We were really disappointed with our experience at BondST Noho. To start, our lounge reservation for 4 was seated at a small circle table clearly meant for a max of 2-3 people. The backless chairs didn't help, and it was obvious from the beginning that this wasn't going to be a comfortable meal. Unfortunately, the service did little to improve things. Our waitress came across as very curt and disengaged from the moment we arrived, making us feel like an inconvenience instead of guests. The food was the highlight of the night. Both the crispy shrimp & the big eye tuna tart were excellent, great flavors.The espresso martini tasted solid, and their old fashioned was decent. We were halfway through our entrees when one person still hadn't received their sushi roll. When we asked our waitress about it, she told us "she didn't think the table had room for another sushi roll, so she was waiting until someone finished" ....what? Not sure if the restaurant was aware as once the newly engaged couple and others joined, they had to bring many chairs to fit the whole group. They were a bit rude and obnoxious, but we tried to understand to the best of our ability as it was a joyous occasion for them. We started with the tuna tart and the scallops with cauliflower appetizers. The tuna tart was one of the best things I've eaten all year - worth the hype. The mixed green ginger salad was also incredible!! I got the spicy tuna roll and it was so fresh and amazing quality. Ended with the mochi ice cream (comes with 6 total, 2 of each of the 3 flavors). It's light, luxurious, and delicate. I love that every layer was so thin but you can still taste every ingredient. The white truffle oil adds the perfect depth, the tart is light and crisp, and the tuna is so fresh and soft. It's definitely going down as one of my favorite bites of 2026. The Szechuan Yellowtail Sashimi had a clean, citrusy flavor more than a kick I was expecting from the Szechuan. It's not spicy at all but more zesty and umami. The A5 Wagyu Crispy Rice was one of their Specials menu items. It was savory fragrant but was lacking a "wow" factor. I would've preferred the A5 wagyu to be cooked or torched. Nothing else we got stood out or would order again. The Spicy Crispy Shrimp was not spicy or crispy. There was a good amount of sesame oil which I enjoyed but not enough to save it. We had a pretty big group, so we shared the tuna tarts, tuna crispy rice, crispy shrimp, broiled sea bass, pork belly, skirt steak, spicy tuna roll, scallop roll, toro roll, and the bread pudding. Best dish here is definitely the tuna tarts. Our waiter recommended it, and I'm so glad we ordered it! It's not something that I would usually order, but I could eat like 5 of these myself. Other standouts were the tuna crispy rice, spicy tuna roll, and the miso sea bass. This sea bass tastes like the one at nobu but 100x better. The texture of the fish is indescribable. This place really surprised me! I had somewhat heard of BondSt but my friend was in town and we wanted to check out the hype. WOW it was definitley worth! Although when I checked the day before there were reservations they said it was only for the bar. I called the restaurant and the staff was very accommodating and gave us a seat in the actual restaurant portion. Apparently on OpenTable, the bar is the lounge area on the main floor where standard seating is the restaurant section on the second floor. Vibes were super sexy with dim lit lighting, great date night spot but fun to come with friends who are ready to splurge because we wanted to try a lot. The spicy Tina crispy rice was absolutely delicious, and the chutorro nigiri were the standouts for me. In terms of appetizers, the tuna tart was delicious but slightly overhyped. I liked the yellowtail sashimi more. The only thing I thought was truly overrated was the short rib gyoza. But honestly you can't really get much wrong here I'd imagine. First let me say that we were so looking forward to eating here after hearing great things from friends, so perhaps we experienced the restaurant on an "off" night. First we were told to get a drink at the bar as our table was being set up. It was 5:45 and the restaurant was still quite empty. As soon as were served at the bar, our table was ready and we had to carry full martini glasses to the elevator to the second floor seating area, which was empty. No one offered to carry the drinks for us. The food was delicious, but we hardly had the time to appreciate it. Every five mins a waiter would come by and ask if we were done to remove the plates and glasses. My plate was literally full, I had one bite, and he asked if I was done. My martini was removed with one third still left in the glass. I ordered another and clearly the 2nd fl bartender did not know how to make a French martini, I had to send it back. It's truly a shame that a restaurant that charges premium prices could not allow a table for two to sit for 90 minutes and enjoy a great meal. We were in and out with apps, entrees and two rounds of drinks in under an hour. As cool as the vibe was, it was not an enjoyable or comfortable experience. We will not go back. read more

With a nice atmosphere and diverse menu, BondST is better than the cash grabby Nobu. However, how much better? This is *easily* a $125pp restaurant and it has quite a bit of room for improvement. Service was very good, pacing was solid, tap water service was phenomenal. The two raw apps, the red snapper carpaccio and Szechuan yellowtail sashimi, were excellent. The $52 grilled skirt steak was not good--an overly-seasoned chintzy cut that wasn't cooked properly. $36 crispy shrimp were also prepared lazily (dominated by breading that was not crispy) and were disappointing. Chicken buns were tasty and featured surprisingly large portions. Tuna crispy rice pretty good, but $34 is a ton of money!! Pressed eel maki was meh, sun-dried tomato & avo maki was okay but if you're going to try this I think there's quite a bit more that can be accomplished here. I support this as a Nobu alternative but there's not way this is in the top tier of Japanese/fusion restaurants in the city. read more

I have to say that this place had amazing Japanese Uni. This is one of the best ones I've had and it was just perfect and creamy. I'm very flavorful. I did start with the mushroom soup and let me tell you it did not disappoint. It was a big portion but very delicious. We also got the crispy rice with spicy salmon, which was very flavorful and definitely a order you must get. We also got a roll that was not our favorite and I don't think I would order it again. It just sounded really good. We ended with dessert because they had a seasonal pumpkin cake and it was not disappointed at all. Our waitress recommended it and she was very good. I recommend recommending dishes. I loved that the cake was not overly sweet. It was just perfect and it was nice and moist as well. Next time I'm in New York. I really wanted to love BONDST. My boyfriend and I came here last night to celebrate our one-year anniversary -- we'd heard great things and were excited for a special evening. Sadly, the experience didn't live up to the hype or the price tag. We spent over $400 for what we hoped would be a top-tier sushi experience, but the food was underwhelming at best. Out of the eight dishes we ordered, only one -- the crispy rice with spicy tuna -- stood out. The rest felt basic and uninspired, especially for an upscale sushi spot in NYC. Presentation-wise, it looked like the kitchen just threw the rolls over a leaf and sent them out. We expected much more artistry and finesse. Timing was also an issue. The appetizers came out quickly, but then we waited about 30 minutes for the rest of our food, which really disrupted the flow of the meal. For a restaurant of this caliber, that kind of wait was surprising. That said, a few positives: the bartender was incredible -- friendly, attentive, and made fantastic drinks. He was honestly the highlight of the night. The complimentary champagne was a lovely touch, and the dessert was delicious. We appreciate the gestures, but for a fine dining experience at this price point, we left feeling disappointed -- especially on a night that meant so much to us. We were hoping for an unforgettable dinner, but unfortunately, it just didn't deliver. I'm writing this review not to tear down the restaurant, but in the hopes that the team takes this feedback seriously. We ordered a ton of nigiri and while the fish seemed of good quality we didn't enjoy it properly as they put a ton of wasabi under the fish.
