BEWARE food comas are virtually guaranteed. The sitting area is not something to write home about but they offer take away which is great. They also sell by the slice at a very attractive price considering the size of it. (its massive) Had the Bostonian which was as delicious as they describe. In fact after coming back multiple times, all of the ones that I have tried have been amazingly good. Massive pizza, great price. Medium or large, you get your value for money as the price per square inch is the same. Friendly staff and great service, would come again anytime. I don't say this lightly. The man working the cash register is consistently the nicest guy you will meet working behind one of those things. Kudos sir. I will be very sad if anyone looking for food goes to the fast food chain across the street instead of visiting this shop. Give them all your monies. Their pizzas are worth every penny. read more

Special instructions that were give while placing the order in person that could not have been missed is "less greasy and well done pizza please!" Good slices, good value. The slices here are large - each one is an entire quarter of a pizza, so really more like two slices - and at $2.75 for cheese, or $3.50 for 1 or more toppings, that's fair pricing. The buffalo chicken slice is very tasty. While some places might approximate 'buffalo chicken' by using chicken breast and some generic hot sauce, BKP takes actual chicken wings - good ones - and uses them to top the pizza. Just delicious. The crust is chewy, crispy on the bottom, and the cheese was nicely browned in spots. Sauce was not a big part of the experience - most of the slices I tried had only a very thin layer - so that's one area where they could improve. More sauce = more flavor, right? BKP seems like mainly a casual, to-go kind of place. While I did see people ordering entire pies to eat in, most customers ordered slices, either to eat in or to go. Compared to the best sit-down pizza places, BKP rates more like 3 stars, but compared to pizza-by-slice joints, definitely 4. read more

I am super, super impressed with this place. Again, for work, I was in search of something cheap yet super tasty to feed a huge group of people. I had a coupon, and saw they did catering, so I took a chance. Not only were they super friendly, the food was FANTASTIC! I ordered the Large of the Cheese Lasagna which proved to be enough for seconds AND left overs. It was warm, filled with TONS of melting cheese and just the right amount of garlic. From that, to the pizza-dough bread sticks, to the SUPER awesome Cesar salad to the service itself...and overall truly pleasant experience. Plus, I have to say, for the amount of food we got the price was way reasonable. Another in the books to make our office happy, but my boss happy about the price. Score! This place occupying the slot formerly Pho Vietnam seems to be trying to compete directly with New York Pizza. It's a similar style, in terms of the style of pizza, level of caramelization of the cheese, size of slices... Similar price point. The pizzas are fairly well topped. It is a bit different. The pizza can be hit or miss. It has a good flavor, but is exceptionally greasy. It is also on the fairly soft side, whereas NY's is more crisp. I prefer a bit more solid texture and the slice of pepperoni I had melted through three plates in terms of the oil. I had to resort to a knife and fork because the slice could not maintain its own structural integrity. They just opened, so service is very much with a smile and they are getting the inefficiencies out of the system. I'll see how they are like when they are more established, but so far, not bad. Just that they use one of those set-time rolling ovens. The pricing of other selections seem reasonable and comparable. read more

Awesome Falafel, and OMG HUGE burgers, and although the Falafel dinner was excellent, it was mostly rice and only 5 pieces of small falafel, which was disappointing to me, because I wanted more Falafel and not the rice and salad, but i guess that's my own fault for not asking about it before ordering. Suppose I should have just gotten the servings of falafel instead of the falafel dinner, The burgers however, OMG they were very tasty, and freaking HUGE. I was excited to discover Boston Kitchen Pizza soon after it opened. It's solidly good tasting basic pizza, whether plain cheese or with toppings. But the real reason I love the place is because it's one of the few places around downtown crossing/theater district which is actually still open at night and on the weekend. Eventually, downtown crossing bars and restaurants will realize that yes, people DO live here. In the meantime, thanks for the pizza! The one caveat, which is the reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars, is that the pizza has been a bit hit or miss. I assume they'll find their footing as time goes on (or so this hungry downtown crossing patron hopes!). read more

We've gotten delivery from here a few times and it was really greasy, but then when we've gone there for pizza and it hasn't been. Very confusing. Every year, as soon as Passover starts and I give up wheat, my pizza cravings kick in. This year, I'm one step ahead of the game by having a huge pizza lunch the day before. You can't get me this time, pizza cravings! Anyhow, I don't think Boston Kitchen Pizza beats New York pizza (or at least not Joe's), but by Boston standards, it's great. The pizzas were so warm and fresh when they arrived - so much better than most places that just throw slices in the oven for a minute resulting in a lukewarm pizza. The slice itself was thin but the crust was nice and airy - truly the best of both worlds. I really liked how they had a lot of by-the-slice options beyond cheese and pepperoni. I got the mushroom slice, which could have used more mushrooms, but I take what I can get. I also tried half a slice of the Melanzone specialty pie with eggplant, roasted red pepper and garlic. The cooked cloves of garlic were so good and gave it a much fresher taste than plain old garlic powder. I didn't try anything else, but the rest of their menu is jam-packed with just about everything, from lasagna to shawarma to burgers. It's kind of ridiculous. read more

I have so many good memories associated with this pizza... Late nights studying at TMC aided by this pizza, eating it on the T before going to Fenway, and freezing it in preparation of days I won't have time to make dinner (this pizza freezes really well and maintains it's quality better than any other pizza I have tried). The buffalo pizza is by far the best. It is the most deliciously greasy pizza in Boston and the slices are huge! So much flavor and the topping distribution is not stingy. Good pizza, very thin slices, super cheesy, under $3 ($2.85 to be exact) for a pretty big cheese slice, and I think they use cornmeal on their crust, which gives it an added texture. This location was very convenient for me because I was staying next door at Hostelling International and the WiFi at the hostel was down for almost every day of my stay, and this restaurant had good reliable WiFi. read more

Looks can be deceiving. Although BKP is housed along the corner of chinatown near the sketchy and dilapidated chinese $0.99 store, don't hesitate to stop in here for a quick slice. The crust is the star here. It's NYC thin, without the grease. The pie has the perfect chewiness and is generously loaded with toppings, bathed with minimal, slightly-sweet, tomato sauce, and baked to just the right crispiness. In accordance with all the other generic pizza joints, BKP has an extensive non-pizza menu with sandwiches, pastas, etc. I haven't tried anything else on the menu, and don't plan to, because with pizza this yummy it doesn't matter. Yes, yes, yes. My friends and I were in the Common after stuffing ourselves at the New England Dessert Showcase and realized we needed some savory to balance out all the sweet. Also, we maybe had the munchies from a contact high from the legalize marijuana protest going on. Enter Boston Kitchen Pizza, deliverer of thin, crispy, greasy NY-style pizza that was PERFECT. Seriously, the slightly sweet sauce was a perfect complement to the oozing cheese (and pepperoni and sausage), and the crust was hearty enough to wipe up any drippings we missed the first time around. Pretty good! On Monday evening, the pepperoni & mushroom slice was large, hot (temperature-wise), tasty, and salty in a good way. But Friday at lunch, my buffalo chicken slice was not heated all the way through. If it was piping hot, it might have been delicious. This is definitely a proper NYC style pizza indeed. Thin crust with salty toppings that give you enough topping with each bite. Chewy plush dough in between the warm crisp layers. Buffalo chicken pizza for the win! I popped in for a quick slice before heading to Macy's to prevent hunger-induced buying impulse. For $3.75 the slice was huge, with plenty of chicken, topping was deliciously oily and stringy with a touch of spiciness, but most important of all, the crust was wonderfully crispy, soft and chewy all at the same time. The store had a typical fast food look; food served on paper plates. Most of the orders seemed to be takeouts. Service was fast, though on the curt side. In short, come in for the food and not the ambiance. You won't impress your date here, but if your idea of a romantic dinner for two is take out pizza then you are in trouble anyway! read more

Not a lot of cheap places to eat in downtown Boston. And even though there's plenty of cheap places in Chinatown sometimes I just want a slice of pizza. Now for all those who compare pizza from Boston to NYC style please get over it. No where on this menu does it ever claim to be NY style pizza so obviously expecting to get that is not a fair comparison. What you will get is an incredibly massive slice for just over $3 dollars. Seriously, every time I come here for a slice it is literally double the size of an average slice and they have six regular toppings they serve by the slice. So if you aren't a cheese or pepperoni fan they do have a veggie and grilled chicken or buffalo if you're a little bit risky with your toppings. And the crust isn't hard or over done. I don't know how they do with all the other expansive menu items they offer but at least the pizza is cheap, fresh and done right. This was actually the first eatery I visited when I first came to Boston for my interview with Tufts Dental. Back then, I had to eat at this place because it was the cheapest and closest to the school itself. Now, I choose to eat here because of the quality of the pizzas. Despite their enormous and ever changing menu, they do everything quite alright. Nothing apart from the pizza particularly stands out but they're not too bad either. Their slices of pizza are generous in size, no doubt. Their dough has the right amount of chew, butter, and flavor. My favorite from here has to be the pesto chicken pizza. The price isn't cheap, but for Boston I would say it's on the lower end so that's a win. If you're ever in the need for a quick bite, this would be the spot to get it. read more

I try to venture out of my comfort zone (i.e. veggie pizza), so I decided to try the Bostonian. It has chicken marinated in a honey garlic glaze and sesame seeds (probably an Asian take of Chinatown), crushed red pepper (spicy element!), white vinegar (sour kick), and cheese. Just to let you know, there is no sauce on this pizza. And it doesn't need it either. It will definitely be a repeat order. Ordered a side of wing dings as well - which are basically perfectly fried chicken wings. They give you a choice of dipping sauces. Great for 'on the go' food! read more

When the pizza is fresh, it's unbeatable. I got two slices today - the first was directly from the oven. It was PERFECT. Flaky buttery crust with a wonderful sauce and lots of tasty cheese. Wow. I was sold! My second slice was from a pie that was sitting there: I saw the guy grab the first from the oven, and the second from this other pizza. The second slice, while tasty, was pretty tough and halfway through, my jaw hurt from chewing. The place is clean enough, but because there are 2 doors you can enter in, all the chill from outside often flows in, and it gets awful crowded. If you go early enough and can get a fresh slice, I can't recommend it enough. As for older pizza/slices, I'd pass. read more

Great salad, great pepperoni pizza and most of all, the young man who's family owns the restaurant couldn't have been more polite and customer service focused. I've been to this establishment twice with my friends. On the first occassion we got the two pizzas and on the second occasion I got the fish and chips. It is safe to say I will not be coming back for a third time. The pizza was so soggy that the cheese layer literally fell off and separated from the rest of the pizza. In essence you have to use a fork and knife to literally eat their pizzas. The price is outrageous and the pizza did not even taste that great. The fish and chips were terrible. I got the fish and chips dinner for 10.99 (complete and total rip off) and they didn't even make the dish properly. The fish had no batter and it tasted like costco frozen fish. Oh yeah and the guy taking orders can barely understand English. He had a hard time understanding what we wanted and he messed up my friends order. OMG. YES. I'm back in California now, and I already miss this place. Since it was right down the street from our hotel, my boyfriend and I decided to try it out. We got a large pizza and asked them if they can split the flavors, which they did! We ended up getting the recommended Buffalo Chicken Pizza and the Fenway. The Fenway is your typical, sausage (but in big chunks) pizza. However, the Buffalo Chicken pizza. WOW. I'm currently salivating thinking about it! I'm pretty sure all the reviewers who claim the pizza here is "NYC style" have never actually had a real NYC pie (not from a Rays chain, but Grimaldi's or Joe's, for example). BPK is not "good pizza" by any definition (even compared to the average NYC slice). The key problem is that the crust is extremely dry. The second problem is that even if you go during the busy lunch hour, all the slices you get are from old pies made in the morning, so the dryness factor goes up by 10-fold. Sauce and cheese are just average. I'm not sure if any of this is due to the weird conveyor belt oven. Pros: good location, very friendly staff, they take LevelUp, cheap for the quantity of food you get. I work across the street, but I prefer to walk a few blocks to Crazy Dough's for a decent slice. Other than the pizza, the only other item I've had is the eggplant parm sandwich. Kinda gross - overfried. The TV is set to ESPN always, FYI. read more
