We've been having a heat wave in SoCal and the AC went out at my 90 year old dad's house so I was calling around and nobody could get in sooner than 3 days ahead. Brent and team handle business. They came in on very short notice replaced my AC, coil, added a register, and replaced ducting. I had a concern about condensation draining from my coil. Brent and his team fixed a leaking air condition unit in my house. I called them at 6pm on a Friday and they came within an hour. The drainage pipe was clogged. They cleared the clog in addition to patching some holes in the duct work. They did tell me they didn't guarantee work to unclog pipes, but their work did seem to do the job as there is no more leaking. I had three companies diagnose and give me bids on my heating unit which was not heating my house. One told me it was my gas valve (WRONG) it was working find and said $825 to fix. One told me my heating unit was to old and needed to be replaced-($8,900) and that he said was discounted. Then I found Brent. Showed up on time, respectful, knowledgeable, honest and found the problem in 10 minutes. My circuit board had failed. Say he needed to locate the right part and said he would be back the next day. Our AC was having issues and they came out to check it out. It ended up being an electrical issue but they stated that our unit was also low on freon and recommended topping it off. They said they "added" a pound of freon and charged $100 for it. I don't even know if they actually added the freon because it looked real gimicky when they supposedly connected a tank to it to add the freon. After they left I looked up the specs on our unit and the manufacturer states it holds 8 pounds of freon. I don't think 7 pounds constitutes "low on freon" and it certainly didn't make it any cooler or more efficient. read more

My AC was not cooling in June when it was hot. In fact after turning it on, the temperature went UP quickly. I had very bad experiences with another AC service company 2 years ago so I was very frustrated that I had to deal with another AC problem again. I called BPW. Brent came out the same day very quickly. He diagnosed the problem and quickly fixed it by adding Freon and tried to block leaking. He disclosed that leak blocking may or may not work, which I understood. So far in the past hot days, the AC has worked very well. We called Brent three weeks ago in August during a hot-spell at 3:00p and expected voicemail and a long wait. Not so. He picked up the phone, asked where we lived and said he could be there this evening, so we set a 7:00p time. He and his helper were early. We also expected a $2,500 repair with a story, "the whole AC unit needs replacing." Again, not so. It was a condenser, which cost 1/10 of our expected price and we were back cooling off our delicate kids in under an hour. Bottom line: Fast, honest and cost-effective. Brent at BPW Heating and Cooling is the Holy Grail of service professionals -- look no further. My furnace stopped blowing air. Left messages with other companies; one couldn't come for 4 days, another never called back; both had high Yelp reviews. Then I calIed BPW. Brent answered immediately, and came out within 30 minutes! I figured at the least I'd need a new control board, or even worse, a new fan motor. They would likely take days to order, meanwhile we'll freeze. Turned out the furnace schematic had come loose and got stuck in the fan blades, which had in turn blown a capacitor on the control board. He dislodged the schematic, replaced the capacitor, fixed a couple exposed wires for completeness, and was done in less than 1 hour! No hard sell of parts I didn't need. He didn't charge much more than a service call fee. Honest, quick, straightforward, reasonable rates -- an honor to his profession. STOP READING REVIEWS AND CALL BPW! Long story short, I was quoted $8,000 by Home Depot and another company. I was frustrated and Yelped for an estimate before scheduling an appointment. My cooling system stopped blowing cold air. It's a 100 degrees. We rent, and management couldn't get out till next day. Yeah that doesn't work for me. I sent out a request for estimate on here and they contacted me within minutes and was able to come a few hours later. I ended up not needing them after all because cold air randomly started blowing cold air again. So I can't rate on their service repair but I'm all about quality customer service and I got it. And if they have that in the bag then fixing is just gravy on top. I will be contacting them if I ever need service ASAP again. read more
