was really disappointed with my experience at this Boudin location in Irvine. We ordered a French Dip, a Mediterranean sandwich, clam chowder, and chicken chowder. The bag was even labeled "HOT," but everything arrived cold. The sandwiches lacked freshness, and the soups were cold enough that they needed to be reheated. For the price we paid, I expected much better quality and attention to detail. We're staying at the nearby hotel while our apartment is being repaired, so we were hoping for a comforting meal. Instead, it ended up being one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences we've had in a long time. I don't usually leave negative reviews, but serving cold food that is supposed to be hot is not acceptable. I hope management addresses the food quality and temperature control so other customers have a better experience than we did.

First time coming to this location. Ordered the half Turkey avocado sandwich and clam chowder soup. Both were delicious. Love how soft their breads are and it's baked fresh daily. Service was good. Will be back again soon. Parking lot is shared with Charles Schwab and Marriott Residence Inn. You can order at the front or use the kiosk.

Whenever I forget to bring lunch to the office, Boudin is my go-to spot! This location is centrally located, but parking can be a bit of a hassle. I usually mobile-order my items which is easy and convenient. Everyone is friendly and food is always good! The restaurant itself is a bit small and will be pretty packed if you show up after 12:30. Now I'm craving a sandwich!

I have been to other locations Boudin is a great option for sandwiches and soup bowls. They have other menus items which included an assortment of breads, cookies and pastries. For thanksgiving they have sourdough stuffing and breads that are shaped like turkey's available. Service is quick. You can place your order through a kiosk or with a cashier. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Good choice for a lunch meeting or to catch up with friends. Parking is available in lot.

Listen I am a massive sucker for San Francisco sourdough. In this case I happen to know the brand Boudin is from San Francisco and so I was super excited and convinced my friends that this is where we were going to have lunch. They happily agreed and we all went overboard. I even bought a baguette that I ended up bringing home with me on the plane which is kind of funny and frankly by the time it got home it was hard which was sad. I was in town for a conference though so it kind of makes sense cuz all food was provided for in the conference. Back to the review of the restaurant.. The location was very clean and it was very clear that you walked up to the register and or the mobile kiosks and placed your order. In my case I wanted to speak to the attendant at the register and he was super nice and friendly even though he was super young. And didn't really understand customer service frankly however he was super friendly. Said he couldn't answer most of my questions but that was okay. I got a flatbread pizza strangely a baguette and a bread bowl of soup. The soup came out hot and honestly it was just fantastic to dip the bread into the soup and eat it that way that's my favorite way to eat it and it was broccoli cheddar soup which was very good. Not as good as Panera but definitely very good. The pizza was just average don't waste your time with that this is obviously not a pizza place in the dough didn't even taste like sourdough. The sandwiches that my friends got were also fantastic. The bathrooms were clean the dining room was clean the self-service beverage area was clean. I didn't order a beverage but I was able to get a glass of water very easily and they were super friendly about the whole thing. When we needed boxes they were generous with them and had no problem giving us butter to go with our bread.

Every time I come here I have a mediocre experience but this last time it reminded me why I don't frequent this place more. Ordered a half sandwich and soup combo. When I walked back to my office to have my lunch the sandwich was awful! Not only was the bread over toasted but the also smeared half of a brown avocado on the sandwich. The absolute worse! Will never eat here again

Stopped by to pick up bread to bring home and eat with dinner. There was a couple customers in front of me, but the line moved quickly. I ordered a sourdough loaf to go, and the friendly cashier asked if I wanted it sliced or whole. I usually request sliced, bc they run it thru a machine and every slice is uniformly cut. Fresh Boudin's sourdough bread is always delicious. It is crunchy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. You can eat it straight out of the bag if it's fresh, but otherwise, a quick toast in the oven makes it good as new. It also freezes very well if you can't finish it right away.

Definitely recommend eating this with the house hot sauce, it takes the flavors to a whole other level. Swiss connection is now a whopping $10.5. highway robbery it is. But the bread is still unmatched for pillowy cheweyness (hot will get u a crisped exterior so always go for hot). Carrot n Daikons baguette would be my second for bread but their bread is thin flakey fall apart outside with a more airy pillowy interior. most important. do not say no to the mustard and whatever the other thing they ask if is ok to put in. the LeDIP experience is a whole deal ok. it's all or nothing. just like it should be in normal restaurants ok, like the shirt shoes and pants requirement? all or nothing. if you went to a restaurant without pants, you would not experience the experience as it was intended. take it all or leave empty handed ok? unless you're actually allergic to something. but like are u living if you miss out on the perfect combo of savory and cutting sourness? i acquired an allergy to shrimp and once a year i'll still boiling crab a lb of shrimp and just premedicate on Benadryl hoping i don't die. oh it's so good. god it itches so bad. ah so succulent. whole experience! hot french connection- can i eat this first please? oh my god i don't think i ever appreciated the soft pillowy softness of the baguette in my younger years. the outside crust is the thinnest crisp and yields immediately (unlike Lee's Trashwiches where the stale crust cuts the roof of your mouth). Simple sandwich but sometimes the best things are the simple things. Cold Swiss Connection - the only reason i get it cold is cuz this is my breakfast & lunch for the next day. so no point in melting it prematurely. i honestly can't decide between the two, so i just get both. the difference is Swiss cheese here vs the brie in the french. update-its like 10.5 now cry. and get it hot! i was wrong! it ooooozes Parking - shared with the whole center, plenty. Payment - cash, credit chip 5, or venmo? No Pay unfortunately. Credit chip wouldnt read my card either, took 3 tries, and u need to manually hold it down cuz its not secured so....not really contactless. '26 theyve modernized, apple pay now accepted so yayy. I'd rate the Peruvian Steak an 8.5/10. The bread was perfectly toasted, the mustard added just the right amount of kick, and all of the flavors complemented each other well. It would have been a perfect 10/10 if one side of the bottom bun hadn't been completely soggy from the mustard spilling out of the sandwich. I ordered my sandwich to go, so if I had waited until I got home to eat it, I think the entire bottom of the sandwich would have been soggy. That was disappointing. For to-go orders, I think Mendocino Farms should automatically serve the mustard in a separate sauce container to help prevent this issue. My other qualm was with the pickup process. When I received the text that my order was ready, it read: "Your order at Mendocino Farms - 10 - UC Irvine is ready for pickup. Please proceed to the counter." Some restaurants have signs explaining whether customers should grab their to-go orders themselves or wait for a team member to assist them. I waited patiently at the counter for several minutes while a team member saw me standing there but didn't acknowledge me. After about five minutes, I finally asked, "Can I grab my order?" The process felt confusing and could have been communicated more clearly. Overall, I thought the sandwich was delicious and a great portion size. However, I think the to-go process could use some improvement. I ended up eating my sandwich in the restaurant because I could already see the bread becoming soggy when I picked it up, which wasn't part of my original plan.
