Hip place for korean wings As a store that is part of the Bonchon chain, this store is pretty consistent. The wings taste the same as most other Bonchon locations, twice fried and served hot. Portions are pretty big, especially the daikons. Unfortunately the spicy rice cakes tteokbokki tastes kind of weird, and stale. Maybe they put cheese in it? Definitely the color of the sauce looks orange instead of the expected red color, and don't taste spicy at all. Maybe they modified it for the non-korean crowd to make it less spicy. In any case, was a little disappointing since the tteokbokki here costs more than what you would pay for at korean food places. In any case, the staff are friendly, and the food comes quickly. Inside, the tables are clean, and the interior is very modern and hip. Price is a little high for korean food, but the price is consistent with other Bonchon locations, so price is not a big deal. Unfortunately, our experience with Bonchon was not good. We had been to and loved Bonchon's Oregon location, but our recent experience at the Sacramento/Natomas location was subpar. The boneless chicken was very overcooked and was more like hard, round mini golf balls than the chicken we had enjoyed at another Bonchon location. None of us enjoyed them. On top of that, the staff was inattentive and seemed more interested in chatting & laughing with each other than providing service to anyone. Additionally, our table had not been appropriately cleaned after the previous customer(s) and was quite sticky. Not sure how it has a high rating. It was pretty mid. The chicken drums a too big and just the top has flavor. The wings are ok nothing special got the soy garlic and spicy. The coleslaw was what ever the picked radish was good. Over priced it quality could be better. I ordered food for takeout. I ordered Korean bbq wings w/ complementary pickled radish, pork belly boo buns, and takoyaki. Everything was fresh and delicious! The wings had a nice little kick, the bao was nice and fluffy, and the takiyaki was kind of creamy inside. The only thing I would have liked was if the pork belly were a little more crispy. Came in and stood for a couple minutes until someone, who at the time looked like a customer because he was sitting down and talking to another customer, stood up and welcomed us. After our order was taken, we waited quite awhile. We were able to notice that a customer had came in and waited to be seated as well. He was not greeted or recognized and after quite awhile as well, he left with nothing (bc we had assumed he was picking up for DoorDash). We got our food finally but we were really waiting for the chicken wings. After we had already almost finished what was brought out, the chicken finally arrived. However, the group of five next to us that came much later than we did received their chicken first. Then, we find out that it was not all wings like we ordered but a combo of wings and drums. I've only been to the Arden location and this is my first time here. I stopped by around 1230 for lunch.As soon as I walked in I noticed how this is more a restaurant theme than the Arden location. I was promptly seated and given a menu. The space inside looks nice with black tables and gray chairs. They also have a bar area! As far as alcohol they have draft beer, bottled beer, and bonchon wines! I ordered the lunch special that consisted of 4 wings and 2 drums. For my side I upgraded and got the seasoned fries. We ordered all three flavor options: soy garlic, sweet crunch and spicy. Since I'm not really good with spicy foods, I only had the soy garlic and the sweet crunch. This was my first time trying the sweet crunch and I really liked it. It was similar to an American honey glaze sauce. The wings were HUGE! Both the drummies and the flats were a really big and we ended up having leftovers because we did not anticipate them being that size. We also ordered the seasoned fries and the cole slaw for sides. The seasoned fries were like crack, I couldn't stop eating them. I'm not a huge slaw fan, but I really liked it. I usually order their pickled radish, which I LOVE. Service was great. The servers were punctual and attentive. This was my first time at this location and the first time to Bonchon for my friends. They had happy hour and we checked it out for beer and app selections. They took our order promptly. Our drinks and food came out in a timely manner. They came by enough to ensure that we had everything we needed. This restaurant is located in a large strip mall anchored by Marshals and Planet Fitness. I thought parking would be a challenge since it was a Friday night during the busy holiday season, but I was able to find parking easily. Bulgogi - Tastes like magolian beef. It wasn't tasteless like the japchae but not enough to order more. Soy Garlic Wings - The meat itself was good but the sauce was too salty. We ordered 20 pieces and couldn't finish it because the soy sauce was over powering the garlic. I tasted no garlic. Bacon rice - it was alright, but the bacon was like it was warmed up and added to the rice. So not a complete loss but we tasted better. Came with hubby on a Sunday out of no where cause we happen to be n the same place Halloween shopping. We have tried their food in San Jose and that's why I'm so happy that they're much closer to home for us. We walked in around lunch time at noon and they let us pick out place of seating and within a minute of sitting we got menus and water at the table. There are so many good choices to pick from but I know they're known for their chicken there. Hubby ordered miso soup, and garlic soy pot stickers and I order their combo chicken with 2 choices of sauce of garlic soy and sweet crunch. Also keep in mind if you Do order their chicken wings you have to give them up to 30 minutes to cook it because it's made to order. The miso soup took 5 minutes to come out first it was tasty and then about The rest of the food came out out shortly afterwards the miso it was pretty fast and all hot and very tasty. The servers were very very attentive to us with checking in, extra napkins and more water. We wanted every on the their menu it was very hard not to order more then our stomach size . And for the price for the both of us to eat and be really full was so worth it. The only thing I would have to say is their picked radish needs to be more picked.
