Typically Botte has been one of our go-to spots in the neighborhood and we often go there with our 3 year old. We wanted to have an early Valentines Day dinner with our 3 year old around 6:30pm. There was no indication that they were doing a special pre-fixe menu. It was sort of ridiculous--they claimed they couldn't even do a pasta for my child. After many rounds, they agreed to do a plate of pasta (which was incredibly dry and tasteless). And then they took well over 1.5 hours to get out the food. At which point, I had to leave with my child. It was a supremely disappointing experience. It could have been noted that they were doing a pre-fixe dinner or that they did not want children on valentines day. We don't think we will be back--and particularly, not with our child! read more

Since their opening Francesco and Valerio have been on the ball. The interior design which they did themselves is reminiscent of a upscale steakhouse and even looks better than some. For dinner our server Ben was a delight. He patiently explained the menu and gave solid recommendations ( classic tomato and oregano bruschetta, pizza bianca and diavola, baby cod livornese, NY strip). Each course was delivered on point and piping hot. For a brand new restaurant I have to say they executed the service as if they had been there for years ! Then I found out they have been but in Astoria, and their following is so religious, half the bar were their regulars from Astoria ! The wine selection had the Tenuta San Guida Giliberto ( Sassicaia back label) and tasty prosecco. Was very impressed with spirit selection as well and they did a very nice peanut butter dessert drink which was out of this world. Quality of all ingredients were 100. Parmigiano not, Parmesan. Quality freshly crushed tomatoes, fiore de latte cheese. Overall you can count me as a new regular addition to the UES Botte family ! read more

just came here alone on a Friday night for a chill glass of wine and a snack. the bar is beautiful and the space is supper club meets modern Italian joint. really cool and unique--especially for this neighborhood. the service is amazing--the bartender was lovely, and the manager chris was super personable and instantly makes you want to be a regular. it's nice to have someone care so much about your experience. i love a place you can go alone, relax, and feel totally comfortable. wine list is great and glasses are really reasonable. can't wait to try all of the salads and vegetarian apps. everything looks super fresh. i rarely leave reviews but this place is a gem and i can't want to add it to the rotation. read more

Botte has been on my restaurant wish list for quite some time. After having a Friday night dinner at the bar, I can say with confidence that it exceeded my expectations! The ambiance is perfect and cozy, the food is out of this world and the service was the best part of all. Chris and Emma served us the bar and they were so personable and kind. The cocktails were crafted to perfection and the food recommendations we received from Chris were right on point! Chris was attentive, warm and very genuine. Even with a busy bar, he made sure to authentically engage with everyone! He made sure that our experience was a memorable one, which was so greatly appreciated. All in all, it was a 10/10 experience for a date night. We will certainly be back soon to eat the what could be Michelin star food and engage with the wonderful staff! read more

Want to like this place, but it needs a lot of work. Interior atmosphere is pretty good, and the price point is good for core Italian, they could be successful long term with a few changes. Firstly, we had a reservation, but when we arrived, we were told 7 other tables for our time slot were also waiting because people weren't leaving as expected. Long wait. The place is small, so thats a TON of people waiting, huge issue. Additionally, they did not check vaccine cards. We sat at the bar while we waited, bad draft coming through windows, small nit but its freezing at the front. The food is only OK, the menu looks like classic Italian favorites but the portions are quite small and the food is under seasoned and some dishes were quite off (avoid the carbonara). We may give it another chance in a few months once they iron some things out. read more

Lenny and the entire staff of Botte treated us to an exceptional Saturday night dinner. The hostess seated us out back in the garden which was a nice secluded area with servers who would come by to check on us often. The menu was expansive and the food was delicious (and catered to vegetarianism and gluten free diets). The manager made sure we were being attended to. Truly a delightful experience! Come for apps and drinks - our entrees were awful. The pasta special was flavorless (no white wine sauce whatsoever) the eggplant parm was a mound of mozzarella and sauce with a few slices of eggplant, and all the pasta dishes were undercooked. This is an exceptional restaurant. Have eaten here in person several times and recently ordered take out. The service is wonderful and friendly. The food is delicious and travels well. Our favorite is the funghi pizza, the salads, and the chicken parm with rigatoni (they do vodka sauce on request and it rivals Carbone). Highly recommend. This place used to be amazing, but it has gone down significantly. The wait staff was fantastic however the kitchen and manager were an absolute mess. Main courses took over an hour to come out from the kitchen and it was all wrong. Chris (the manager) literally laughed in our faces when we asked for help. Sent out the wrong pizzas/courses, then proceed to scoop off the wrong toppings to then just 'throw' on the right ones. They were all cold. The bread sent to the table could chip a tooth as it was harder then a crouton. Someone at the table had a serious gluten allergy and the serving staff had no regard, with gluten pasta/meals spilt all over the gluten free cold plate. Chicken parm used to be great, it was black from being seared under the broiler. We asked the manger (Chris) to assist and he said "well you don't like anything put on the table" then walked away laughing. This place has devolved quickly - used to be a local neighborhood haunt but now don't bother. read more

If I can give this place negative stars, I would. The service was that horrible. I can't comment on the food because I never got it. I've been wanting to check out this place for awhile. I go in earlier during the day to set a reservation. I come back at my reserved time, everything was fine. They sat us at a communal table, but we decided to move to the bar. This was probably the worst mistake we could make. There were two bartenders and not one greeted us. One bartender finally gave us a menu and two half full glasses of water. I order a drink, no recommendations, no hello, nothing...and I still don't know his name . We get there at 8pm and we order a few apps while I drink my cocktail. Calamari, a salad and bruschetta. I finish my drink and the empty glass just sits there, while the bartender constantly walks past us. I know he sees us and the empty glass, because we're sitting directly in front of the dishwasher which he already filled twice. The other bartender was making drinks for the rest of the restaurant, but this guy was the worse. 8:25 he finally ask if I would like another drink. Still no food. We only ordered apps. 8:37 I ask can he check on the apps, he says let him finish preparing a drink and he'll go check. He finish making that drink and then he makes another one. We're still waiting, 2 drinks in. 8:43 I ask for the check and tell him to cancel the food. He then has the audacity to act like he's upset because we didn't receive the food. He didn't go check not one time, nor inform a manager. Then he charges me for both drinks, no apologies, no manager came to see how to address the problem. And while I wait on the check, pay the check, sign the check the food still did not come out. The bar wasn't that busy, probably 80% full, but this service was so horrible. I would never come back here, or recommend anyone to come here. If you're going to ask for upper east side prices for quality food, you should go to a quality restaurant with quality service, which is exactly what we did when we left this disaster of a restaurant. read more
