    Hot latte and iced latte

Been going to this place throughout my college career. Yummy food and great lattes and lemonades! The people there are really nice and will help you decide your drink. Very cozy cafe to study or just hang out! I will say since this is a coffee house and the coffee is fresh, its really strong. If you don't like the strong coffee taste decaf is the way.

    Ube latte with espresso.
    Amanda K.

Good coffee! I like how they have a unique menu, I love getting fun coffee flavors. I did an ube latte, added espresso. The espresso overtook the ube so I really couldn't taste it. Next time I would make the drink sweet/add extra ube! Quick and friendly service, clean, nice relaxing atmosphere.

The all new Borjo's reopened two weeks ago under new management. They even put the original sign back up. They remain locally owned. The place has the exact feel of before with similar coffee, sandwich and desert offerings. Nice counter service today for an express on the go which was tasty.

I used to come here when I was a student at ODU back from 2008-2011. It has since closed down and reopened with new ownership. It's a new vibe, and not totally the same as the old Borjo, but still a place I would love to come sit & chill at regularly. My girlfriend and I went to ODU for some homecoming festivities, so we started our day off here. The service was great, but incredibly slow. We ordered a latte & two breakfast sandwiches, and it took over 20 min, but all were delicious. Definitely come and visit it- you won't be disappointed.

This cute little cafe is located right on ODU's campus and had the perfect ambiance. They play lo-fi instrumental music perfect for a study date or if you just need to relax. The service was speedy quick and the cashier was super attentive to any questions I had. I ended up opting for the maple brown sugar latte which is one of their drink specials right now. The latte was smooth, rich and just the perfect amount of sweetness. An overall balanced cup of joe that I would definitely repurchase. They offer a 10% student discount which was a plus for me :) Also offered are pastries and breakfast dishes which I will definitely have to come back to try. Their prices compared to your typical Starbucks are significantly lower which is another plus. Definitely will be back!

    Borjos: Coffee brewed for brains
    Cristina Cici B.

I love a good signboard outside a business with a witty punch line or drawing to invite you in. Borjo's 'brain' board had me sold; time to "install java"... okay okay, nerdy jokes over, promise. The coffeehouse was thriving; great for business and a good sign this spot is popular with the locals, nice. The atmosphere was calm and collected; counters were kept clean and staff moved around consistently to stay on top of any unused coffee paraphernalia from leavers to ensure there were clean spots for newcomers. Good job guys! Borjos is welcoming to all. You had all the stereotypical customers and then some, all in perfect harmony under one roof; the stressed out students tapping furiously at their MacBooks, the regulars, the hipsters, the time killers, the coffee instagrammers, the 'let's have a quick meeting over coffee' business peeps, and then of course the newcomers. Enter Cici; yours truly. The menu is clearly displayed so that if you're a newcomer, you can see what you want before you get to the counter and freeze or get stage fright and order the wrong thing. To the left of the coffee bar is an alcohol bar where they can serve cocktails and well, alcohol. Duh. Then there's the fridge and "bake space" where you can stare into each items soul and wait for it to call your name so you know which one to choose... ahem... it had yummy baked goods on display. I had my heart set on one of the muffins - until I saw a fly sitting on the last croissant. Ew. It happens - it's not like it lived in there and paid rent, it obviously didn't belong there, but it put me off quite quickly. Nothing sweet for me today from here. Another day, for sure. I had a green tea latte (aka matcha latte) and ordered the husband a black coffee. I was served by a lovely young lady, very sweet and chipper; to be honest, all the staff behind the counter were smiling, had great attitudes and made effort with every customer. I had some pretty good banter with the guy, I salute you bro - stay smiling :) The restroom (there's individual ones for the lassies and for the lads, couldn't check the bro room for obvious reasons lol) is spotless; regularly checked by staff and stocked up so you don't, well, get caught with your pants down! All in all, I'd give this place 4 stars going on 5, but that's only because of the trapped fly in the 'bakespace' (so sorry to mark down for it) but I know I will come back in the future to edit my review after I try out a couple of events here and a cocktail or two.

Chocolate and white chocolate milk shake.
    Cynthia R.

Had about 45 minutes to kill before a movie so I stopped in for a quick pick me up. My date ordered a chocolate milk shake with white chocolate. I ordered a hot red-eye--coffee espresso concoction. The coffee was smooth and the espresso definitely mild. The shake was good and the whipped cream was a nice compliment but not over bearing. If you have never visited consider doing so if for no other reason than the art work. It's eclectic and inspiring. Diverse and simple. Poets on my left, laptops on my right. A good stop before the movie.

    Mocha Java Milkshake
    Leelynn B.

I haven't been here in over a year, and the last time I was here was for a job interview that I didn't get (sad I know, but that's life). I didn't really get to try much of the menu back then and I haven't had the opportunity to come back since. First, I'm glad I came after 5pm this time because I was able to find parking right in front of the shop (luckily because it got full by the time I left) so there's the /little/ window of opportunity for you to find front row parking. Second, their Mocha Java milkshake is SO THICK and yet SO GOOD that you really shouldn't drink it on a full stomach. Don't do that or you'll feel full really fast. It's so good and I'll definitely have to try their other milkshakes and iced drinks on the menu. Third, the baristas are so sweet and helpful and fun to talk with. They know how to do their jobs, and are so professional and make you feel like you want to come back. I appreciate that and that's one of the main factors in me frequenting a business. So major kudos for that. The space is big enough that you can accommodate a group meeting like there was today, and yet still cozy enough that you don't feel like you're being drowned out in the din of noise. I like that they are open until 7pm, and not that far from my work, so the next time I want to get some work done in between commuting home, I'll definitely make my way down there for some work and drinks. Go check it out if you haven't already! And they are partners with Taste I believe? And I love Taste so that's another bonus.

    Strawberry- Banana smoothie
    Maria G.

I was craving for smoothie today and yelp found me this place. I've had their coffees and pasties before and is was very good. So I wasn't a bit concern that they will fail me in this area. However, I didn't want the fake fruits and extra pounds of sugar. The kind gentlemen behind the counter explained what was in it and walked me through it. I got the strawberry-banana smoothie which was their popular one. You can mix fruits to your liking and add extras to it like kale or ice cream. But if you add ice cream then It would be a shake and not smoothie ??hmmm... Just mentioning what the kind gentlemen said. So anyways my smoothie had the real fruits (strawberries and banana), 100% Apple juice and that's it! The juice gave it enough sweetness you don't have to add sugars or syrups! Yes, this is what I was going for! very very good smoothie. I would never go to that "other" place again for smoothies.

    Iced black and white mocha
    Abegail A.

*****4.5 stars***** Borjo served the best iced mocha I've had in a long time. Offered in regular, white, or black & white, opted for the black & white. It was a perfect mix of espresso, chocolate, and white chocolate. It was refreshing and just the pick me up that I needed to get me through the rest of the morning. I also had the breakfast burrito and added bacon to it. The burrito was quite good, but there was a little more black beans and red pepper than I was expecting. Although I added bacon, I couldn't taste that it was there until after several bites. I enjoyed that the tomato-basil tortilla was toasted. Customer service was warm and friendly, with the cashier answering all my menu questions without hesitation. My iced mocha was ready in minutes with my breakfast burrito following shortly after. There's a good amount of sitting inside, with a mix of high tops, regular tables, and communal tables. Plenty of metered parking, but could get difficult during peak hours as there are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby.

The monarch way with a side thai salad. Delicious!
    Jordan B.

Borjo is an awesome local coffeehouse located right at the heart of my alma mater, ODU. Admittedly, when I was a student here I only came here a couple of times. The first time I just came for a spoken word poetry night and didn't eat anything. The second time was a quick pop in and out but the coffee and pastry (cranberry muffin) I got was pretty good. At the end of this past summer I was at a two week job training hosted at ODU, and they gave us meal cards to use at select places on campus. Borjo was the best option compared to all chain fast food, so I consistently came here for lunch for two weeks straight. I must say that trying so much off of their menu got me hooked on this place. So far I haven't gotten a single thing from here that I haven't liked. I must recommend "The Monarch Way", the Thai chicken salad, and any of their fresh squeezed juices. The Texas wrap and chicken salad wrap were also delicious. The service here is always polite and with a smile. Furthermore, it's safe to say that Borjo is your best bet when it comes to dining options on ODU's campus.

    Tsugumi S.

The smoothie and salad came out quickly. I was very satisfied with the taste of my food and the fast service. The playlist they put on today was really nice. I accomplished a lot of my work in my setting. I'll definitely come back next week with my usual salad and drink! Edit: this is my third time coming here and I'm changing to five stars. The lady complimented my robot necklace.

The bartender didn't ask me what my other choice of meat was and when inquired he said "I just put you in for two orders of sausage". I thought was odd because I would have preferred the two selections. I did ask if one order of meat could be substituted for fruit, but he said that was more a side with the meal. Another thing that was odd is that I asked for the eggs to be scrambled hard, they were not. I cannot eat soft scrambled eggs, something about the texture just doesn't work for me. Although I will eat an over medium egg, either way that wasn't what I asked for. I will say that the bartender was friendly and that the patron who was sitting next to me was also friendly. I will probably give them another shot but maybe for dinner instead.

I'm not sure what prompted our host to choose LeGrand Kitchen, but every single one of us was glad they did. I honestly can't recall a single complaint from the entire evening. Despite our large group, the atmosphere never felt cramped. Instead, it was cozy and intimate, perfect for a romantic dinner, a family gathering, or even a business meal. The menu offered a great mix of options, including both their regular menu and a seasonal specials menu, and several of us ordered from each. We shared a variety of appetizers, all of which were outstanding: pork belly with candied jalapeños, a salad with the most delicious pickled onions, a winter salad with goat cheese, pecans, and roasted squash, and pimento cheese. Every bite was a hit. Entrees ranged from regular menu favorites to specials, including the LeGrand Burger (which we later discovered was named one of Yelp's Top 100 Burgers in America), short ribs, tender and flavorful pork chops from the specials menu, and the ribeye. Every guest at the table thoroughly enjoyed their meal, so much so that we all took leftovers home. The server and kitchen were also more than willing to accommodate individual taste preferences by exchanging sides, which was appreciated by a few in our party. Dessert was just as impressive. When he tasted that wonderful concoction he changed his mind and shared. The Cornbread Pudding is absolutely amazing. The restaurant changes their menu often. The menu items are unique dishes that offer options you won't find elsewhere. There is absolutely nothing I found wrong with LeGrand Kitchen. It was perfection.

It was a little chilly tonight, but I imagine the outdoor seating would be perfect on a warmer evening. We didn't have a reservation, but luckily we were seated within seconds. The space itself is on the smaller side, but it's thoughtfully designed and perfect for a cozy date night. Every employee who passed by greeted us, which made the atmosphere feel especially welcoming. We started with the octopus, served with potato foam, pickled pear, and chorizo. For entrées, he ordered the duck and I had the pork bolognese. Both dishes were full of flavor and cooked perfectly. We also ordered drinks. I do wish they had come out a bit earlier so we could enjoy them sooner, but the selection was impressive. We chose the bartender's choice, which was a really fun experience. The waitress asks a few questions, and based on your answers the bartender creates a drink they think you'll love. We were too full for dessert, though they did offer four different options. Overall, we were really happy we tried this restaurant and will definitely be back.

The octopus was probably my favorite--really tender and full of flavor. I had the salmon for my main and it was cooked perfectly and everything on the plate worked well together. Service was great without being over the top. Overall just a really solid dinner spot in Norfolk, would definitely go back

The wagyu beef was prepared to a perfect t medium as ordered. The restaurant has a modern, industrial style: concrete floors and benches along the walls. The restaurant was fairly busy when we there with only one server working. My first thought with a party of 5 this will be a disaster. I was wrong. Diamond was a great server who seemed to keep all of her tables satisfied. We were extremely pleased with her friendly, efficient, and smooth service.

The waitress and bar tender were super nice and helpful with menu recommendations. I order their fried shrimp appetizer which came with 8 large shrimp and a side of tater tots. It was tasty but lacked seasoning. When I sat down, I noticed a lot of salt on the table....i understood why haha as I found myself sprinkling salt throughout out. They were crunchy and tender on the inside. Getting to this location was super easy and they own their own parking lot which is free for patrons. If you're not able to find parking, they have plenty of paid street parking. I also want to add that they do offer discounts but to service members who are in uniform. Service members rarely ever wear their uniforms just to dine out unless they are on official orders or are working full time. I find that a bit unfortunate because the value veterans and military service members bring should be honored while they are and are not in uniform so I hope that the management changes that policy someday. They offer no other forms of discounts as I asked about teachers and emergency personnel too just to give people something additional when seeking this place out. It's still a good lunch spot tho.
