Holy crap. If you need a BBQ fix, try Botto's! I've been craving burnt ends for weeks now, and Botto's is the only (recommended) place I could find them on the menu, and they only offer them on Sundays. My family ordered a bunch of items, and the burnt ends & stuffed jalapeños were the stars. Both items tend to sell out, so place an order before you head over. They open at 12pm on Sundays, and the jalapeños were sold out by our pickup time of 1245, and the burnt ends by the time we were home at around 115 (I was looking on line for the sauce descriptions & noticed). My son was raving about his smash burger & spicy mac n cheese, while I found the regular mac n cheese to be nicely prepared with the noodles swimming in a delicious cheese sauce. I also had the Cole slaw, but this will be a pass for us going forward: there wasn't anything that made it special, and I'd actually prefer bagged cole slaw from the grocery store The space itself is pretty small & cramped, but it's the epitome of a BBQ joint. While the smell of smoking meats wasn't very strong outside, once you opened the door, it smacked you in the face & was absolutely heavenly! The two of us ordered online but didn't like the delivery options and decided to pick it up. My bro. had his days mixed up, so no brisket pastrami for us on a Wednesday if only it was Thursday. We ordered the lean brisket, pulled pork with sides of spicy mac n cheese, potato salad and coleslaw and of course the they thre in some house pickled red onions and jalapeño mix with some burnt ends for good measure. Everything was really good. The lean brisket was my favorite. I'll order regular fat next time. The spicy mac was good. The house pickled jalapeño and onions, wow. That's awesome and really hot. Botto's has been on my radar for awhile and I finally made it. We learned that the reviews are accurate! I made an order online, very easy. We decided o. 1/2 pound turkey, 1/2 pound brisket, 2 ranch chicken links, 1/2 pound spare ribs, Small baked mac and Small pork and beans. I arrived a few minutes before my order was to be ready. The restaurant has some seating inside with more outdoor options. No observable issues or concerns. They cut the meat upon arrival so I had a minimal wait. I got the food and headed home. The turkey (which I wouldn't normally get at a bbq place) was juicy and well flavored. The brisket was amazing! Juicy, tender and full of flavor. The ranch chicken links were also really good - bit of cheese mixed in, yum. The spare ribs were juicy and tender, not "fall off the bone " but really good. The baked mac was great, super cheesy and pasta well done. The pork and beans was ok, probably would not order next time. I'm seriously impressed and will be back to Botto's. read more

I was hungry. In fact, I was very hungry when I was in the neighborhood and suddenly remembered my boyfriend mentioned Botto's BBQ as a place that we should try. So, I stopped in and hoped for the best. It was about 2 pm on a Friday afternoon and there was no line (thank goodness!). I ordered the two-meat tray with rib and brisket, coleslaw, potato salad, tamarind sauce and bbq sauce as a staff member recommended. The meat tray came pretty quickly with with two slices of brisket and two pork ribs. I am happy to report both cuts were juicy and tender, yum! The pickles on the side were refreshing; I especially liked the pickled jalapeños as you don't often see them in restaurants. I enjoyed both sauces as they were not too tangy or sweet, just the right mix of sweet and sour. The potato salad was creamy and enjoyable as well. The only thing I wish was better was the coleslaw. It tasted a little bland and watery without enough creaminess and crunchiness. Next time I think I'll try the Mac n cheese instead. Overall, the food was good. It was a little pricey but that is the story everywhere nowadays. Next time I'm going to try the burnt ends! read more

Been wanting to try this place out for a long time and so glad we did today! It's a very unassumming spot right off the freeway; I thought it's closed for the longest time. Space is small but adequate with indoors and outdoors seatings. They're also minimally staffs so be patient if there's a wait. We got the Three Meat Tray with Turkey, Brisket Burnt Ends (Sunday special), and the Ribs. The tray came with two sides which we picked the Coleslaw and the Sweet Potatoes and Collard Greens. We also got to pick three sauces. Super happy with our choice because we got to try a bunch of stuffs and it's the perfect amount for two people. The Turkey was nice and moist, could have been a tad smokier but overall pretty good. The ribs were very well-seasoned and cooked. Nice flavorful crust on the outside while very tender on the inside. The Burnt Ends were a treat! Sauce was luscious but not overly sweet. Meat is on the dry side here though. For the sides, get the Sweet Potatoes and Collard Greens! Never had this combo before and it's amazing. The sweetness of the potatoes and the earthiness of the collard greens pair super well together. Coleslaw was also refreshing and crunchy. We came to try the smash burger I saw on instagram. The burger we ordered was supposed to be a double patty smash burger. It was not a "smash burger" it was similar to a standard backyard BBQ burger. It was good but I was disappointed that it's called a smash burger but it's not. Maybe I should have ordered the single burger. The single burgers that came out of the kitchen looked like smash burgers. The service was fine. The person at the register was a little frustrated we didn't see the "out of crinkle fries" note when we ordered crinkle fries. We were fine with it and ordered Cole slaw which was delicious.. This restaurant is a BBQ restaurant I should have ordered Ribs not a burger. The BBQ I watched coming out of the kitchen looked AMAZING. The atmosphere of the restaurant is really casual. No table service you order at the counter. The checkered table cloths are cute and look easy to clean. They have a variety of alcoholic beverages, hard, wine and beer. Go visit if you love BBQ. Bottos is my favorite BBQ spot in town. I've been here so many times I've lost count. The meats are tender and not dry. I really like their brisket and pork belly burnt ends. They have weekly specials of different meats including the ones they serve everyday. They also have really good side options especially the spicy mac and potato salad. I usually come here for the meat trays but the last few visits I've been ordering from their bar menu. I usually get the original smash burger which is $5 for a single patty. They also have a bunch different sauces to choose from. All of them are good but the spicy white is my favorite. Ribs 9/10 Brisket 8/10 Unfortunately the brisket didn't live up to that expectation but the ribs made up for it. The sides were great and I had to get some more to go! I really think Botto's BBQ currently serves the best bbq brisket in Portland. Honestly there used to be a ton of options for brisket but a lot of them have closed now for various reasons but Botto's has been legit the 3 times I've had it. All 3 meals weren't necessarily consistent in terms of quality but I'd say they were all still solid to exceptional meals each time. I typically come during dinner hours and usually by then...they have sold out of a few items, so I'd strongly recommend this place for lunch rather than dinner to have access to their full menu. The mac and cheese was decent and their crack pie was really tasty and indulgent. I've had better brisket before but Botto's definitely holds it down. I feel like my brisket might have been a little too close to the heat source today bc a small portion of it was a tad dry and stringy like a beef jerky but outside of that edge of the brisket...the rest was delicious. We have been attempted to finding great BBQ in Portland, and we have found it. Wow. The service and food were perfect at Botto's. First off, I called the restaurant to inquire about the location the day before we wanted to visit, and Kevin was quite helpful and encouraged us to order in advance to ensure Bott0's had the food we wanted when we arrived, as he admitted they run out of certain items in the evening. I called the restaurant the next day, and again Kevin assisted me and the order was placed for 5:00. When we came to the restaurant, I noticed it only has four tables inside and more outside when the weather warrants it. We had perfect timing as a table was open, and the food could not have been better. The ribs were incredibly tender and the brisket was so tasty. The mac 'n cheese was an excellent side as well. We were just okay on the Cole Slaw. Next time we will try the potato salad. The Shiner bottles were also the perfect beverage. Drove by and saw Botto's BQ sign. Love BQ! We arrived around 5:30P. They are open until 8, but many items were sold out. They list on a chalkboard items that are sold out. We decided on a 3 meat tray to share. I was craving ribs, but when we got to the front of the line...they were sold out! We decided on the brisket, pulled pork and sausage link. Once again they told us they just sold the last sausage. We ended up with double brisket and pulled pork. The 3 meat tray comes with 2 sides. Hubby made a mistake and thought it came with 3 sides. More on that later. The brisket was moist and tender. Nothing special about the pulled pork. We ordered double baked mac and cheese and cole slaw. The mac and cheese was disappointing. I was expecting a mac and cheese type casserole with panko or bread crumb topping. This was just a cup of mac and cheese. Although I will admit it was very creamy. I wouldn't order it again. We went outside to wait on the patio while they prepared our food. A few minutes passed and the cashier came and told us they were sold out of cole slaw...and could they replace with potato salad. We said okay...until I realized hubby had made a mistake and ordered an extra side. I went in and told the cashier I wanted to cancel the potato salad since that was not what we really wanted. The cashier said no problem..just keep the potato salad. She said I'll give you a credit by the end of the night. I tried to show her my receipt, but she said it wasn't necessary. It's been over a month and I've never received a credit. I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt. The potato salad was good so I don't have a problem paying for it. But you shouldn't tell a customer you are going to give them credit and not follow through. All in all the food was good. I know better to go early next time. read more
