Best pasta and risotto in Old Town. The ambiance is great with the wine bar and cafe feel, and the bakery and gelato bar (with free samples). Rotating cannoli flavors are a must try. On a Friday night, we had good service, and the food did not disappoint, being our third visit. We had the veal with saffron risotto. Marinara was on point with its intense tomato flavor, which went well with the soft meat of the veal. The yellow rice was not overpowering and benefited well from the parmigiana (?) cheese ground on top: this rice was a nice reprieve from the intensity of meat portion with its sauce, allowing the palate bounce back and forth without tiring. The special was the fantastically tasty crab ravioli. Four giant pieces were advertised as an appetizer, but they were so ginormous, it could have been an entree by itself. The crab filling seemed like the real thing and was a refreshing deviation from the standard cheese fill. Definitely recommend if it ever pops up on the menu. Our daughter ate two! Finished off with a chocolate cannoli and gelato. Can't say I'm a huge fan of chocolate flavored filling for my cannoli, but it was still very good. They rotate flavors, so always worth checking out. Last visit was pistachio only. This go round, there was one left, and it was chocolate. Overall, out number one Italian restaurant in Temecula Valley, and definitely one to check out when you're in Old Town for dinner. Outdoor heaters also available for outdoor seating. read more

Their food is amazing and service is great - will not disappoint! +located close to the entrance of old town Temecula. +restaurant has amazing cocktails, scrumptious Italian food, and amazing gelato for dessert! We went on Friday around 730 or 8pm and we were seated in 15 mins without a reservation +our group ordered few cocktails. All of the cocktails were so IG worthy and tasty! I forgot what we ordered but please refer to our pictures +for food, we ordered la rosa verde, taleggio (bianche/white pizza), spaghetti alla scoglio, and ossobucco alla Milanese. I didn't expect myself to like Rosa verde salad but it was so good! I usually prefer savory salad but I really liked the Gorgonzola cheese with pear pairing. My favorite item of the night had to be spaghetti alla scolglio--ima sucker for seafood and tomato sauce pasta. The bianche pizza with prosciutto balanced our tomato pasta and it was also super tasty. -everyone in our group wasn't a fan of the ossobucco alla milanese (veal risotto). I personally didn't like that it was so veal heavy / meaty and the risotto was super overpowered. Some of my girlfriends thought the risotto was too hard. Haven't been here in some time. The wine (can and pinot noir) was delicious, the arancini appetizer was amazing. I got the swordfish special and it was super salty. It had tapenade covering it and I thunk it was just way to much. My husband got the linguine al frutti di mare and it was way better than my dish but there were bites that were a bit salty. We also got connolis to go (chocolate chips and pistachio) they were yummy although it would have been nice to have the chocolate chips or pistachios mixed into the cream instead of all just on the ends. We got these to go and you need to eat them soon as they start to get soggy. The service was notice and the outside seating was wonderful given the beautiful evening. read more

Came here bc me and my friends are craving for gelato. The gelato were very delicious however, the lady there was very rude. Her tone and manners were very unpleasant. Especially towards us. The only good thing about this restaurant was the server, who busted her butt to service walk-in coffee and gelato customers and attend to those of us with dinner reservations. We sat at the bar and ordered the special crab ravioli, which seemed like it might have been frozen, and the homemade pizza, which was unfortunately overcooked. I had the Napoletana pizza which has thin slices of garlic and a couple of basil leaves on each slice, I ordered it with the cauliflower crust, very flavor except my crust came just a little too toasted, the char was stronger tasting than the sauce and toppings. Excellent service from my waiter and service was fast. There was this young man who kept strolling around the dining room, looked like he didn't have anything to do. My first visit to Temecula and my first stop was Bottega and I am so glad it was! This cute little place reminds me of like an ice cream parlor, meets a diner, meets a hip bar. lol We stopped in on a Monday at around 1pm I think and we sat at the small bar by ourselves. I am all about special holiday cocktails around the holiday and this place did not disappoint! This 5 star review though is really for the bartender that helped us, ROCHELLE! She was simply the best. It is such a pleasure when you get a super nice bartender, that knows their stuff AND is willing to talk to you and come up with some fantastic drink on the fly! This is Rochelle. She was simply just a joy to be around. We shared a pizza that was amazing... totally forgot to take a photo of it! ugh!!!! VERY good! It was a spur of the moment and we thought of dropping by for an early bf out at this place. Pretty much empty and no customer yet (has only 2 employees at that moment). A blond lady was the one who took our orders at the counter and advised her that we were "dining in". After a few moments..., our order came in. Enjoyed all of it, it was delish! A few things that turned me off were my coffee was not in the mug and placed in a to-go cup. Then after eating, I decided to order their mouth-watering pastries for to-go. Walked at the counter and waited, hoping the same lady at the counter would notice me even though I was just in front of her. She seemed too preoccupied with what she was doing, (multi-tasking) and I felt that I was disturbing her unpacking and stacking all of the new items that she needed to put on the shelves. But I don't wanna leave without trying them... (hope the picture will do justice once I give a tasting test later today). It looks very tempting! But, don't be surprised with your bill..., as there's no price tag on display. So, then after she boxed my pastries, she seemed in a hurry and didn't hand it over to me but put it on the counter, never thanked nor smiled. Maybe, she hasn't got a sip of their flavorful coffee yet. Surprisingly the guy behind the counter (the chef), cleaned up our plate... With a smile, and greeted me before walking away. Although not a gluten free establishment, any of their wide selection of pizzas and pastas can be ordered gluten free. We got the butchers pizza and the GF crust was delicious. For dessert, they have a variety of gelato and a flourless chocolate cake which are also gluten free. Everything we ordered was delicious and didn't feel like the gluten free options were an after thought from the restaurant. Our server Rochelle was also very knowledgeable on the menu. The owners have multiple businesses and each of them are amazing, but Bottega is in an ideal location and has a bakery section with freshly made gelato! Literally everything on the menu is great. I'm sorry to say but tonight 2/8 it was horrible. Starting with not having 2 drinks that I ordered, then no water since they had plumbing issues, we had to purchase water, okay it's fine we will purchase water, I did have to ask 3 times for water, I had to ask 4 times for bread. 1 hour into dinner and still no bread, we where told it was baking when finally the waiter brought the bread is was cold and hard, definitely not baked fresh like the lie I was told. Not sure what happened tonight I been there twice and the service and food is excellent. Definitely not going back. Thank you for ruining my wife's birthday celebration! First of all, made reservations a week prior for indoor seating - was told it would not be a problem. When we checked in the hostess told me that they do not seat parties of 6 or more inside and that we would be seated outside - STRIKE 1. When seated we were told that they had plumbing issues and that they only had bottled water - oh by the way $3.00 each - STRIKE 2! We then asked to speak to a manager - no manager on site - that wasn't SRIKE 3, it was close.. I went inside to use the restroom and saw a table of 10 seated inside. I asked the same hostess who had earlier told me they don't seat parties of 6 or more inside why and she told me... "oh sorry we were completely booked" I mentioned to her that I had a reservation and she, basically, didn't respond - DEFINITE STRIKE 3!!! At that point we walked out and got better service and no lies elsewhere! read more

So our 1st experience was excellent, gave 5 stars and decided to celebrate my birthday here. It's my birthday weekend and we were surprised about everything, not in a good way. They sat us outside, tables are not covered with anything. They are having plumbing issues so they can't serve drinking water but instead they are providing bottled water for $3. Why can't the owners come with an alternative like buy water from Costco and give free bottled water. We asked for the manager, they don't have one. Asked for the owner, not onsite. Our server doesn't know what to do or say, feel sorry for him, it's not his fault. We ordered drinks instead of ordering $3 water, except for one and come to find out it's their own brand of water. True love!! It's the only way I can describe my relationship with Bottega Italia in Old Town Temecula. If you know where the Starbucks is in Old Town, you'll find Bottega a block down on the same side. I've been here twice now and parking can be tricky but usually there's always a spot on either side of the street. My first time was about 2 weeks ago with my JnC/OF buddy. This time around he got his Old Fashioned and I got a glass of Moscato. We were kinda sorta celebrating a lil somethin' somethin'... we tried to come here a week before but I didn't realize they were closed on Mondays! Bummer!! Our next attempt was on a Friday after work. We got in and were seated promptly inside. Pretty sweet for a 520ish arrival time without a reservation! The inside is a cute mix of a bakery/pizzeria/gelateria/coffee bar/restaurant with full service bar. There are tables and chairs indoors and out. Our table was nicely set up in the middle of the restaurant. I have to say the chairs are super comfy!! They're a bright green color with a soft, velvety plush feel that cradles you, so your tush is going to love it! If you are outside, you'll have hard chairs, so be warned, lol! Service was amazing as the staff checked on us often. We ordered their calamari appetizer which also comes with some shrimp. It was great and a good portion for sharing. We also got the La Tartufata Hand Tossed Pizza which was also great to share among 2 people. I never used to like thin crust pizzas but I am now a fan! I don't think these guys have a pizza I wouldn't like!! We didn't have time for dessert, but next time we may just come for a lil sweet treat. =) On my next visit, I came with a really good friend who is retiring from the U.S. Navy after 20 years of service. For dinner, we ordered their Risotto Ai Frutti Di Mare and the Boscaiola Pizza. YUMMMM!!! Both dishes were full of flavor and I love that they sprinkle parmesan on top if you so choose. That risotto was perfect in every way, and the presentation was sexy yet simple. It had a medley of shrimp, clams, mussels and calamari with a teeny bit of kick to it. You gotta try this dish! The pizza is always a winner. Not too big and not too small but always amazingly delish! I've yet to try l the other pizzas, haha! We did have leftovers but packed them up to go. We ordered dessert because duhhhh... everyone knows there is a separate compartment that always has room for dessert! LOL Pistachio cannoli and the salted butter caramel gelato in a cone...I can't even find words to describe these yummies!! Just freakin' go and get them both. TRUST! Side note: at this time they are not accommodating any special requests in the kitchen. We were going to order a different pizza that did not include mushrooms (which we wanted to add) but they couldn't add them, so we ended up choosing the Boscaiola. It was a great choice! We had also ordered 2 lattes before we were seated and those were perfect too! Taste, temperature, price and size were on point. I'll be trying out more of their lattes, especially the iced ones since the weather is warming up! Show some love and pop into Bottega Italia for a fine Italian dining experience with a date, friend, family or your guy/girl crew. It's kid-friendly and ADA/wheelchair accessible. Deep fried seafood, yum! Pizza, yum! Halibut and the greens, yum! Food was all good. Seafood was not rubbery and the marinara was well made. Pizza was good but with the thin crust it got soggy in the middle. Maybe we'll get it cooked an extra 2 minutes longer next time. The fish special of the day was Halibut. Cooked perfectly and the greens it was served with were delicious. Perfect amount of garlic and seasoning. Service was 100! Our server was super friendly and attentive. Unfortunately my experience yesterday was not what I expected, to say the least. I got off of work later than I had hoped but had already planned to go to dinner here with my boyfriend and my grandma. So we did show up 2 hours before closing, but figured we would be in and out within an hour if service went by smoothly. This is my first experience ever at this restaurant, and we were thoroughly expecting a good time since my grandmother came all the way from San Diego for this outing. To start, I'm not much of a wine connoisseur. My grandmother had asked for a specific kind of wine--and when it was brought to our table, we realized it was in fact NOT the wine we asked for. Which is totally okay, mistakes happen. But what followed next when we pointed out the fact that we were brought the wrong wine, the waitress instead argued with us that we had actually asked for the wine she brought, and that she didn't any mistake. And the wine she brought, I'm gonna honest, I can't even pronounce the word. So I don't know how on earth she heard whatever the hell that wine was But we let it go because we were trying to continue to have a decent night. The food was okay. We were never brought any bread or oil until we asked. But again genuinely I understand that end of night can be difficult so I wasn't going to complain. But obviously here I am. That's it for the food. But what really frustrated me is when we looked at the wine selection again, we realized the wine she had given us that was incorrect, was $40. When the wine we ASKED FOR WAS $8 The fact that she argued with us on her mistake is crazy. She brought out the wrong wine more than once, and then finally asked for clarification again on the wine we really wanted. I'm not really mad at the restaurant itself, just annoyed that staff is behaving strangely. Might be something in the wine she was trying to give us. Pray Gordon Ramsey never comes by and gets her as a waitress. I'm praying for y'all. Being Italian, I think I have a pretty good grasp of the cuisine, and to my knowledge, this is the best I've had in the Inland Empire.
