Build Your Own Bowl
Lauren G.

The Basics: Brack's Kitchen is a spot where you can create bowls using a base, protein, and vegetables. You can also select a sauce that will be placed on the side of the bowl. You can order one of the pre-made bowls or you can build your own bowl. I have never been to the physical restaurant location, but I have ordered a bowl a couple times via UberEats. Things I like: I have really enjoyed ordering from Brack's Kitchen and keep wanting to order it again! I got a build your own bowl with rice noodles and brown rice with the chili roasted cauliflower, roasted sweet potatoes, marinated tofu, edamame, and the citrus marinated avocado cilantro. I tried multiple sauces including the basil pesto, toasted sesame, cilantro lemon herb vinaigrette, and sriracha creme. My favorite sauces that I would order again were the cilantro lemon herb vinaigrette and sriracha creme. I also ordered the mac and cheese to try on the side. Things I didn't like: The mac and cheese overall tasted good, but there were pieces of cauliflower in it. This was not clear from the menu and was not in any description. Overall, I will definitely order from this spot again. I love places where you can make your own bowl and the food was fresh and very good!

Overall area of Brack's.

Customer service: 100 Cleanliness: 100 Kindness and attentiveness: 100 If you're looking for good food and don't want to feel guilty about what to eat...Brack's is the perfect place to visit. Brack's offers a variety of food and drink options; including gluten-free foods and "Stubborn" sodas. According to Brack's website, the food is locally sourced. COVID-19 safe and parking is free. My husband and I met the owner, Brack, and he was very kind and attentive. Hubby was very impressed with Brack's and gives them two thumbs up . Go show them some love and #treatyoself to a yummy bowl of goodness.

Chicken and falafel bowl. The chicken is hidden at the bottom. So delicious!

Ok. I've wanted to try this place for a while. They were finally available on Uber Eats, so I decided to go for it. Initially, when I looked at the menu, I felt overwhelmed and doubted that the meal combinations would go together. For example, the bowl I ordered included spiced cauliflower, black eye pea falafel, grilled chicken, cherry tomatoes, Parmesan cheese, and a bunch of other things. As I waited for my food, I started having regrets. HOWEVER, this food was one of the best things I ever tasted. In fact, I ordered the same thing for lunch the next day. You could honestly make two meals out of one bowl, but I ate it all at once because it was so good. The price is moderate ($12 and up), but it's worth it. Give Brack's a try if you're in the area!

The interior looks like a big chain salad bar but the food is actually high quality. I went for a lunch date with my mom and we really enjoyed it. I highly recommend the baked four cheese Mac and cheese. It was so creamy and warm. I might come back just for it. The salad and bowl was also nice and filling. The strip mall that Brack's Kitchen is in is also nice to walk around. The only problem is that parking is a little hard to find but there's a lot of space in the back (it's just far from everything so you have to walk)

Alis Chopped

Visited Bracks Kitchen for the first time and it very bright and welcoming. Upon entering you're greeted and see a board full of options. Today I tried the Ali's chopped but I made some modifications. I removed the eggs, blue cheese and black eye peas. I also substituted Parmesan cheese for bleu cheese. The salad is very filling and well worth the price. All ingredient were fresh and tasty. The chicken is seasoned and juicy and the turkey bacon is so delicious and crispy. The balsamic vinaigrette is also one of the best I've had. I highly recommend them and will come back again.

Mac and Cheese (hard pass)

I wanted a really good and fresh salad. And I got an okay salad, I can't say it was real fresh. This is a fancy subway type spot where everything is out and ready to be put together. I got a chopped salad, which you'd expect would be chopped...not so much. The chicken was good but not a ton of flavor. Overall it was good, not great; to the point I did t eat it all. My wife's "make your own" was tastier mostly due to the brusssels which were tasty. The quinoa was good and the sweet potato noodles were real interesting. She was pleased and said she'd come back. The fresh juice was indeed fresh and quite good. The baked mac n cheese? Hard pass. This was noodles with warmed up cheese sauce, I do not think any baking happened. Lots of options in this area, I'll keep looking.

Brack's Fresh Catch. Sweet potato glass noodles, Thai seared green beans, roasted bell peppers, marinated tuna poke... $14.99.

Brack's Kitchen is great. As I've said in my reviews of other healthy food restaurants that have popped up in Atlanta over the last 5-10 years, we need more restaurants like this. It's hard to eat healthy when dining out, but Brack's makes it easy. They're a wonderful option. Brack's, named after the owner, opened in the same shopping center as Superica in Buckhead (officially called Buckhead Court) in May 2019. Generally, it's a lot like local chain gusto! or Upbeet in Westside -- healthy, made-to-order bowls in a casual environment. My fiancee and I like Upbeet the best because of its taste and also, they have separate trash, recycling, and compost bins (like Whole Foods). Brack's doesn't have anything like that. It'd be nice if they did. We visited for dinner. The restaurant was bright and clean. The build-out still looked new. The interior has a warm, homey feel to it. Open prep counters in the center, seating on either side, self-serve drinks (Stubborn Soda, tea, water) in the back. The staff was welcoming, friendly, and worked efficiently. You can either order with one of the employees at the counter or by using the tablet by the entrance. The staff was busy serving other customers when we decided what we wanted so we used the kiosk to order. It worked well. Our orders came out fast. The menu featured 10 signature items, five salads and five warm bowls, priced at $9.99 to $14.99 each. You could also build your own bowl starting at $9.99 each. Along with the aforementioned beverages, juices, and a limited selection of wine (by the glass) and beer are also served. Our group ordered a variety of bowls: Warm Bowls * Brack's Fresh Catch ($14.99) - sweet potato glass noodles, Thai seared greens beans, roasted bell peppers, marinated tuna poke, citrus-marinated avocado, edamame, English cucumbers, red onion, fresh cilantro, crispy wontons, toasted sesame sauce * Highway 29 ($10.99) - brown rice, balsamic glazed Brussels sprouts, Johnny B's smoked chicken, cowboy caviar, citrus marinated avocado, Sriracha creme * Chicken and Falafel ($11.99) - brown rice, balsamic glazed Brussels sprouts, chili roasted cauliflower, herb and citrus grilled chicken, balsamic marinated cherry tomatoes, English cucumbers, shaved Parmesan cheese, cilantro lemon vinaigrette * Steak and Gravy ($14.99) - spicy forbidden black rice, super slaw, roasted sweet potatoes, roasted broccoli, garlic roasted mushrooms, roasted bell peppers, Hawaiian marinated steak, smoked blue cheese, basil pesto, sun-dried tomato pesto * Saturday in the Park ($9.99) - organic tri-color quinoa, super slaw, roasted sweet potatoes, garlic roasted mushrooms, Thai seared green beans, black-eyed pea falafel, lightly toasted sunflower seeds, jalapeno pineapple vinaigrette Salad * Ali's Chopped ($11.99) - local lettuce mix, herb and citrus grilled chicken, balsamic-marinated cherry tomatoes, citrus-marinated avocado, black-eyed peas, boiled egg, crispy turkey bacon, smoked blue cheese, turkey bacon vinaigrette Every bowl was made to order and presented beautifully with fresh and colorful ingredients. Dressings were served on the side. Everyone seemed to like what they ordered because we devoured everything. Brack's Fresh Catch, Highway 29, and Ali's Chopped were all listed on the menu as Brack recommendations. My fiancee and I had Brack's Fresh Catch and Ali's Chopped. I thought both were delicious. Each bowl had a substantial amount of food and was filling and satisfying. While I've had better tuna poke, the version I got in Brack's Fresh Catch wasn't bad. The raw slices of tuna were nicely flavored with appetizing texture. My favorite ingredients in the bowl were the citrus-marinated avocado, Thai seared (French) green beans, and edamame. The citrus-marinated avocado was a lot like guacamole. Same sort of taste and consistency. Ali's Chopped was similar to eating a hearty, entree-sized salad. The salad came packed with high-quality protein -- thick, lean chunks of chicken breast, an egg, and black-eyed peas. The balsamic-marinated cherry tomatoes were tasty. All in all, these bowls did the job and at a reasonable price. I'd come back.

Mexicali Grill salad

Healthy, flavorful bowls that you can build yourself or pick off the menu. They have a large variety of fresh ingredients and proteins. I tried the mexicali salad, and it was delicious! I'd love to come back and try more bowls. This is perfect for you if you're into a salad or rice bowl situation. They also have a variety of local sodas, kombucha, wine, and fruit drinks. It's located in the back left corner of the shopping center, and parking is free.

Chicken And Falafel

If you like healthy food, a great variety, professional and friendly people serving you then you need to check out Brack' kitchen. My daughter and I both had the falafel bowl, it was excellent. They also have gluten-free Cookies and brownies. And believe it or not they have healthy soda. Probably my new quick and easy dinner option. They have plenty to choose from so it will be a while to get through the menu.

Highway 29 was really rather good. I just wish I had ordered a bit more cowboy caviar on it and skipped the brussel sprouts.

Unfortunately, there aren't enough fast food joints with a focus on fresh salads but lucky for me, Doc Green's was right on my pathway for the day. Located in a huge plaza in Smyrna, Doc Green's is a salad lovers dream. I can't believe this was my first visit! The restaurant itself is narrow but long, offering plenty of seating in the back of the place, as well as the entryway. Doc Green's is actually paired with another restaurant it seems, but I was focused on the salad. They have some recommended combos but you can also create your own with a wide array of toppings. I was in heaven looking at all of the fresh veggies, proteins and dressings available. I decided to create my own and just went wild. I was super bummed because I ended up forgetting some favorites (like avocado) because I didn't see/notice them on the cold bar. I chose my dressings, had it mixed up and then checked out. I opted for a fountain drink and unfortunately, the lemonade was toooooo sweet. But that was the only downside because my salad was wonderful!! Everything was fresh, the portions were generous and I felt like I got my money's worth. I'm always in the Akers Mill plaza buying things I don't need so I can't wait to grab another salad at Doc Green's when I'm in the neighborhood!

It's a beautiful, airy space with plenty of seating, perfect for a relaxed weekday brunch. The quiche rotates seasonally with fresh, in-season ingredients, which I appreciated. However, my lavender latte wasn't great, and it was my first coffee of the day. While I liked that the syrup was house-made, it didn't quite justify the price, especially when I can't count on a solid caffeine fix because it had such a bitter and sour taste to it. The latte art was worth the photo but not the price. Overall, I'd give it a 3 out of 5 just for the delicious quiche. Also loved their market area for fresh homemade picnic-style items & bevs. It's a lovely spot for journaling or catching up with a friend, but not somewhere I'd splurge on regularly.
