This is going to be lengthy but please read before you spend over $200 at this place. First I'll start by the fact we had a very large group with a private room. We paid for open bar and getting drinks was near impossible. The lack of attentiveness made the ability to get drinks near impossible. The food..... we ordered the chicken piccata and it was absolutely awful. The chicken dry and you could barely cut. I personally walked my plate back to the kitchen and asked the chefs to try the meat. For over 200 dollars this is unacceptable. Worst of all it was. Chicken and potatoes? That's not a chicken piccata dish, it's supposed to be served over angle hair pasta. Gordon Ramsay would have thrown the dish right over the counter himself. All in all I'd never eat here again for the price you pay, very bad experience. Man oh man! What a great restaurant, the service and food were equally amazing. We had reservations for 8 at a different restaurant in National Harbor (Succotash, never again) and when we got there, we were told that they were closing the restaurant because they'd been hacked (eye roll). This wasn't any normal dinner, this was a family event with everyone coming in from out of town to visit with family that was visiting from Wisconsin. I called Bond 45 and they had our table all ready for us before we made the 10 minute walk AND put us in our own space. read more

My coworkers and i deceived to come here yesterday to celebrate one of our friends passing their nurses nclex. It was such a great atmosphere of just unwinding, good laughs, and fun talks. The food was absolutely amazing!!! I had the friend shrimp and friend calamari appetizer, and it was soo delicious. Then i had the lemon butter chicken which was sooo tender and the mashed potatoes were sooo tasteful. Finished the night off with a chocolate mousse cake. Employees are thieves and/or liars. I was there today and left a jacket. I called within an hour of leaving. These folks had the nerve to tell me someone else came in and asked for the same jacket which is unbelievable. The jacket was a sorority jacket which I didn't even wear into the the restaurant and it was folded and hanging on my purse strap and partially concealed by my body. Additionally I sat in a very small room in the back of the restaurant. If they couldn't find the jacket I would have totally understood if someone took it after I left but to say someone came in and asked for THAT jacket is ridiculous. read more

I am a steak snob, and have eaten in some of the country's best steakhouses over the years. I had the ribeye steak at Bond 45 and it was the best I have ever eaten. One of my dinner companions must have said 5 times that the char was amazing and I agreed completely. The char, the perfect medium rare center, the seasoning and the quality of the meat could not have been better. I also had the pear salad which was good, but not on the level of the steak. The service was friendly and attentive. Due to the hugs and jokes between several staff and clients, it was clear that the restaurant had a lot of regulars which added to the great experience. We had the most amazing experience and dinner at Bond 45! There was a hiccup in our reservation booking but when the manager, John Edward found out about this mishap he was determined to make our experience special and provided the most amazing customer service. We had a large party and EVERYONE enjoyed their meal, we received amazing table service and were greeted with excellence in all aspects of the dining experience. The location of our table allowed for our party to be together in a semi-private area- which was perfect. We truly appreciate the complimentary champagne and appetizers. My husband and I came here for dinner tonight before seeing Bill Burr at the Theater at MGM National Harbor. We decided to take advantage of the nice weather and sat on the patio underneath an umbrella table. We had a nice view of the waterfront and were able to people watch. Our server, Lofti, was charming and made our dining experience pleasant and personable conversing with us and he had a sense of humor. I had perused the menu before our visit and had been eyeing the Cheese Ravioli & Jumbo Lump Crab Meat. I had also asked Lofti and he highly recommended it. Now looking back at the menu online I see a discrepancy as it was cheese ravioli but the restaurant menu says Crab Ravioli. It came with thinly sliced asparagus and garnished with sage in a butter sauce. I would say the ravioli was average. I generally like ravioli that is stuffed with meat or seafood. In this case I would have enjoyed the ravioli more if crabmeat was inside. My husband ordered the ribeye which comes with onion rings and mashed potatoes. I generally get this every time we have come in the past but I didn't have much of an appetite so went for something lighter and less filling. He gave me a bite of the steak and onion ring. The steak was good, however, we both agreed that the onion ring tasted a bit old. Not as good as it normally does. To end dinner, the restaurant offers complimentary mini chocolate chip cookies. (I assume bc of the rain that day). Service was extremely quick, drinks, appetizers and entree came out within minutes of ordering. I had ordered a Chicken Alfredo, the chicken from the Alfredo was already touch to stab into, but to add the cherry on top, there was a piece of hair in the chicken. I don't think i need to add more. I came to the harbor for lunch on a Saturday and Red Stone, McCormick&Schmidt's and Fiorella all had waits so we ended up going to Bond 45.it was cute on entry and the hostess sat us promptly. We got garlic bread for an appetizer which was delicious. My husband got the steak&eggs and I got the chicken parmagiana. My husband's eggs were tasteless and his steak was tough&over cooked. The rosemary otatoes that came with it were good though. My chicken was good but the spaghetti with marinara under it was pretty bland. We both got a cranberry mule and my husband also got a peach smash. The drinks were stellar. I also ordered a plain apple juice and it was $6.50 which I thought was ridiculous. The service was lackluster. Our server disappeared after he brought our drinks. We ended up flagging down people for help the rest of our meal. I thought maybe he went on break and no one took over his table but I later saw him on the other side of the dining room. At $156 it was definitely not worth it. Snotty Receptionist and Drunk Waitstaff ! Totally unexpected Thank goodness for at least ONE great and thorough waiter whom did the work of 2! Labor Day Sunday, restaurant was not busy at 7:00 pm and our party of 4 was seated immediately, although in a walkway, after passing through the expedite area, in a rather dark and unfavorable location. We asked the receptionist to change our seat and when we indicated where we would prefer, she shut us down by nastily replying that was VIP seating (whatever that means, as no reservations were required nor were they busy!). We found another area that was okay for her and she placed us there with an attitude that indicated either she hated her job, or her shoes hurt! We sat for approximately 10 minutes waiting to be acknowledged while the waiter attended to 2 other tables of 2 persons each that were just ordering. Finally, we held up a water glass to indicate that we needed a drink and the waiter came and said "Just a minute." He disappeared for about 7 to 10 more minutes and finally appeared with ice water. We happened to request that one of the waters have no ice and his famous phrase was uttered again "Just a minute." ... and he ran away after filling only 2 of the four glasses! We also asked if the air con beside our table worked and he had indicated that no, so we asked if we could change tables.... Which we did! Rather than return to us, he was observed by our table taking a full glass of wine and drinking it all down... in full view of restaurant patrons! That act prompted one of our party to go and search for a manager... as by that time, we had been in the restaurant for nearly 25 minutes and no one had taken our order.. nor filled the water glasses yet! Within about 2 minutes a "new" waiter (whom then attended to us the remainder of the evening) came to tell us the menu specials, bring us complimentary glasses of Prosecco (in an attempt to compensate for the utter rudeness and incompetence of the previous drunken waiter); and took our orders in double time. We did not have any further contact with the original waiter although he did come and stand immediately beside our table as our meals were being served. That was very strange... as if to say.."how the heck did that happen! I told them to wait a minute... 45 minutes ago! The second extremely competent waiter, was also observed "cleaning up" after the aforementioned drunk waiter at the 3 other tables that he had served, as none of them were satisfied! The very last table to be seated even repeated their order 3 times, and I heard them yelling something to the effect "hey, come on man... what's going on? We have repeated the order 3 times and you still don't have it right!" All 4 tables were served complimentary drinks, we were served additional 2 desserts, yet the drunk waiter was still slurring words and leaning over the ordering computer when we exited the restaurant. The food: we all enjoyed the food ordered. Nothing to complain about there. 2 of us had specials; butternut squash soup (plus arancini) and grouper; the other two had regular menu items; pear salad with a crab cake and chicken parmigiana. They gave us complimentary bread and butter while waiting for our meal. I got the lunch Hors Douvre and entree deal. Which included butterfly filet mignon and a decadent tomato bisque soup. The soup was amazing and perfect for the rainy and cold December 31st day. The filet mignon was not as great unfortunately. It was not seasoned great and came out quite bland. I honestly don't know where to start. Simply put, Bond 45 is nothing short of amazing! All of the food was absolutely delicious! From the appetizers to dessert, there was not one entree that was less than perfect! We had and highly recommend the following dishes: Meatballs- the mix of proteins made these a delicious choice! Garlic Bread...needs no introduction! Caprese Salad...the fresh mozzarella was so fresh and creamy! Fettuccine Alfredo with Chicken - was my daughter's fan favorite and the pasta tasted homemade! Filet with roasted potatoes...all seasoned well and cooked to perfection! The steak had a good char while being super tender and flavorful! Sangria - is my mother in love's favorite! Cheesecake and Chocolate cake- OMG, don't skip dessert! You will regret it! The restaurant has a friendly, comfortable fine dining atmosphere that perfect for a fancy date night or a casual dinner! The restaurant has spectacular views of the harbor and ferris wheel, which makes it a fun and memorable experience! While the food and the restaurant were nothing short of spectacular, it was the employees of the establishment that truly made our night! My mother in law is a regular and the staff treat her like family! From the hostess and servers to the general manager, Johnny, they all did everything they could to turn a regular night out into something really special! I was pretty disappointed with my dining experience here. I'll admit that my expectations were high going in, but Bond 45 is a well known staple in the National Harbor area. I decided on 3 stars because the location is amazing, the restaurant seems clean and is comfortable, and our server did his job well. The restaurant ambiance is nice. It has a warm feeling, ample seating, and the rooms are relatively private. Views of the surrounding area are awesome. Our server (Zachary) did a good job taking care of us. Thanks Zachary! A couple of the other service members we saw working could really use some training. It might be because we were there at an irregular time, but I would have appreciated if the rest of the team was as good as the person that took care of us. The food was no better than a Stouffers frozen meal, and left us feeling disappointed and with upset tummies. We started with the Caesar salad, and it was prepared correctly, but the greens were way past their prime and should not have been served. They were covered in brown spots and tasted a little bitter. I ordered the Chicken Parmesan (menu says it's one of their specialties), and my fiancé had the Fettuccine Bolognese. The best way to describe the chicken is a large Tyson chicken nugget with way too much cheese on it. The spaghetti in red sauce it is served with is pretty standard. The Fettuccine noodles were also standard, but the Bolognese tasted like something out of a hamburger helper package. There was an overwhelming tomato paste flavor that made the whole dish unpalatable. We were originally planning on having desert here too, but after the first two courses bombed, we decided to cut our losses. We won't be visiting again. read more

2nd review after 2nd visit.. review rating went up to 5 stars. My friend and I returned to this place because we remembered how much we liked our food and the service we got. I'm so happy to say that our 2nd visit was even better than the 1st one. I thought the restaurant was a small, narrow place due to where we sat the first time around, but this 2nd time, we were lead to the back, through the chic kitchen, and to a dimly-lit sitting area. I explored a little and found that this restaurant was pretty huge, with small, private rooms, outdoor seating, and a sunroom (?) dining area. The whole place was pretty cool. We had the pleasure of being seated and personally served by the manager, John Hanna aka John Edward (name change after receiving U.S. citizenship), the same guy that has been mentioned several times on their Yelp page. John Edward was absolutely wonderful! We felt so spoiled by him, and he's so genuinely nice. He let us try some appetizers, wine, and dessert for free! Here are my opinions of the free items: - burrata/mozzarella with heirloom tomatoes and arugula: The burrata was so divine! I just loved how soft it was on the outside and creamy & juicy on the inside. Perfectly flavored. The tomatoes were fresh and seasoned with crushed salt and pepper. They tasted great. The arugula were drizzled with tasty vinaigrette. I couldn't get enough of this whole dish. The burrata is homemade every morning! - homemade meatballs: These were absolutely savory and succulent! The tomato sauce it came with was addicting to me. It was a bit salty, but I kinda liked it like that, with the meatballs anyway. - mozzarella bites: They were so delectable on their own, but the tomato sauce underneath and Parmesan cheese on top made this whole dish even more scrumptious. These mozzarella bites are a new dish by the way. - cheesecake & chocolate mousse surrounded by homemade cotton candy: I didn't get to try the cheesecake but I did try the chocolate mousse and cotton candy. I would've easily self-indulged on the chocolate mousse had I not self-indulged earlier on the appetizers lol! The cotton candy tasted like normal cotton candy, but I appreciated it more since the manager got it made as a special treatment for us. It was such a cute presentation. - prosecco wine: You all know what prosecco is like. Onto the appetizer and meals. My friend and I got the calamari again because we loved it so much from the first time we had it here (see my original review below, when I gave them 4/5 stars). I wrote a 2nd description about them in this section, but Yelp is making me delete some words because my review is too long to post lol. As for our meals, I can't really say much because we got too full from the appetizers haha! I got the old fashioned burger, my friend got the crab cake burger, and her mom got the fettuccini. My friend enjoyed her crab cake, her mom thought the fettuccini was just okay, and I was only able to eat like three fries lol. The fries were different by the way. They were topped with ROSEMARY and Parmesan. The fries were quite unique. They did not appeal to my friend's palate, and her mom thought they were dry. I'm not sure how I feel yet about them. The flavor definitely caught me by surprise. I think I could do without the rosemary. As for my medium well old fashioned burger, that'll have to wait. They served us with free bread and butter right away. We only ordered the calamari and Caesar salad since we were on a time crunch. The calamari was sooo good. The white sauce that came with it was very tangy, and I loved it! The calamari pieces were mixed with jalapeños and red bell peppers. They went so well with the tangy sauce. I couldn't get enough. The Caesar salad was interesting. They did not break the lettuce leaves into smaller, bite-size pieces. Instead, they doused each huge lettuce leaf with Caesar dressing and covered each leaf with thick crumbles of Parmesan cheese. My friend and I had to use our forks and knives to cut the leaves into smaller pieces to eat them, but we liked that they came out that way. We thought it was interesting and a nice change for Caesar salads, and of course it was delicious. I quite liked the customer service here as well. The waitress who served us was very professional, kind, and concerned with the service that we were getting. She made sure our food came out quickly when we told her we only had 30 minutes to eat and that our 30-minute experience here was a positive one. read more

I came here for a week night outing with my husband and baby. There weren't very many people in the restaurant due to covid, so the staff were very attentive! We started off with a couple of cocktails and ordered shrimp Alfredo fries for an appetizer and really enjoyed them! Even the baby liked them. For me, this was the best part of the meal. For entrees, I ordered steak frites and my husband had the crab Alfredo gnocchi. The steak frites were just okay, but my husband said the gnocchi was awesome! We were too full to have dessert as the portions for the appetizer and entrees were pretty large. This is a 3 star review solely based on the fact that about half of their pasta dishes are some variation of Alfredo. It was quite disappointing to go to an Italian restaurant and not get pasta due to the limited offerings. There were a handful of pasta dishes that were not Alfredo, but they weren't very appealing to me either- and I love pasta! I don't know if the menu is limited due to covid, or if this is the norm. Very average food but beautiful views. They open at 1 pm and ask to sit on the corner area of the balcony if you can as it overlooks the Ferris wheel and river. This is a DC post of a long standing NYC restaurant and just like there it's a place that's fine but not terribly memorable. The service was good and I always appreciate an old school type of restaurant. The seafood pasta decent, with mediocrely fresh seafood and good pasta. Steak was over cooked as we asked for medium rare and it came back as well done both times. I think because the steak was thin they probably had a hard time controlling it. We also got a salad was that tasty but not too memorable. Overall, the area is new and developing and it's a solid choice if priority is a beautiful view, which lets face it - it often is! read more

What a disappointment. Overpriced pasta dishes..my $23 chicken Alfredo tasted more like my mom's tuna noodle casserole but with Zero salt. No condiments on the table, portion of wifes seafood linguine was adequate and tasted good. We were not offered cracked pepper or fresh parmesan for the homemade pasta. Our group started arriving at 6 and we were promptly seated. The room had three tables. Our waiter took drink orders from one table and disappeared to take care of some other tables in the dining room. At 6:30 two tables had still not had their drink orders taken and no drinks had been brought out at all (except the water on the table). Since we were paying for a 2 hour premium open bar starting at 6pm, I went up front to speak to a manager. I expressed sympathy for any staffing issues Bond 45 may be facing but wanted our party served since we were paying for the open bar and were 25% through the time without a single drink being served. She told me there was no staffing issue and would send some help back. After another 10 minutes drinks started to arrive. Our waiter returned to take our orders. Appetizers came, The salad and rigatoni were nicely presented. Dinner arrived. The plates were placed in front of the guests and we never saw our waiter again. Never. Not once the rest of the evening. Considering the gratuity that we were charged we expected more from our waiter. Three guests at my table ordered their steaks rare. One was rare and 2 were medium well. They wanted to send them back for the correct doneness but nobody came to check on us after the food as brought. After about 10 minutes they gave up and ate it medium well. The fish was supposed to come with brussel sprouts and did not. Again, nobody came to check on us to see if we needed anything. After a while, the attendants came to check on drinks. At that time I was told our drink service ended at 8:00pm. I reminded them the we didn't start seeing drinks until 6:40pm when our service started at 6pm and that I felt we were owed another half hour of service. They went and brought back a manager who said the best she would do was offer another round of drinks. I don't know if this ever happened or not. Dessert came. No coffee was offered. I was presented with a bill by one of the attendants. After I signed it, the unconcerned manager returned to say that we were undercharged for the open bar and present me with a corrected bill. Mysteriously one dish of missing brussel sprouts appeared as we were walking out. Last time we dined at Bond 45 was a completely different experience. We left very disappointed this time. I contacted the person that booked our event and let them know all of this. She said she would look into it and contact me to see how we can make it right. I never heard back. read more

I picked this place because they had Bourbon on their HH menu, seriously. Anywho, what I didn't check was their food selection as well. Doh. Let me take a step back, located at thee National Harbor closer to the side of the water. Nice inside, with views of the water and outdoor seating. I'd say a nice place for a date night with a TBT or FBT. Upon taking my seat I was less than thrilled with our initial bartender as I felt he wasn't as attentive as I would have liked. He made up for that with his pour. Say what now what. Exactly. HH was fair to middling, mostly small plates, I suppose I'm spoiled because I like to eat good too. I don't really think I was able to do that. I got bar food - fries and meatballs, delicious but not enough. I failed to order from the dinner menu as it was more that I cared to spend on that day, and nothing really called my name at the time. The service picked up and a good time was to be had. I'd try their regular menu and sit outside if someone else paid, can't say I'd intentionally pick it out though. read more
