A bad day at Blvd Burger? I ordered online and clicked on Med Rare for the Calif. Burgers and Med for the Kobe Burger. The opposite was done! Then did they change the beef today? It was not tender and juicy as in the past. Then they did not label the Kobe box and the wrong person got it. A simple "K" on the lid would have done the trick... ugh. 3 issues in one order. It's 12:30 pm, ran 3 miles earlier and had been intermittent fasting. I was so hungry and wanted to try chick fil a for the first time but the Walnut Creek location drive thru was a complete mayhem!! Luckily en route to San Leandro, we came across Boulevard Burger. It was open, no lines, no wait and I was starving. Ordered the boulevard burger with American cheese to go. Burger came in a nice to go box with 3 pickles slices, a lettuce leaf and tomato and red onion round slice all on the side! It did not disappoint!!! Ordered a pastrami sandwich for lunch on a Sunday. The place was not too busy, but it still took them ~20 mins to bring the food out. Pastrami is best served on rye bread, but they gave me wheat. Bread was not buttered or mustered. Very little meat, and not fresh. read more

TL/DR: large burger selection, great fries, friendly staff I got burgers to-go because the restaurant was putting up chairs 30min before closing. I took that as a sign that they didn't want people eating in. Love: 1. I love the options you can choose to customize your burger: how well your patty is cooked, the type of cheese, and the veggies. They even have packets of condiments on the side if you're getting the order to go. 2. The size of the burger was just right. It was filling, but not over-stuffed. Like: 1. The curly fries were crispy and not too oily. It would've been much better if they were seasoned. 2. The cashier was very nice. It was a little awkward to place our order because the cahsier was kind of small, and the counter was tall, plus a row of bottles were right in front of her so it was hard to see her. Meh: 1. I asked for my burger to be cooked medium rare, and I got well-done. The meat was pretty dry. 2. The burger does not come with any sauce, so smear on the ketchup and mayo yourself! I thought the burgers and fries were pretty decent. They weren't mind blowing, and not exactly the cheapest, but the quantity was great. I'll caveat this by saying up front that I always get the cheeseburger and fries to go. So I can't vouch for any other menu items. If you're looking for a good quality burger that's better than fast food, this is your place. (All the poor reviews I'm reading seem to pertain to the turkey burger.) One of my favorite places to visit in the East Bay. Delicious burgers and real ice cream shakes are the go to items here. I usually go for the MBA (Mushrooms, Bacon, Avocado) with onion rings and a vanilla shake. Parking is both street and a lot on the side. It can get crowded around after school time on weekdays, also dinnertime on weekends, so keep that in mind. Otherwise it usually pretty easy to grab a table and enjoy some good food! Before meeting with a client in San Leandro, my boss recommended that I stop for a bite to eat at Blvd. Burgers. My husband did the drive to SL with me so he was happy to rewarded with a beef patty, and I was excited for the veggie burger! The simple burgers we ordered ($6.70 ea.) came with fresh tomato, lettuce, pickles and red onion. My veggie burger was really good, but the patty was kind of small. I added the veggies from my husband's plate to mine and ate it all. The tables each have condiments on them: catsup, mustard, spicy mayo, hot sauce, relish, etc. and there is a fountain soda machine ($1.75). I had water, even though the ice cream shake was recommended to us. (And we saw one on another table that looked great!) I love reading reviews by prissy eaters, especially at this place, because it makes me feel better about myself and about not being an asshole. Boulevard Burger is really tasty and impressed me with the quality of their food. I got the California Burger, with avocado and jack cheese, and my patty was big and cooked perfectly, just the way I wanted it. Mmmm, I love me a slab of beef. They also don't fuss with your burger by overloading it with toppings, and you're free to add your condiments yourself to your liking. They also give you a large amount of fries, and in terms of the burger I got, practically a whole sliced avocado on the side. The only thing that keeps me from coming here more are the slightly high prices, but at the same time you really are getting what you pay for, which is nothing to complain about. My wife & I came in last night for dinner. I was in the mood for a good burger after work, and since most everything in San Leandro closes around 6 PM (seriously!), Boulevard Burger looked like a good choice, since they are open until 9 PM most days. I got a recommendation from my doctor, so I was looking to try this out. We walked in at 10 minutes to 9, so we were going to close down the place. But none of the staff seemed to care, as the cashier took our orders with a pleasant smile. I ordered a regular Boulevard Burger, but added bacon, while my wife ordered a Longhorn Burger (jalapenos, avocado, black beans and pepper jack cheese). We also got 2 sodas (big plus for a self-serve soda fountain with free refills) and a side of sweet potato fries. Soon after sitting down, we got our plate of fries. Even though I was hungry, I'm glad we shared this side, as it was a fairly big plate. Then, our burgers came. I asked for mine medium rare, but it was more on the medium side. That was OK with me, as the beef was tasty, and the bacon very crispy. My wife liked her burger, as the black beans added a little extra something-something. Overall, we enjoyed our food here. Finally came to visit this burger joint after talking about it for a few months. Came in on a Tuesday night and there was only one other group in the place. A little bit of "grouping" going on (you know, when the folks that work at a place group together and shoot the sh*t). Cashier was friendly and took our order. We decided to take it home because they did not have Corona Light and for some reason that was our deciding factor that day. We didn't check the order (epic fail) and arrived home to find only one was lettuce wrapped. I know that is a special order but when you ask for two burgers and both to come without a bun, it is annoying to have one with and one without. Then you are left with the decision of who eats with a fork a knife that night. Luckily, the burger was pretty good. I had a bacon and pepper jack cheese burger cooked medium. Meat was cooked perfectly and had a nice flavor. We will probably come back and try it again- definitely to go and will check the order before we leave. I have heard about Boulevard Burgers from a few family members. The hub and I were going to be in the area and thought to give it a try. Walking in the the decor is old school 50's vibe with the black and white checkered floor, they had street signs hanging from the ceiling and the menu on the wall. A few different types of beef burgers, chicken sandwiches, turkey and veggie alternatives, salads and sides. I ordered the boulevard burger cooked medium on a wheat bun. All burgers come with lettuce, onion, tomato and pickles. I added avocado for a buck extra and shared some fries with hub. You pay at the counter, take a number and pick a table. The food arrived about 15 minutes later cooked to order. The meat was well done not medium as requested. It was decent in size and tasted okay. It was just average nothing to write home about. Fries were okay seasoned with a little salt and made fresh not frozen. Condiments are on the table so you can add what you desire. Service was great. The girl that took our order was friendly and when she brought the food she asked of we needed anything else. It wasn't very busy bring 6PM on a Wednesday night. A little overpriced for what you get $5.25 for a regular burger plus $1.00 for avocado. French fries are $1.95. I do like that the burgers are made from hormone free angus beef. We were helping my brother in law move nearby and we were exhausted and hungry. I volunteered to pick up some late lunch/early dinner here and got everything to go. I had the California Chicken sandwich and it was great! On whole wheat buns, with avocado, sprouts and jack cheese.
