Refried/triple fried, over-fried or just plain old. This drumstick basically disintegrated because of how dry it was.

Not much has changed since they closed and reopened.. one bright side is my recent order was actually ready on time. Bad news, half of the chicken was either refried or over fried, while the other half were perfectly fine. This leads me to believe it was a refried older batch - either way inedible.

Better this time, lunch specials all had their rice or pickled daikon. The chicken bone in was crunchy and the new flavors of yangyeum and the Korean BBQ were both a hit with the group. The kimchi fried rice had plenty of bacon but very little kimchi. Service quick to grab bags all made and though they were a bit short on utensils, people were happy at the meal.

This restaurant's menu is simple and to the point which I appreciate because it doesn't overwhelm me with options lol. Inside there's less than 10 tables, so it definitely gives the vibes of grab and go rather than stay and sit to eat. I ordered takeout and less than 20 minutes later my food was ready so that was suuuuper nice. I got the chicken sliders and the fried rice& they were flavorful, spicy, and portions were large for the price. Great takeout spot, will definitely be back!

Small Fried Chicken Combo with Pickled Radish (~$14) & French Fries (~$4).

Ordered: 8pc Chicken Strips (~$11 Lunch Special): half soy garlic & half spicy with side of French Fries House Fried Rice with Bulgogi (~$11 Lunch Special): marinated ribeye with Jasmine rice, fresh vegetables, and fried egg topped with sesame seeds and a cucumber garnish Aya's take: I placed my order ahead of time and it was ready when I arrived. The Chicken Strips were a big miss, in my opinion. Each strip was thin, dry, and extremely chewy. I could barely finish them in all honesty. The House Fried Rice with Bulgogi was overall pretty enjoyable. I would give that alone a 4/5. It is a bit sweeter than you'd expect and there's an overwhelming amount of red peppers and onions. It definitely needed some salt or a savory ingredient. Plenty of bulgogi in each bite. Stick to their traditional chicken when coming here!

Stopped by for some takeout fried chicken. Had this before at another Bonchon and we loved the crispness combined with the honey flavor. Ordered a large box of wings and drumsticks with radish pieces. Everyone loved the flavor.

Bonchon chicken is one of the best fried chicken chains I have ever had. The Korean fried chicken just hits different and tastes so good. I would recommend getting the spicy with the radish. I will say their sides are pretty expensive for the amount you get (rice and radish). To the point where I would make it at gone or get it somewhere else. Their other food besides the chicken is also very solid as well! But their main draw is definitely the fried chicken.

    Spicy wings from lunch special

My sister and I ordered curbside for lunch on a weekday and it was ready roughly 5 - 6 minutes after the estimated time on the website. Loved the lunch specials as it was really fresh and a good deal for the chicken! We both got the combo 4 wing and 1 drumstick lunch special on the website but it actually came with 4 wings and 2 drumsticks. My favorite sauce flavor is the spicy fried chicken and I opted to get that while my sister got half half with soy garlic as well which is pretty yummy too. The only reason for the loss of a star is the portion of tteokbokki rice cakes which was relatively small for $11.95, and the overall normal pricings of the place. Will definitely return if I have a strong craving for Korean fried chicken and can't male the 45 min trip to Edison for BBQ Chicken at Lotte Mart.

    Pickled radish

Service: We called the order in and picked it up as soon as we got there. Ambience: Clean with plenty of tables to sit at. Food: We ordered from here when it first opened. Just ordered again recently and was shocked to see how much the wings shrunk. They are tiny compared to when we first ordered from them. Unfortunately there are a few other Korean wing stores in the area that's better than this and have bigger wings. Onion rings are good. Zucchini fries use to be long. Now they are circle and have more breading and less zucchini. Pickled radish is always a hit.

The place is a simpler local eatery, so decor wasn't exactly a designed by some of the best New York interior decorators, but it was pleasant and very calm. Even the drinks have fun little lights in them! Service was very kind and attentive but also lets you take your time - which is lovely! The restaurant was pretty busy, but we were seated quickly. You order your veggies, noodles, dumplings, and meats from the waitstaff and they bring it to your table. There's a lot to choose from, but overall, I don't think the combination was worth the price. For the hot pot, we tried the Original Style broth and the Chinese Herbal Style broth. The Original was okay, but the Chinese Herbal broth was really delicious and easily the better of the two. We tried fatty beef, Kobe beef, sliced beef belly, premium beef, Angus beef, steak ribs, house special pork belly, tripe, shrimp, oysters, lobster balls, tofu, seaweed, watercress, Napa cabbage, corn, pumpkin and udon noodles. The steak ribs were one of the standouts and were a very good cut of meat. The pumpkin was surprisingly good too. It tasted almost like they added butter to it. Unfortunately, the Angus beef was disappointing. There was practically no marbling, and it was a very tough cut of meat. Most of the other items were just okay. Another issue was the bathroom. It wasn't maintained particularly well, which stood out even more because the restaurant wasn't very busy when we arrived. When a restaurant isn't crowded, I expect areas like the bathroom to be kept in better condition. Dessert was probably the weakest part. In my opinion, the dessert selection was almost nonexistent. There was ice cream and only a couple of other choices, including red bean and a tapioca dessert. The tapioca tasted like it came from a can. For $36.99 per person, the Hot Pot + BBQ combination just wasn't worth it for us. There were too many items that were simply average, especially considering the price. If we had chosen just the hot pot, however, I think I would have felt differently. The Chinese Herbal broth was excellent, and the hot pot alone would have felt like a much better value. Overall, there were some definite highlights, but between the inconsistent meat quality, limited dessert selection, bathroom upkeep and the overall price, three stars feels fair.
