This is a review for curbside carryout - I ordered food when I was about 20 minutes away around 7pm on a Saturday evening, and by the time I got there I had barely pulled into a pickup spot when they brought my meal right out to me. I ordered a salmon entree. Everything was warm and cooked well (the broccoli was a little mooshy, but it's not like anyone judges a restaurant on how well they steam broccoli, amirite?). Would be higher if it didn't smell like an open sewer. Have been there 3 times this month to use the bonus cards you get at Christmas. Ate at the bar the last two times because the waiter was so bad. We happened to be in Kentlands when we decided on happy hour. There were maybe a half dozen places offering it. At 445 Friday afternoon Bonefish was the most crowded, so we followed the herd. The area devoted to HH was large, and included comfortable booths. Five food items were offered, but the regular menu allowed you to order salads or vegetable sides inexpensively. We chose mussels, wagyu beef sliders, and crispy cod sliders. We washed them down with gin and tonics. The beef sliders had great flavor, helped by their signature sauce, and a nice potato bun. The cod portions were large, fresh tasting, with a light crunchy fried batter coating. They also benefitted from the same sauce and bun. My wife enjoyed her mussels ( I am allergic to them), but she pointed out that two of them hadn't opened. This has happened to her time and again. It is a pet peeve of mine. Is it too much to ask the kitchen to remove unopened bivalves? Minus one star for what was otherwise, a great start to the weekend. read more

Bonefish is the only restaurant from which I always get the same thing. My go-to entree of salmon, jasmine rice, and green beans is that good that I would eat it every single time. It sounds simple, but they make it incredible. They offer so many sauce variations that I can change things up sometimes and every single one is good. (I am partial to the mango salsa lately.) My go-to app of Bang Bang Shrimp is still the best thing on the menu in my opinion, and everyone I have gotten to join the Bonefish Bandwagon agrees with me. The great service and classy ambience only add to the amazing experience of dining here. Servers wear crisp white uniforms and are always friendly. I always leave happy. Portions are medium-sized. I stopped by here for happy hour. Bar was packed- was able to snag a booth at the bar. Happy hour is until 6:30pm daily. We ordered the bang bang shrimp (off happy hour) and the shrimp toast. Both were amazing. I wasn't expecting the shrimp toast to look like that but it was better than expected. The raspberry vodka drink was really good as well and not too sweet. Got together with friends at Bonefish Alexandria restaurant couple months ago & thanks to a great dining experience there, my family & I decided to treat our mom for her birthday here. We came on a Saturday night and although the service was a bit slow at times with a minor hiccup of mixing my entree with my dad's, our main server & her colleagues bringing food to our table were attentive and friendly throughout. More than anything, I love the value you get for the price you pay - not easy to find a good seafood restaurant in the dc metro area with both the freshness & quality that is found at Bonefish grill. I really like bonefish grill. And I find the wait staff very helpful and kind. However, when I was there this week I noticed many of the servers do not have proper masks and/or are not wearing their masks properly. For example, some staff wore scarves as masks and many masks were worn below the nose. I don't understand why management won't enforce proper use of face masks...the correct face mask to wear and how to wear them. These people are handling our food. Unfortunately, I won't be going back because of this. And when I'm asked what restaurants provide the safest environment I won't be able to recommend this particular Bone Fish Grill restaurant. read more

I've been to all the bloomin brand restaurants, but this was my first time at Bonefish. We were going out for a birthday dinner and had a fabulous time. Our server was very attentive, he came back many times to check up on us and even hooked up us with a complimentary desert. Terrible food. The crab cakes besides being so tiny are extremely spicy. The Remoulade sauce that came with it is so spicy it was inedible (and I like heat). The coleslaw has an Asian flare (Miso & sesame oil added to it)...just aweful & a strange combination with crab cakes. I was expecting more Maryland Style Cuisine. The garlic mashed potatoes had no taste of garlic in it and they also tasted like boxed potatoes. Nice atmosphere, but this alone doesn't get a restaurant high marks by itself. Bonefish Grill is just a step above Friday's. Blek. Also beware, they have a two-tier system for the same item. For example, if you order a salad with your entree, it's $4.50. If you order it by itself it's $8.50. We find this very strange. They do this with the soup as well, so if you want to get soup, an appetizer & salad, a la carte to make it a meal, you're going to be paying big prices. What has happened with hospitality and service? This is a restaurant that we have been going to for years and it's increasingly getting disappointing. The wait staff used to be sharp and personable. This evening we noticed that was not so. The waiter took our order and served three out of the four in our party. We waited for the fourth order that never came, and finally was told that he didn't think that the diner had placed an order. This was wrong on his part. The three of us proceeded to eat our dinner, expecting the fourth diner to receive his dinner shortly. After one hour of the waiter, ignoring our table, the diner asked to see the manager. The excuse was pathetic, stating that the restaurant had been slammed with Uber orders that needed to go out the door meanwhile it only takes a matter of five minutes to sauté scallops and shrimp, which is what the diner ordered and yet never received. The manager returned with a to go bag and said she was sorry, but the order was in the bag. We expected to eat at the table and not take the order home. The reason was evident once the diner opened up the 'to-go' dinner - it was pathetic to say the least! One shrimp didn't have any meat in it and there were only two scallops. Yes, the dinner was comped but that's not the point. Having dinner with your friends, while your friends are served and eating while you are being ignored and then given poor excuses is the point here. Tastes like spicy mayo that you get on some sushi dishes. For my entree I got fish and chips. I was excited for this but when it came out I was highly disappointed. Wow. There were so many things that went wrong that we actually had to write them all down. My sorority sister from FL was in town visiting for the weekend and she wanted to introduce me to Bonefish Grill. We didn't have time to make Brunch, so we decided on dinner and made reservations online. When we arrived, we got seated promptly, but the host never asked me if my toddler needed a booster seat or a high chair. I saw some by the restrooms, so I grabbed and secured a seat. After looking over the menu, we sat them on a pile on the side of the table (the universal signal for "We're ready to Order"). We looked around and stated that it was not even busy. Eight minutes had already passed, and in restaurant time, that feels like twenty. Not one server acknowledged us.We were ready to walk out (and we should have). Drinks: My toddler received a glass of warm/room temperature apple juice. We had to ask another server to switch out the glass for a kiddie cup. Waiting: Our bread took too long to come arrive. Also, when servers were walking by, they kept accidentally kicking the leg of my chair (no acknowledgement). I moved to another seat. The Check: When I asked him to split the check, he came back and told us that he split the appetizer as well (I did not eat the appetizer). Before picking up the check, he asked if I needed change (rude) and then said, "Oh. You're paying with a card". Food: The worst Rib-Eye I've ever had. It was over-cooked and difficult to chew. When you order for curbside pickup they ask for you to describe your car so they can bring the food out. I did. We drove up and parked in one of the two parking spaces for curbside delivery and waited. The staff stared at the car repeatedly and never came out. We had to go in. Our order was just sitting there in a bag. When I asked why they didn't bring the order out, they said that they didn't have the description of the car. First, that's a lie. Second, even if it had been true or there had been some kind of miscommunication, they should have come out and asked us, since we were sitting in the car parked in one of the two pickup spots for 10-15 minutes. Really weak customer service. The food was just OK. The mahi mahi was way overcooked. The shrimp were tastier. The Asian sauce was way too sweet. Salad was just OK. Mashed potatoes pretty good. We went in and caught the happy hour deal. $5 cocktails, $2.50 for a glass of house wine and delicious appetizers. Everything you are going to eat is bound to be filled with flavor. The bread is delicious. I shared the ceviche' with my friend and it was bursting with flavor. The burgers were ordered by the boys and devoured, and the fish was superb. I had the Surf & Turf Benedict, which is basically Eggs Benedict with Steak & Lobster instead of the Canadian Bacon.
