As I walked to the bathroom I saw an employee vaping in the kitchen area around the food, and there also seemed to be a gnat problem around the bar area because I saw a swarm of them near the beers. My wife also overheard an employee making an inappropriate joke in Vietnamese about a customers, which was disappointing to hear in a professional setting. I hope these issues are resolved because the food itself was good, but the hygiene and professionalism definitely need improvement. read more

We have been ordering for delivery from this location for a while now. Our usual order is the 9 piece mixed chicken wings and drums. We've also had it so many different ways - half spicy half soy garlic or sometimes half classic/plain. The sides that come with order are either coleslaw or daikon/radish. The family favorites are the spicy, soy garlic, and the daikon side. We've never had problems with our orders, it's always right. Visited the restaurant a few times and it's nice and clean. The soy garlic was good - get ready to scare the vampires! It's a safe choice if you like teriyaki and garlic. The sweet crunchy was a bit "different.". It was a mix of multiple spices. Not hot, but mildly sweet, but with Johnny's-like seasoning and maybe mirin. The crunch wasn't there. It appeared to be dusted with either corn or rice flour plus the usual coating. Rice goes well with this. My husband enjoyed the cole slaw. Fries looked to be too much but were tempting. Since the chicken was available in 10 or 20 pieces, plus a larger family size, the two of us wondered if we should get 10 or 20. The menu suggested 10 for one person, and we wanted leftovers so we got 20 - they gave us 25! For me, 5 or 6 is a filling meal, coupled with a side. Hubby ate 7. Too bad they didn't have a 14-size as that would feed two normal hungry adults or make a snack for 3 or 4 ! I haven't been inside, but my husband says it's a good place for casual dine-in or to-go. They are Korean based and reminded me very much of Vons Chicken. They also serve a few other Korean dishes like Bulgogi. We ordered 20 wings in Yumyang sauce with an order of seasoned fries to go. It came to $35 and I was not planning on spending that much for lunch but it is on par with eating out these days. We got home and it was still hot in the bag. The wings were much bigger than anticipated and full of flavor! If I had known, we could have gotten away with a smaller order. The fries were one of the best I have had. BEST PLACE FOR WINGS I have been to 3 different Bonchon locations around Sacramento and this one is my favorite! (#2 Elk Grove #3 Arden). This location is the largest inside and has more of a sit down restaurant vibe with a nice size bar & bar seating. Also there is a playground right outside and I was able to sit by the window and watch my kids play while we waited for our food! (Note: The slide is currently broken and blocked off securely). Our server was friendly and the host who sat us checked on us a couple of times too. This is a wings spot so the food takes a little time to cook but the wait is never bad. This time when I went to eat it was lunchtime and I was pleased to find out that they had lunch specials! I got the boneless wings (1/2 spicy 1/2 garlic) with fries and it was a 5/5 for the combo! Even my kids loved the plain fries and devoured them. I also got my favorite starter the Bulgogi Fries 5/5 every time! The flavor is so good and unlike any flavored fries I have ever had. My 5 year old son also got a side of the plain white rice and he ate the whole thing. The food is always good, but it's very noticeable when they give certain people old coleslaw or bad rice. There has been a couple of times that I have had to maybe try my best to ask for fresh food, which is always awkward to do because you would expect that but anyway love the chicken and the other foods will recommend this place too, but make sure to ask for the glaze for your doughnut and fresh rice and fresh coleslaw maybe it's because they're busy. Came in for dinner with my family and we all enjoyed our visit. We got both the spicy chicken and the garlic soy flavored chicken. As a person who loves spicy food, I prefer the spicy flavored more. Tried their bibimbap, tteokbokki, and bulgogi too. Everything was good and a must try when you visit. I'm a huge Bonchon fan and have eaten at many locations in different states, always with great experiences. Unfortunately, this location was a major disappointment because of the manager. When picking up a phone order, I casually mentioned that the coleslaw tasted different. I know this because I order dozens of coleslaws weekly. The manager immediately became defensive and spoke to me in a condescending way, as if I had no idea what I was talking about. Only after ringing up my order and seeing the large quantity did his attitude suddenly change and he said he'd "mention it to the kitchen." had a second interaction with the same manager and he was just as rude. When called out, he gave the classic non-apology: "I'm sorry you feel that way," instead of taking responsibility. The food itself is fine, but management like this can easily ruin a location. We've been coming here since it opened. Over the last two years the service and quality has gone downhill. The last two times we've ordered to go, we've had items missing. We arrived and waited. We arrived 10 minutes before the order was supposed to be ready. 20 minutes after the time to be ready, it was. We checked and all the boxes and the math added up. Drove the 15 minutes home and the $14 meal that includes a donut is missing the donut. It was the youngest kids turn to pick. And it was her meal. So I called and was transferred to the "manager" who apologized while telling me to get over it. It's just a donut. I can drive back or move on. But, it's busy so it isn't their fault and they aren't dealing with me tonight. Just a heads up, a little bit of customer service goes a long way. A sincere apology. An offer to replace it next time without telling me it was my fault for ordering it. The rest of the food was meh. Is it the best Korean Fried Chicken I've had? No, but it's solid, and that's to be expected with a chain like Bonchon. It made the tongue tingle with the spicier flavors, which I appreciated. One of my pet peeves is when they make the flavors more subtle to appeal to a wider range of flavor enthusiasts, but they genuinely have something for everyone when it comes to spice tolerance. The kimchi was just alright, as were the fries that were ordered as sides to accompany the wings. The people working were pleasant, and did their best to serve us in a timely manner. They topped off the fountain drinks quickly, which I appreciated, as I tend to drink a lot. Without asking, the staff magically appeared with more to quench my thirst. Can't ask for more than that. Granted, came in an hour that wasn't the busiest, but still greatly appreciated. If you're in the neighborhood and have a serious hankering for Korean Fried Chicken, this would be an ok spot to fulfill that craving. Loaded bulgogi fries tasted pretty good but should've been a bit more "loaded" with a tad bit more bulgogi meat, rather than sauces and cheese. Japchae was very plain-tasting, bland and not enough flavor. Spicy Korean bbq wings were pretty dang spicy but not enough sauce and texture of meat was a bit on the dry side. The radish cubes were delicious but it was a very small portion and they don't offer free refill on your side when most authentic Korean places offer unlimited banchan refills. Surprisingly, when we reheated it up at home the next day, the food was actually overall a little better tasting than when we had it in the restaurant. An extra star for the nice server who helped us make the right decision when we couldn't decide between 10 or 20 wings haha...thanks for looking out. We came in on a windy day, which caused the lights to go off. Which made there POS system turn off. There was table that needed to pay, this young worker kept saying they could write down their card number. I work at credit union, that's a lawsuit nowa days even if the customer authorized it. There's other forms of payment. Staff wasn't as great, besides the one on the register. She was very nice and patient with us so we appreciate that. As for food, still good as always. Oh my goodness, what a great surprise. A perfect blend of Korean taste profiles with American grub. I ordered the wings with half Korean spicy and half soy garlic. Both were truly fantastic. Talk about great wings! I'm not sure if they're quick fried or air fried, but they're beautifully crispy Filled with perfect chicken flavor and just the right amount of seasoning in the sauce. Bonchon has a variety of locations around the area and while Korean fried chicken has always appealed to me, I've never ended up making it out to one of their spots. Yesterday, I hit their Natomas location (the one closest by) during my lunch break as I had an hour for lunch and I saw they had some great lunch specials. Parking was a bit of an issue, as none of the spots directly by Bonchon were available and for some reason no one in the parking lot seemed to know how to drive while I was coming in. Not Bonchon's issue at all, but a bit of a warning. This parking lot is a little chaotic around lunch time! I parked a few rows away and walked over, avoiding the busiest part of the parking lot. Upon entry, I noticed a few tables occupied, but an otherwise fairly empty restaurant. Not sure which of the places all the other cars were visiting! I was greeted immediately and was asked if my order was for there or to go by the employee behind the bar. I said for here and another employee immediately walked over with a menu and sat me down at the table. From there, I was attended to by a few employees who were quick and attentive while also giving me my space. The employee who led me over took my drink order and I went with a Diet Coke. They brought it back swiftly as I looked at the menu, and after looking through their lunch specials, I decided to go with the ten piece boneless wings with both of their sauces. I'm a sucker for boneless wings! I also decided to upgrade to seasoned fries. Within a few moments, the meal was out. Both sauces were good but I ended up enjoying the soy-based boneless wings a little more. The hot wings were good but maybe a little less flavorful and mostly just hot. Which isn't bad, but it's good to have some flavor with your heat. Fries were nice and crispy and were a good portion size, though the seasoning was also lacking a bit. I think it was garlic and parsley? Not bad but they needed a little extra something. But over all fine for the price! During my lunch, another employee came around with a carafe to fill up my soda. Really great service here! Within a few minutes of finishing, they offered to take my plates and brought me my check. I put my card in the check holder and they took it and were back again just as quickly. Really appreciated the fast service with multiple employees pitching in here. I'd definitely come back but I think the boneless wings weren't the way to go. They don't seem to season their wings BEFORE the breading and saucing. So, you get a crunchy, saucy experience, but once you get past that, it's nothing to write home about. 2. Good portions. The wings are big and meaty. The meaty part would be awesome if you got more seasoning INSIDE their wings. 3. Decent prices. Not cheap, but not outrageous either for what you get. 4. If you are in the mood for good fried chicken I highly recommend giving Bonchon a try. Bonchon remains a favorite for Korean Bbq for my family and I. The service is very fast you may order in advance for pick up also. We ordered the fried chicken with split flavors: soy garlic and Korean bbq. An order of fries, an order of the bulgogi sliders which included a small side of coleslaw. Delicious everything taste very fresh and the chicken is perfection. On a scale of 1-10 we give it an 11. A bit pricey but very well worth it you will not be disappointed with the amazing flavors. In the past we've also tried bulgogi and japchae. Both also amazing. The flavors are right on the money.
