Second review for this restaurant. On our trip to the Ontario/Norco area, we stumbled across this place after a wine tasting tour in Temecula. We had dinner the first night, and decided to drive back to Temecula and have breakfast the next day. For the remainder of our trip, we ate breakfast and dinner here every day. A total of three dinners, two breakfasts. We met Destiny at breakfast, and couldn't have been more impressed. She was pleasant, engaging, attentive, and helpful. We had a fantastic experience, both breakfasts. The food was fantastic. well prepared and presented, and perfectly cooked. Perfect Italian coffee to accompany breakfast. Dinner was equally spectacular. Bonnie took care of us all three times, and she is perhaps the best server we have experienced. We had several different dishes each night, and all were fantastic. The Gorgonzola fig flatbread was the absolute star of the show. Best flatbread that we have had anywhere. We will definitely be back again on future trips to the area. It is one of those places that is worth the travel. If we find ourselves within a three or four hour radius of Temecula, this will be the place we go for dinner, or breakfast, or both. Gourmet Italia doesn't honor our reservation times so we decided to try the sister restaurant and it's definitely a different vibe. Food is just as good and we were seated only 7 minutes past our reservation time which is so much better than the hour past our reservations at the other one. This place was super cute. We were welcomed the moment we walked up. The staff was very friendly and had a great sense of humor which is a plus for me. The menu wasn't very big but looked tasty nonetheless. The kids and wife ordered pizza and I got the beef plate of the day which was a filet. I have three smokers and cook meat religiously. My favorite steak is mine generally as I have perfected it over the years. I have to say that this was probably the BEST filets I've ever had in my life. It was perfectly cooked medium rare. Perfect texture and melted in my mouth. The flavors were incredible. I was told they have a new executive chef and I passed on my praise. We will be back! I can't recommend this place enough! The restaurant and cafe has a casual dining atmosphere with counter and table service. The food menu seemed decent and varied, I didn't take a long look at it. I wish I had looked at the breakfast options, I'll have to check online. I am pretty sure this place serves breakfast lunch and dinner. From what I understand, the owner also has other Italian fine dining and pizza restaurants in the area. They have a beautiful wood fired pizza oven and a very Italian style clean bathroom with hot water! What I loved here was the macchiato and the service...we stopped in for a late night coffee and a biscotti. I would not hesitate to return, it's the next best thing to visiting a cafe in Italy, but nestled in the downtown Temecula Main Steet scene. I recently dined at Bottega and unfortunately had a disappointing experience involving the general manager, Cassie. My sister and I waiting over almost 40 min past our set reservation time, restaurant mixed up our order delaying us even more time to eat from our already very long delay in being sat, and lastly the bathroom had no soap or toilet paper....truly not really asking for much here. For a restaurant of this so called caliber, I expected a higher level of professionalism and guest care when we brought these concerns up to Cassie, the interaction left us feeling disrespected, dismissed, and upset. I hope her higher up management addresses this as the restaurant itself has potential, but the handling of this situation from Cassie fell well below fine-dining standards. We gave her room to make our experience right and she could have really cared less.....which was extremely unfortunate. read more

Busy holiday weekend in downtown. We were able to walk-into the restaurant with only a 25 minute wait for an inside table with a baby. The team was very accommodating and our server Bonnie was amazing. My family and I were touring Old Town Temecula and worked up an appetite for pasta. We checked out a few restaurants but pasta wasn't on their menu. Fortunately we found Bottega Italia, the food was phenomenal. We ordered Linguine al Frutti di Mare, which translates to " fruit of the sea" They definitely did not skimp on seafood! It included fresh clams, mussels, shrimp and calamari. It was savory, briny and not overly spicy. Also, we tried one of their hand tossed pizzas- The Butcher. I initially thought it would take at least 20 to 30 mins until it reached our table. But I just happened to notice their large brick oven with stacked wood logs breaking down into glowing embers. It probably took 60-90 sec to bake. The underside of the pizza had charred marks and the top had these darkened spots,like a leopard. Wow, the fresh mozzarella, married with the tomato sauce, spicy Italian salami & sausage, pepperoni and fresh basil. One of the best pizzas I've had in a long time. We completed our meal with their fresh tiramisu. We watched as she dusted the cocoa powder on the mascarpone, we just had to try it. The first bite was amazing! It was silky, cool, rich and velvety. Floors are very sticky! Please clean them!!! Green chairs are very stained and dirty. I regret not taking a photo of them. Do your business a favor and don't embarrass yourself with such dirty chairs!!! Black lanterns have not been deep cleaned in a long time and they are hanging over the tables with so much dust. Again, please clean them they are hanging over our food that you charge a premium for and can't even keep the business clean. Visited today with the friends in town we gave it a second try. Two table were seated and service was extremely slow. Our two pizzas sat by the pizza counter for like 10 minutes before I had to get up and ask them to bring it because we were staring at it being ready but it wasn't served. Had to ask for an extra plate and utensils a few times before the other waiter brought it immediately. Found this place on yelp and based on the reviews it was one that I thought would be a great place to try. I called to make reservations for a party of 7 and upon arrival, we waited for 5 mins and then seated to our table. The restaurant is decorated nicely and lots of lighting. I noticed that they have a few outdoor seating and I'm sure nice to sit at when the weather is nice and warm. Luckily this night, it wasn't too extremely busy, but I definitely can see how it would be especially during the weekend. I asked our server about favorites on the menu and she basically said that everything on the menu is good. We would not be disappointed on what we ordered. The portions are big. I was in the mood for pizza and my husband wanted spaghetti bolognese. We decided to share so we could have a taste of both and a friend couple of ours ordered the same thing. The birthday boy ordered the ribeye steak and he said it was delicious and cooked perfectly to his liking. My son ordered the gnocchi alla gorgonzolla dolce. He said it was ok and wished he had ordered a pizza instead. Overall, the food and service was great. I loved how their water didn't taste like tap water as I am really picky on how my water tastes.
