We used to love this place. Ownership changed during covid. We recently brought my father here as it used to be one of his favorite places. The bar area was busy but the dining room was unexpectedly quiet for lunch at 12:30. Service was initially quick and efficient. I ordered Chicken Marsala. It was listed as "new" on the menu. What I got was chicken with beef gravy and mushrooms???? Our server never bothered to come back to ask how our meals came out. We didn't see her again until she decided to drop off the check. She didn't bother to ask about the full plate of uneaten food in front of me. Perhaps she wasn't trained. Perhaps she didn't care. I can't say that the Bradford Tavern would get my money again. There are so many other great places in the area. read more

Had dinner Tuesday night at the bar, it was very busy but our bartender Andrea was great! She was super attentive and made a killer espresso martini!!!! We won't be back. 2 couples went for dinner Sunday at 5pm. It wasn't busy but took 10 minutes to get a server. So we ordered drinks and our meals right away. 25!! minutes later our drinks and 2 of the 4 meals were delivered, no silverware though!! Finally after another 5 minutes the other 2 meals arrived, and we asked for silverware...which we eventually got! One hour after we arrived we were finishing our meals and wanted to ordered another drink and dessert - but the hostess/manager came over and said we had to leave because there was a reservation and they needed the table!! There were empty tables in the dining room!! We didn't complain about the awful, slow service. But we are complaining about how they treated customers #WWBB We won't be back read more

This has become a favorite restaurant for my wife Jenni & I. Great friendly staff, comfortable atmosphere and great food! The dining room is very comfortable with great acoustics so you can actually hear and enjoy conversations with whoever you are with! Bradford Tavern just reopened under new ownership. I have visited twice since the reopening. The Good : - Waitstaff and bartenders are awesome! - My main courses were very good and well prepared. The Bad : - Chicken tenders (more like chicken slivers) are absolutely lacking. This is consistent with the the other restaurants that these owners operate. Give it a try. We go here every few months. I miss the old menu/ownership but have enjoyed some things since it reopened. Service has always been decent to very good. Prices are what they are, we never leave feeling terrible about the bill but not a great bargain either. The most recent experience, we sat outside for the first time, no great scenery but pleasant enough patio if you don't mind the road being right there. Service was good, apps and dessert were good. I may have just picked the wrong entree (swordfish) as it was the worst meal I've ever had there, tasteless and weird texture, but not worth complaining to management. I ate about half. Husband's seafood casserole was good. Really, averages out to 3 - 3.5 stars and we will continue going. No more swordfish though. read more

One and done unfortunately. Went for Valentine's Day and enjoyed our food but beyond that, it was a very odd experience. We sat in the library room ( nice fireplace for a cold evening ) which had one server for the six occupied tables. The entire night was very weird. The server was nice but would start talking a few feet before she got to our or any other patrons table. She called everyone "hon" and ran the room like it was diner or her kitchen. We had a 7 pm reservation so we were one of the last tables to eat. We had to ask for water twice and we were served without any napkins or utensils. The server went over my meal with her arms while I was eating to collect a glass, not appropriate and intrusive while someone is eating . After she gave us our bill she sat down with a few other employees at a table in the room and didn't come back to collect payment. My husband had to go to her. We went down to the bar for a nightcap and the bartender said "I don't know how much you drank upstairs so I really shouldn't serve you". Never have we been denied at a restaurant bar because we might have had too much to drink at another location in the restaurant. We were not there to pound drinks on Valentine's Day. My husband was going to order a coffee and she said they didn't have any made. I know they close at 9 pm but it was 8:30 and there were still a few patrons eating throughout the restaurant. Again very, very odd. So she "allowed" me to have my second glass of wine but didn't even offer my husband water. None of the staff had uniforms which is fine but both our server and bartender had very casual leggings and tops on. I'm not sure if expectations were too high for this restaurant for first time patrons on Valentine's Day but unfortunately we won't be going back. read more

First of all let's start off by saying Bradford tavern is not the same. The company that took over should focus on improving their restaurants instead of buying more spaces. The food is over priced and mediocre. The bartender clearly had lack of experience. We finished ONE martini and "was not allowed to serve us another" due to a time restrain't. Excellent dinner in the library. We started with the caramel, apple martini, and a apple spritz, which were both excellent, along with our appetizer of fried zucchini sticks, which were excellent. Always wanted to try it since I drive past the attractive building each day. Walked in, liked the ambiance despite a screaming child (not their fault). Had a reservation and we were seated quickly. My lovely girlfriend and I sat in a booth in the dining room. Server was nice but clearly new to the job. All good so far. Pretty disappointed at the quality of the food. Uninspired menu with too many selections (always a bad sign). Maine Lunch IPA didn't taste right, but maybe it was just a bad batch. Chicken nachos did the job, absolutely massive portions (see: Cheesecake Factory), but I could've made them myself at 2AM for half the price. The shrimp in my tacos were tasty, but the mangos weren't ripe and I couldn't taste them, and the corn tortilla was either stale or sat under the heat lamp for too long. Her Chicken Alfredo was just okay, sauce was broken and grainy, but hey maybe just a bad night. My side Caesar salad is what makes me write this review. It was the most bland and lifeless waste of lettuce to ever touch my fork. The lettuce was flaccid, the dressing was tragically thin and probably from Restaurant Depot, the croutons could be found at Market Basket and the fake Parmesan cheese was like rubber. Do you know how easy it is to make a Caesar salad? Just don't even offer it if you are going to make it the worst way possible. Maybe my expectations were too high, but it just didn't make sense that a place that branded itself that way would serve such mediocre food. Hope they can get some life in their kitchen. read more

Excellent steak tips, steamed veggie medley and mashies as well as a delicious dipping oil and warm bread prior to the meal. Fried clam dinner with onion rings and fries was also well cooked and tasty. Assortment of specialty drinks was $10 a pop as of this writing. The summer sangria was not stingy with alcohol but was stingy on taste. Not much in the fruit department and a most unappetizing color. Generous with the fruit sword, but it's trying to be so many things it tastes like nothing. Charming lower level eatery is dark and romantic candlelight, while upper level function room is bright though uncharismatic. If you want atmosphere, request the lower level dining room as they sometimes seat walk-in diners in the very plain function room when no events are booked. Just a good old fashion tavern. Nice atmosphere and fantastic service. I had the special hamburger salad, which was essentially a handler deconstructed without the bun. Precisely what some of us who are trying to dial back the carbs are searching for. Kudos to this place for being in tuned with some of the fads that many in the fickle public yearn for! The burger was dynamite, cooked to perfection. Perfectly pink and oozing with juice that flooded my plate and all of the vegetables underneath. The bacon was a bit overdone, but still, it's freakin' so that's hard to truly screw up. Nice selection of beers as well. I would recommend it to anyone. Sure, I give it three stars, but I think it is exactly that, an averagely good place.
