice! This was shared between four people! I would say that this was just enough, but you might want to order one more dish for four people, depending on how much each person eats.
