Okay, looking back at my last review I promised to let you know how the Mac & Cheese and doughnuts tasted like. I lied. I couldn't resist another order of Dim-Sum shrimp, and I got much more shrimp this time. I also made it in time for happy hour, which ended at 6:30. I had a Flying Dog pale ale. Tonight was lobster night, and I ordered one lobster taco, which was way too salty. I was so hungry when I got the shrimp and tacos, I forgot to take photos. Before coming to Bonefish, I scoured through the Yelp reviews and wasn't able to get a consensus on what it's good and bad at. There are reviews that spoke of small portion size, the bang bang shrimp, the sea bass, and up and down service. I had to find out what it's about. In summary, it's not super intimate, nor is it an olive garden. The portion size highly depends on what you order, and the service depends on who you get. Prices are mid-tier to high, no matter whether you get a salad, seafood, burger, or a deluxe side. We came here to celebrate a friend's birthday and we saw a good 70% of the restaurant filled on a Monday night, which is always a good sign. Upon getting the menus, we realized we came on the wrong night. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, they have specials on several of their well-known dishes, such as the lobster tail and bang bang shrimp. It was a let-down when we saw how much we'd have to pay to try them at regular prices, we decided to get anything but the Tuesday/Wednesday specials, since we can always come back to try them then. We got the sea bass, the kobe beef burger, fish tacos, edamame hummus and Maryland crab cake. The portion sizes for the burger and tacos were plentiful, but the sea bass portion was disappointing. While they specify that a small order is a 6 oz and a large order is 9 oz, the sides that came with the sea bass were little, and inexcusable for a dish that is upwards of $25+. Fortunately we were stuffed by their above-average bread + pesto sauce, as well as the hummus and crab cake. Our edamame hummus was good, but the crab cake was warm on the outside and cold on the inside. Did the crab cake sit for too long? Or were they reheated? Either way, I'd steer clear of the crab cake. The bright side is that the sea bass itself was fairly decent, as well as the fish tacos. I'd probably get the fish tacos again (without sour cream, because it doesn't belong in a good fish taco, IMO), and hope we get our awesome waitress again. I did see two other waiters dropping cups, utensils, forgetting orders though, so the Yelp reviews about the so-so service made sense. In the end, the prices are a bit high for my taste. Now knowing a little about their portion size and taste, I'd recommend coming back on Tuesday/Wednesday for their specials, steer clear of the crab cake, and try the reasonably priced + portion appropriate fish tacos and edamame hummus. read more

We went to Bonefish Grill mid-afternoon on a Saturday for lunch. We had just sat through granddaughter's softball double-header and I wanted a sit-down restaurant and a glass of wine. We started with the crab/shrimp/scallop dip. It was rather addictive and came with little crunchy chips. Soon after it arrived our waitress brought us a loaf of warm bread and flavored olive oil. The crab dip spooned onto the bread made both even better. That was probably the best part of the meal. Husband and GD ordered soft chicken tacos, one with fries and one with salad. I had the crab chowder and a salad. This is personal taste, but I don't really care for sweet food, especially if it's part of the entrée and not the dessert. I know corn chowder can be sweet so the fact that the crab corn chowder was a little bit wasn't a surprise. But the dressing for the salad was even a little sweet, plus the salad was mostly greens and not much else. Husband, who's not fussy, even commented on the salad. Maybe it's genetics because GD wasn't thrilled with her tacos, especially the "pineapple" which was really the mango, and too sweet for her taste. She pretty much just picked the chicken out of the taco and gave the rest to her granddad. Her fries were pretty good though and she enjoyed them. Service was adequate, but I noticed the waiter at the table behind us was much more interactive with his customers, "have you been here before", etc. When hungry in the area in the future I'd head to Dogfish Head or Il Porto. I've even had better meals at Joe's Crab Shack, know some won't agree with Joe's over Bonefish, but that's the way I honestly feel. read more

Came here after church on mothers day with reservations for 2 with my wife. This place was packed. We decided to eat at the bar instead of having to wait to be seated. The bartenders were super busy because of the bottomless mimosas during brunch. That being said we started with the bang bang shrimp appetizers which were really awesome. It was essentially batter fried shrimp with big Mac special sauce over lettuce. I had ordered the eggs benedict with bottomless mimosas. They unfortunately were out of the peach, but the passion fruit mimosas were delicious. Sipping on the mimosas helped pass the time as we waited for our food. My eggs benedict was good. It was a traditional egg benedict with ham, perfectly cooked egg, English muffin, with a nice hollandaise sauce. My wife got the surf and turf eggs benedict which left much to be desired. Instead of ham, their was lobster and steak, but it was dry and not well seasoned. I ordered to go an Atlantic salmon with pan Asian sauce for my mom who unfortunately was working on mothers day. Came here with a party of 10 to celebrate my mom and my aunts birthday!! underpromise over deliver! They told me at 6:30 on a saturday there was no way my family would be able to sit together! We get there at 6:30 surprise they made sure there was room for us! The bang bang shrimp and mussel appetizers were awesome! I got to try everything cause my family went all out. I got some pecan crusted tilapeia, diablo pasta, chilean seabass, filet mignon and red snapper! All the fish dishes were awesome. The filet is REALLY reasonable priced. The husband wanted to try it so we ordered one and shared. My fish of the day (albacore tuna) came with couscous which I enjoyed and mango salsa. The salsa was a savior since the fish was so dry. The ahi appetizer was delicious, fresh and definitely a high grade. The sauces that they paired it with were perfect. My salad was really nice. I especially liked the mango and pumpkin seeds in it. It was not overdressed with the dressing; sometimes we get salads that are drowning in dressing, but Bonefish does it just right. A nice light touch. My wife got the fish tacos and she really enjoyed them. The portions were just the right size. We'll try their desserts next time because we were too full this time. The service was great. So for Valentine's Day, I caught a lucky break and got out of work way earlier than I was expected. Unluckily, we hadn't made any reservations thinking I was going to be stuck all day, so we decided to try our luck at the Bonefish Grill in the middle of the afternoon. Surprisingly, it was packed, but we only had to wait 10 min for a table. As my fiance pointed out, in addition to being super helpful and nice, the staff was comprised of unusually good looking people of all ages. We were shown to our table and then our waiter quickly brought over drinks and menus. He was very good, attentive and very thorough in his descriptions. We tried the following things. Bang Bang Shrimp 3/5: This was a massive portion size leading to an impressive display, which normally, I am all about. However, this was just too overly creamy for me. Two bites and I'd had enough. It tastes like shrimp tempura smothered by spicy mayo. Ok for a taste, but I wouldn't get it again. Stuffed shrimp and Filet Mignon 3/5: The steak was cooked really well with a great marsala sauce, but I really did not enjoy the shrimp. The crab filling was dry and the creamy spinach it was accompanied by was again, too creamy. Grilled chilean sea bass with lemon, tomato garlic sauce 5/5: This was phenomenal. The fish was grilled perfectly with just the right amount of char. The sauce was light but, SO flavorful. The mashed potatoes were excellent as well. Dinner was delicious! My daughter got fish and chips. My husband got the tuna. I had a filet mignon. Everything was cooked perfectly and at the correct temperature. The only thing I would have liked better, and it's not worth knocking it down a star, is if the Caesar salad was at a higher standard as the rest of dinner. What I mean is that all the leaves were very light green. No dark romaine leaves. I even asked for a darker salad and they didn't have it. Yikes. Overall the food was only 2 stars worthy. Based on the numerous Yelp reviews for their famous bang bang shrimp and their brownie and key lime pie, I'd give this restaurant 2 stars. I ordered their blackened fish tacos and overall it was very bland. The fries on the side also had no seasoning but wasn't too bad. My friend ordered the Tuesday special which came w a 3 course meal- salad, main entree and dessert. He ordered their Caesar salad, cod entree with mashed potatoes and broccoli and brownie dessert. Ordered via DoorDash. Cod imperial was supposed to be stuffed with shrimp and crab, but the filling was entirely cream cheese/cheese with the tiniest fragments of shrimp/crab I've ever seen. The "seasonal" vegetable side was just blanched frozen broccoli. The rainbow trout was ok, except that there were still scales on the skin. Both the fish fillets were dry. The bread loaf is fresh and delicious. Calamari is good if you like the tentacles more than the round pieces. Oscar Mahi Mahi special was a average piece of fish dripping in lemon butter and topped with a few really small pieces of crabmeat. I came here on a weekday after being recommended by a friend. The restaurant wasn't too busy and the interior was very nice. A full bar, butcher paper tablecloths and candles on the tables greeted me on my way in. We ordered the Bang Bang Shrimp for appetizer -- I heard it was a go-to and it did not disappoint. Freshly fried shrimp tossed in a spicy, creamy sauce and laid over a bed of lettuce. Yum! For entrees I ordered the Sirloin Steak and Crab Cake dinner -- both of them were terrific as well. The steak didn't have anything special on top of it to mask the taste (just the way I like it) and the crab cake was tender and flaky. The entree came with potatoes au gratin and spaghetti squash. Overall, the taste was great! Our server was very talkative and we talked about everything from Man vs. Wild to camping in the area. So sad to write this review. Ordered the Filet and Lobster Tail - did NOT get filet. Asked for a medium rare filet, got a well done sirloin - they charged for a filet and gave me a sirloin! Also ordered the asparagus, didn't come out with the order so I went inside to get it (I had ordered curbside pick up), the young man brings me out a container with 3 asparagus spears in it, three, seriously three? I paid $3.50 extra for THREE asparagus spears. So to add it up I paid $9.50 extra for a sirloin that was supposed to be a filet and three spears of asparagus. This place used to be great but it has really gone downhill. I came in for fathers day and so many things went wrong with the meal. I ordered a scotch on the rocks and the glass came overflowing with ice chips and there was stuff floating in it. Our table had no silverware and our food ended up coming before we got our silverware. We asked for water before our food arrived more than once but didn't end up getting it until after we had finished our meals! I noticed the crushed ice in the water was the same ice that was in my scotch (I did not receive proper cocktail ice). The scotch issue was mentioned at the start of the meal and was never addressed by the waiter or offered to be corrected. At the end of the meal there were no apologies made or adjustments made on the bill. This would have been the first time to dine at any Bonefish Grill. Was quite excited as the family loves seafood. In fact, we were there to celebrate Grandpa's 81 birthday. Made reservation for 7PM and was kept waiting outside (no place to sit inside) for over 30 min and still told FOUR (4) parties were ahead of us. Host/hosted acted indignant as if we could not understand they were too busy to talk to us. Not a hint of apology when we asked about our reservation, Finally as elderly grandparents could not stand out in cold any longer, we went to nearby "Not Your Average Joe's" at suggestion of other (potential) customers who also could not wait any longer. No doubt place is popular because food is good, but what good does it do us if we can't sit and eat? I'm giving Bonefish Grill three stars because I know they can do so much better. In fact, the last time I visited another location, they were arguably worthy of five stars. However, this visit was somewhat underwhelming. I went for a birthday dinner with a group of 12. The server was really friendly and talkative but the service was so slow. It took forever for just our drinks to come out, never mind the food. The Bang Bang Shrimp and Calamari appetizers were excellent as usual. I decided to try the crabcakes as I had never had them. They were really small and unfortunately weren't the best quality. It actually tasted like a frozen crabcake from Costco. Maybe I just ordered the wrong dish, but overall the experience wasn't up to standard with what I know they can do. read more

This Bonefish is our favorite spot. We've tried other places and even other Bonefish Grills, but this particular Bonefish is a real standout. The food and drinks are consistently delicious and the staff are fantastic. I really like knowing that the delicious cocktail I had the week before will be just good when I order it the next week. Patrons actually get to know the staff , many of whom have been there for years. The manager always checks in to make sure all is well with our meal and genuinely cares. It turns out he is a Buckeye which makes him all the more special ! Can't say enough about this place. It's a sure bet , we love it !!!!!!! read more

The service was great, I called ahead and made a reservations for 8pm, got there at 730 and was able to be seated within 10 minutes! The server was great, explained the daily specials and went over the menu with us since it was our first time visiting. It has a upscale fancy feel to the restaurant but the prices say the complete opposite. We ordered the bang bang shrimp as an appetizer and it was only $5.00!! I ordered the Filet Mignon and lobster tail (chef special for that day) and I was surprised it was only $17!! I would have expected it to be more the the price range of the $30+. My steak was cooked to perfection and the lobster was amazing! We had a great time and didn't feel robbed when the bill came. The only thing I feel they lacked was a better desert menu. They only had 4-5 choices and nothing that sounded as a must have. Besides that I would definitely recommend Bone Fish Grill to friends and family and already have! read more
