Do not go there since you will get bad service. First, not a fan in writing something negative about anyone or any place, however, I want to help others who should seek an alternative hotel since this one was truly terrible and over priced on their rooms and restaurant. First, my husband and I went there for breakfast and it turned into a complete nightmare. When you get seated, you then have 4-5 servers running around getting multiple things at your table, but there was no need since all of the them botched our order and we ordered the most simplest of meals. Plus, there was no one in the restaurant to cause such chaos from the servers, and it make us feel so frantic in the restaurant. One server is plenty for us. We thought it was odd that 5 people could not deliver our order and actually gave us food that we did not order in the first place. And, we had to wait 35 minutes for 2 boiled eggs which seemed crazy since it only takes about 5 minutes to cook eggs. Pancakes are burnt to a crisp! Could not eat them at all. Then, if you speak up about the many infractions, all of the servers start whispering to all of the other servers, and they do it right in front of you. So, basically it feels like elementary school but with grown adults. Not one of the 5 people came by to offer coffee or water which is something standard in a restaurant. My husband asked for some side things, and those were never delivered, but again, no one is in the rest. We tried to speak to the manager, but she took off on us and we had to then speak to the front office mgr. who basically did nothing for us. The hotel mgmt. supports bad behavior and bad service when things go very wrong as the head manager "Tim" finally told me the next day on the phone. He refused to believe that his servers and manager are incompetent at their jobs, and should be replaced or at the very least re-trained, and then do more re-training. Kindness goes a long way servers. I have severe allergies, and the rest. manager told me "That she did NOT take allergies seriously until her niece got very ill at a restaurant." That was scary to hear since ALL staff should take allergies seriously. But, again, these people could care less about you. Emphasis, CARE LESS ABOUT YOU! We had to almost beg just to get a small cup of milk or juice. All of the servers ran around and completely ignored us or WOULD TALK BEHIND YOUR BACK, AND MAKE RUDE FACIAL EXPRESSIONS. When walking out of the rest. - the hostess could not even say good-bye or say thank you. Just looked at us with a sneer. What a way to end your dining experience. Please do not go there, it is such a huge waste of money and your experience will be devastating and shocking!!! read more

Many years later we stayed a couple of nights. For our anniversary. And To get a refresher of what posh is like. And posh is another name for this hotel. There are very few places that do a great job, in every respect, always. Like a Jeep Wrangler or Rolex submariner. There is a price for excellence and it's not cheap. If I could give 0 stars, I would. My elderly parents tried to check into the hotel. It was my father's birthday so I booked their room on my credit card. Nowhere on the website did it say that I had to be there in person to check in them since I used my credit card. I put down my fathers name on the reservation and I even have the same last name as my father, yet they would not allow my parents to be checked in when they arrived to the hotel. I received a call from my father stating that after traveling all the way to boston, they were denied their room and had to wait 40 minutes in the lobby for me. The front desk person proceeded to speak to me on the phone (after my father called me) and told me I needed to send them authentications forms with copies of my ID, and credit card... all while my parents had to wait for this email otherwise they would not be checked in. Luckily I was around a computer and was not working so I tried to send the forms back to hotel ASAP- a stressful experience because I know my parents are just sitting in the lobby waiting for me to fill out the forms to even get into their room. Once they got the forms, they finally checked my parents in. Sadly, the story only gets worse. I called the manager and told him how upsetting this was, especially considering that each night was $800 and this was supposed to be a luxury hotel and relaxing experience. He assured me that he would take care of them and apologized. I hoped that it was sincere and ended the call. When my parents got to their room, there was no water view (which is the reason why we paid $800/night). My poor parents after waiting that whole time and the lobby treating them that way didn't even get the room that we paid for. Because of this we were switched to another room.... this second room was WORSE. No water view either. FINALLY, they get switched for a THIRD time. This time there is a decent water view, but at this point my parents are exhausted and just comply. We also had dinner reservations and I had to cancel these because my parents were running so late due to the incompetence of the hotel and giving us the view we paid for. The manager stopped by and gave them a bottle of wine... thats it. That's what he meant by "take care of them." Very upsetting. Later that night, the window in the hotel room was also broken. The mechanic had to literally duct-tape the window to keep it shut. Extremely upsetting experience, especially since this was supposed to be a celebratory weekend and my parents were denied their hotel room for almost an hour, had me send forms when we have the exact same last name, I even wrote my fathers name and his information on the reservation, spoke to the front desk and said I give you permission to check them in/you can ask me any questions, AND the 2 horrible rooms they had to move to.... my parents will not be returning. We still have that $1,800 bill. Horrendous. read more

thank you to abbie (?) at the reservations desk for your exemplary service. a family member booked reservations via jalpac (TERRIBLE SERVICE) and was not offered a room choice. countless phone calls were unsuccessful in obtaining an upgrade. we were told by boston harbor hotel that an upgrade couldn't be applied to a booking made by a third party. i talked to abbie on my 2nd, 3rd, or 4th try, and she promised to put a note on our reservation. thankfully, we were able to change our room at check in from a city view standard double to an ocean view king premier corner room. vacation saved! read more

I have not stayed at this hotel. However, I feel a 5 star review is deserved for Alec who worked the front desk on the 4th of July. After a long night of dancing and disrespecting my liver at a bar near by, I stumbled into the hotel around 2:30am, convinced that my friends had a room there. Not sure why I thought my college age friends and I could afford this place, but never the less I persisted. Alec patiently looked up the names of each of my friends and politely informed me none of them had a room. Alec handled this situation with great respect and poise. Alec charged my phone and helped me order an Uber home. He even walked me to my Uber and opened the door for me! I am not sure how I would have made it home without it. I am greatly appreciative of the customer service he displayed. Alec you were my guardian angel that night. Please give Alec a raise. read more

The elevator doesn't work properly and it took 10 minutes just to get from floor 4 to 1. At least have a good elevator for parking garage that costs 20$ for 20 minutes of parking. Lower prices or at least provide better service with the garage. Holy moley. read more

This Hotel is outstanding. Their staff is 10 Stars at least. Friendly, jolly on the spot and abundantly helpful. You will enjoy your stay here for pleasure or business. We were there for medical reasons. Hospital visits and friend was readmitted to hospital for over nite. The Boston Harbor Hotel called an ambulance, escorted them to our room. Stood by for any assistance needed and saw her all the way to the elevator to the front door and into the ambulance. I was unable to go with her because of covid. The Rowes Wharf Sea Grill, bar and lounge, inside and outside seating with a view of multi. sizes and shapes of boats and ships traveling in and out of the bay. A beautiful view. Even if busy you are never rushed or hurried. They want you to enjoy your meal and drinks and relax. The service was excellent and friendly. We were expecting to be there 2 or 3 weeks but turned into 4 or 5. Were pretty hotel bound as Joy was not able to walk for any time at all. But let go of her and she was gone. So we saw a few parts of the city but the hotel has everything you need for a delightful stay. I waited too long to do this review as had so many name wrote down for above and beyond great service but of course I lost it. You will not go wrong when you stay at Boston Harbor Hotel. On a return whirlwind trip of New England, I had booked this wonderful hotel. One of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed at! The harbor views from your room are breath taking. I had reserved two rooms overlooking the Harbor. That wall, which is huge, is all window. You feel like you are inside and outside at the same time. Concerts play below and cocktail parties display great service and drinks as well as wonderful bites of flavorful food prepared by renowned Chef Daniels. . If you choose not to attend these events, you can still watch from your room and remain anonymous to the eyes of the guests and the noise is totally void. The hotel is magnificent and it is the only hotel in Boston that has been rated five stars. The rooms are large and clean. The attendants meet you at the front door, dressed in perfectly clean and appropriate uniforms. The front desk is very friendly as well as the concierge service. They freely pass out their expensive ink pens to remind you of your stay and it works! We were on one city tour of Boston and the driver pointed out the hotel, quoting what one would have to spend to stay there. My daughter, sitting closer to the front of the trolley, just turned around and smiled at us. They still email me as to what is happening in Boston and their hotel. We did not dine here, sorry to say, I had reserved everything in advance. I was a little disappointed that I had done that. This, of course, unless you have money to burn, is a splurge, but money well spent. Boston harbor is a gateway to a world of traveler's, including business tycoons who use this hotel to meet, relax and dine. When you walk into the lobby of a classic 5-star decor Boston Harbor Hotel, you feel like you walked into a movie set! Love the colors. Tentative staff. I arrived before check-in time and they did not have a room ready. So I left my luggage there, and asked them to check me in when they have a room available and bring my luggage up. I arrived back in the evening, grabbed my key card and went to my room. The corridors look so nice, and when I got into my room, my luggage was there and viola, the deluxe room! My favorite was the vanity area outside the bathroom where I can sit in front of the mirror in the morning and evening and take my time. I expect very high level service and Boston Harbor exceeded my expectation! Staff were all polite and bright. They accommodated all my requests perfectly. I cannot be happier. We were able to get an EXPRESS DEAL on PRICELINE for this hotel. My husband and I are great at getting 4 and 5 star hotels for exceptional deals in BOSTON. We have stayed at 3 Five Star hotels, and this is one of them. I will say, while very nice and beautiful location, I am a bit underwhelmed with the hotel itself. In comparison to the other 5 star hotels we have stayed in, this one feels old and in need of a refresher. I understand it is supposed to be quaint and appear older, but the quality of certain things just seems a bit off. The bathroom in our junior suite seems to have the floor molding coming off the wall, you can hear the elevators, a piece of the coffee table is missing, and the armoire seems like its tipping. I may sound picky, but for a 5 star hotel, I have high expectations. In addition, you are paying $50 a night for parking, when most in this area are $40. It's nice. It's just not breathtaking like I expected. To be honest the Intercontinental Hotel down the street is much more elegant and updated. Just my honest opinion. read more

Rooms are quite spacious, have a normal area for bed and bathroom but an additional vanity area as well. I stayed in a harbor view room which was quite nice to wake up to in the morning. I was only there for one night so can't speak too much to the service but what i did experience was fine, nothing special though. Appreciated that they had wifi instead of a cord so i could work from bed. I don't love the old fashioned / antique looking feel so not my favorite decor. Fixtures were modern, curtains looked like cheap versions of the upholstery in the place of versailles. Location is superb, walkable to lots of things. Bed was soft, i sunk a little but it was comfy nonetheless We had a few meetings at the hotel, used the South Atlantic room and Phillips room. Both were spacious and elegant. Catering was extremely good. They had a big spread for breakfast, fresh fruit, coffee, teas, hot chocolate (yeah this was pretty damn good), pastries, eggs etc. The actual set-up was very decadent, reminded me of having tea in England. read more

Our family of 4 (Wife + two kids, 12 & 14) had one night in Boston on our way to a wedding and, par usual, we waited until we got off the plane at Logan to find a hotel. As it was a Thursday night, most of the hotels in downtown Boston were still on their weekly rates, so there wasn't an inexpensive option to consider (i.e. less than $250) unless we wanted to be in the 'burbs. Boston Harbor Hotel was far and away the best deal of our options given its high star rating and location....little did we know that we were headed for a more upscale evening than we'd anticipated - or packed for! We took a cab from Logan for $15-20 and we quickly got the hint that the BHH was HIGH END - not snooty, but very well appointed and with top-tier service. We looked a bit like a pack of lost Griswold family members as we ambled through the lobby, but again everyone was kind if not a little amused. The hotel sponsors a live music series that literally is on the water - the musicians are on a floating platform, surrounded by docks with table service. Awesome. Upon departure we took the water taxi back to Logan to pick up our rental car (because why pick it up early just to pay $30+ to park it overnight + the extra day of rental), and that was super easy. I'd love to stay here again, but next time - particularly if I'm arriving during the week - I'll leave the flip-flops and Sox hat in the bag and opt for a little dressier attire! P.S. The room is very nice, large and with a good sized bathroom with a door to the commode. Ask for the harbor view - it's fantastic! read more

Ifyou are looking for detail and meticulousness, it's Boston Harbor Hotel. Everything is good from the carpet, to the marble floors, to the door knobs, to the blankets, chairs, everything. another thing is that it sits in the center of Boston Harbor and you can see the spectacular sea view from the window. I was there as photographer covering a wedding and one of my big consideration is the background.Everything is good. If you go out of the hotel, you see the yatchs and boats which are good backgrounds too. On top of this is the doom which is like the hallmark of the hotel. Just spent three nights there, it was wonderful. The service was impeccable. The room was fabulous with terrific views. Only a couple of non-5 star things. The bathroom light was dark (but the bathroom and amenities 5 stars); and to order java for one in the morning was $22, plus any additional tip beyond the auto charge, (the taste was was sublime, although pricey). There is coffee down by the restaurant, but, who wants to actually have to get ready to go outside the wonderful wrong before coffee? There's also espresso in the room, but I like freshly brewed coffee much better. read more

What can I say? This hotel was amazing. Great views, great service, great location. From the moment I walked in, I was treated like royalty. 5-star service indeed. The valet parking made entering the hotel quick and easy. We were about three hours early and had planned on leaving our things in storage until our room was ready, but they managed to accommodate us and within fifteen minutes, I was in my hotel room. The views were breathtaking. We actually got a complimentary upgrade and had a water view room (although I heard our original city view room was nice as well). I couldn't stop looking out the window. The glass windows give you an expansive view of the Boston Harbor. The room itself was spacious for a deluxe room, but otherwise standard. I actually did not like the smell of the shower soaps, but if that's my biggest complaint, I think they're doing rather well. The concierge was extremely helpful! He gave us suggestions on places to eat for dinner, places to go for entertainment, and even the best brunch places in the morning. Every place he recommended that we ventured to was great and exactly what we were looking to experience. When we checked out, we wanted to further explore the city before we left, and they graciously allowed us to storage our luggage until 5pm. When we returned, they were attentive, and within minutes my car was fully loaded, and I was off to visit my sister. Because we were only staying for a short time, we wanted to make the most of our Boston experience, and therefore, we traveled quite a bit outside of the hotel; however, I heard the amenities in the hotel were great as well. Just got back from our week stay in the New England and could not wait to review this place. The only sad thing about this place was that it was our first hotel stay of the trip and set the bar way too high for any other New England hotel to match. We took the red eye flight in from Los Angeles so when we landed at Logan at 5am we were zombies. It's really easy to get here from Logan via the "T". All you have to do is take the Silver Line to the South Station and it's a short walk up Atlantic (We wish we knew this when we first got there). Knowing that our hotel check in wasn't until 4pm we wondered over to the hotel to simply check our bags and wonder around town. The front desk was extremely gracious by seeing if there was something they could do to help us out and gave us our 4pm check in at 7am! Once we got to our room we were quite impressed with the size of it. It was very spacious and very comfortable. I've read some of the reviews about the style being old fashioned or outdated in this hotel but after checking it out it wasn't old fashion. It was a bit more turn of the century and Art-Deco in it's design. Sure it wasn't one of the modern design places like the Intercontinental a few places over but I come from LA where every hotel looks like that. The Boston Harbor Hotel gave me a little more of a New England Feel and for that I am very grateful. When we finally crashed on the bed we laid down of one of the softest most comfortable mattresses we've ever slept on in our lives. It was like sleeping on a cloud. I took advantage of the Fitness Center and was very impressed with it. I loved the salt water pool and was impressed with the locker room which had a sauna and amenities for me to shower, shave and start my day. The hotel also sits on the harbor with a beautiful boardwalk at it's back door. This hotel was truly the hotel highlight of our trip and cannot express how pleased we were with our experience. No other hotel was able to live up to this hotels experience. If you have the dough to shell out for a little luxury, make the Boston Harbor Hotel your choice. We're so glad we did! read more

The Boston Harbor Hotel is a bracing antidote to that "all hotels are starting to look the same" feeling I have had lately. It is a fantastic hotel. The location is unbeatable. Its employees are gracious and very competent (great concierges and simply wonderful doormen - the best anywhere). The public areas are extremely gracious and humanly scaled. Even the elevators are really nicely decorated. The entire building was spotless from top to bottom. I usually like contemporary hotels, but this hotel has taken very traditional decor and elevated it to include every modern comfort one can think of. I particularly liked the bed, one of the most comfortable in any hotel I have experienced, and the four-outlet charging station hidden behind a panel on the front of the top portion of the desk. Very clever. Also, the HDTV actually was HD, and had the full menu of networks most of us now have at home. The bar is warm and gracious, and the bartenders know how to make a good cocktail. They also have a very good selection of single malt scotches and a nice wine list by the glass. The Rowes Wharf Seafood Grill is quite good for dinner, with very fresh oysters and fish. Breakfasts are good, if overpriced and a bit too much if you are a yogurt and fruit guy like me. The basement gym needs updated equipment IMO, but is clean and well-staffed. Love this place. My boyfriend and I stayed here for my birthday a few days ago - and it's safe to say that the BHH is my new fav hotel in Boston. We usually stay at the Four Seasons but I wanted something a little quieter and close to the seaport. The BHH did not disappoint. The service was 5 star all the way, the room was clean and beautiful and the hotel is beautiful (plus - how can you beat the view?!) The only reason why I am not leaving 5 stars is because we put in the reservation that it was my bday and I think they could have done a little something - I used to work at a hotel and we always made sure to do something for a guests birthday celebration ! read more

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary during probably one of the coldest days of the year (5 degrees). We attempted to venture out and explore Boston, but decided that we would be more comfortable spending the evening lounging in our room and ordering in. We were delighted with our experience from the time we arrived until we left. We found the bell staff to be friendly and the front desk staff was friendly, professional, and efficient. The room was clean and well appointed with comfortable furnishings. The city view was fantastic. The bathroom was very clean and well appointed, but had a tub rather than a walk in. The tub was clean and functioned properly so I didn't mind. We also enjoyed the scent of the soap so much that we bought some on our way out to the airport. We were in a handicap accessible room (we were not handicapped) and found that the bathroom lacked hooks for towels and clothing. I assumed that since the bathroom was modified that this was an oversight of the retrofit. The food we ordered for in room dining was fantastic. I especially enjoyed the lobster salad croissant. The following morning we enjoyed a delicious breakfast overlooking the frozen landscape from the comfort of our room. The room had a coffee maker with coffee pods, but the pods were hidden out of sight and I almost did not see them; however, the coffee served with my breakfast was much better. Every single member of the staff that we encountered was friendly, helpful, and was focused on ensuring a comfortable experience. I always enjoy my time at the BHH as the staff is all around great, the food is quality, the room is clean and comfortable, and the location is A+. I also love the bar, which this review has nothing to do with. Unfortunately, on my most recent stay, my girlfriend and I were extremely disappointed in the hotel's total mismanagement of their on-site renovations, which forced them to close the fitness center/pool. We were not informed of this on Hotwire, it's not on their website, no one told us upon check-in, and there are no posted notices inside the hotel. When my girlfriend went down to workout in the morning, the elevator would not go to the fitness level. Upon inquiring at the front desk, she was greeted with unapologetic and unhelpful staff. Not the biggest deal in the world, but the hotel has a responsibility to the consumer to inform them if some of their services are not available. Otherwise, it's false advertising. BHH chose false advertising because they did not want to lose the room revenue that would assuredly come with making this information public. Poor choice; poor values. Later in the day I also saw an enraged guest screaming at the staff in the lobby because he had decided to take a holiday break and planned on being at the pool most of the day. They obviously did not inform him either. I felt badly for this man as it was clearly something he had been looking forward to. This is shameful business BHH; get your priorities in order! Want to feel like a fairy prince or princess? Boston Harbor Hotel will satisfy your fantasy from the minute you walk in the door, and will continue the fanfare right on through check-out. The building has that old money classy feel, which, done wrong can feel intimidating or condescending toward younger folk. Done right, and you feel utterly relaxed, cared for and appreciated for your business. This is a place where they do it right. The rooms are spotless of course. Turn-down service is impeccably timed. Staff are extremely professional: courteous and helpful, without being disingenuous. The clean and not over-chlorinated 60 ft lap pool is a huge highlight for me as most hotel pools are too short to get any kind of workout in. A very large hot tub is also a friendly post workout amenity. Most of the time, I'd say it's worth the extra bucks to pay for the harbor view as we did. Unfortunately, at the time of our visit, there was construction going on right outside our 10th floor room and the view was partially blocked by scaffolding - not to mention a few construction guys walking right by the large window and staring in. (ew!) I was going to dock a star for this, but I realize this is a temporary condition, and truly, the rest of our stay was absolutely seamless. Tip: some have complained about the high parking garage fee, but the hotel validated for us and we didn't pay a dime for parking. read more

Recently had the pleasure of staying in this hotel. Had a harborview suite, which had the most killer view of the harbor and environs. The room was immaculate, with every amenity one could desire. The service was excellent - courteous and prompt. The pool and spa were both well equipped. A wonderful base from which to enjoy Boston - it's in walking distance to the subway, the North End, and the Aquarium. read more

The service you receive at the Boston Harbor Hotel is phenomenal. Every single employee makes an effort to make guests feel comfortable and welcome, and it shows. I stayed during my very first trip to Boston. I didn't really know what to expect of the city or of this property. When I arrived, I realized that I'd booked a hotel in the financial district. This would not have been my preference had I further researched the area. I also noted that while it was very beautiful and well maintained, it clearly had more of a classic, old fashioned style and catered to an older, more "well to do" business crowd. Again, had I known this, I probably would not have chosen to stay here. But, it would have been my loss. My boyfriend and I were easily the youngest guests that were not in the company of a parent or legal guardian. We arrived in casual clothes, carrying backpacks and stuck out like sore thumbs. None of this mattered and any awkwardness I felt disappeared when we were warmly greeted by staff member after staff member. I felt like a returning frequent stay guest instead of a first time visitor. The common areas of the hotel, and our room, were immaculate. Our standard room was extremely spacious. And, while I would have opted for a more contemporary property that catered to a younger clientele, I was taken aback by just how much I appreciated their classic furnishings and old world style. Again, the staff is amazing. When I stopped to ask the concierge for restaurant recommendations, they not only gave me multiple suggestions in a variety of price ranges but also took the time to draw me walking maps to each place. We preordered breakfast the night before:waking up to hot lobster and crab omelets and freshly baked croissants was luxurious. Take advantage of their in room dining: it's far above average. We grabbed a nightcap at the restaurant bar and felt very cosmopolitan in our cocktail attire. They granted us a late checkout without hesitation. And, they e-mailed me a folio of my final bill before we made it to our car. Our entire trip was first class all the way: highly recommended! read more

The "Hahhbah", is really a top flight hotel. I really wasn't trying to stay here, but it was the only hotel with availability. Seriously! Oh hush. Anyway, I normally cab it when I come to Boston, I can only imagine what parking here would cost, so VERY happy to not be driving this time out. This hotel is very well maintained and everyone gets the door for you, it's really off-putting in comparison to regular hotels. How can they compare? You guys are spoiling me over here! They put me on the 10th floor, harbor side and even at night the view is fantastic. Couldn't wait to get up in the morning to see that view. They set me up with a wonderfully appointed king room. This hotel also offers turn down service in the evenings, which is a great touch. Room came with its own DVD player, wish I had known, I would have brought my latest Netflix flick. This hotel is in the Financial District, so there a ton of restaurant and bar choices within quick walking distance. Now, the Boston Harbor WILL give your credit card a beat down, so be prepared.....and enjoy! read more
