Honestly, I don't have much expectations for chains. My last experience with BJ's really set the tone for me with the larger chains in the area. I decided to give BoomerJack's a try a few days after my experience at BJ's, and let me tell you, the difference was night and day. From the moment you walk in you're greeted with a ton of big TVs with all the sports you could possibly want (if you're into that kind of thing). You get seated quickly, and an amazingly wonderful server comes to you immediately and has you taken care of. And this alone deserves a 5/5 and we haven't even gotten to the food yet! My friend and I got a sampler platter with some Boneless wings, Mozzarella sticks, and Southwest Eggrolls. All were amazing. The boneless wings came packed with a ton of flavor without being overwhelming, the mozzarella sticks were gooey on the inside and haven't solidified like a lot of other places, and the Southwest Eggrolls were particularly the star. Absolutely fantastic. We also split a queso dip, and that was fantastic as well. As for the main course, my friend got one of the burgers, which was particularly good, but not as good as what I got. I got the Monte Cristo, and let me tell you it was absolutely amazing. Although, the ends could be a little much with how much batter they put on, the center pieces were absolutely chef's kiss. We arrived for a late lunch and we're overall very pleased. Our waitress, Sima, provided superior service, going above and beyond to make sure we well taken care of. They were out of jack Daniels honey, so we ordered a regular jack and coke which was adequate. We started off with lemon pepper wings. They have a wet and dry version, both good but we recommend the wet. For the entree we ordered the Texas melt off the lunch special menu. Omg this sandwich was so delicious! For dessert we tried the banana pudding. We are really picky when it comes to banana pudding, so were skeptical when our waitress recommended it, but gave it a try anyway. My friend had the blue cheese burger and I had the pepper burger, and we split half and half. I enjoyed the blue cheeseburger more and found the smoked bacon and onion crisps to be a real treat. This was a take out order not dine in and my first time trying Boomer Jack's. We ordered the smash burger, angry rooster, potato skins, lava cake, chicken wrap, and banana pudding. The potato skins were good! My smash burger was good however the 14 French fries that accompanied my burger were disappointing. Could they have given 28 French fries and filled the container? Is 14 French fries the standard serving as it was barely anything. The angry rooster was good/ok... this was accompanied with 15 French fries. Equally a sad amount. The burger toppings sent were lackluster to say the least. Condiments were not sent at all nothing included I mean at least send ketchup for our 29 French fries. The lava cake was just ok.... nothing fantastic. The banana pudding was much smaller than expected for the price and the picture they have advertised so I would skip that as well. They have 2 bar height tables with fire pits in the middle, a lot of built in bench tables, low and bar height, and then table and chairs. A lot of TVs! Food was good! We had the .79 wing special - Thai chili, Buffalo, dry Cajun (they offer wet Cajun as well). All the flavors were great! Some of the wings were a little sad looking - and one set was over cooked by a long shot (this is why I wanted to give a 4.5 star review) Also had the Nashville tenders with sweet potato fries (they toss them in brown sugar cinnamon - so good, but it was not on the menu that way so I was taken off guard when I dipped a fry in ranch and was surprised by the taste, I wasn't even paying attention to the seasoning on them) let's talk about the PICKLES - OMG DELICIOUS! They are thicker cut - so juicy - amazing flavor! The slaw was great - excellent balance of apple cider vinegar and pepper, and was crunchy not soggy! My husband got the brisket burger, flavor was on point! It was so juicy, it was dripping onto the plate as he ate it. He had onion rings - batter was good - could have used a little more salt. They are thick cut onion rings also - just a warning (my husband loved them, I prefer thin cut). Overall, we had a great time. We will for sure be back in the future, definitely a fun place to hang and drink! I would say I was a little disappointed at the lack of manager table touches... we were there for almost 2 hours and We only saw a manager outside once - he checked on the table behind us right after we were seated, and a few others around us. Considering the area, our experience was shocking to say the least. Walked in, place was not busy, asked to seat at the bar, so far everything was going well. Sat at the bar, 3-4 different people could clearly notice us but ZERO acknowledgment. Being in customer service myself, I normally give people a pass...considering they have a lot going on behind a bar. About 6-10 minutes of sitting there, excuse the actual timeline because I was not really clocking them, an older White Couple sat at the bar. They had not even sat on their chairs and a young white bartender was already placing coasters in front of them. Mind you, I placed my own coaster in front of my husband and I about 5 minutes or so earlier. My husband noticed it too and said let's get out of here. The young lady looked at my husband and continued greeting the older couple. Having served in the military for 20 yrs, I completely understand freedom! I'm Hispanic and my husband is African American, when I got out of my chair I realized, every customer at the bar and the crew behind the bar were all white. The former main bartender group led by Lexi apparently left recently for a sports bar up at the Frisco center and the new crew sucks. Sat at the bar. Took 30 min to get a single hamburger *(inquired 2x as to where our order was) and had to waive down the bar staff each time we needed a refill. They were more intent on visiting with each other than being attentive to customers. And not very friendly at all. We will miss Lexi and the crew. I wish I had done an update much sooner after my review in July 2021 because so much has changed since then. We definitely wanted to give the place another try because we liked the restaurant itself and just figured it would be great if we had a different waitress. I did go back after a few weeks, but this time with a girlfriend and I couldn't believe it, but we had the same waitress as before. She must have had some additional training though because she was definitely more attentive this time and we didn't have any issues like the first time. A few weeks later, my husband and I then went again and had great service, from someone different, and really enjoyed the food and service and have been going there on a regular basis ever since. The food has consistently been good and the service has definitely been so much better overall since that first time. I am so glad we gave Boomjack's another chance because it is one of our fav places now. read more

Ordered through Uber eats. I received the wrong order. I received a VERY GREASY, ham/Swiss/Beacon Sandwich that only my Dog could eat. I also received these fried sad chicken strips...i dont eat deep fried food. I would have eaten the fries at least because I'm so hungry but, there were only 4-5 in each container. We have been to the BoomerJack's in Fairview and were extremely excited to have one open up close to us in Plano. We have been to the Plano location at least 5-10 times hoping it would improve. The site is ideal, perfect patio and typical bar food. The thing is the service is awful and has not improved since the restaurant opened. We were at BoomerJack's for the games on 10/3 and left vowing not to return. Our table was never bused during our stay (3:00-6:00) and the service took forever. Managers weren't checking on tables and it felt like the waitresses were left to fend for themselves. It's unfortunate because this place could be a great spot.
