Bond 45 is one of our all time favorite restaurants. Having lived at National Harbor for 12 years, this was our go- to place for a casual dinner or a special occasion. The food is always excellent and service is efficient and friendly. But, the managers have become like family to us. Al and John, Juan and Taria, Chef Amadou--they go out of their way to make every meal special. Tonight we had a perfectly prepared prime ribeye with delicious parmesan potatoes and a tiramisu to die for. Now that we live in Florida, we often wish we could walk out our door and get a great meal with great people like those at Bond 45. We really miss you. read more

Nice brunch! Wide variety of options. Well prepared buffet, tasty food! In addition to multiple brunch entrees, appetizers, and desserts, they have a waffle and omelet station as well as prime rib with au jus. We loved the mini croissants and $5 sparkling rosé too. Great service with attentive waiters and cozy atmosphere. Bring a healthy appetite for brunch! Juan our bartender was an absolute gem. He made me a virgin Moscow mule, and i absolutely loved it. The place has a great view of the harbor if seated by their patio. Their extensive menu has all things delicious and you can get carried away. We were mainly there for drinks but enjoyed their fries and pasta. Do not miss out on their dessert, I enjoyed every bite of their rich and very dense chocolate cake, paired well with coffee. read more

Bond 45 at National Harbor has always been one of our favorite restaurants. However, we moved out of the area in the summer of 2020 and have not been back until last night. We made a trip to National Harbor, primarily to revisit Bond 45 and see if it was still as good as we remembered. We can happily report that it is as good - and maybe even better! Our service was absolutely impeccable. I enjoyed the fillet and crabcakes and my wife enjoyed just the crabcakes. All the food was absolutely perfect. (I have to say that I think they make better steaks than some of the other high-end national chain such as Ruth's Chris and Mortons.) We were also warmly greeted and enjoyed on an incredibly pleasant conversation with the general manager, John Edward. He went way out of his way to make sure that we enjoyed our experience and all I can say is this. We can't wait to go back. read more

On this visit I had the ribeye, meatball appetizer, a pasta dish (shared), among other things. Everything was decent but the steaks. The biggest disappointment was the ribeye. For $65 the quality definitely was not there. There was a lot of sinew (silver sking) and gristle. The person I was there with got the ribeye as well. We were both less than impressed. Due to my disappointment I performed an experiment. I went to Lidl and bought a 16 oz ribeye for about $13. This steak was much better than the $65 disappointment at Bond 45. Granted, I was able to put more time into the preparation such as reverse searing it by bringing it to temp in the oven at 225 deg to an internal temp of 125 and then blasting it in a cast iron skillet to get a nice crust, but the meat quality in general was better. I know some of you will say, "well every steak/cow is different..." However, both of our steaks were disappointments. read more

Came here for a late night happy hour. Ordered french fries... tasted like McD fries. Only fried once perhaps. With a spicy ketchup that you dont know is spicy. The onion rings were cut and still had skin on it. Served with a side of marinera sauce. Service was meh... tried ordering food. Servers would walk away as I am talking to them. read more

Ok, let's start with saying our party of 4 was feeling quite good having left the MGM and heading back to The Gaylord when we realized we better get something to eat. Walked in and since it was getting towards closing time we got a table. Everything was a little fuzzy but I do remember getting good service, having more drinks, and laughing a little too loudly. Wedge Salad was fine, and I enjoyed the bolognese so much I dropped some on my nice shirt. All in all a fine meal with good service and a great time with friends. Excellent location with great views of the area. The food was excellently prepared. As a appetizer, the mozzarella bites where a huge hit with fantastic flavor for dinner. The main course the table ordered the filet, 2 orders of chicken Alfredo, 1 order of shrimp Alfredo. All of the food came out perfectly cooked and great flavor on all the plates. Only reason not giving 5 stars is service was extremely slow. Unfortunately, it was not to busy at the time we had reservations but appeared we where left out of sight out of mind. It took nearly 15 minutes prior to the waitress to come bring us water, another 10 minutes to come back with bread and drinks ordered. Wife and I had reservations for this place on a Thursday night. Our waiter was fantastic. I appreciate honest wait staff. When we asked for opinions on items, he told us the truth. He informed us that certain items weren't that great, some were overpriced in his opinion and which were the most popular and the ones that he personally enjoys. Our first round of food was an appetizer. We ordered the garlic bread with pesto. It was fantastic. It comes hot out of the oven and has a filling of butter, garlic and light pesto. If you like garlic bread, this is a must try. Our next round was salads. We ordered caesar salads. Nothing out of the ordinary there. We also ordered drinks. My wife started with the Velvet margarita. Decent, but a bit heavy on the pomegranate, but still good. I tried the 45. Listen! That drink was great! Its a cognac drink with citrus and the citrus cuts the cognac flavor perfectly. It was so good, that my wife ordered one on the next round. Now for food. The waiter said that the steaks were great and that my wife's possible choice of the lasagna was a good choice. My wife and I are always skeptical when it comes to lasagna being ordered at restaurants. Not sure why, but we've always been disappointed when we do. I was skeptical about ordering a steak at an Italian restaurant. I've always been of the mindset you order steaks from steak houses, seafood from seafood restaurants, Italian food from an Italian restaurant, etc. But we were both pleasantly surprised at our dishes. The lasagna was fantastic and the steak was seasoned perfect and cooked perfectly. The only bad thing about this place is price. My steak was $58 and my wife's lasagna was $29. That is very steep! Was here for a business luncheon- while at a conference at the Gaylord. It was easy to reserve a table via yelp/open table in advance for my business meeting. We were sat right away and the waiter was very professional and prompt. We ordered the calamari for an appetizer and it was good and the pickled veggies made it even better. 2 of us ordered the fish of the day and the other 2 ordered a healthy salad. I was placed in a room that had a view of the Harbor and did not dine in the main eating area. At first, I was a little taken back as I was eating alone and seated alone. However, my area had a young man that served me, his name was Brice. He instantly welcomed me and made me feel welcome. He was knowledgeable about the dishes served and made a wine recommendation. Soon enough others joined my area and I was no longer alone. Brice easily served all the tables and seemed to make easy work of it. His description of the food as he explained the menu and specials matched the meal I ordered to a tee. Now, on to the food. As noted by Brice, the potatoes were served with a crispy skin and the Ribeye arrived with perfect grill marks and was cooked to perfection and the recommended wine was a nice compliment. I hade dessert, it too was excellent. I recommend this place and it is much bigger then the impression one gets from the outside. If you go, ask for Brice as the waiter. He will take care of you. Made a reservation for two for hubby's birthday. We were greeted by the host and taken to our table right away. I requested a table by the window facing the harbor which is what we got. This made me very happy because I was told this area may not be available. When we sat down we were greeted right away by our waiter who was very pleasant. He mentioned specials of the day and took our drink orders. When he returned with our drinks, we ordered our meals. Our meals came within 20 minutes and were very good! Hubby ordered the NY strip with mash and onion rings. I ordered the Lobster and Shrimp Manicotti. For dessert, we ordered the Tiramisu which was brought to our table with a lit candle and surrounded by cotton candy...very cute and delicious! Our over all experience was perfect! I honestly can not say one bad thing about Bond 45. Hubby and I both left with our belly's full and smiles on our faces. So the five stars I'm giving them are well deserved! Bravo Bond 45! I had the single best restaurant experience of my entire life here last night. My girlfriend and I were celebrating our 1 year anniversary and the entire evening could not have been better. To start, the view around the waterfront overlooking the ferris wheel at night is beautiful, especially if you get a nice sunset like we did! We chose to sit indoor, but they had nice outside tables as well. Now about the food... if you have never tried their steaks you're in for a treat. We got the 24oz Bone In Tomahawk and I swear this thing could feed a family of 4! Did I mention it's also 28 day dry aged?!? I can honestly say I have never had a steak like that before and can't wait to come back to try some of their other dry aged cuts. You also can't go wrong with any of the appetizers, we tried the wings, mozzarella bites, and fried calamari and they were all amazing! But what really made this night so special was the staff. I want to give a giant thank you to the manager John, for taking such great care of us this evening. He really went above and beyond to make sure we had a special night, from giving us the Salt Bae special table side cutting of the steak, to giving us complimentary tickets for the Ferris wheel for afterwards, you really helped make our evening one of kind. I also want to say thank you to all of the other staff who made our evening great! First time back since COVID started. They made some great changes since my last visit. From the moment you walk in, you are greated as a guest but treated as family. Every encounter with the staff is 5 stars. There are different areas of the restaurant which provide you with multiple views of the Harbor and dining experience. We were celebrating our anniversary and the GM John, went well above to ensure it was very memorable. His suggestions for appetizers and the selection of a beautiful red wine was perfect. Zac our waiter was extremely knowledgeable and took great care of us. I have enjoyed the Tomahawk ribeye here before, but this time the flavor was was through the roof. When I asked what they are doing different, it made sense. They changed to an aged beef and season only with sea salt and pepper. The flavor of the meat shines through with intensity. If your a ribeye fan, dont miss out.... They have some outside patio space for warmer days and can accommodate large groups. We ended the meal with some delicious sweet desserts and Limoncello. It's so hard to rate this place. I loved the decor and the fantastic menu for both wine and food. I quickly decided on the chicken parm and I was excited for my meal to arrive. When it did, it looked like chicken parm pizza. Seriously, see the photos. It was different than anything I've had before and I wasn't overly impressed. There wasn't enough sauce and the the taste just wasn't there. I ended up sharing some steak with another guest since I wasn't eating my meal and it was quite good. Again, I turn my gastronomical review knife and fork to Bond45 at the National Harbor in Maryland across the Wilson Bridge from Alexandria. The short version of this review is that Bond45 stands with the best service anywhere, making it a rare and entertaining experience. The slightly longer version is as follows. I took my daughter to Bond45 for her 14th birthday dinner. From start to end, we were treated wonderfully. The food was terrific--excellent and cooked perfectly, reasonable portions, and plated well. I also noted that the wait-staff addressed my daughter directly, "Happy birthday," "How is everything, miss." That's the sort of attentiveness that separates the good staff from the great staff. John, the manager at the restaurant, is the definition of the welcoming host, concerned about the details of your experience, ensuring that your needs are met throughout your Bond45 journey. He went out of his way to make the evening sing, and I noticed that he was paying equal attention to others in the restaurant as well. John and his staff take great pride in what they do, that attitude takes the place to a higher level. I rarely write 5-star reviews. And yet, Bond45 consistently rises to that level. Nestled amidst a sea of mediocre and uninspired National Harbor restaurants with appallingly dismal service and food catering to a transient audience, Bond45 is a diamond, sparkling enough to catch your eye and with enough genuine quality to know it is a real gem. Only area for improvement is in getting someone's attention to initially greet you and seat you . Waited 10 minutes trying to flag someone that appeared to care. My husband attended a cocktail reception in the bar area. Passed hors d'oeuvres were tomato bruschetta, meat balls, and crab balls, which were all tasty. Opposite the bar was a long banquette to allow guests to sit while enjoying their cocktails. At the end of the bar, and to the right, was a dining room which afforded views of the kitchen. My husband and I went to Bond 45 for the first time after finding it on Yelp. The 3.5 star rating not withstanding, it looked like a nice place and was close to our hotel. We were very pleased to find out, THIS PLACE IS DEFINITELY 5 STAR! We have been to alot of restaurants all over the world and have a pretty jaded pallet. Bond 45 exceeded our expectations at every turn. We were greeted by Al Green (no, not the singer, the Mater'd) with a friendly smile, a lovely complement and taken to our table. The first person to attend to us was Manager John Hana. He offered us Perseco to start our meal, suggested appetizers and then continued to attend to us in a helpful, friendly and not at all intrusive way. We started with meatballs and fried calamari. Both excellent but I must note that the meatballs were the best damn meatballs I've ever had, and I'm half Italian! My husband had steak, I had crab cakes and both were cooked to perfection, very tasty and delicious. The portions were large in my opinion and I had to leave half my dinner on the plate. John had stopped by several times to check on us and in doing so, we started a discussion on how long he worked at Bond 45 which led to further discussion on where he had come from. He was originally from Egypt where he learned the restaurant trade from his family. You could see the pride in his craft and how seriously he took his job. He also was quick to say how wonderful and welcoming the US had been to him and his family and how much he appreciated and valued that. I jumped up and hugged him. Dessert was outstanding. Again, at John's suggestion we had a sample of cheese cake and chocolate cake to finish off our meal accompanied by a lovely Limoncello liqueur which made everything go down very smoothly. We took a picture with John and Al on our way out and said we would be back. We were having dinner with a friend the next night who was in town for the same convention. We decided we enjoyed Bond 45 so much, we should take our friend there. This dinner was even more wonderful than the night before as now we were personally greeted by John and Al and John had glasses of Perseco in our hands before we even got to the table. John was so accommodating, helpful and friendly, I felt more like we were in his house than his restaurant. I almost expected his wife and children to show up! John provided some complementary treats to us and we had the same appetizers as the night before because those meatballs were just too good not too eat again. The calamari was great two nights in a row and this time, John added another appetizer, burrata and prosciutto which were tender and tasty. My husband and our friend both ordered steaks; my husband got the Tomahawk at John's suggestion. It was gigantic and delicious. I ordered lobster and crab manicotti that was so delicately prepared, with a light white wine sauce, and each tender bite-ful was wonderful. As we finished our meals, John appeared with fresh chocolate chip cookies, warm and gooey served right off the baking sheet (as he had done the night before) and I marveled at the small touches that are an established part of this restaurant, making it truly a special place. Our meal was topped off by the Limoncello, as we told John that we would be sure to visit again when we were next in town. I also said that we would definitely go to the NY location (as it's closer to where we live) and he said we should let him know in advance so he "could make sure we had a wonderful experience". I commented that he would need to be there to make sure that happened and he said "who knows, ask for me and maybe I'll be able to make the trip!" Overall this was a fabulous restaurant 2 nights in a row. Truly, we cannot say enough about John's hospitality, service, warm and friendly professionalism.
