This is NOT my first time coming and it certainly will not be my last! I've been a regular here for at least three years, and the food never ceases to amaze me! Not only that, the service is out of the world! Whenever I come here, I'm blessed with the best service and the best accommodations. The bread here is FANTASTIC, always baked well and served warm! The oil dip is extraordinary and my favorite of all restaurants! At today's visit, I ordered the Chicken Parmesan and the Blackened Chicken Burrito. The chicken parmesan was an AMAZING dish, and I'll certainly have to try it again! The pasta here is ALWAYS cooked to perfection, and the chicken is white and delicious. There's not a moment I've been served bad food! I'll continue to recommend this place to everyone I come across, and thus far I've only heard good things! read more

This review is based on a private event I attended. Location is in a nice quiet area, aka far off the main highway. Despite the massive amounts of snow, they maintained the parking area well and there was plenty of parking on a busy Saturday night for patrons of the restaurant and guests of the party (approximately 50). All of the staff we encountered were professional and welcoming. They were extremely patient with the guests - gently herding cats. They all seemed to have an efficient urgency about them and they worked well together. The atmosphere in the room above the restaurant was warm and cozy. The table and chairs were arranging around a dance floor area which sat directly in front of a gas fireplace. The gas fireplace actually threw a lot of heat, so for those that were dancing or posing in front of it for pictures, got a little melty :) The acoustics in the room were tough when everyone was chatty and music was playing, made it very difficult to hear a person if they were more than one seat away. The food was pre-selected, like a wedding. The bread and butter - delicious. Bread tasted fresh, not too crusty and not stale at all. The salad looked bland at first, but it was tossed in a nice light house dressing. My husband and I had chosen the filet for our entree and we were glad! Wow, it was tender and melt in your face delicious. For dessert we had a cake that was brought by the hosts, but they cut and served in a very nice way with ice cream. YUM. It was a cash bar and the soda was a bar mix - which was meh. We transitioned to water after the first glass. The restrooms upstairs were well appointed and very clean. All in all, it was a lovely evening with great food and great service. If I lived in the area I would certainly try this place again. read more

It's been awhile since I've eaten here. A couple months ago I tried a new menu item, Korean Beef Bowl and it was excellent. Thinly sliced beef and vegetables over a nice amount of rice. Great sweet hot flavor. We dined there last night and I ordered it again. What a disappointment! Same flavors, but instead of strips of beef, there were tiny chunks of meat. It made for a mushy, yucky meal. I know costs are rising, but hate it when a restaurant cheaps out on a formerly good dish. read more

I'm actually quite impressed. I had set my expectations low, and they were more than met! We came for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Upon walking in the door, I was surprised that the place seemed so upscale. We chose to sit in the tavern/bar area, and I'm glad we made that choice. Our waitress wasn't overly friendly, but she was attentive. I got the quiche of the day (spinach, tomato, feta) and soup. The quiche came as a huge portion, and was delicious! The fruit on the side was eh. Soup (clam chowder) was good. My other half got the cowboy burger and quite enjoyed it! This place is a little out of our way, but for a quick bite while traveling, I'd come back. Restaurant has changed owners and is not terrible. It has the potential to be the Bradford Tavern it used to be. However, the kitchen needs to work out a couple issues. Some of the food was dry and over cooked but nothing that can't be fixed.. The service was fast and polite, no issues there. For the price, this was not worth it for this visit. read more

We have been going to the Bradford Tavern for years and always liked being there. It is nearby and has always had a warm atmosphere and decent food. We were pleased when it re-opened after the COVID shutdown and have been there twice since then. The first visit was a positive experience, and we went there last night for a birthday celebration. It was a huge disappointment. The menu has changed considerably, which is no surprise given that it is under new ownership, but in our opinion, it is not for the better. Gone are the wonderful, large BT dinner salads and good selection of their traditional entrees. Noticeably lacking were chicken and pasta items. There is a large sushi menu, which we do not like or care about, and the place overall seems to be getting a bit shabby-- minimally, it could do with a paint job and thorough cleaning and maybe new carpeting. The food that we did have was tasty, and our server was excellent; we just were disappointed in the limited selection of non-sushi items. We ordered a carbonated spring water beverage and were told that they were out of spring water! Maybe it's a supply chain issue, but really? We were not happy with our experience and will think twice before returning. read more

This four star review reflects the food, but the service deserves 10!! Our waitress Amanda was so thoughtful and patient with my grandparents and I couldn't be more thrilled. She explained everything slowly and thoroughly with a big smile. I truly appreciate it. Our hostess also took great care of us. We made a 5:15 reservation. When we arrived, we were on our way to our table upstairs. But the hostess asked my grandparents if they wanted to process up, and immediately found us a downstairs table for 5 when the stairs seemed too daunting. As for our food, we started with yummy sangria and clam chowder. The chowder was decent. For dinner I had the fried clams and side Caesar instead of the French fries and onion rings. They were delicious- comparable to those at the Clam Box! For dessert my husband got the bread pudding and it reminded me of cinnamon rolls. Quite yummy! The Tavern has friendly and super attentive staff. My food experience wasn't great, though. I ordered a salmon dish which they rushed (without my requesting it) because I arrived later than the rest of my party. Unfortunately, the result was that the inside of the fish was undercooked. The dish wasn't flavored particularly well either, so I requested baked haddock as replacement. This was at least fully cooked, but very bland, as were the sides. The rest of my family was generally fine with their dishes, ordering a range of burger and salads, though apparently they've enjoyed the food more previously. Next time I will probably refrain from ordering seafood here. read more

We were on our honeymoon last week and driving from Boston up to a bed and breakfast near Augusta, Maine. We got off the freeway to see if we could find a place that served real clam chowder. Being from Texas, ours usually comes out of a can bought in a grocery store. When we came near Bradford Tavern, we liked the charming appearance so we stopped there. When we walked in my wife asked if they served clam chowder and only after they said yes did we let them seat us. The place had a nice atmosphere and the server, Mischell, was super nice. She visited with us and made us feel like that was where we belonged. We each ordered a clam roll with a cup of clam chowder and I'm here to tell ya, it would be foolish to try to compare their chowder to what comes from a can. I mean, a world of difference! While we were eating, the owner also came over to say hello and we found out that she was also from Texas. When Mischell brought us the ticket, she said that lunch was on the house! Everyone there was so nice and the meal was, "Oh, so good!" We'd love to return to the area again and when we do, we definitely plan to return to Bradford Tavern! read more

A cute quaint place in Rowley, good for lunch or dinner! Lots of options from salads to sandwhiches to entres to seafood - they have it all! I will say there is not many tables for dining but there is also a nice bar area and a function room upstairs. The waitress who waited on me was extremely friendly and made the dining experience great! I have no complaints of this restaurant but am not giving it 5 stars only because its nothing special or different than most other restaurants. read more

I went to the Bradford Tavern with my wife and two young children. A female waitress and a male waiter who was in training served us for the first part of the meal. I asked what kind of light beers were available. I was told by the female waitress that Bradford Tavern served both Bud Light and Stella Artois. I told her that "Bud Light will be fine." Our meal was served and the beer arrived in a plain glass. I ordered a second beer, thinking I was drinking Bud Light. I must admit, I don't have a very sophisticated palate for beers, which is why I drink Bud Light. When the check arrived, brought by a second female waitress who finished serving us, my wife figured the tip for % 20 and wrote it on the check, as the service had been good. My wife then noticed we had been served (and charged for) two Stella Artois. I asked a third waitress at another table if there was a price difference between the Bud Light and Stella Artois. She said yes, but did not tell me how much. I spoke with the female waitress who had finished serving us and told her we had been served the more expensive beers incorrectly. I asked her to look in to the matter, assuming the bill be adjusted for the difference between the price of what I had ordered and what I was served. This would have been a very small amount of money. I'm just guessing it would have been about two dollars. The waitress took the bill folder with her and left toward the kitchen. When the waitress returned she said that she had spoken with someone and that she was told that I was given a choice between Bud Light and Stella Artois. I had allegedly replied "That's fine." This was not the case and in any event makes no sense in that I would have been asked to indicate a choice between two alternatives. I ordered a Bud Light and they had simply gotten the order wrong. I asked the bill be adjusted for this very small amount. I told the second waitress several times that the order had been taken in error. The waitress did not offer an adjustment and simply repeated that I had given the nonspecific response "that's fine" and that they had served me the Stella Artois. As I said, my wife had already figured and indicated the tip of 20 percent. The waitress appeared very reluctant to return the check to me, but eventually turned it over. I then adjusted the tip down by two dollars, which was my estimate for the difference in the prices of the two beers. I did this NOT because the order was taken incorrectly, as I understand very well that these things can happen. I adjusted the tip because it became clear there was going to be NO attempt made by the second waitress to adjust this minor error. The waitress watched from a distance as we collected our two children and headed for the door. I left ahead of my wife with our son and waited in the parking lot, wondering what was taking my wife so long to follow. When she came out a short time later my wife informed me that she had been arguing with the waitress, who had accosted her about the adjustment of the tip. My wife told me the waitress had taken the bill folder from the table, looked at the adjusted tip, slammed the folder shut and followed my wife to the door saying in a loud voice, "You didn't have to take it out on me!" My wife, very upset by this and with our daughter in tow, said "excuse me? What did you say?" The waitress then asked "why did you take it out on me?" The waitress then engaged my wife in an extended argument in front of the hostess station, stating at one point that the previous waitress had left for the day and that she had no way of knowing how the interaction between me and the previous waitress had occurred. The waitress further stated that she had gotten a gist of how I had ordered the beer not from the first waitress, but in fact by the trainee waiter. This ridiculous situation concluded with the waitress stating again, "I don't know why you had to take it out on me! She was your waitress!" As I mentioned, when my wife came to the car I asked her what was taking so long. She replied in an exasperated tone, "The waitress was arguing with me over the tip!" I returned to the restaurant and asked to speak to the manager. A young man came out, identified himself as the manager and listened politely to my complaint about the actions of the waitress. But he failed to advise me of any corrective action, nor did not offer to adjust the bill. Long story. I know. An email sent to management went unanswered, so I won't be back. read more

This dimwitted cousin to the Sylvan Street Grille has similarly dull food & singularly bizarre service (my waitress, unable [or unwilling] to walk around our table, reached over us with arms that clearly were NOT up to the task of placing food or drink anywhere near the person who ordered it). The food is classic comfort food but it's difficult to embrace any dish buried beneath a quarter of an inch of bread crumbs as at least two of our dishes were. The decor is either blindingly bright or tavern dark depending upon which side of the place you're seated. If you're in Rowley & starving, check it out. read more

Just so you know, you can never judge a book by it's cover. Yea, well, you can't judge a restaurant by it's street looks either. Expected a little bit more. I also really wanted to like this place. But my pasta was overcooked and undersalted. Service was fine for a Friday night and it wasn't really busy but I just wasn't impressed. I really wish there were better restaurants in the Groveland, Georgetown, Rowley area....nothing between Haverhill and Ipswich on the 133 line. Uugh! read more

I go to here every couple of months and I have never been disappointed. The atmosphere is really great - fancy but casual. Thursday nights they hold trivia in the bar and it is pretty fun. It is definitely helpful to have been alive in the 80s in order to get many of the questions though. Plan your team accordingly ;) the bartenders are quick and the service at the bar is good. You can get full menu at the bar, but the bar menu is good too. Decent beer selection, they have huge TVs and the apps are tasty. The zucchini fries are great. You can't go wrong with dinner at the Bradford Tavern. The prices and portions are very good. The have great paninis and creative salads. If you get the vanilla vinaigrette- definitely get it on the side bit is too overpowering otherwise. I'm a big fan of their quiche of the day as well. Good for the kids too. read more

Great food, great atmosphere and excellent service. The menu is similar to Sylvan Street Grille (same owners) and everything we tried was absolutely delicious. The food came out quickly and was perfectly cooked. The server we had was on top of her game and a pleasure. The decor was nicer than the Sylvan Street Grille in Danvers...a bit more upscale and modern with a touch of old world tavern...very warm and welcoming. The only downside was that we got there at 5:15pm on Saturday, expecting it to be a bit quiet since it was early, and were very shocked to find the place PACKED...absolutely wall-to-wall people everywhere. The wait wasn't more than 40 minutes so it wasn't too bad. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad the place is busy because it means that they will be open for years to come. If you're in the area and hungry don't hesitate to stop in and try this place out. I would also say that it's worth a bit of a drive for both the food and ambiance. Eating by the fireplaces is a treat on a cold winters day. A+ all the way! read more

BT has a very nice vibe. There are unique touches in the decor - for instance, the plasma screens are in picture frames. The food was excellent, and the wait staff marvelous. What stops me from giving five stars? In called from my home in NH to order gift cards, and asked that they be mailed. I was told they could not do that - I would have to go and get them. The bar at the Tavern is a great place to hangout and meet friends. Wednesday is wing night and they were yummy. Although it was quite busy, the bar staff, especially Jackie, had things moving like a well oiled machine. She made up some blue cheese stuffed olives for my martini which a lot of places either can't or won't do. Friendly, fast service. I had the grand Greek salad with shrimp and my husband had the smoked cedar salmon. Both were great. Even though the service was quick you didn't feel rushed which was nice. We're definitely going back again. Mama Louanne's brickle pie is to die for. We don't usually get dessert but so glad we did. If you love ice cream, Oreo crust, Heath bars, marshmallows all drizzled with their special brickle sauce, you're going to love this. read more

Nice bar. Bartenders and waitstaff are on point. Place is accomidating. I would recommend cocktails, spinach and Artichoke dip in the bar only. Sounds funny but we ordered it many times in the bar and you get a good portion and it is served in a GIANT MARTINI GLASS. Ordered it in the dining room and the portion was small and served in a small dish. Bummer. My wife and I went for dinner (sat at the bar). Cocktails were great. Apps were great. For the first time, I ordered the blue cheese crusted filet. Disappointed. Ordered it medium. It came out brown and well. I don't like to send anything back, but I did. When it came back out it was rare. I would recommend staying away from the steak dishes. They do everything else great. read more
