My daughter took her vehicle in for a diagnostic check for a gas leak. They called her later and told her that her oil change was completed. (never asked for an oil change) Had to leave the vehicle overnight for the check. She picked it up the next day and listed in the repair was a part for an electric fuel pump for 1394.99. I called around and the part is about one quarter that amount. I had the wait four days to talk to a manager. I called Borst about the charge and was told the Jeep dealership listed the part for 243.00, but he said they discontinued it in 2018. The Jeep is a 2019. He explained that they got the part somewhere else and that was the cost. They have worked on my other vehicles in the past, but I will not be taking them to Borst any more. read more

I went in with a coupon for a $29 oil change. This included a car wash. What's not to love? Well, the bait and switch. Luckily I had the moxie to leave when the pre-work estimate came out to about $119. I was shocked and insulted. Took my vehicle over to my fave Brake Masters and got an oil change, tire rotation and under hood inspection for $40. Don't go to Borst expecting the coupon price to be real. read more

We got a coupon from AAA when we had a battery change for a free oil change. It was a bit of a drive for us but was well worth it. The waiting area was clean and comfortable and the staff was extremely friendly. They had free refreshments and snacks which was a pleasant surprise compared to where we usually take our car for repairs and oil change service. They provided a full inspection report and did not try to upswell us in any way. I wish we lived a little closer and would bring our care here all of the time. Heck, we may make the drive any way! I owned my own successful business for 35 years. I sold it in 2014. After retiring in 2014 I decided I needed to do something to keep me busy so I went to work part time at a automotive store. I delivered some parts to Borst Automotive. I put the delivery in the spot designated. The manager and another employee were standing there. The manager proceeded to tell me about where the parts needed to be put. He then said " Get the f... out of here. Your an idiot. That's why you're just a delivery driver". Comments like that from a business should never be tolerated. This man needs to find a job where he does not deal with the public. I'm 73 years old and have never been so disrespected before. Robbery. I was charged $800 total (before a $35 AAA discount... yay) to replace a starter on a Ford F150. $356 for a REMANUFACTURED starter. It was VERY clear that it was the starter, yet I was charged $140 for diagnostics. $46 for "shop supplies"? $322 in labor to replace a starter. If ANYONE in that shops mother, child, whoever, paid $800 to get a starter changed, they would be LIVID! I was stuck with no extra vehicle and the need to get back to work less than twelve hours later, I had no choice but to pay but I will never be back and I will spread the word. I recently had a problem with my 2019 Chevrolet traverse and took the SUV to the Chevrolet dealership where I had purchased it new. I did not have an appointment but the service writer took my name and problem description to the problem into his workspace. When he came back to the SUVr he told me that it would be three to four days before the appropriate service advisor would be able to examine the car and another three to four days before work could be completed. He also informed me that I'll have to leave the vehicle with him for the duration of that Time. I then took the SUV to Borst and described the problem to the service advisor. He told me the cost for diagnosis and told me that after the diagnosis he would get back to me, which he did within 2 hours. He told me that the parts required were available and that he could fix the problem that afternoon, and he told me the total cost which was substantially less then it would have cost me for 8 days of rental car use end the cost of repair at the Chevrolet dealership. Borst did a great job and gave me a 3-year warranty for the job. They also provided a great shuttle service that took me to my residence and returned me to the shop. I will be taking my vehicle to Borst directly in the future. Their service overall was exceptional! read more

Recently 2023, I visited this company Borst, at first I was very impressed with the customer service they provided me. Then after a few months time for and oil chance and which point, yes the oil chance was done for sure no question about that, but they "JUST" forgotten to add oil back into the truck and returned it to me not saying anything, and after a few 100 miles driving on it of course i didint know entil my son said some light is on in the dash "AKA the low oil light" so i contact them again about this and they said they will take full responsiale for thier action and damaged they've caused, then my truck start making noises ticking sound, from the engine bay loud contacted borst again and to my suprise, they said their not going to help me anymore. Total disconnect.....Had an appointment for an oil change and tire rotation. The Service Writer understood exactly what I wanted and wrote up my order. After an hour my vehicle was ready and I was handed my keys. No feedback, other than that the service report was sent to my computer. I had to go home to find out that I needed a couple of filters replaced and that the Mechanic elected not to rotate my tires because he felt the better tires were in the correct place based on tire tread wear/his opinion. I knew my tire tread wear and made a decision in advance to get the tires rotated so the most tread was in the front - front wheel drive. Total disconnect. They never told me what was and wasn't done - had to go home and read the report on line. Had to go to another mechanic the same day to get the filters replaced. Total disconnect. Do not recommend them and will never return. read more

Went in for an oil change and check on a electrical issue with the door panel. Left my Nissan at schedules time and was notified within a few my vehicle was ready for pickup. They cleaned the connection causing my door alarm off while driving. They went above and beyond. Will definitely go back for other services. DON'T EVER COME HERE! If I could give this place zero stars I would. They are a total rip off! Very unforthcoming. They overcharge like CRAZY! They claim to be a AAA associated auto shop and I was recommended to go here after my car died and needed to be towed somewhere. (I was informed by a AAA representative after I filed a complaint that they are NOT a AAA approved shop). I'm not from the area so I don't have a trusted auto shop to go to and I've basically learned to never go to a "recommended body shop" unless it's a friend or trusted source. I allowed them to take my car here and what a mistake. They claimed they gave a discount for AAA members but they make up for that measly 10% discount (off labor fee) by overcharging. I knew I needed to replace my alternator and before they even started I asked for an estimate and they said "I can't give you an estimate until we run tests." I said fine. They call me back and tell me I need 3 things taken care of for a grand total of $1100 before tax. Are you kidding me? I asked how much for the alternator they said $553. My friend got it done at firestone for $450 total including parts and labor. I already knew they were overcharging but I was stuck at work and could not be dealing with this back and forth all day. I needed my car back ASAP and I said fine just do the alternator. They call me and say it's done and charge me $987. I said excuse me? Just for the alternator? They made a mistake and say okay your real total is $700. I said excuse me?? You told me $553 before I agreed. They said it's tax. And I said $150 worth of taxes?? I asked for a break down. So the girl finally gives me a breakdown and they were going to charge me $90 for the diagnostic test, and the rest for parts, labor, EPA Fee, and $30 tax. I said no one ever told me I was being charged $90 for a diagnostic test even tho I asked for an estimate before anything even started. I was told the fee for the alternator was $553 which I assumed was the total to take care of that service. I know it should cost between $400-500 to get it done so I agreed initially. In the end after taxes and fees and still charging $20 for the digital diagnostic test which AAA already originally did, they ended up charging me $630 just to replace my alternator and that was AFTER the "discount". It honestly is so unfortunate places like this take advantage of people like me who are clearly in need of a service and uninformed about cars. I was in a desperate situation and I literally paid for it. I'm going to take my car somewhere else to get a second opinion and make sure they didn't mess with anything because I honestly wouldn't put it passed them at this point. Got my car back and still sounded weird when I started the engine. Go figure. The other 2 things they highly recommended were to change my spark plugs (not even with new wires) for $250 and a fuel induction system service for another $300ish. Before tax and fees I'm sure. I don't doubt that I could need these services but at those prices, you're seriously joking. So if you're looking for a place to take care of your car, you've been warned. DO. NOT. COME. HERE. Might as well go to the dealer if you want a rip off this badly. At least you'll get genuine dealer parts. read more

Yet, they knew I was from the east coast and about to drive back across the country. Still, Brenden gave his all, including an oil change, tire rotation, and everything else, assuring me my tires were good for the long drive, and he washed my car! After the car care was complete, Russ, who guided me kindly through the car-care process, went above and beyond to help me figure out how to use a flash drive successfully in my complex, older model car! I received a free oil change from Borst Automotive and almost didn't use it because it wasn't super close to my home. I am glad I did because in addition to professionally servicing my car, they offered some of the best customer care I've seen in a long time. Homemade cookies and fresh popcorn were a nice touch, but more importantly the way I was greeted and kept informed about my vehicle.
