The best sandwich roll I've ever had no joke! The wrap is so fresh it's gotta be made in house! Shoot. Should'a asked. I ordered the Porky's goes Hawaiian (all the names are quirky fun) and it was crazy good. Way inexpensive, filling and whatever sauce they make and slather on just about all their roll ups is freakin amazing! We went there on the way from Provincetown back to Boston. The food was good. They have some items I would have never thought of putting together, like roast beef and cream cheese. We have been staying nearby for the last few years, and Box Lunch has been our go-to for a quick breakfast and or lunches to have on the beach. We've always enjoyed the food. On our last stop at the end of our vacation this past August, we stopped in for breakfast sandwiches, and I ordered home fries to go with it. Whoo Hoo! Those taters were spicy hot. Way too much for my taste buds at start the sirens cause it's a five-alarm fire! After eating the sandwich to put out the fire, I popped back into the restaurant and asked the gal at the register who had just arrived if I could speak with the manager or owner. As it turns out, she was right there and asked how she could help. I told her that the home fries were way too spicy, and I wanted to suggest that they label them on the board as such. I was not looking for free food or a refund. I just wanted to suggest that they give folks a heads up on the spicy stuff! She promptly apologized and explained that the person who prepped the food loved spices and may have gone overboard that morning. Julie, if I recall her name correctly, apologized again and made sure we left happy and feeling like she listened and cared about our experience with her business. We will be back. read more

3 1/2 stars. Service was prompt and friendly. I ordered a cup of clam chowder and it was spot on-fantastic (4 stars), but the lobster roll was just ok. They have a half pound option, which of course I ordered. The lobster wasn't in super identifiable chunks. I did see some obvious claws, but a lot of it was sort of shredded. There was also, in my opinion, too much mayo. They serve their sandwiches on a pita/flat bread wrap, which tasted fine, but a lot of the sandwich fell out the whole in the bottom. I'm glad I was eating it back at my house and not at the beach, where I might have lost precious lobster meat. read more

Ask for prices upfront for the lobster rolls, we asked for them to be warm instead of cold. 3 lobster rolls and 3 cups of clam chowder was $148.00. Outrageous. Was told there would be an up charge for warm vs cold, shame on me for not asking what the up charge was, but shame on this business for gouging. Best lobster roll I've ever had! The perfect amount of mayo, plenty of lobster meat, and a toasted buttery bun.

A favorite of the locals, with exceptionally hard-working staff (it gets really busy in there!) and really yummy and creative options. We are regulars here and we have never, ever been disappointed. I love trying different things every time - but the gilded lobster remains a true favorite. Gluten free wraps are fantastic, especially with heated sandwich options. They take such care to get it right. I'd love to keep this place a secret for the locals but I also want to let these folks know how much we appreciate them by offering a well-deserved 5-star review! read more

We stopped here for a quick lunch before heading for some wine tasting. I was a little bummed that there wasn't any indoor seating. I'm not from the East Coast and I know this is a chain but I'm not sure if that's typical of their restaurants. They had picnic tables outside but it was raining so we opted to sit in the car and eat. I had the Walberry wrap which was recommended to me by the guy behind the counter when I couldn't decide. Walked in at around 11, ordered two great rollwiches, service was friendly & our order was put together in a reasonable time for the pitas to be loaded up & wrapped. Just got lunch here. Not sure why it's called box lunch, there's no box. The owner was rushing me while I'm deciding what chips and drink to get, probably upset that he'd had to restock. Would not come again. I prefer civilized, decent service. Haven't eaten the 'box lunch' yet so can't speak to the quality of food. In the guidebooks this place was recommended as a great stop for to-go beach lunch so we bought in and tried it out. They don't have a gluten free menu, but you can make a salad out of any wrap so it's easy enough for folks with gluten allergies. The prices are reasonable and they have a ton of options, but the food just left both of us a little disappointed. The gluten free salad ended up being a little smaller than we were expecting and it did the job, but was nothing spectacular. The cranberry chicken salad wrap was more messy than it was tasty. The pita wrap would have tasted great if it didn't get completely soggy from the pink cranberry and mayo sauce mixture. read more

Most beach side fast food is predictable and prosaic, but we loved this particular establishment with its bold departure from the usual cheeseburgers and frozen fish sandwiches. My wife had the Captain Chicken with its fresh avocado and I sprang for the Ferdinand with heated roast beef and three cheeses. The menu features many other items all rolled up in flat bread. In addition to the fillings, you can choose your flavor of bread at this location which include tomato, spinach, and garlic among others. There's a fine variety of sodas to be had as well as chips. Seating was problematic, but it was easy enough to pack up your lunch and carry it off to one of the Cape's nearby beaches for a picnic. read more

This place is awesome for getting a sandwich to bring along to the beach. They also serve coffee to help with the recovery efforts if you were at The Beachcomber the night before. This place is a bit unique because all of their sandwiches are served on pita's instead of sub rolls. It's pretty affortable too. I recommend the grilled chicken avocado thingy. read more

Awesome!!!! My Dad's been talking about coming back here since he ate here last yr. He had the lobster wrap and was quite happy. Very fresh and crisp lettuce and tomato. Big pieces of not overly mayo covered lobster. The clam chowder homemade by the cook's wife was great!!! I had their house made Italian wedding soup. The meatballs were clearly formed by hand and were spiced with something I can't name but loved.... kinda red....maybe kielbasa...smokey....effing delicious even on a hot day. Box Lunch is popping up all over the Cape. If you have never been to one, you must try it! Inventive wraps and sandwiches and just all around pretty decent food for cheap prices. There isn't much to these places but they serve up some pretty healthy items and they use local food and have an excellent selection of inventive menu items! This location is off Route 6 and is tucked away in a small shopping center. Try it out! Good stuff! read more

We stopped in for lunch yesterday primarily because we needed some vegetarian options. So glad we did. Not only was there an entire board of vegetarian options plus others snuck in on the specials menu and elsewhere (egg salad on the chicken menu), but their regular menu was also great. We had some lobster roll snobs who declared Box Lunch's lobster rolls fabulous. (They are actual rolls, not on a New England hot dog bun.) The owner was so friendly. We scored a picnic table outside, which was perfect, but would have been equally as happy to take our sandwiches with us to the beach. PS - also happy that they had recycling bins available. Went there yesterday for the first time. Staff was really friendly, especially the man working at the counter approximately 3pm. Showed great customer service and deserves recognition.
