Well this is the fourth time we've tried bonefish Grill at this location. This time it was for Sunday brunch around 1 PM. The place was not very crowded and we were celebrating a birthday. Our server was very nice but clueless... Forgot to bring silverware to the table. The kitchen was extremely slow. My wife ordered a shrimp and egg disk that was over cooked. Had to send it back reluctantly and it took forever to send her a replacement. We ordered two desserts and these took forever... With a three-year-old squirming in her seat it was a painful wait. When the desert came no one had bothered to clear off the table so it was a another cluster. Unbelievably, this mediocre location of a usually decent chain has gone downhill. Traditionally I've found service sluggish and carry out inattentive to detail but I guess I'm fed up with having to pull out every dish and check for accuracy. In my most recent order, they included bread but it was as hard as a rock and inedible. My salmon was very over cooked and my spinach side - at extra charge - was missing. And my calamari somehow morphed into shrimp without any notice. I double checked the ticket stapled to the bag and the order was correct as selected. It's pretty elementary to double check that the contents match the order but this location fails at even that. Just can't recommend. read more

The bartender Terrance made the oct lemon drop martini, Ava was the hostess and was so friendly and checked to make sure we were doing ok. This is a semi expensive place to eat and you don't expect to feel like you are on a roller coaster while using the bathroom!! This was the men's and women's bathrooms. A little maintenance here would go a long way. We used to be a big fan of this restaurant. We keep coming back now and then to see if it has improved, sadly it has not. The server Alisha was VERY attentive. It's too bad she wasn't cooking our meal and giving out portions. And BTW Bonefish, filet mignon should not have connective tissue! The bang-bang shrimp were terribly over cooked. The best part of the meal were the potstickers, jasmine rice and the potatoes au gratin. UPDATE: I received a phone call from Dan Adkins, Manager Partner, at this location. He apologized for our bad experience and compensated us for our meal. He further explained that he read my reviews and corrected the maintenance issues and replaced the broken timer on the fryer for the shrimp. I felt he was sincere in his apology and appreciated his attentiveness. However, I have failed in convincing my boyfriend to return to the restaurant so far. I'll keep you posted!! The dishes almost always come out picture-perfect and the service I always friendly and up to par! I'm updating my review, as I no longer believe it was food poisoning. Unfortunately I had another bad episode of getting sick and was admitted to the hospital. It turns out it was my gallbladder and I had to have surgery to remove it. Apparently my first episode was right after eating at Bonefish - which made me think it was the food. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food here was, at this particular Bonefish Grill. My experiences with their food at other locations have been so so. I had the grilled salmon with scalloped potatoes and sauteed spinach. My husband had the 18oz ribeye. Both entrees were DELICIOUS!!!! My salmon was cooked well and seasoned perfectly. Not too salty, not bland at all. I had a bite of the ribeye and *droolz* so juicy and tasty! My husband finished the whole darn thing. Our waiter Nam was also very attentive and helpful. This was my first visit to any Bonefish Grill. I'll admit, I expected a chain restaurant experience sorta like Red Lobster. What I received was 5 star service, delicious and freshly made food, and a very clean and organized establishment in which to sit and eat. I washed my hands after being seated and No Kidding, the restroom gets 5 stars also! Just really nice looking and it had an aroma of nutmeg and cinnamon if I'm not mistaken. We ordered the crabcakes (2) for our appetizer. Another reason for 5 stars! Here I am in Gainesville VA eating the absolute best crabcakes I have ever had. I couldn't believe it. I was mentally transported to some white sandy island with a breeze blowing back my hair!.. ummm ok. Back to Bonefish.. I ordered the Lightly breaded grilled cod w/lump crab meat, rice and some super delicious broccoli. It was light and flavorful. The portion looked just perfect however, I could not find the room for three more bites. Which is also sad because I really really wanted a slice of the Key Lime Pie for dessert. Perhaps next time. There is a gluten-free menu, but it lacks prices and descriptions, so it's hard to know what you're ordering. There was a spice mixture on most of the food that contains garlic powder. My mother and I were planning on going to the Bonefish Grill in Gainesville, VA to celebrate Mother's Day. My mother, who is battling cancer, was feeing extremely lightheaded and asked if we could get the food to go instead. I called Bonefish to place a To Go Order and was told that they are not doing To Go Orders tonight due to being "too busy". I ended up calling the Bonefish Grill in Centreville who was more than happy to place a To Go Order for us. A group of friends went to Bonefish in Gainesville to celebrate a birthday on Saturday, 1/23/21. When we showed up, we were told the wait time was between 30-40 minutes. We put our names on the list and were told we would receive a text message when our table was ready. We were also told that we could not wait inside due to "COVID". So instead of returning to our vehicle we decided to walk across the parking lot to Glory Days and have a cocktail while we waited for our table. After waiting for 40 minutes, I asked if we had received any texts telling us to come back in. We had only received 3 texts saying to wait in your car and they would text when a table was available. So, we decided to walk back to Bonefish and ask what our status was. The host told us we should have received a notification and that our table was ready. We never received that text. We have a long history with Bonefish and had initially visited the first one operating in Florida where we saw an ad that said a new location was opening in Centerville, Va. We frequented that location often and were excited to hear that the Gainesville location was opening. We had gotten to know the operating manager "Bonnie" well and were disappointed that he had left the franchise. Since he left the Gainesville location just has went downhill in my opinion and has not delivered to my expectation. While our server, "Molly", did an adequate job and the food was ok, we were all very surprised when the on-duty manager, "Savannah", visited our table, and told us that she knew we had visited Glory Days previously to drink and wanted to know if we had a designated driver for our group (which we did). We let her know our designated driver actually had a soda at Glory Days. The implication was that we were all too drunk to drive. I am 50 years old. We were not being loud nor obnoxious. We had just sat down and received our drinks when she asked us all. It appears that the host had informed his manager about our risky trip to Glory Days and Savannah decided to act on it in a very insulting way. Her tone was extremely condescending. I have never been spoken to in a restaurant like that ever. It appeared to several of us that we as a group of 6 were being watched a bit to closely and finally called Savannah over to our table to voice our concerns. She apologized and even asked if she could comp our meals which we declined. All in all, it was a very uncomfortable experience. As many people know the Gainesville restaurant scene is extremely competitive. I will never return to that Gainesville location. There are better restaurants locally that treat their customers with respect as well as deliver a much better value for your dollar. read more

That tells me it must be the management that is failing to provide leadership and direction to it's employees. I've never had a problem with the food or the back of house getting their food out. It always seems like the front of house has issues. This place doesn't cater to the customer at all for some reason.
