I've always had high expectations of this place based on reviews from friends who are regulars so I finally went to check it out for myself. I wasnt extremely hungry at the time of my visit so I didn't order a full meal. We started off with bang bang shrimp which is one of their most popular items and it was fantastic. Great flavor and decent portion size. Also got the edamame which was tasty but nothing special. Next I ordered a bowl of lobster bisque which is usually my favorite soup, but I wasn't crazy about theirs. The soup itself had a good flavor but the lobster meat is where it was lacking. It's Better when served shredded and mixed in with the soup, but this was 3 large pieces floating on top, which could not be cut easily and weren't very tender or easy to chew. I had to eat each piece all in one bite and it was what I would call "fish overload". Our server was professional but not exactly warm and friendly. At one point I witnessed another server blowing his breath all over a dessert that was about to be served to another table as some sort of a prank. "Ew" is all I can say about that. Because the environment was really warm and enjoyable and the bang bang shrimp was delicious I would probably go back again for that (especially on Wednesday when it's only $5 instead of $9) but I won't be a regular guest. We ordered a family dinner for mother's day today. We were given a 45 minute timeframe for pickup and were told to wait in our cars and the food would be brought out to us. After an hour I went to see where my food was and was told it will be brought out to us shortly. Waited another half hour in the car and my wife got a call saying that our food is ready and to come get it. Went to where the pickup location was and was told again they will call me when it's ready. No organization at all. Waited there for my food. There were bags lined up in the pickup location and people started to get upset. The guy who appeared to be a manager was being an asshole to people who were asking for their food. I personally waited for 20 minutes after we were called to pick up our food. We got home and the entries were cold, our salad was not cold at all. The food had obviously sat for a while. Not a good experience at all. I totally get that it's Mother's Day and we are in the middle of a pandemic, but have some organization. Don't be an asshole to the people who are bringing you business. I used to love Bonefish. This experience left a pretty bad taste in our mouths and we will not be back for a while. read more

Great food, great energy....perfect place for a nice night out. Make sure you make a reservation...as this place is a scene at night. After waiting 45 minutes for a table, we enter the dining room and see no less than 10 empty tables!! The food BETTER make up for this slap in the face! ... well, the entree was good, hot tasty. Veggies on the side weren't hot and just about raw. We ordered the bang bang shrimp appetizer, tasty but served with chop sticks? Is this a Sushi restaurant or seafood?? All in all, disappointing. If you want Key West prices and a mediocre experience this may be the place for you. read more

First time trying the place last night and was pretty disappointed with our service. Waited over 10min for our server to arrive. She was nice for the most part, but she definitely needed to train a bit more. Well at first glance I just thought she was just a newbie or something, but I saw her with her other tables more than ours. Didn't get our drinks till our entree were arriving. So refills on our drinks were out the door. She also forgot to bring my steak? Which I don't know how someone forgets that since it is 20$ or so. I was waiting to tell her whenever she did happen to come by, but nope she came back after everyone else food was finished. Like aren't you suppose to check up after the food is delivered like maybe a couple minutes or so? Will try again, but hopefully with a different server. Then when I inquired about when we would be seated and that we saw them seat three other couples that came in right after us, they said just 10 more minutes and we are next. Bonefish knows what it's doing and does it well! It is by far my favorite chain restaurant. We have found ourselves dining out more often during the holiday season and have continuously been disappointing with our meals, this was not the case at Bonefish on Christmas Eve. There was a wait, but we were able to get a table outside while we were waiting and order calamari and drinks. I am not a calamari fan, but I did try the pepper garnish dipped in the sauce and it was fantastic. Inside, Skye was our server and she was excellent. She was helpful at suggesting menu items and very friendly. I am always impressed with Bonefish's ability to serve high quality food at such affordable prices. Branching out from my usual Diablo Shrimp Fettuccine or Grilled Mahi I ordered the sirloin and crab cake. I'm fairly certain I was brought the filet and crab cake, but hey I'm not complaining :) The steak was tender and cooked a perfect medium (hey Outback, take notes from your brother). The crab cake was chunky bites of crab bound together with very little filler and complimented with a spicy remoulade. Everyone loved their food, as always. Service was excellent. And this is why Bonefish is continually one of our favorite places to dine. read more

Good location. Good staff. I came here when visiting my mom in Florida. We were seated immediately in a very nice dining area. We shared some clams for appetizers which were really good. I ordered the crab legs and they were some of the best I've ever had. Everything was good and overall was a pleasant night. Was a member of dine rewards and had a credit of 20. Went to the Bonefish on McMullin Booth in Clearwater for the hooked on Tuesday. Ordered the special and then after dinner said we couldn't use the 20 credit on that. Paid the bill and when got home got an email saying we have 1 meal towards the three to get the next reward. Good food, reasonable prices, above average service. We got the Bang Bang Shrimp as an app, it was quite good. I had the Florida Cobb Salad as my entree and it was delicious, light yet filling. Beleive it or not, for a chain it was really good. My wife and I were given a gift card to this place. I had the Ahi tuna steak and my wife had the surf and turf meal. Friday night my husband and I stopped at Bonefish Grill off Enterprise/McMullen in Clearwater for an early dinner (5:00) From the moment we walked in the rest we were greeted by what felt an iceberg indeed an iceberg would had delivered a warmer greeting. Even trying to get a table was a convoluted issue. The man with the bow tie didn't even crack a smile or make eye contact though he made a slight attempt to get a different table for us. It was like he was doing us a favor to get us a table. We decided then to leave and went to Grillsmith instead. Wow! What a difference! From the moment we walked into Grillsmith we were greeted with a beautiful, warm smile and though we had to wait about 30 minutes for our table (it was busy) but it was well worth it and we didn't mind. We were happily taken to our table (yes, she seemed very happy to do her job) and we had our wonderful waiter Travis who couldn't do more for us. Both restaurants have excellent food. But attitude takes you farther than aptitude. Bonefish, go have a dining experience at Grillsmith. You may learn a thing or two on how to treat a customer. read more

Went here for the first time, and had the BEST service I've ever experienced. Tiffany L. was our server and she was very knowledgable about the menu, and helped us navigate through all of the choices. Making excellent recommendations that were amazing - the bang bang shrimp is a must. I had the Lily chicken with the scalloped potatoes which was the best comfort food I had had in a very long time. Our server was attentive, but didn't hover over us. She knew about everything on the menu from the organic caffinated tea, to the kind of honey they use, and it really made our dining experience. One of my fav restaurants. If you can catch them on a Wednesday night, the $5 Bang Bang Shrimp is killer. I will say that they have downsized the portion in recent times. Absolutely atrocious. This is a restaurant chain that was once an up-and-coming place to be and it's turned into an outback steakhouse with a flair. What happened to the ceviche? It used to be great now it is meh. Served in an ice bowl-translation watery and half the size it used to be. Not as flavorful and now it has lettuce in it. Lettuce does not belong in ceviche, cilantro does and it used to be there but mine didn't have any today. This used to be one of my favorite things on the menu now I doubt I'll ever order it again. We have not eaten at this location for several months. The service is still great but the food has really gone down in quality. The house salad which I used to love was not fresh and the water chestnuts were mushy. The greens were brown on the tips. The grouper was NOT grouper and had a muddy after taste. This tough reviewer votes Bonefish Grill as the best chain restaurant going right now, hands down. And amazingly, this consistency goes from Ft. Lauderdale to Orlando to the two locations in Clearwater/Largo. Since a good friend of mine lives near West Bay, that has been my place to celebrate mutual birthdays. But he had an out of town visitor, so last week I went here for the first time. Everything from the food, to the ambience, to the service was every bit as first rate as it has been at every other one. You can't go wrong with either of my two favorite entrees: Pecan Parmesan Crusted Rainbow Trout with Artichoke hearts, fresh basil + lemon butter (which I had this time) and the Fontina Pork Chop. Simply exquisite in taste and substantial in portions. The trout is flattened so that it practically fills the entire plate. My go to sides are the French Style Green Beans (slender and al dente) and Potatoes Au Gratin (cheesy and the real deal). Because I was alone, I chose to sit at the bar. And that is where I had the good fortune of encountering Aleesha, who I promised to write about. Not only is she thoroughly delightful and attractive, but she is a virtual whiz at her job, jumping around to make sure that everyone is attended to, yet still making each person feel special. When a restaurant has an employee like that, they should do everything possible to keep them there, for it makes a huge difference in the customer's experience. Kudos to you Aleesha! And I assure you I don't have a crush on her because I am more than 30 years her senior, so my statements are objectively true and can be counted on. Go and ENJOY! read more

Solid meal, good value. Our server, Cory, was good/attentive. I've been here before (years ago) but this time, the food quality just felt "OK" - appetizer (spicy shrimp - like Outback Blooming Onion, but fish) was good. Main course - spicy snapper (?) with side of shrimp was just fair. Shrimp were dry/over-cooked and snapper was OK - but just average. Desserts were good - they accidentally brought the coconut pie by accident (in addition to brownie) so we got a freebie. Given the location (Tampa Bay area) and only average food, I'd probably go to a different fish restaurant next time I am back in town. read more

Went for anniversary dinner, was not disappointed..he had super lightly seared tuna, I had snapper, both were outstanding. However, the star of the dinner was the Maryland crab cakes! Love this place! Great appetizers and drinks. The wait staff are all about service. Bang Bang Shrimp is one of my favorites however try the Saucy Shrimp with feta and always always get the bread to dip. Not always on the menu but they will "always" accommodate you and make it. Great appetizer to share. For me, with the bread it is a meal. Follow that with a nice glass of wine or your cocktail of choice as they do not spare the alcohol when making a drink. We had dinner at the Clearwater bonefish last night. Food was OK but service was terrible. Food and drinks took forever and our waitress abandoned us in the middle of the meal. We ran out of drinks and water about halfway through the meal, and she never did return. We had to flag down another waiter and he got our check and took our payment. I don't know if she had a medical problem or just walked off the job. But their should have been someone to take over her station. The restaurant wasn't even crowded. read more
