Outstanding breakfast. French bread was amazing. Feel free to visit but get there before 10 AM since it does get crowded.

best bread, pastries, and French fries in Puerto rico. nothing else even comes close. been coming here for almost twenty years, and will keep coming. however, their "regular" menu items suck. the baker, that is the owner, is outstanding, and I have been to France many times. However, the cook is really bad. He simply cannot be the cook. If u had to eat here, I would just order the fries and french wine, the workers are really nice, especially that Portuguese guy. the owner is a star baker but a failed cook. the affluent Condado diners are either desperate or ignorant. read more

We drank coffee, and ate french toast, egg omelettes, eggs, bacon and i don't know what else but the pastry was next door and within the same building. The wait time is usually long, the tables are very crowded considering Covid-19. However, the food was great and would come back just for the food, tho the service was extremely slow. If you have no plans for the day and time isn't something you must be worried about then highly recommend. read more

Billed as ""Boulangerie Bistro", this faux French restaurant falls short on both counts. Tried it for a late breakfast with my wife and ordered their Eggs Benedict. The acidic Hollandaise topped an insipid pair of eggs that left you wanting in every way. The wife's quiche was equally uninspired for a restaurant bordering on pretentiousness. The decor is simple and nice, and the servers were prompt and attentive. I had heard good comments about this place, and I am left wondering if this was the chef's day off. Still, Eggs Benedict on a French Bistro calls for tasty farm-fresh eggs, not boxed factory cackle. As a bakery, you have a large selection of small and pricey breads to choose from. This was one of the places I enjoyed the most on vacation! We first went for a sit-down breakfast and had one of their egg dishes along with hot chocolate which was perfectly made and delicious. We also decided to try pastries to-go which ended up being some of the best pastries I have ever had. We literally could not get enough of them so we came back every day remaining in our trip and got pastries for breakfast. Love this place! read more

This review is for breakfast only as we have not visited for dinner - yet! The eggs Benedict and Florentine were delicious and the coffee was nice and strong but not burnt. Their croissant are freshly made in house- which is fantastic- and they have a proper French bakery on site making fresh baguettes and boulles daily. This is one of my favorite restaurants in the island, although I have only been here and ordered from here for brunch purposes. La Boulangerie has never disappointed me, the food is always fresh and delicious and the orange juice tastes fresh because it is actually made from locally sourced oranges and it is home made at the restaurant kitchen. The desserts, there are plenty of options and my favorite is the quesito, which have always been a local staple. We went to this french style bakery for breakfast on the last day of our PR trip, and it was a warm send off that we received! Though we were in a hurry to catch the flight, we quite enjoyed the french toast and the eggs benedict that we had ordered. Their bakery section looked sooo appealing that i wanted to buy everything and take away home! However i managed to get a bread stuffed with artichokes and sun dried tomatoes. Supposedly the best place for bread in San Juan. It was decent, but I've had better. We ordered croissant, pain au chocolat, coffee and sourdough. The croissant had a glaze on it, which made the top too flaky but hard. The taste was good still, buttery sweet as it's supposed to be. The pain au chocolat was much better and good not-too-sweet chocolate inside. The coffee was good, but having just had some cofffee at Hacienda San Pedro, there was no comparison. The sourdough had good texture but wasn't sour enough. It was right around the corner from our apartment rental, and we'd probably go there again just for proximity reasons if we stay there again in the future. read more

This place used to be my favorite! We went there for brunch and it wasn't as good anymore. I ordered Eggs Benedict and my yolks were over cooked. Talk about a let down! The waitress asked me to take it back but I was starving and we had been waiting for a bit. The place was full. Everybody else's breakfast was done right. Oh and the potatoes that came with my eggs benedict were amazing! My mom's sandwich, the fougasse, did not have basil (it's suppose to). When she noticed she told the waitress. The waitress went out of her way and went to their garden to get basil. Service was excellent!! And their mimosas are lovely!! With fresh OJ!!! We went there around 12:30 PM. Parking was packed as well as the restaurant inside. The gentleman at the parking was very nice and customer service oriented. Once inside, the story was different... We waited about 5 minutes in the Wait-to-be-seated area. The "host" and two other employee looked at us from the other side of the restaurant, but nobody approached us to greet us or tell us anything. After about five more minutes, one of my companions went to the counter on the other side of the room and asked them why nobody has gone and greeted us. The man said it was because there were no tables available. My party asked how long would it be until one is available. The man said he didn't know and didn't made any customer service oriented comments or approach. We left! Don't plan on going back again! Maybe they are racists and don't want black people in their restaurant or maybe they think they have so many customers that they think that losing a few new customers wont make a difference. I love this place! The onion soup is excellent! I have never eaten a plate I didn't like. The homemade breads and desserts are first rate.

Gave this a try, and was unfortunately disappointed. The best part of the meal was the lentil soup, but unfortunately it came in the bowl that they serve the French onion soup in and it had baked on cheese still on the rim from a previous patron. Escargot were subpar, with a bread resembling a hamburger bun that wasn't toasted. The stuffed chicken was completely dried out, and the prosciutto within the chicken was inedible. Service was absent through the experience. Lunch took an hour and a half. The check 15 minutes, as our server was preoccupied cleaning the coffee machine in preparation for end of service. If you are looking for a good lunch, or semi authentic French experience this spot is not for you. read more

Disappointed I wanted some French cuisine and had previously gone to La boulangerie, so I returned. I ordered the daily special which was a chicken drumstick and thigh with some fancy French name. When it was brought to the table by a very polite waiter, I was very surprised. It was basically chicken fricassee "Pollo guisado," with red rice and a salad. Just ate lunch with my husband. The veal was exquisite!! Tiramisu was excellent & lemon tart very good however too sweet for my taste. Overpriced small portion of ribeye was served with decadent au gratin potatoes with unremarkable salad and an unwelcomed gravy. The steak was however, cooked to perfection. My friend had lasagna which was a mammoth portion and our native friend ate bouillabaisse to her hearts content. Our waiter was very impatient and harsh towards us. He also didn't know about most things we asked about on the menu. I asked about a few pictures and he had no idea what was what. I have been in this place on several occasions for breakfast and one time for lunch. I absolutely love the food. The eggs benedict and eggs florentine are delicious, the side potatoes with herbes de provence are outstanding. The coffee and desserts are superb!
