Best chicken I have ever tried! I love their spicy chicken wings, only problem is that the spice isn't consistent. Some days it's extra spicy, other days it's more on the mild side. Either way, it's always good. I wasn't a big fan of the pork buns. The cucumbers were too thick which over powered the dish. Their soju is really good, preferably the lychee! My husband loves to mix mango and yogurt. However, there has been a couple times we had to ask them to make it stronger. But other times, it's perfect. Monday afternoon; no wait!! Super delicious and affordable!! We shared everything we ordered. Top item, the bulgogi tacos!! Spicy and the meat was so tender and delicious. Definitely my favorite thing!! Second best was the pork buns (and it was almost a tie); they were a great combination of textures and flavor with a super fluffy bao bun. Third favorite was the shrimp shu mai (we chose fried not steamed) with good flavor! Fourth fav was the chicken katsu which was fairly straightforward and served with a side of regular coleslaw; miso soup was also pretty standard and tasty - bonus points for being generous with the seaweed and tofu; it was quite a hearty serving. Final fav was the salmon ball which I didn't hate but didn't love either; it was baked salmon on the outside but the food on the inside was cold and I struggled with the two temperatures in the same dish. So disappointed after eating here. Chicken wings tastes different from the other branches and doesn't taste like the original. I've been to Costa Mesa and New York City branches and I can tell their chicken wings tastes the same. Kimchi bacon fried rice was horrible too! Rice are so hard to eat. Bonchon is a worldwide chain that specializes in Korean Fried Chicken. I've tried the Bonchon in Natomas, in Elk Grove, Singapore, and the Philippines. I find the quality of the chicken in all places to be all comparable, with the exception of the ones in the Philippines, which were subpar. The Natomas location serves this same famous fried chicken. The chicken is breaded and coated with a sweet and spicy honey type glaze. Surprisingly, the glaze does not affect the crunchiness of the skin. The sweet tangy flavor is unique, and I loved it. Before Bonchon opened in Elk Grove, their first branch, I remember ordering Korean Fried Chicken in other local Korean restos, and let me tell you, it's not the same. This review is on the customer service. I generally enjoy the food at bonchon (This is my first time at this location. I've been to the Elk Grove location multiple times). I'm sure the food here would be great too... If they could serve it in a decent amount of time from the time it was ordered. There was a span of 50 min from the time we ordered our food to the time we got *most* of it. We ordered a large order of wings, among other entrees, and side orders of rice with the intention of eating the wings and rice together. The wings were served first and 25 minutes went by before the rice was served and that was after a couple inquiries concerning the rice. The wings weren't warm anymore at that point. We sipped on our water as we patiently waited for our food and even getting a water refill meant trying to flag down any server that would walk by. The service was unsatisfactory and no apologies were made for the wait. The only thing they were quick to get out was the bill. read more

The manager was assuming and rude as I walked in and asked if I was picking up or to go. I said I am dining in and then he asked for how many people. Um, how many people do you see? I'm alone. Then when I ordered my food I wanted the wrap as a salad and instead he brought me the wrap as a wrap with no meat. No apology, explained a 2 Nd time and when they actually got it right, there was zero flavor. I've been to many Bonchon restaurants but this one had the quickest service and kindest employees by far. Our takeout order had a mistake which they promptly corrected and apologized for. Finally ordered at this location for the first time last week. I don't know why I expected it to be bland but was I wrong. I ordered the usual half and half. Each time I've been here the food has been delicious. Yesterday I went around 5pm with my family and they seated us quickly and our orders did not take long to come out. We had the bulgogi, tteokbokki, chicken house fried rice and a side of seasoned fries. The fries were crispy and tasty and the rice surprisingly had a crispy texture as well. The spicy tteokbokki is my favorite dish so far. The servers are kind and always make sure you have everything you need. Before we left I ordered takoyaki to go. The waitress misheard me, probably because I mispronounced the order and so she accidentally charged us for another tteokbokki. Once we realized the mistake she fixed the order; she was super kind I wish I had gotten her name. read more

This place is alright. I prefer the Arden location. This place is spacious and clean, but the service could be more top notch. The servers always walked by, but never asked or checked on my boyfriend and I. I got the tteokbokki and I'm aware on the menu it says it's spicy, but it's so spicy that I couldn't get more than 4 bites in. When I asked the waiter if there was any way they can tone the spice down, they couldn't do anything about it. My plate was still pretty much full. They didn't offer me anything else or care to take it off the check. The bulgolgi tacos were really good, but super messy. The staff needs to be more attentive and not so laid back. read more

The employees don't know what they're doing. First, food that we didn't order was brought to our table. They put it down on our table and left it for a solid 5 minutes. We told them we didn't order it so our server went into the kitchen, then came back to our table, asked if we had touched it, then took it to the correct table. Seeing that is a big no for me, especially during a pandemic. Then our bull dok came out with the rice cakes missing. I notified one of the employees and they told us they will remake it for us. 5 minutes later, he just comes back with 5 pieces of rice cake. Love this place! My boyfriend and I come here most of the time whenever we're craving and each time their customer service gets better -- checking up on my boyfriend and I frequently and refilling our waters. Recommend the CHICKEN WINGS!! They're bomb! We tried most of the food on the menu and we love the Bull Dak which is spicy chicken with rice cakes and topped with their signature sauce and mozzarella cheese.
