Y'all, we were SO looking forward to dinner Friday night at BR Prime at the Beau Rivage in Biloxi. On our first visit this restaurant was as nearly perfect as a restaurant could be. Sadly, that was not the case tonight. First, the ambiance is just ok, because there's no dress code, which I suppose is to be expected in a casino restaurant. (Well, there is a dress code, and it's "shirts with sleeves", in other words "no wife-beaters".) Secondly, our server, Brian A, was spectacular! Knowledgeable, attentive, and very helpful when we encountered a problem. That problem was the food. My wife ordered an 8 oz filet, rare plus. I ordered a veal chop, medium. The food came nearly instantly, truly in fewer than 6 minutes, which should have been a warning. When she cut into the filet my wife discovered it to be a bit overdone, a bit dry, and tasteless. My veal chop was nothing special. It was cooked as ordered, but also having very little flavor. I tasted my wife's steak and it truly had no flavor at all, much less a steak flavor. I've never before encountered a piece of meat that had no flavor. My veal chop was merely OK. I've eaten lots of veal chops in my life, and this one was the worst I've ever encountered. The only positive is that it had a tiny bit of the flavor missing from my wife's beef. After my encouragement, my wife sent the steak back and the server immediately () substituted a rib eye. It came so fast that I had to be sitting under a heat lamp in the kitchen. (I have no doubt that our original orders had also been under a heat lamp in the kitchen.). It was only marginally less bad than her filet. All of this mess cost well over $250, including only one glass of wine. The French fries we ordered were spectacularly good! Thin, crisped in duck fat, and delicious. All in all, our experience was a nicely appointed restaurant, superior service, and steaks and chops that Sizzler would be embarrassed to serve. The atmosphere is definitely a feel of having to eat and drink fine wine. I got the nitrogen drink in the flavor 'red rose' and it was super delish! I also had a taste of the Cabernet Sauvignon which tasted really smooth. The porterhouse steak was definitely on the dry side but was still very meaty. The 6 oz. filet mignon was lovely and juicy! I had it medium well and it was just purrrfect melt in your mouth tasting. We also had a side of the cream corn which was soft and delish along with the butter potatoes- tasted like any other potato side really. The 3 tartare appetizer was okay in my opinion. The bread was my favorite part about it to be honest. But it does taste better with butter and with salmon on top the best. The steak and the tuna portion of this appetizer was not as good as the salmon tartare. All hail the lobster bisque!!! The breading in the middle soup crumbled off ever so elegantly in the soup!! Service was excellent but atmosphere was very loud and busy. Food was okay at best. Steak had large chunks of fat in it, leaving us wanting more meat for the price. Brussels were undercooked. Steakhouse located on the casino floor of the Beau Rivage hotel. Tip: Definitely make your reservation ahead of time. We waited until Saturday afternoon and the earliest we could get in was 10pm that night. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with modern touches but a cozy feel. The waitstaff was top notch and paid attention to the little details such as pulling out my chair for me. We started off with the scallops appetizer which was delicious. For my meal I had the 8oz filet which was plenty enough to fill me up. My dining partner had the porterhouse steak and he could only finish half. For sides we had the mushrooms and macaroni and cheese. The restaurant is very pricy. Expect to spend about 75 a person before alcohol. read more

Underwhelming... While the ambiance was nice, the food was lacking in flavor. I had the Brussels & bone-in ribeye. Upon my first cut of the ribeye I knew that I was going to be disappointed. It wasn't tender & I could taste absolutely no seasoning, not even salt & pepper. The Brussels weren't terrible. However, I expected more from a steakhouse at this price point. I am so glad that I asked for the horseradish sauce on the side rather than on top like how it is prepared because I think it would have been a bit too much going on. The service was fine. Again, I wouldn't rate it 5 stars; for me it was a 3.5 at best. Overall, I wouldn't feel comfortable recommending this place to others. We decided to dine here last night before attending Russell Peter's comedy show, he truly is the master of freestyle comedy. He has been a favorite of mine for years and was even funnier in person. I did not want to miss a second of this show, so I specifically called ahead to make reservations and to confirm we could dine in enough time to make it without rushing or missing part of our show. The restaurant was extremely accommodating. Service was spot on - we had 4 servers taking care of our table. The chef offered us a tasting spoon before dinner along with a selection of fresh breads. I dont eat bread but if I did, I would have chosen the cheddar. Scallop appetizer was spot on, extremely tender with perfect cook. I would order this again. Filet had a really nice seasoned crust on the outside and was a perfect medium-rare. You could taste the quality of the meat. I also ordered it topped with the crab hollandaise sauce (on side), which was a bit bland (just add salt) but it included huge chunks of crab. The filet was so good it really didnt need it though. They also offer a nice selection of Nitrogen cocktails. I would like to point out that I noticed the only bad reviews regarding this restaurant have been regarding pricing and it being "overrated". My suggested to these reviewers is to check pricing before dining, because some of us dont mind paying extra for the ambiance. If it's not within your budget, then find a new restaurant rather then leaving a bitter review because you spent over your budget or couldnt afford it. We ordered the shrimp cocktail and chargrilled oysters as an appetizer. The shrimp had zero flavor and the cocktail sauce didn't help because it was bland as well. The oysters did not appear chargrilled, but the Parmesan cheese sprinkled on top was melted. They tasted like raw oysters with melted Parmesan. The special was an Australian lobster tail, which is my favorite at this restaurant. I ordered the surf and turf with the 10 ounce Australian lobster tail. The steak was excellent cook perfectly and had great flavor. The lobster was over cooked and chewy. It may have that under the heat lamp because parts of it were crispy. Disappointed in the lobster. We ordered asparagus, Mac, and cheese and brussels sprouts for sides. The brussels sprouts and mac & cheese were excellent. The asparagus came out cold we sent it back and the second time it came out was mushy so I would not suggest the asparagus. I dine here regularly and always have an excellent experience with food and service. So this was a one off not so pleasant experience. Since the bread is your first impression, they need to fix that. My mother visited BR Prime before she brought me here and raved over it. I was looking for a great steak, so this should've been a perfect stop. When we arrived the first hint that this might not go well was that we waited for nearly 15min for our waiter to come over. When he finally came to the table he immediately apologized and said it was because there were "major issues in the back". We ordered the lump crab meat appetizer and it was fabulous! If I could bottle the remoulade sauce it was in, I'd eat it on everything. We also got the Tomahawk Ribeye to share with the asparagus and dragon hash as sides. It took a little longer than I would have expected for our dinner, but considering the size of steak, take your time to cook it correctly. When our food arrived the side items were stone cold (like they had come out of the fridge instead of the oven) and the steak was VERY undercooked. We requested medium and the outside was charred in some places, while the instead was bleeding like a totally raw steak. I was very disappointed in this cut of meat-- very fatty, very little flavor and tough to chew. They replaced the sides, but it was going to take forever to recook the steak and we didn't have the time. For a $300 meal, I expected a lot more. read more
