The regular sauce can be a bit bland if your batter to meat ratio is off i.e. you ordered a drumstick. But it is perfect on a wing if you just want the soy garlic taste. The chicken itself was juicy and tasty. Can be a bit greasy but then again we're talking about fried wings here... The place: Clean. Seating is limited so there can be a bit of a wait. The large order came with two sides, so we decided on rice, which is only a small bowl portion, and the kimchee coleslaw, which was meh because all I could taste was kimchee liquid. I got Bon Chon (take out) earlier today and was pleasantly pleased with both my food and service. We ordered 2 large soy garlic orders and it was more than enough for 4 people. Although the batter was a little thick, the sauce and size of the chicken made up for it. I normally can't eat things that are too greasy without getting a headache, but I was able to eat until I was full before I felt the beginning of a headache forming. The cashier, David T., was very patient as we ordered and even when we picked out food up late (maybe 30 minutes later due to our horrible experience at Ten Ren...), he greeted us back, asked if everything was okay since he couldn't find us earlier, and even joked around with my sister to make our day better. I always order the large order, half and half sauce, with 2 orders of the kimchi cole slaw. The crunchy fried skin of the chicken is always thick and on point (it's the best part of fried chicken, and Bon Chon obviously knows that). I would order all spicy if it wasn't super spicy for me haha but the garlic soy is also good, just might be missing that "kick" for some people who have needy palettes. We came here at 9:00 pm on a Saturday night and it wasn't too crowded. We ordered a Large 12 wings, 4 drumsticks combo with half soy garlic and half spicy with kimchi coleslaw and rice as sides for around $22 with tax. The food came out very fast, our server was very friendly and our drinks were refilled multiple times. The skin of the chicken was very crispy and didn't get soggy even when they cooled down. The drumsticks were a lot bigger than the wings, but the meat was plentiful nonetheless. There wings weren't overly drenched in sauce, but they could've coated them better in my opinion. The soy garlic ones only had a drizzle on one side. The coleslaw tasted like the KFC coleslaw but better, with a kick of spice. I enjoyed the radish cubes too; they were very refreshing. I've been living across the street from Bon Chon for about four months and this was my first visit and DAMN have I been missing out. Food is fantastic, seems like a good quantity for the price. The wings and drumsticks are HUGE so plan accordingly. 2-3 was more than enough to fill me up. I will say, the spicy ones are a little too spicy for me - definitely sticks with you although I admit to being a little on the wimpy side. The non spicy (soy) was just incredible. Normally, I really like bonchon but the past two time I went their chicken wasn't as good as before. The last time I went to this place I got food poisoning(this was the only thing I ate on that day so I was positive it's from their radish or chicken because it did taste kinda off ). I don't think I will go back anymore. But in the past, I think their fried chicken was pretty good and it's similar to Kyochon chicken in LA but bonchon's chicken is a bit bigger. Their tacoyaki was very good I really liked it. Normally theirs a like during dinner time or weekend (the longest I waited was 35-40 min which is pretty averages waiting time) Their service was pretty good most of the time. There's a few Korean fried chicken places now in Southbay. Most of them are pretty good. Bonchon has been around for awhile and what's different about their fried chicken versus others is that theirs has sauce on it already. You can get it spicy or non-spicy. The fried chicken is pretty good. It's mostly tender and moist but I think it could be a little better. But it's the sauces that really help it out and take it to the next level. There's always a line whenever I go and it seems like a lot of people or take out from there. Prices seem reasonable, although it's not cheap. Side note: their daikon side is pretty good as is their kimchi slaw. read more

I came here with my friend and man, was the chicken delicious. I got the mix of spicy and soy sauce chicken strips and both taste delicious and the size of the strips were pretty good too. It even came with sauces too! The cool thing is they even sell yogurt soju too. I only tried the yogurt but they mixed it pretty well; you can barely taste the alcohol. If you're ever in a mood for fried chicken and drinking, this is the best place to go to! The only downside is the wait.
