If you're hungering for a no-nonsense "feels like I'm in the Bronx" Italian deli experience in Crystal City, Bozzelli's hits the mark. It has that perfect "neighborhood staple" feel where the focus is clearly on the quality of the ingredients rather than unnecessary frills. I had the Metro Italian (12") which is a beast of a sandwich!! The meat-to-bread ratio is spot on, and you can tell they aren't skimping on the quality of the cold cuts. The bread has that essential crusty exterior while staying soft enough to soak up the oil and vinegar without falling apart. It's a classic Italian sub done exactly the way it should be. Just good luck opening your mouth wide enough to take that first bite! You can't leave an Italian deli without a cannoli, and this one didn't disappoint. The shell was crisp (not soggy!), and the filling was rich and creamy without being overly sweet. It was the perfect finish to a heavy lunch. The shop has a great, authentic energy. It's efficient, which is a must for the Crystal City lunch rush, but they still make you feel like a regular even if it's your first time in. It's easily one of the best spots in the area for a high-quality, reliable meal. They have some tables outside for the nicer days I think the 12" is definitely enough to share if you aren't starving--or just save the other half for a "Round 2" dinner, you won't regret it!

Food: very tasty--I had the pesto Parmesan chicken sandwich. Service: polite and prompt. Ambiance: best for takeout, and they have outdoor seating if you like

Great service. They don't do slices but their personal size is perfect. A great cheese pull and sauce is tasty. Service was great as well. Note they don't have fountain drinks bottle only but they do have the option for beer/wine/Prosecco etc. outside tables only. Combos also available that include drink and a side or dessert. Overall great spot !

My thoughts about this place is that it's a little overhyped. This is a small mom and pop kinda place - and I loved that! What I did appreciate was the fact that when I walked in I walked straight to the cashier and asked what are the 2 best selling sandwiches. She said chicken Parmesan and the meatball. I'm not a meatball kind of girl so I got the chicken parm. I asked about the wait; she said 7 minutes - I got my sandwich in less than 5. This is amazing service! I also got the caramel cookie because she said that was very good. Now the food... I took a bite and it was hard. I expect the chicken to be crispy in a chicken parm - but not hard. Maybe it was over cooked? When I got towards the center it wasn't as hard. It did have good flavor but the piece of chicken is very thin - so it being hard made it difficult to enjoy. It was also dry. So in this case, had they cooked it for less time and added more sauce, this could have been great. The cookie was a hard cookie and I was hoping it would be a little softer, but it was good. I got my food to-go, although there is outdoor seating if you prefer to sit.

    Steak and cheese...no Philly love.

Eh, you're passing by, need some sober food and you see Bozzelli's. That's the quality of the pizza and steak and cheese. Nothing great, not terrible, but not memorable. Kids had a cheese pizza, eh. We had girls soccer pizza, eh, had a steak and cheese...definitely no Philly love. 2.5 stars...better options in the area.

Recently visited DC in August in Remembrance of my grandmother and this local eatery was walking distance from my hotel. I saw advertisements in our hotel room and thought, why not. So, on a 5minute stroll we, made it. Its a small spot but very busy. While looking over the menu, atleast 3 or 4 uber eats drivers did order pickups. The inside is fairly small but they have about 5tables with chairs. We got a bottle of wine to take back to the hotel and had a couple of spritzers with our food.. our food was really delish!! The butter garlicky wings and the artesian style pizza was definitely a winner. I definitely recommend n should we take at the particular hotel on my next visit ,cause I gotta come bac, I will absolutely be eating here, again.. N although they were very busy, they still explained menu items, welcomed US to the city and gave suggestions on places to go.

Small place, but came here for takeout so it didn't matter. Had lots of desserts and salads ready made and the pizza took 10-15 minutes to make. The salads were good, but the pizza was amazing. The white pizza (spinach and artichoke and mozzarella) was to die for, I literally ate the whole thing by myself in one sitting. The spinach and artichoke made this pizza so special and delicious, and the crust was amazing as well. The pizzas also come in this cute boxes where you can make a bib out of them. Can't wait to come back here!

A Modo Mio offers many food specials. For example, on Tuesdays, that's when we stopped there for…read moredinner, all their pasta dishes are 1/2 price. However, given that they ranked 32nd among this country's top 50 Pizza restaurants, I had to order a pizza. And I'll get to my pizza after I discuss some other things, because it all plays together. Also, during my visit, I kept drawing comparisons between this place and Pupatella, a local Neapolitan pizza juggernaut. The Big Question to answer is why A Modo Mio got a spot on the Top 50 while Pupatella didn't even make the cut. Access is easy, and parking is good. There are lots of spaces that wrap around the restaurant. That's in contrast to Pupatell, which has limited parking and where I always wind up using the Safeway lot across the street. The restaurant is clean and spacious, with plenty of comfortable seating. It also has a long, well-stocked bar where you can sit to enjoy a beverage or a meal. Pupatella doesn't have any of that. When you arrive, you're greeted by a host who shows you to your seat. A very short while later, a waiter shows up and does all the things waiters do. At Pupatella, you wait in line to place your order, then find an open table. TLDR: Your dining experience, outside of the food, is much more civilized and relaxing at A Modo Mio. The pie that earned their 32 out of 50 ranking was the Sicilia. But I ordered a 12" Casertana because I'm not crazy about eggplant and like sausage. The pie arrived a short while later, piping hot and loaded with sausage. The taste was sublime and delicious. My only complaint was that the basil was added before baking, and I prefer that herb when it's not reduced to ash. So back to The Big Question, is the A Modo Mio pizza *that* much better than Pupatella that it earned a spot amongst the Top 50 while the other one didn't even make the cut? Frankly, it's not. It is good pizza... possibly great pizza. But that's also true of the other place. What sets A Modo Mio apart from that other place, and the answer to the Big Question, is that the criteria for generating the Top 50 list included more than the pizza. It also took into account: - Hospitality and Service - Ambiance - Beverage Program. Beyond the pizza, A Modo Mio has those things in abundance, while the other place pretty much has none. TLDR: Comparing pizzas side by side, the two places are on par. However, if you take into account the entire dining experience, you will be much happier with your pizza here, as opposed to that other place or most other pizza restaurants in the DMV area.

I made a mistake and didn't realize this was a fork and knife establishment. I picked up my pizza and all the toppings fell off. But to be honest... even with "fork and knife pizza" the toppings should not be goopy and slippery. Does the best pie and Arlington hold like that on the regular? Nothing special about the toppings either. The crust and dough were the best part of this experience, but an amazing pie, should have all component's complimenting each other. Is it decent pizza? Yes. Best pizza in Arlington? I don't think so.

When I had ordered previously, I always found that my pie was not ready and I had to wait. Each time, I waited a bit longer, and each time, still not ready. So, this time, ordered my pizza before 9:00 PM and did not depart immediately -- but instead waited a full 20 minutes before even walking there slow. When I arrived, the pizza was..... still not ready. It occurs to me that this shop is situated in a time zone that is somehow TEN MINUTES BEHIND the time your order is due. The guy says "five minutes." In any case, I stand, I wait.... and I.... wait some more. It wasn't five minutes. Lots of workers standing. Nearing the 9:30 mark, someone finally says "have you been helped?" And whadda ya know? Found out the reason I was still waiting - BECAUSE MY PIE WAS SITTING THERE THE WHOLE DAMN TIME! Getting cold. She says "we're just getting that cut up." But they weren't - it was already cut. They took one of their old pies off the rack and slid it right into a box. It wasn't in the oven. I could feel it was cold, but yes, I took it and went home. I can't say you couldn't eat it but.... it wasn't good. We did eat some of it, but only after baking it in my own oven. Good thing I ordered in advance, eh? If you are going to do a take out here, my advice would be to skip ordering altogether, and just go there and get the slices yourself. They won't be too fresh, but at least it will be fast. Better yet, go across the street to Quincy Hall, (or over to Wise Guys) where they will bake the pizza to order and have it hot and ready when you arrive. Keep in mind here they charge $32 for a pizza, full price only. NOT worth it, won't be back, do not recommend.
