I have always loved bow wow bungalow. They know my pups names and my girls are so excited every time they come. We have gone there for over 10 years. The staff are amazing and truly care about your dogs. I believe recently it got new ownership and maybe that is where my issue lies. At this point I do not know if I will bring my dogs back again. When you call you get sent to a new scheduling company that appears to be in a foreign country. I have been trying to call for 2 days and have not been able to reach anyone who is actually at the facility. It is my new puppy's first time being away from me and I can't get a hold of someone to see how she is doing. I'm supposed to pick them up today but am very sick and need them to stay one more night, can't get a hold of anyone to see if that is possible. My babies are in their care and I literally cannot get anyone on the phone. Moving to a phone service was a bad move, you care for very loved family members and customers need to be able to contact you and actually be able to speak to someone at the facility. I'm hoping to figure out an answer to this because we truly have loved bow wow, but I can't leave my girls with someone I can't contact for 2 days. Updating to say I picked my pups up last night and brought their bag of stuff in today. About half the bags of food I sent for them were sent home, so they were only fed about half of the time they were there. This used to be a great family owned place. Found out it has been bought by destination pet. We will not be back. I am sick that my dogs did not get to eat all of their meals. read more

I have taken my dog to Bow Wow Bungalow for several years. Under the previous management, we've had a 5-star experience. Unfortunately, under the new management (Destination Pets) their service has been consistently a disappointment. Every single aspect of this facility has gone downhill under the current management - and quickly. Believe the recent negative reviews - the service at BWB is not what it used to be. The biggest issue is in the management/operation of the facility, and that trickles down to the care that your dog receives. Even though our dog has previously loved coming here, after a couple of incidents (one involving her physically and several involving the management/administration) we recently made the decision to exclusively bring her to our "backup" care facility - and we're so happy we made that choice, because our backup remains a "mom and pop" operation who care about their customers and go to great lengths to make sure that they earn your trust with your time, your wallet and your pet. Not so with Bow Wow Bungalow where clearly the dollar is the bottom line. Would advise anyone who cares about good customer service and the care their dog receives to find a different facility for their fur babies. read more

I'm not sure we'll come back here. We boarded my dog for a week and when we called to check in on him we didn't get much from the person on the phone which was disappointing. We paid for cuddle time and treats and no one mentioned any of that. It was literally "He doing ok." But, what was more upsetting was when I picked him up. I stood there and the woman behind the desk did not look at me or say anything. I had to announce I'm here to pick up my dog. Not sure if she was having a bad day or what but she seemed disinterested in helping me and just seemed cold. Then, after she brought out our dog's belongings and I noticed some of his toys were missing. She came back with a handful of toys and I noticed his favorite toy was still missing. She told me they threw it out because it was torn. The thing is it was torn when we dropped him off because it was his favorite toy and he liked to tug on it. They never asked if they could or should throw it out -- they just did. And the woman did not seem to care one way or the other. And when she finally brought our dog out she literally handed me the lease and turned and walked away. No thank you for having him stay here. Nothing. Again, really cold, which unfortunately left a bad impression overall. read more

I can't say enough good things about Bow Wow bungalow. My puppy Leo started going there in the middle of the pandemic, he was actually born during the pandemic and less socialized than older pups. He was a bit timid the first two times I brought him in there just not being used to so many pups and people. But by the third time he was so excited to see everybody and spend his days there. I took my dog here for boarding and my dog loves other dogs so I was really excited to see and hear that they let the dogs play with each other and have socialization while they're being boarded. The staff was incredibly nice and informative with any questions that I've had. The facility was absolutely amazing to walk into and to see the waterfall and the cleanliness of the facility was top-tier. I loved that I had the ability to watch my dog from the live cameras and see what he was doing while he was playing with the other dogs. All the other dogs there seems so happy as well. When I picked up my dog, they said that he did very well and when he got home, he was super sleepy from all the fun he had while he was there. I would 100% go to this place again and again for daycare or boarding or whatever services they have because I was just so impressed with how everything went with this experience for my dog and me. Also, sidenote, they have amazing add-ons that you can do for your dog, including having a birthday party for them and I thought that was the sweetest thing ever. I've been sending our dog to Bow Wow Bungalow for almost 2 years! We started sending him when he was a little puppy and he goes for day care 3-4 days a week. He has the BEST time. We love the staff so much! We love the clean facilities, cameras, location, and fun factor for our dog. My dog is in love with Autumn (in the picture) and will literally flirt with her all day. I had never taken my dog to a doggy daycare or boarding facility before. I saw Bow Wow had decent reviews and I had an upcoming trip so I planned on taking him there. They said they needed to do a temperament test and would offer a full 8 hours of doggy daycare if I'd like. I took them up on it and 1-2 days later my dog was really sick - he got canine flue while there. *He had never been anywhere aside from my house or their facility for 2 weeks so there is no mistaking he got it there. Bow Wow apparently had an outbreak but didn't notify anyone about it until after our visit. When I called to report the issue, they said they would help take care of the vet bill if I send them the invoice because they notified everyone after the time of our visit. I wasn't happy because I had to cancel a trip I was taking for my b-day (plus a second trip I had planned) as I had to keep my dog quarantined for 28 days. I sent the invoice and followed up with a phone call. Bow Wow asked what the date of my visit was to make sure it was before the threshold of when they notified everyone. I verified the date. One week later I get an email in response saying they were sorry but wouldn't help out with the bill like they said they would. I understand canine flu goes around, but why offer to help with the bill and then decide not to?!?! Why didn't you send an email to everyone as soon as I reported my dog getting canine flu there?!? Why didn't you send an email even before then when there were other reportings before we ever got there?!?! Why would you put pets at risk like that?!? TERRIBLE SERVICE! TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT! My bernedoodle has been going to Bow Wow Bungalow for day care and boarding for almost a year and absolutely loves it. I think a good measure of a day care / groomer / etc. is how a dog reacts when you go to leave them there. Well, my dog tries to pull the leash out of my hands because she's so excited to get inside and see the staff and all of her friends. I wanted to update that our 10 month puppy not only has pneumonia but PARVO VIRUS !! PARVO virus is extremely serious. It was heartbreaking to find this information. Our dog is having the battle of his life. He's been in the Hospital since Sunday, we brought him home from this facility the sunday before. He's been in and out of the hospital with medications since we picked him up and it's now escalated to him being DEATHLY SICK. We are really hoping and praying that he survives this. We never would have thought that bringing him to this facility would nearly kill him. Snoopy loves the Bow Wow Bungalow and we do too! From daycare to boarding, we've had great experiences with the caring people who work there. In the 10 months that we've been taking Snoopy, he's had a one day, one issue with one other dog which was reported to me upon pickup. He loves to spend the day there where he can lay in the sun and interact with dogs and people. The doggie cams give us the opportunity to check in throughout the day. I have been a long time customer of Bow Wow Bungalow. In fact, I have been a customer here while they gone through 2 Owner/Management changes. The current one seems to be more corporate and greedy than the previous 2 management. Current owner/manager seems to be with Destination Pets. Do a little digging in BBB and you can see how Destination Pets have a history of buying out local dog facilities and turn it corporate. Last manager with BWB allowed my friend's unused daycare package to be transfer to me. Friend's dog is injured and can no longer use daycare. Due to covid pandemic, I am no longer in LA/Burbank area much and I would like to gift another friend of mine my unused daycare packages as a pay it forward. I have 2 daycare packages (Full Day and Half Days) set to expire. One was to expire end of Feb 2023, one is expire end of Mar 2023. I email them before package 1 was to expire. I got nothing back. I went in in person to deal with this on March 14, 23. Manager is busy and won't talk to me. For the next week, I keep emailing them for an update as my other package is set to expire March 26, 23. After about 6 emails, I finally got a response back and said they can not do anything for me. I am sh*t out of luck. I was even willing to work with BWB and give them more money for upgrades. Seeing how this is the experience I am getting from a simple question, I will be taking my business elsewhere. I had always recommended BWB to others when they are asking for doggie daycare and boarding facilities. I never had a problem with BWB until this new management came in. If it isn't for me keep bugging them for an answer, I won't even get a reply back. Moreover, they seems to only have 1-2 staff per dog area and often pack their daycare area with too many dogs. I have told my friend my experience and will no longer recommend BWB to anyone. It is such a shame. In a market so competitive for doggie daycare and tons of places to take your pet to, had they work with me and allow me to gift my unused days to my friend, everyone would be happy and I would still be recommending BWB to everyone asking for one. On May 20, 2021, our dog was wounded while attending Bow Wow Bungalow. She had a deep puncture wound on her right side. Unfortunately, the staff watching her did not notice the wound. My husband saw it when picking her up around 6:30pm that evening. He was stunned and immediately returned to Bow Wow Bungalow to inquire about her injury. The staff watching over her hadn't even noticed, which was worrying since the blood was dry leaving us to believe it had happened hours prior. When my husband asked them to call the closest vet, a staff member responded that they were all closed, but someone from the office would contact us the following morning. Disappointed in the lack of care or urgency shown by the staff, my husband drove to the nearest after-hours veterinary clinic which was in Hollywood. The vet was shocked to see a 1.5 inch deep wound and couldn't believe no one had noticed earlier in the day. Luckily, he was able to clean the wound and staple it closed after taking x-rays just to be safe. The total cost was $638.75. The next morning, no one from Bow Wow Bungalow contacted us. We had to reach out to the manager on duty and were told to submit photos and the vet bill. After doing so, we waited until 6/7 before a $500 reimbursement check was issued. We emailed the manager asking if a separate check was to be mailed making up the difference of $138.75 and were told that Bow Wow Bungalow only covers bills up to $500 and that we had signed an agreement with that understanding. We understand that accidents in a dog daycare happen. Dogs cannot be watched every second. We get it. The response to accidents can, however, be very much controlled. So, here are our issues with the entire experience. 1. The staff didn't even notice the injury and therefore we were not contacted and our dog was not attended to earlier in the day which could have lessened the severity of her injury, as well as the cost. 2. No one followed up the next morning after we were told they would. An injured dog should ALWAYS be priority number one. 3. The general manager and owner never once contacted us to apologize. 4. Even though we signed a contract stating that the limit of vet reimbursement is only $500, there is absolutely nothing stopping them from paying more. 5. The lack of empathy and responsibility is not only disheartening on moral grounds, but it's also bad business. We are no longer taking our dog to Bow Wow Bungalow and we ask that prospective customers take our experience into consideration when trying to decide if this is the right place for your dog. read more

BAD EXPERIENCE!!! I called this place to schedule boarding for my dog and was told an evaluation was needed before boarding. I took my dog for this "evaluation" last week, and was told to leave him for 2-3 hours to see how he did with other dogs. My dog is a calm, sweet, 19 pound dog, so my only concern was him being anxious since he's not used to day care or being around other dogs. When I picked him up 2 hours later, the handler brought my dog to me and said "he did really well", then I looked at my dog and noticed blood on his head and his face. I asked what happened and the handler said he hadn't noticed the blood but that it was most likely his (the handler's) because another dog bit his finger earlier and he probably touched my dog after. SO MANY red flags here... 1) the handler's blood is on my dog???!!! WTF!!! 2) they didn't notice blood on my dog's face?! his face is white and light tan 3) my dog was there for an evaluation, wasn't he supposed to be watched?! Because of the explanation I was given, I rushed out of the place and ran to my car to clean my dog's face and head with Lysol wipes, then ran home to give my dog a bath... and that's when I noticed his ear was bleeding and had a bruise. I don't know if another dog bit him or how his ear was injured. I called Bow Wow and was put on hold forever until the call got disconnected, even after explaining to the receptionist why I was calling. I called again and finally spoke to Natasha, who asked me to send pictures and said she would find out what happened. I sent pictures and never heard back, it has been a week. My dog is OK now, but I will never take him to this place again. I am somehow glad this happened during the "evaluation" because that saved my dog from staying there for 3 days. I understand dogs could be injured while at a day care, but I don't understand how my dog got injured while being evaluated and nobody noticed, or how my dog walked around with blood on his face and head and nobody noticed, or how the handler thought it was ok that his own blood could possibly be on my dog, or why management has not called back and explained what happened. What I observed that day was a lot of dogs in the areas you can see from their cameras, and very few handlers. I think this place is all about making $ and take as many dogs as they can fit in those areas, but they don't have enough people to watch them and they don't care about the dog's safety or even comfort. We are pet parents to a 2.5 year old Husky who can't be alone for a whole day and sheds a lot. Our daughter was getting married and we had family staying with us. We had the rehearsal, rehearsal dinner and the wedding. The last time we boarded our old dog was for a trip 12 yrs ago and things have changed. I went to 2 places and there was just 1 lg room and 1 human watching the dogs. I called a few other places and they wanted a meet and greet plus you had to buy 2 or more daycare days before you can board your baby. They were very expensive and I was running out of time and didn't know what to do. I found Bow Wow Bungalow on the net and called. They met us and Stanley. Being this was Stanley's 1st time at daycare, they ask if we can leave him 4+hrs. Not only did he have a great time, he went swimming 2 times and had fun. They do their meet and greet and daycare the same day and it was free. I didn't have to buy any additional days. They were very reasonable with their rate. Stanley was there for 2 nights. At the rehearsal dinner, everybody wanted to see Stanley. Bow Wow has 6 play yards with plenty of climbing, 2 pools and many humans watching the dogs. I had to call to see which yard they were in at 7PM because I couldn't find him. He was swimming!! He ate better there than at home. During the wedding at 8:26 PM, I received a text and pix from Marie that Stanley had a hot spot on his elbow. I didn't answer and on Sunday at 9:30 AM Marie called and let me know that they sprayed it with an antibacterial. I can't say enough about Bow Wow Bungalow !! I plan to use they in the future for both daycare and boarding!!! read more

Two paws up for Bow Wow Bugalow and its staff, especially the manager Natasha. Our high-energy husky mix LOVES her days at the Bungalow socializing with other dogs and splashing in the pool. I love that I can see what she's up to on the doggie cam, and that she comes home exhausted and happy. Natasha has been especially wonderful accommodating our schedule as we're preparing for the arrival of our first human baby. Our pup is going to spend a few nights at the Bungalow when it's time for our baby to be born, but obviously it's hard to know exactly when that will be. Well our bun in the oven is taking her time and we've had to move the date of our dog's overnight stay a few times. Natasha has been nothing short of amazing with our ever-changing timeline. We were very nervous to leave our dog for boarding, he had never stayed away from home without family. I took him to play at daycare three or four times before dropping him off to board so that he wouldn't be in too unfamiliar of a place. He is an energetic dog, very friendly, but nervous/shy around groups of other dogs. He seemed to like daycare pretty well, never resisted when we dropped him off but he still seemed happy to be picked up. The staff here is very nice, helpful, answering neurotic dog mom questions without any attitude. Fast forward to picking him up after four nights boarding during thanksgiving. When we picked him up he did not want to leave! He wanted to go back in with his new doggy friends! That really made us feel like he had a good time boarding and was treated well. I have consciously uncoupled from bow wow bungalow.... and it feels terr-ruff-ic! We have been using BWB for years and always had a great experience. Our dog was boarded there on many occasions without incident. The staff has always been great to our dog. BWB has been like a second home to our dog. My family giggles all the time over the "tummy rub" option for boarding. We had heard that new management took over this last year and hoped that the quality would be maintained. Bow wow were we wrong! We recently tried to board our dog with the new owners and were immediately told that our dog needed to be "reevaluated" for boarding. We found this odd as our dog has been there over and over again and were even more surprised that we had to pay 10 dollars for this "new" evaluation (as an aside, you could not find a more chill dog than our dog). We acquiesced in good faith and brought our dog in. The new staff (led by Natasha Havens and Alexa Murphy) had no appreciation for existing customers and proudly asserted that they discarded all prior records and have a "new way" of doing business. I was forced to answer a bunch of questions I previously answered with the prior owners and was then told I had to sit around for 20-45 minutes while they let our dog go into the playroom. Our dog then had to endure another 4 hour evaluation in which (like last time) he was non-violent, calm, loving, and friendly. A few hours later, I received an email saying that our dog "failed" his reevaluation because he sometimes "barks for attention" (what dog doesn't?), upsets the "harmony of the yard" (whatever that means?), and was somehow "overwhelmed" by the facility (a facility by the way that he has run around in well before these new owners took over - and, more importantly, with nothing but glowing compliments from the prior staff). Then..... the upsell - our dog could have private boarding there for an extra 40-50 dollars per day. When I pointed out to the new staff that this felt like an upsell without good cause and a "slap in the face" to loyal customers who have spent lots of money there, I was accused of being "rude" and told that my dog made other dogs feel "emotionally troubled." The new management is clearly trying to upsell people into the 100 dollars a day boarding fee and it's outrageous. And the icing on the cake - they are now demanding the 10 dollars for the "failed" reevaluation. We are taking our business elsewhere. You should as well! read more

Took my lil guy in for his evaluation and Linda was very patient with all my questions during our check in process. She said he did very well and I was so relieved to be able to watch the doggie cams to see him getting alot of exercise. Picked him up with Ashley who was also very friendly and informative. My pug has been coming here for about 8 months and can't wait to get out of the car and run inside. She's mostly just likes to sit and observe the other dogs, but it's been a great alternative to leaving her home alone with her separation anxiety. Right now she only goes a couple days a week, but I know she looks forward to it! I'm surprised I didn't leave a review when I stopped coming here in 2022 but I just got an "I miss you" text from them with a 25% off service discount and was wondering if the company was struggling for business. They tried to sell us on "training" because they said our dog needed it lol we were already in training with K9 logic. Then they gave us a strike because our dog was too hyper and would get zoomies and excite the other dogs... mind you she was a puppy. (Also that's normal dog behavior???) The staff was nice at first but then became rude to me and made me feel like they didn't like my dog once she was a bigger puppy and not small and cute anymore to them since we first brought her at 4 months old (she is a husky shepherd mix) needless to say I found an amazing company of dog watchers that pick up your dogs and take them to a dog park and they actually care for your dogs! Boarding is in the one dog watchers home and my dog absolutely loves it and gets to sleep in a cozy bed at night there. If anyone needs an alternative to dog watching services message me!! The company I use now was a complete life saver after Bow Wow started being terrible. read more

My wife and I took our 9-month-old Boston Terrier pup to Bow Wow Bungalow for a few nights in mid-July. It was our first time leaving him while away and we did a ton of research, even after the facility was recommended by our trainer, who we deeply respect. We wanted to like Bow Wow as it is close to us, relatively affordable, and a nice-looking facility. Everyone we interacted with up through dropping our pup off was very nice. Red flags were raised quickly when, a day after we dropped him off, they called us to say his food was about to run out even though we had left enough food with instructions for feeding over three nights and some change. They fed a puppy 3x his normal serving for at least three meals and only called us when his food was running out. I'll admit that our instructions for feeding could have been written more directly, but they only called us when the food was running out and hours after he had thrown up multiple times. I'm not sure how any responsible dog expert would look at a puppy his size/age and think he needs 9 cups of food per day, regardless of whether feeding instructions were not super clear at first glance. On top of this feeding issue, which led to him vomiting multiple times and a bloated stomach, we watched our puppy be humped through the webcams by a much larger dog roughly a dozen times--we were only sporadically checking in on how things were going so this likely happened more than we know. We watched the trainers onsite separate him from the bigger dog a few times when they noticed, but it was upsetting that this behavior was allowed to continue overall and we had to call to say we were concerned. Finally, our puppy come home with a respiratory infection (we assume kennel cough) that resulted in us needing to take him to the vet and pay $280 in meds. Needless to say, we won't be going back to this place and we recommend you stay away until the facility can make stronger promises about screening dogs for sickness and keeping then separated when problematic behavior like repeated mounting happens. We also didn't like that they refused to show us where our puppy would be sleeping when we asked, and that those areas are not visible through the webcams. read more

I recently started going her with our 18m old big dog and truly love them! Super helpful, follow-up with you in particular if you're a nervous dog mommy like me, and have a great clean space. Most importantly, our dog is LOVES going and literally is jumping out of the car when we pull up. The puppy cam is a win as well...love checking it and seeing her having the best time. My Siberian Husky Cobalt has been coming here since he was a puppy he is now 2 1/2. I appreciated their evaluation process initially 2 years ago because it let me know they don't accept just any dog. My main concern is always my dogs safety. So thank you for that. I love that I can drop him off as early as 7am since I have to be at work at 8am. And love the late hours as well. I used to take him to another daycare before Bow Wow Bungalow and I used to have to drag him out. Here at Bow Wow Bungalow he literally sprints out of my car to hang with his friends They're always flexible with who can pick up my dog they just make sure I authorize the person and make sure to call and confirm that information! And lastly, I LOVEEEEE that I can check on my dog throughout the day via their iDogCam app! Gives me peace of mind when I can actually see my dog having fun and not just locked up in a kennel somewhere. Oh and they feed him lunch as well! Can't complain! From a management/owner standpoint bungalow deserves a 1/2 star. I will say there are a handful of considerate professionals working there that should not be looked at as the reason for this low rating however the lack of consistency as a whole in customer service and care for your dog is their downfall making this place worth avoiding. I blame poor leaders that do not exist there from the numerous incidents I've dealt with. I've given more than enough time for this establishment to right and its wrongs but they continue to operate with no leadership in the form of a manager and plenty of changing of employee shifts that lead to nobody following through or owning up to anything. My dog has been bitten and I have been called and told it was minor and the dogs were separated but upon picking up my dog there is nobody there who can give further clarity of the incident because that person has gone home for the day. That being said attempting to find closure to what happened and that this won't happen again is a conversation you will end up having with a front desk staff, a handler who wasn't there at the time , and no manager. Following up I make it a point to explain what happened that day and yet I can tell there's no legit notes being made or anyone concerned specifically for the incidents that occur and you roll the dice yet again that you will be able to get clarity on what happens there ultimately after the fact it happens - that is if you speak to someone who hasn't already gone home for the day. You can take it for what it is and make the right decision for your dog but take the time to really study the camera and you will catch very little attention to dogs that have escalated the overall energy of the yard- making it dangerous for other insecure dogs that will retaliate in biting. It's just as much responsibility for me the owner to remove my high energy dog from the equation as it is a handler to see the signs and to redirect the behaviors. I will do my part. Also if you're looking for a much better alternative look in Paradise pet resort in Sunland. same price. Cameras everywhere. Shade and A/C. I received an email from a woman named Gretchen who said she had taken over for Ara and saw my review from February 2020. she asked me to resubmit all the paperwork from the veterinary hospital so she could submit it to a higher authority. Within a week I had received a check for $500 of the $1000 we spent in medical care. Although I was expecting more compensation as per their terms, I was happy just to be recognized and treated so well by Gretchen. I still feel that someone within the last 6 months should have contacted me that Ara left his position instead of making excuses when I called. It would have been more professional. We are so happy that we found Bow Wow Bungalow! We are first time dog parents and we recently rescued our Mila and I was looking for a daycare for her to get better with other dog socialization, human interaction and play time. We were a bit nervous at first but visiting their website, and calling each month and talking to everyone here made me feel so confident to leave her so she can thrive- We have had Mila come here twice or three times a week for full days and it's been an amazing 4 months so far- She has gotten better with dog socialization and our walks are better, she's still working on something other things but she has been thriving with the handlers at bow wow bungalow. Affordable, Local, Kind Staff and very professional. I admire the staff and their beautiful hearts. Mila recently got her nails trimmed as they also offer spa services and grooming. They also offer boarding and Mila recently went into boarding for three days and it was a great experience for her. We will always bring Mila and any future dogs we get and I keep recommending this small biz to my neighbors and friends and social media- such an amazing biz please check it out! Our dog was very antisocial towards other dogs he used to avoid them therefore we decided to send him to bow wow bungalow he loves this place and now he wants to greet every dog he meets .
