I've been wanting to try this place for a while as they look so cozy, welcoming and filled with people. I don't usually write reviews but we were very disappointed. - Oysters weren't fresh, seemed like they were refrigerated after being opened and covered with pepper and herbs. I've never seen that before and prefer to eat oysters with nothing on them. - Chicken Parmesan wasn't good either. My friend said he can make a better one at home. Arugula salad was supposed to have blue cheese but it wasn't included. - The wine choices weren't great either (surprisingly for an Italian place). We had zero satisfaction from the experience. Ehhh I was wanting to try this place out cause of the pics I see on yelp, but it was such a disappointment the food here is below average I guess they want the bar business more. The service is horrible the waitress didn't know what she was doing and the waiter would rather talk to a couple on the table for 20 mins than come ask us if we're ok and we weren't!! No water refill and from them until the busboy saw us and he was better at waiting tables than the actual waiter and waitress! My suggestion is switch their jobs give the busboy that job and give the wait servers the busboys job!! Drinks and the busboy got the 2 stars!! read more

Can I give no stars at all? Small portions, high prices. When questioned the chef barked at me that this is Italian style. Italian style? I never had such rubbery mozzarella on my chicken parmigiana. Mozzarella sold at Costco is better than that. Very American price. In Italy all of the price are half the price and include tax and tip. I live in Italy part of the year and never had food that was so un-Italian. Plenty of other places in the area to waste my time here. We ordered Spritz, it was packed with ice. In all my life in Italy I never had a spritz with more than 2-3 ice cubes at 1/3 the price and that includes tax and tip. This place is for suckers that never went outside of Queens! read more

I had been meaning to try this place for a while as I live right around the corner and their menu looks great! I ordered from here on the 4th of July and decided on trying the orecchiette with sausage and broccoli rabe. The order came super quickly after I placed it - I requested al dente pasta with a side of parmesan cheese and they adhered to my "special requests" that I listed upon ordering which was great! The pasta was fresh and delicious, the sausage was a little too chewy for my taste but overall I would give it a 4/5 and would definitely order from there again. Cocky,good -looking bartenders can intimidate you for the first time but they are super friendly.I am pretty much gluten- free during the weekdays but when I come here, I can smell everything from the kitchen and I can't help myself ordering anything I crave for the evening.Fresh,Simple and Authentic.The chef Anton is amazing .I have travelled well in Italy so I know what I am talking about. I usually order plates from "Special",usually the dishes are bigger than their Instagram pictures.Those who left negative comments such as "small portion" or "Too expensive", you should go to Olive Garden or just buy grocery at Costco and cook yourself at home. I walk past Botte Bar daily and it seems somewhat small on the inside, always busy and hence, maybe claustrophobic. I decided to try it a few days ago and I know why it's always busy now, food was excellent! Ambience was really nice and a great date spot. When deciding what to order, I read someone's negative review about the chicken parmigiana and thought, "if you want an authentic Italian dish, why order the most American Italian dish?" The owner's response was wonderful and I was beginning to feel I made the right choice for my dinner plans. With that we ordered the meatballs as an appetizer, which were tender and delicious, along with the gnocchi and cacio e pepe. Gnocchi was great and the fresh buffalo mozzarella added even more flavor. The cacio e pepe was cooked perfectly and also very flavorful. We each left feeling like we ordered the best thing on the menu, not always a common occurrence. Our server was a one person show working on a Labor Day weekend, so when our drinks didn't come out immediately, I completely understood, yet he was kind enough to take off our second round due to any wait. Very disappointed. I used to come here when it was Vite. I was having a conversation with a friend and quoting what was said. Unfortunately the muscle head owner said hey keep it down. There was two people next to me who said they were not offended. To be honest the owner was wrapped up in talking to the pretty young blondes by his window. All I have to say is it was better under Pietro and Pino when it was Vite and these new young muscle heads need a lot to learn in customer service. I forgot to say...muclehead owner said you can go somewhere else. To add validity to my comment...look at my previous ratings and you will see how fair I am. I now have to edit my comment because as you can see from the response below...I've been accused of smoking at the bar. This is the best Italian food I have had since Italy. The owner is so friendly and welcoming. The food is fresh and absolutely amazing. The sauce for the seafood pasta was incredible and the desserts all delicious! The meatballs, fried burrata, bruschetta, salmon, vodka sauce...I could go on forever. Incredible food experience. I got the best carbonara I have ever had here today. The cook and quality of the meat took it over the top. Worth the money for sure. I also talked the owner into modifying a sandwich to my liking and it was absolutely phenomenal: tomatoes, olive oil and burrata. I had some balsamic reduction at home and together it made the best possible sandwich. I love seeing places like this open during this crazy time and really prospering - I will be a weekly customer. read more

I've been here a couple times and it's been consistent every time I come. I usually just sit at the bar and order the meatballs. It's very tasty and price point is fair. But why does a restaurant begin to blast music when there are people sitting and eating and chatting? They may as well walk over to their customers and ask them to leave at 10pm. I have gone to Botte Bar a few times since they have opened and I can not gush over it enough. Decor is clean and perfect for the space: clean white tile backsplash behind the bar, wood tables and simple seating. Candles flickered when the sun set and the lights lowered to give it a beautiful ambiance. It's a small space but perfect for the type of food and drink they serve. The food menu is delicious and flavorful. Shout outs to the cooks and their diligence and skill! I was with a larger party and we ordered numerous items off of the menu. The burrata was a wonderful and delicious treat, their oysters were yummy and melt in your mouth fresh. The bruschetta was delightful, the bread toasted with amazing olive oil, everything fresh and bright. Other hits at the table were the top notch gnocchi dinner special served with arugula and almonds in a rich gorgonzola sauce and the eggplant parmigiana which was delicate and flavorful. It's so hard to choose dishes to eat because everything is so friggin' good. Their tomato sauce is stellar...we all asked for bread to sop up the yumminess. Can't stress how yummy the food is enough, guys! The cannolis. The cannolis!!!!!! A homerun with those! The service is impeccable. Ordered for pick up. I told them my name and the server (skinny guy with the receding hairline) confidently gave me a bag with no receipt on it. I was in a hurry to eat so I left and drove home and opened the bag and realized it was the wrong order. So now I had to jump back in my car and drive back to the restaurant and tell this bozo that he gave me the wrong order. He just says "Ok, your food is coming" no apology or nothing but whatever that's fine (meanwhile I worked all day and have a pregnant wife and kid at home waiting to eat). So I'm waiting for another 20 minutes for my food and I ask him how much longer and gives me in his tough guy voice "they're making it" and that "you've been in a bad mood since you got here." ‍ It was at this moment that you wouldn't even begin to fathom the restraint I summoned to not to throw this clown into another dimension. I'm an easy guy, a simple "my apologies we're making you another one, it'll be out in a minute" would've sufficed. But instead this guy reacted like it was my fault that I had to drive back to the restaurant because HE screwed up my order... This one interaction just kept this restaurant from ever getting my money again. - Food was eh. If it was good I would've sucked up this experience and wouldn't have written this review.
