Only had the coconut mocha latte and it was divine! If you love, strong coffee, this is actually pretty good as they use Illy coffee. Very quaint spot in the morning for breakfast or by the veranda for lunch with the sun. The croissants and morning type pastries are right behind you as you walk to the counter. We went last night for the first time to have some Pizza. It had to be the worst Pizza I've ever had in my life and I've had a lot of Pizza. The crust was doughy and soft. You almost had to eat it with a knife and fork, because it didn't hold the Pizza up and the outer crust was so chewy. It was like eating a rubber band, it was just awful. We got 2 pizzas, the Regina and the Butcher, both had the same floppy/chewy crust. We also got a pasta dish that was linguini with short ribs sauce that was pretty good and our appetizer, the meat and cheese plate was very good, but pizza was terrible absolutely terrible. I didn't even bring it home. I ate one piece , and they asked if we wanted it boxed up and said no. They didn't even ask why we didn't eat it and was there something wrong with it, they just took it away and tossed it. We asked the couple sitting at the table next to us how they liked their Pizza, and they had the same opinion said the Pizza dough was awful, so it wasn't just us. The servers were very nice and they were pretty attentive. However, it was very slow. It took so long to get every course out from the kitchen. I really don't know what was going on because it didn't appear to be crazy busy. They do have a gelato bar inside and their gelatos very good, but I would never recommend going here for Pizza. Went Valentine's Day for lunch. Yes it was packed. Our server was extremely busy with all the tables however, I do feel the inside tables were neglected more than outside. Especially the ones sitting towards the kitchen. Barely saw her inside. We got the Diavola pizza. The salami saved the pizza. The sauce was good, cheese was good, salami was great. However, the pizza dough lacked! They need to crisp up that dough. It was soggy and too soft. Almost felt like a pita bread. The Burrata with tomato confit was good. Although the bread that was "toasted" was still soft. Would've been better if they really toasted the bread. I don't know what they have against toasting up their doughs. What saved my lunch date was the pasta Rollatine Alla Mirella. Great flavor all around. The eggplant was cooked perfectly not mushy at all. I would recommend this dish to try. I'm really disappointed. My fiance and I made a reservation for a rehearsal brunch at this restaurant. When we arrived, they seated us outside in the patio. We asked if we could be seated inside and we did not mind if we didn't get seated together. There were many open tables, enough to sit everyone. A staff member said that we would fill up the inside, but would ask the manager. We are customers that are paying the bill as well. We made a reservation. The manager said they couldn't accommodate us inside. It was not communicated to us that we would be seated outside. We would have selected a different restaurant if we had known because we knew it would be really hot outside and we wouldn't want our guests to sit in the heat. After asking again, they were able to accommodate a table of 12 inside for the elderly and children. But again, there were enough tables open for the rest of us. It ruined our celebration. This place is usually our go-to spot when we're around Temecula. Stopped by on a Saturday night around 8:00 pm and was seated right away. I ordered the carbonara and hubs ordered their daily special scallops with a citrus risotto. We also ordered a taleggio pizza (prosciutto, Mozzarella and taleggio cheese) for appy. Pizza came first. Dough was a little too soft for our liking, but that's how they make their pizza so it was fine. The carbonara (a usual order for us) unfortunately didn't quite meet expectations this night. Chef definitely overcooked the eggs and it simply made the dish clumpy. Hubs wanted me to return it, and yes, in hindsight I should have, but we didn't. I was hungry and didn't want to wait any longer. Sadly, I couldn't even finish it. The scallop dish was good, unfortunately the risotto seemed to have been premade and the integrity and structure just wasn't up to par. The music that night was too loud and everyone was just trying to talk above it. Will we come back? Probably. But not anytime soon. P.S. I forgot to add that we had a large cannoli for dessert and a couple of espresso macchiatos. The coffee was the best part of the meal. Compliments to the barista that night. read more

The pizza was cooked on their beautiful wood fired oven. The dough was amazing, just like my brother in law from Naples makes. So... I'm back in Old Town Temecula for some real Italian style food. Decided to check out this Italian restaurant called Bottega Italia. All their ingredients are fresh and imported from Italy. It's a big plus for me. I mean, who doesn't love fresh and imported food from Italy?? Food: Suppli (Risotto filled with fresh mozzarella, breaded and fried, served with sugo di pomodoro) Linguine Ai Frutti Di Mare (Fresh mussels, clams, calamari, and shrimp in a red tomato sauce) Tiramisu Gelato in martini cup Drink: Rossini Suppli.... it's a first for me. I've had risotto before, but not this kind though. I actually liked the idea a breaded and fried risotto which by the way was tasty. Heavenly good. Linguine Ai Frutti Di mare.... normally I don't eat mussels, clams, and calamari very often. It's very rare that I eat those items. Because it's all fresh, it's an exception for me. I took a bite of the mussel, oh man, it's sooooo good. then clam, and then calamari, oh and shrimp. Seafood in pasta really make it so good. And for the dessert, Tiramisu gelato in martini cup. And oh boy, did they make this one fresh too? I can tell right away it was a tasty dessert I've had in a while.... especially in the martini cup. Oh, and Rossini is good too. No other comment at this time. Service was great too. Overall, while I'm still waiting to try a real Italian restaurant, Bottega Louie, this restaurant is close enough for me. We ordered suppli which we both thought was an excellent portion, but unseasoned on the inside. The tomato sauce that came with it was super tasty. For the entree we decided to share a pizza and the bolognese. I forgot which pizza it was but it started with a P and was supposed to have arugula on top. Ours came without arugula and some heavily charred basil instead. We ended up not staying anything about the arugula because the rest of the pizza tasted good. The crust was perfection! Chewy but not tough and not too charred. The bolognese is where we came into trouble. The pizza was dropped off first, but the homestead dropped off the bolognese to the table next to us. The server told her it was supposed to come to us and she, without apologizing or any time frame, said she'd get us another one. We had already finished the pizza, our drinks, and had our suppli packed up way before the bolognese even got there. So we asked for it to go and the check. We also had a tough time tracking down our waiter when I wanted to order a drink after our initial sit down. I would go back because I liked the vibe and thee are other things I'd like to try. Stopped by here on our way back from San Diego and we had a delightful experience. We started with the frittura di paranza which had a little more variety than your typical calamari. For our mains we had the bolognese and the halibut special. The fish was cooked perfectly; its sauce, accompanying vegetables, all of it. YUM. Our server was Bonnie, who was working by herself for the majority of our meal. Despite that, with several patrons in the restaurant, she was still able to provide us with 5-star service. Mind you she was clearing tables, running plates, mixing drinks, and even scooping gelato! We had the table nearest to the door but with all of the windows, natural light, and open space it felt very inviting and gave our kiddos a little area to play in without getting in the way of anyone. We dined for lunch and breakfast over a couple of days during Christmas season. The food was delicious! Pizza was thin with a rustic crust and tasty sauce. Portion of salad was very generous: I liked the combination of canned tuna, grilled corn, tomatoes and egg with balsamic dressing. The breakfast was super filling: ricotta omelet, American-style breakfast and chilaquiles nourished us until late afternoon. I would only suggest reducing the amount of tortilla chips in chilaquiles, it over-powered all other ingredients, I simply removed two thirds of chips, because it was a lot. The service was friendly and the atmosphere - very festive: bright, spacious and clean. We also tried gelato and cornettos with coffee, both tasted as if home-made. We visited Bottega Italia last month and had a good enough experience that I decided to return today for a simple family lunch. Unfortunately, the service was extremely disappointing this time. The restaurant was not busy, yet the Caesar salad served to us had old, wilted leaves and had to be exchanged. Our server, Nicole, was polite but did not communicate any delays or check in on the table. It took about 35 minutes just to prepare a pizza, and we were left without any updates. When I asked if the pizza was ready, I was told it was. However, when I walked over to the preparation area, I could clearly see the pizza was only just being started. Even my ticket, which came out to about $111, felt like it went completely down the drain because the experience was so poor from start to finish. What should have been a simple family lunch turned into unnecessary frustration. I hope Bottega Italia addresses these issues promptly, because based on today's visit, it is very difficult to consider returning. read more

If you love Espresso Martinis, this is your place. Everybody has them now, but very few places make them correctly and Bottega does it right. We got the Bolognese and Napoletana pizza. Both were delicious but the pizza was fantastic. Very light and doesn't leave a heavy feeling of fullness afterwards. It doesn't come with cheese, so be sure to ask for it if you want cheese on the Napoletana. Great service, lovely ambiance and indoor/outdoor seating. Will definitely be back! read more

You can also get gelato, bake goods and coffee. Janna was our server and she was wonderful. She brought us complimentary bread with a plate of olive oil and vinegar. I ordered the seafood linguine ($28) and bolognese ($28). The bolognese was missing something for me like anchovies. I also think fettuccine was not the right pasta, should be bucatini or penne that's hallow to soak up the sauce for every bite. The seafood linguine had more flavor than the bolognese. This place is popping with people able to just pick up gelato in an Old Town area. The sit down food was great! The pizza we got ( La Tartufata) was one of the best pizza I ever had. The dough was fluffy but sturdy, and the cheese was so good. We also go to calamari as the app, and I appreciate that it was not oily and just breaded a little bit. This was a very good app and this and the pizza are items that I would come back for. We also got 2 pasta as the main and they were both solid options. With an in house gelato area, we were able to order dessert to our table and it was a good way to conclude the meal! The location is primed in the Old Town and is a nice location for people to gather. The parking is many (side streets and parking lot section) though it is a packed area. The restaurant was very busy and that made service slower, but overall the service was very nice. Overall, I loved the set up of the restaurant and the food was great here. The service at the dessert counter was excellent and dessert items well prepared. The dining area and outside area were both available for seating. We decided to eat outside because it was a wonderful day. The tiramisu was delicious and halfway through, I felt something in my mouth as I was chewing. I thought it may be a chocolate shaving but it wasn't melting. I picked it out of my mouth and realized it was a piece of plastic. Of all the days to give this place another shot too, how unfortunate. I have a pretty strong stomach so things like this don't make me sick but definitely will turn me off. I'd rather find plastic than a hair in my food any day. Food is wrapped or stored in plastic so it's not surprising. I was just trying to figure out how this could have happened. Did a piece of plastic get cut off when opening an ingredient to make this dessert or did it happen to fall in during the mixing process? It was embedded in the dessert and wasn't exposed until eaten. Did I finish the dessert? Yeah I did. I have a major sugar addiction and plastic is plastic. I know, I'm weird. Would I come here again?
